Let Us Have an Attachment of Heart in Which Heaven Abides Together with Us

During this past period, you went forth and witnessed in over four hundred places throughout South Korea, and as a result, many churches have now arisen. To that extent, I see that the time has come when our Unification disciples must take up a new resolve from this point forward.

As the Association President has just spoken, I am grateful for the way you, shedding sweat and blood, have embraced each region as your own and fought, ready to lay down your very lives.

God Has Conducted the Providence of severing worldly attachment

What I wish to say before you is this: the time has come when we must fight, and we stand in the position of facing the time that Heaven longs for; therefore, we must take up a certain resolve.

Rather than a personal resolve of our own, we must take up a resolve by which we, in place of Heaven and earth, can move Heaven, can move the earth, and at the same time move countless multitudes of humankind. I believe that through this past witnessing period, you have experienced this in your inmost being. Because we have been the first to recognize this providential standard of the times, we must clearly understand what kind of time this is.

When Heaven leads forth the company of the good, it has by no means led them along a level road. Even from the place of being trampled underfoot, the providence has been carried forward upon a continuous altar of tears, sweat, and blood — and this is an unavoidable fact whether one looks at any historical record or observes the providential course.

Therefore, that the culture of history could be brought forth and established to this degree was not by the company of those who were enjoying their environment and dwelling at ease, but rather, as we well know, was accomplished through the multitudes who were trampled and driven, by their tears, sweat, and blood. And so, beginning from the individual, passing through the family, through society, the people, and the nation, and crossing over the world toward a single goal, history has been woven, and the culture of humankind has developed to this point.

What kind of time, then, is this?

It is a time when, regardless of whether one possesses a conscience, lives the way of the Tao, or is whoever one may be, all must take up a new resolve of heart.

This is the time when the attachment of the heart toward the society in which one stands has been lost. In conducting the providence upon this earth, when there arise multitudes who walk the way of the Tao, God must drive them along the path of severing attachment to the world.

From the family and from one's own flesh, every kind of desirous nature is present in the world, but it is a fact that God has been leading us in the direction of removing all this.

This is not so for the religious alone.

If today there is a will of God to accomplish a single purpose centering upon religious people, what kind of world will arrive in the final Last Days? There, God must by all means drive everyone into a societal environment in which they lose their attachment of heart.

What kind of time are the Last Days?

What sort of time must the Last Days be?

They are the times when the attachment of the heart that certain people have toward that to which they have devoted their very lives gradually, gradually grows faint and at last is lost.

Such a time of the Last Days must certainly come at some point. Why must this be so? Because the nation God seeks to establish and the world that evil draws forth are opposites. By holding worldly attachment, the work of Heaven cannot be accomplished.

Therefore, if God is determined to accomplish His purpose and establish His will, then upon the earth, in everything — attachment to the multitudes of humankind or to the nation, attachment to the people, or to the studies one is engaged in, and going further, to one's family, to the parent-child relationship, to every field, every department — by severing all such attachment of heart, Heaven is conducting the providence; this we can see in totality.

Moreover, when we observe the present moment in totality, the democratic and communist worlds are confronting one another. As this current advances further and further, the people within the democratic camp themselves come to lose attachment to the democratic camp.

On the other hand, the communists likewise must lose their attachment to communism — the world is certainly moving in this direction. Through such struggles and phenomena, history has been unfolding in the direction of severing humankind's attachment, weaving the path of the Last Days. This is a fact.

Severing Worldly Attachment, We Must Form a Bond with the One Sent in God's Stead

When we observe from the standpoint of Heaven's side, from the individual, through the family, society, and nation, crossing over to the world and even into the realm of cosmic thought, this tendency must move forward; and going further, even those of religion or of conscience—believers and seekers of the Tao — must by all means move in this direction.

Therefore, when we look at today's established churches and all religions, the time has come when those people must certainly face the original will toward a new religious order, and so, regardless of denomination, division must occur within them, and many devout believers who poured out their utmost sincerity and went forth as martyrs must come to be cast out by them. Such a time of the Last Days must by all means come.

Then why must God move in such a direction?

