What day is today? [Children’s Day.] How many Children’s Days have we celebrated? [Thirty-three.] When a child grows up and reaches age thirty-three, is he a child or an adult?
In the Unification Church, we celebrate seven major holidays during the calendar year. You have to feel to the marrow of your bones how difficult a path Father and Mother have walked in order to establish the church holidays. All these holidays have not occurred at random. They have come on a victorious foundation of incredible work, tears, and bloodshed by heaven and earth.
You know, through the study of the Divine Principle and Father’s teaching, the state of the world God created. However, through the fall of man, humanity left God and the Garden of Eden and united with Satan, so the history of humankind has had nothing to do with God. In those circumstances, however, God as the Creator still has a responsibility to restore His creation. This is what God has been doing through the work of restoration. This is the basic tenet of our teaching.
Can you imagine if someone deprived you of the most precious and loving thing you have your family, your wife, or your children? Can you give them up easily?
Impossible! God’s grieving heart is a thousand times more painful than yours would be. Under those circumstances, God has been working to restore humanity’s original state of being.
God has been walking a most incredible pathtoo re-store fallen mankind. There has been no foundation, not even one ally, here on the earth which has been totally under Sa-tan’s domination. God sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ. He faced the most incredible difficulties and failed to restore the world. To restore Jesus’ course, God worked for more than four thousand years. Such incredible preparation!
What about Unification Church history in comparison?
God prepared six thousand years to send His own son to this earth, but when he came there was absolutely no foundation. Father has been working with his own blood, sweat, and tears, building one step after another from the very bottom in order to create this victorious foundation. You cannot imagine what an incredible path God and True Parents have been walking.
In the Unification Church, the blessing is the most precious gift from God. True Parents have had to pay indemnity so that the very word “blessing” could be established here on earth. What an amazing path they must have walked to establish the foundation for the blessing.
I want you to know that God has been working tirelessly, day and night. He has been working secretly in the global situation to prepare for that one day. He has been working to establish one foundation, to find one son here on earth. It took six thousand years for God to find that one man. In the Bible, when God created man and woman in the Garden of Eden, He declared, “Behold, it is very good.” This was the first time God declared that something was “very good.” One man and one woman were created.
Jesus Christ came, but he alone could not fulfill his mission. He had to be in a position to welcome a bride, who would become Mother. The couple must be established. The same is true of Father. Father alone could not fulfill his mission; he needed True Mother beside him.
God spent the most incredible energy to establish the foundation for one man on earth. Through that man, God worked to find one bride. The Bible says that among a thousand women, there shall be one woman chosen. By the same token, one woman was to be chosen as the bride to Father, the Messiah. Mother was chosen for that position.
True Mother’s previous course
Mother’s mother, Greatmother [Hong Halmonim], was spiritually open, leading a very devout Christian life. She received a lot of visions and revelations at the time of Mother’s birth. Over and over, there were so many spiritual events. Not only did God know that the chosen baby had come, but Satan also knew; therefore, Satan was always trying to kill Mother so she could not fulfill her mission. An incredible satanic plot was revealed to Greatmother Hong by God’s age so that she would have extra time to protect Mother.
Korea, being the third Israel, had been chosen for a special position different from other nations. The most incredible spiritual phenomena were going on in Korea in those days. Even those who had nothing to do with Father, Mother, or Great Mother Hong testified about Mother. People would visit her home and speak of the most astounding revelations.
Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon
When the Korean War broke out, Mother was less than ten years old. Two special prophets visited Great-mother Hong’s home. These prophets spoke of amazing things. Great-mother Hong listened to these two men. They said, “Do not be disappointed that your child is a girl.” (Korea has a tradition of favoring sons.)
“Your daughter will be ten times more important than ten sons. You cannot compare this one girl baby. This baby will be reared in the most precious way.
When she becomes seventeen years old, she will marry. Her husband will be much older than her but do not be disturbed. It is the will of God.” Because it was wartime, everyone lived in poverty, but these prophets said that Mother would be wedded to a man to whom the entire fortune of the world would belong.