You must understand this. Between the world of evil and the world of goodness, to cross over the ridge from the world of evil, a settling of accounts must by all means take place. The time for settling these accounts is the era of judgment. That time is the era of judgment.

If we hold attachment of heart to all things of the world and cling to them to the end, we cannot cross the great seat of judgment before Heaven. Therefore, Heaven is putting all things in order. In the end, He drives us to a place of solitude where we can trust no one, not even a loved one, leaving us without anything to boast of before the world with attachment of heart.

By driving us thus, He brings us to express the consensus that human strength alone cannot accomplish anything, and from there, the providential will is to look up to Heaven once again and stir up an attachment of the heart toward Heaven. That is the way it proceeds.

Then, in this era of judgment, how shall the judgment be carried out? It is the judgment of the Word and, at the same time, the judgment of character; the judgment of character and, at the same time, the judgment of heart. Because you have learned the Principle, you understand this well.

The judgment is not carried out blindly. It is not that fire is poured down and great calamities of heaven and earth break out upon this land and destroy everything. By no means does it happen so.

The judgment must consist of the judgment of the Word, then the judgment of character, then the judgment of heart.

When we examine the entire history of Christianity, what was being sought during the four thousand years before Jesus? Truth in its true form was being sought.

Furthermore, what was sought was a person of character who could stand before God — God who has become one with truth—call upon God freely, speak freely with God, directly receive the Word of God, and directly answer the Word of God.

What was to be done by establishing such a person of character?

God's will was to lead them to the place where God and that person become one body, where they can receive God's love and respond to God with love. Therefore, from the time of Jesus until now, the history of judgment has centered upon the Word. Under the slogan, “Whoever believes will be saved; whoever does not believe will not be saved,” it has come this far. Therefore, the Word and the substance must certainly be united. God's true Word must certainly leave behind achievement and substance. This is the principle of Heaven's law.

Yet when all things were created upon this earth, all things were created for the sake of the true sons and daughters, and the substance of the true did not appear. That is the Fall. The world that became unable to live with God after acquiring the substance of the truth is the fallen world. To seek this once again, God must again give the Word and connect it with the Heart.

Once again raising that Word, God establishes the substantial figure that takes the place of the Word, and after that substantial figure is completed, He adds His Heart to it and seeks to form the bond of parent and child. You understand well that this is the purpose of creation.

Because this is so, what Heaven has been carrying out as providence until now has been to seek out and establish the Word. Yet still, after Jesus came and departed, the true Word has not come forth.

What sort of Word is the Word, and what is the purpose of the Word?

It is not for the saving of the individual or the nation. The purpose of the Word is to revive this ideal of heaven and earth — passing beyond the individual, beyond the family, to society, the nation, and the world and going further, even to the invisible world. This purpose must be accomplished.

Why is this so?

After creating Adam and Eve, God blessed them and commanded them to have dominion over all things. The dominion is not only on the external side. There is the standard that they were to exercise dominion even over the internal.

What sort of Word is that Word?

It is not so that I, as an individual, may believe and go to Paradise. It is the will that, as I, as an individual, believe, my family believes; as my family believes, society, the nation, the entire world, and going further, even the multitudes of spirits in the heavenly realm become one and advance to the place of unity together with the ideal that God established at creation.

Centering on God's Word, the Ideal World Must Be Accomplished

Looking from this side, when we look at Christianity today, the worldview of Christianity has not yet been established. The individual must, on the foundation of the original family, pass through the ideals of society and cannot escape the relationship as a citizen, or as one of the world's humankind. Therefore, the time when we must seek out and establish the purpose of salvation centering upon the individual being, has passed.

The time of crying out, “Father, save me!” while shedding sweat and blood in prayer, has passed. This is not such a time.

Therefore, in former times, to accomplish this historical purpose, while embracing these countless human beings within the bosom of evil and continuing to govern them as they were, God came to establish a new color from a new angle, to take on a new and different appearance, and from the individual or from the family forming society and the nation, has been laboring in providence to raise the people called the chosen people. This is a fact.

Therefore, the purpose of God's salvation is the accomplishment of a universal — and, going further, a cosmic — purpose. Therefore, the Word required by humankind today in this era of judgment by the Word must likewise be a Word that can transcend the ideal of the cosmos. Therefore, the salvation of the individual alone is not enough.

From the worldview, from the cosmic view, when I encounter the thoroughly principled Word centered upon this, then today, just as a lump of earth received light and became this living being, before God's Word, life arises, emotion arises, and an ideological direction can be sought. Humankind, by all means, needs such a Word of utmost devotion.

Has such a Word with such content come forth on this earth today?

It has not come forth. Therefore, looking at the chronology of the Bible from the time of the Fall until now, there is a six-thousand-year history, but in the course of that six-thousand-year history, God has not been able to speak fully the words He longed to speak.

The Word of the Bible is the word Jesus spoke when he lived as a single, unmarried man.

The ideal centering upon Jesus must be such that it can be established before the entire universe. But providence has come thus far centering upon individual salvation. You must know this.

Past individual salvation comes family salvation; past family salvation, Heaven must by all means establish even social salvation and national salvation. As the smallest unit, there must be a nation. Only then can the worldwide history be carried forward.

Therefore, Christians today must understand that they are a people without a nation. Those who walk the way of the Tao are a people without a nation. Here, there is no citizenship and no nation to which one can defect. There is not even a people one can call one's own kindred. You must know all of this.

In the present world, what does this era demand?

In this present age, what are we demanding of religious people?

If Heaven is conducting the providence, there must be, by all means, a standard by which one, centering on the ideal of the Tao, can establish citizenship; can establish a national territory according to the ideal of the Tao; and can stand as a people centering upon the ideal of the Tao.

How shall we resolve this phenomenon?

Looking at one field, if there are a hundred households, the daily life of those hundred households differs in everything. However different they may be, they must by all means possess a converging point unified by some principled heart. To establish this converging point, Christianity has held forth the theme of love.

If so, who shall be grafted in and restored before that love?

Heaven must sift out a standard by which anyone can revere those words of love. Therefore, hanging up the titles of bridegroom and bride to establish an absolute standard, the Church and the Scriptures have admonished this; yet today, the multitudes of Christians who believe in the Church do not stand in such a state, and that is the great problem.

Because the providence has come this way, what God ultimately desires in this era is not, on the foundation of the heart, that some individual believes well and goes to Paradise. It is too long for a world centered upon the Word, in which the family is centered on the individual, the nation beyond the family, or the entire world can become one before God's Heart. This is unavoidable.

Centering on the Word, Becoming One with One Another, the Ideal World Can Be Accomplished

Therefore, the era of believing blindly has passed. Insofar as we cannot deny the actual life conditioned by reason and the formal processes of law, down even to our daily emotions, we today must likewise be more meticulous in our faith conceptions. It differs from blind faith.

Then, where lies the purpose indicated and longed for by today's Bible?

What is God's purpose? Where lies the purpose of the judgment? It is absolutely not for the purpose of judging an individual, saving them, and sending them to Paradise. The purpose is to accomplish God's kingdom of goodness. God's purpose is not to kill everything. God holds a heart of love that cannot bring Himself to kill.

For this reason, to settle this matter today, in what direction does history proceed? It must by all means pass through a blocked process. Without that, no resolution comes. Only after this is settled can the new work begin. Can evil and good play in one place? They cannot share the same place. They must be separated.

If, then, God's will is to migrate now from the evil world to the world of goodness, here a condition of judgment must by all means be presented. In carrying out that judgment, it is done with the Word.

The purpose of that Word is all of it, salvation. This proceeds, centering on a cosmic ideal that can communicate with the heart of the individual, with the heart of the family members, and with the heart-world of citizens or peoples of differing borders — communicating, from God's side, with the standard of one Heart.

You all — do you know who today's Christians of the whole world are?

The Christians of the whole world are brothers, the people of the heavenly kingdom. One who does not hold the conception of brotherhood cannot become a citizen. One who deviates from the bond of brotherhood cannot become a citizen.

Looking at the present situation of the Church, they are biting and tearing at one another. Where has the bond of brotherhood gone…

What kind of time is this present moment demanding?

Because a new time has come for building the heavenly kingdom — Cheonguk — we must cross over by passing through the process of becoming a people. Then have you reached the era of brotherhood? This is the time to ask each one of yourselves.