Mother heard this as a little child, but she forgot about this testimony. In 1960, Mother was chosen to be Father’s bride; all of a sudden, she realized she was seventeen years old and was reminded of the testimony when she was less than ten years old. Incredible, isn’t it?
Mother would like to share one more personal testimony with you. Just after the birth of Ye Jin Nim and Hyo Jin Nim, she had a special vision. At that time, the persecution of our church in Korea was very severe. In the vision, Mother was walking on the most incredible mountain path in absolute darkness. The path was covered with webs, shrub,s and bushes, so that she could barely move forward.
One false step would take her over a high cliff on the other side of the rocky mountain. Mother was struggling with one child on her back and carrying the other, trying desperately to move forward step by step in darkness, covered with sweat because danger was right there. Any misstep would be fatal.
Mother was walking in that fashion for hours and hours until finally she saw a light. She was so happy; she moved faster and was quickly out of the tunnel. A brand new heaven and earth, like Shangri-La, appeared in front of a wonderful sight after the darkness. Mother looked down at the earth. It was newly plowed, and the planting had been completed. There were beautiful green plants and flowers everywhere. A new heaven and earth!
Mother looked up and saw Father sitting there, smiling down upon her. Mother looked around and nobody else was there. After a little while, she looked around again and saw that members were walking toward her. Their faces were showing up one by one.
The Dispensational Role of True Parents
You have heard Father say many times that Mother walked a special path of indemnity for at least seven years. That path was almost like a dream. It was a very difficult time for Mother. You are the children of True Parents. Children cannot exist without the Father and Mother being perfected first. Only upon this foundation can children come.
The work of the Father and the work of the Mother are equally important. True Parents’ role cannot be fulfilled without both Father and Mother. Jesus’ precise goal was to establish the True Parents. The era did not allow that to happen, and Jesus was crucified. If Jesus had opened enough of a path to bring Mother’s position to his side and be installed as True Parents, the crucifixion would not have occurred.

Mother has suffered so much. Father has suffered so much more in order to establish God’s kingdom in the dark satanic world, starting from himself alone with no allies. How difficult a path Father must have walked. He has walked through many valleys of death, and so many times narrowly escaped physical death during his dispensational course. This is the state of Father and Mother’s path; this incredible condition of indemnity they have paid for the sake of humankind.
In comparison, how close are you to the heart of True Parents?
How much indemnity have you paid? How many conditions have you laid? How steadfast, loyal, dedicated, and committed are you to our True Parents’ path?
We have become complacent.
You sit home and think, “Tomorrow is Parents’ Day. I will go. I will be happy to be there. It is a little early, but I will go there anyway. I will be happy to bow down to True Parents and then have a good celebration.” That is not enough. A celebration day like this cannot become routine.
True Mother’s call to action
This is the thirty-third Children’s Day. Mother asked you, “Are you a baby, a child, or an adult?”
You are grown up now; a thirty-three-year-old is grown up. That means you have to inherit True Parents’ lineage, their heart, and, most importantly, their agony and suffering. You will say to True Parents, “The time has come. We will take on all of your burdens. Now is the time for you to receive the glory and rest. We shall be in the True Parents’ position. We shall become your extension.”
True Parents are the True Parents of the entire humankind. There are five billion people out there. True Parents are the True Parents for everyone. Historically, fifty billion or five hundred billion does not make any difference. There is only one Father and Mother to be the True Parents for the past, present, and future.
Today is a very extraordinary day for California, particularly for Pasadena House.
True Parents are here celebrating Children’s Day with you. Today is a special day for you; it cannot be just an ordinary day. The most important thing for you to do, first of all, is to repent. Second, you should then commit to becoming new men and new women.
Today is a day for new resurrection. This is not an ordinary day, especially because Mother is here for the historical Women’s Federation for World Peace speech. Seven is a very special number. This is the seventh speech Mother has given in America.
So today repent, recommit, then get out and work to make Mother’s event the most momentous, the most historical, and the most victorious. That is the order of the day.