As for us today, we must clearly understand that everything historically up to now, all the systems of society, the systems of the family, all the creeds of faith centering upon my background—every one of these has prevented me from forming the true bond of brotherhood by which I could seek and establish brothers before Heaven.

Even if those who have not formed the bond of brotherhood unite and call themselves a people, that must by all means break apart. In loving the nation, we must love it more than our brothers. In such a course, Heaven is driving us forward.

Therefore, today's Christians of the whole world, and all the more the multitudes of humankind who would walk the way of the Tao, must now be of one heart and seek to establish the bond of brotherhood, moving centering on the way that says, “Who shall snatch our bond from us?” Such a form must by all means come forth on this earth.

Look. In the era of the early Church, when brothers fell shedding their blood, they likewise offered up their lives and fell, and leaving behind a bond by which they would not regard even the place of death but would press through it, they marched powerfully against the world of evil.

But today, having lost the bond of brotherhood among themselves, they fight — and here is collapse, collapse. They are following the single road of collapse. But Heaven's time has drawn near.

What Heaven demands is to seek the citizens of the heavenly kingdom, and citizens must, by all means, pass through the process of the bond of brotherhood. All this has been severed.

We Must Hold an Attachment of Heart to Seek God's Word

Severing the bonds formed in the world up to now — Heaven rejoices because they break. Why is it that today, everything is broken so that attachment is removed? To take that away and turn one in the direction where one can hold attachment to another sphere, today the entire course of history is being severed and settled.

So in this present era, a worldwide phenomenon is being made in which attachment cannot be placed in any sphere.

How shall this purpose come to its conclusion?

The purpose is not to discard all attachments. While severing attachment to what is wrong, those who hold Heaven as their standard must come to hold attachment of heart toward one another, taking the form of those who can sing of the bond of brothers above the brothers of this world, of parents above the parents of this world. If this form is not by all means achieved, we are destined for ruin.

Therefore, although the Unification Church arose in Korea and became the object of much criticism, it has not perished. When will the time come when these people, severing all their attachments, find that they can no longer measure their shoulders against ours?

If there is a person who must first receive God's judgment, that person receives it first. But among the peoples who first receive judgment, the people who escape judgment are the people who receive God's love.

However wide the world may be, we long for the time when such a substance must by all means sweep over the whole of our society, or the entire sphere of our customs, and bring forth such a societal regulation.

Place your hand upon your breast and reflect. Is there anyone whom you believe in to the point of laying down your life?

Is there anyone whom you wish to attend to with all your devotion? Parents are killing their children, children are killing parents, husbands, and wives, and children are turning against one another, and a tragic phenomenon is unfolding. I cannot hold attachment toward today's family. The same holds in any academic field one specializes in.

Why is this so? In an environment in which the nation is collapsing and the people are collapsing, one cannot hold it. Why can one not hold it? When we look at the actual society in which we live today, and even more at the actual condition of Korea, this has become a society in which attachment cannot be placed. The more so, we must not collapse in despair but must take to heart that this is precisely how it must be — that the time which by all means must come has come.

What is the purpose for which Heaven drives us into such a place?

The purpose is not to break us and cast us into hell, but to open up a single road by which, in such a place, we can forget all things, sever all things, and once again gather our wholehearted single mind, looking up to Heaven and crying out.

The way the Korean people must now go, especially in this time, is not religion, nor politics, nor culture, nor any existing religion of the past.

Why? Because as long as they do not hold the content of a religion through which one can lay down one's life and hold attachment, saying “This is God's will,” all of these will pass away. Because such a time has come, today we — all the more, the young men and women who are knowledgeable — must judge and analyze with sharp eyes. Look. Religion is blocked. And philosophy is blocked. Today's environmental politics, or whatever, can it be trusted? Do you have an attachment?

If you have an attachment, it is to a single piece of bread you eat each day. What has arisen from such a viewpoint, taking up just this, is today's materialist view of history. This materialist view of history stands at a time when it can take up the world stage. It looks toward such a time and is coming forward in such a tendency. But by this, it cannot be done.

Human beings cannot live by bread alone. However full I may be, I cannot defend my heart's heavenly fortune against the workings of all the currents of thought that today bore into and sneak into my spirit.

Only when I have the capacity to defend against and digest them is there joy; otherwise, there is no joy. Therefore, since this is the time when the time of judgment is approaching, it is a time when we must tremble in unease, anxiety, and dread; it is the time of the Last Days when there is not one single thing toward which we can incline our hearts and hold attachment. You must know that we are in such a time.

Today, what we must once again become attached to is the humankind of the world. Therefore, you must cry out to seek a single Word that can stir up a new attachment of heart.

Since I have lost everything entirely, beginning with my parents, the time has come when I need a single Word that can once again stir up attachment toward what has been lost.

Today's world has come to an era when no -ism can be trusted; therefore, the time has come when we need a single Word and a single ideal — feeling something beyond this, even though I should incline my life toward it and fall in the place of death — that can stir up an attachment of heart greater than life itself. From this standpoint, examine yourselves. Examine yourselves, I say.

Then will Heaven shatter all things?

Since such a time has come, through this Word, I as an individual must live; as I as an individual live, the people live; as the people lives, the world lives; as the world lives, God lives; and even God, casting off the han of lamentation accumulated over six thousand years, must take up the sovereignty of liberation and meet a time when He can command the whole universe.

So he is not seeking to shatter. From this side, if there is a God, then a single movement that can hold attachment must by all means arise — this is an inevitable fact. Is it not so? The era of blind faith and rule-of-thumb belief has passed.

What Will Remain at Last as Historical Tradition Is Only the Heart Centered upon Heavenly Affection

Now, when we hold attachment, we must know the Word that is the motive of holding such attachment. This Word must be a Word that can tread over the self and overcome it. This Word must be a Word that can shatter the conceptual religion in which I have believed and gone forth.

This Word must be a Word to which heaven and earth respond when, kicking aside all the issues of the various isms of today's times and society, centering on a new banner, I cry out toward the cosmos.

Therefore, to come forward with a Word of such content, today's world standing in the logical view will not do. Beyond this logic, it must be a cosmicism that comes forth through the heart-based ideal.

When a person is happy, happiness is not in my knowing much, not in my becoming the dean or president of some university, not in my becoming somebody in a nation. By no means. Happiness lies only in standing in a place where one's heart, transcending the environment one possesses, can sing of a settled value that cannot be exchanged for any value at all.

Why has God been suffering until now?

Where lies the cause that makes it possible to attach the term “suffering” or “labor” to God's name? It is the inability to establish the value of the heart in today's world of creation that is God's grief and suffering.

Settling the entirety of history, what shall remain at the last?

Only the heart of humankind shall remain. You must understand this. The heart of humankind shall remain — but what kind of heart is that heart?

Not such a heart-driven and broken in the fallen world up to now, not the heart that lingers in a place of no attachment, but a heart of such content that for all eternity none can occupy this mind. Such must the Word be. Then the individual and the whole will become one.

You all, in the matter of the heart, value transcended. The value of relative comparison is transcended. However great and high God may be, when He stands forward through my heart, even though I do something contrary to God's law, in the dimension of value, He stands with relativity.

In such a place, when I become a person who, centering on God, can revere God in heart and rejoice with Him, I shall be one of infinite happiness. The ideal of religion must cross over to that place. The human being is not constituted to move upon receiving commands. Heaven has been conducting providence to lead humankind to such a standard.

What shall remain at the last, as the tradition of history is the heart. What kind of heart? Not human affection — injeong. Not the heart of human affection, but the heart of heavenly affection — cheonjeong.

Looking at history today, there were many filial sons, loyal subjects, and virtuous women. The standpoints of the heart that pass through the way of human relations can be learned and heard endlessly, yet they have nothing whatever to do with me.

The relationship between people and people cannot be erased.

By that, no resolution comes. Therefore, in dealing with this, all must be utterly intermingled. Therefore, the trend of the age of no-attachment must by all means appear as a phenomenon entering just before the world judgment. You must understand that.

When we lay open our breast and see, when we examine the inner state of the heart of one who calls “Father” and says “I believe in the Lord” — if there is one who calls himself a child of God—does he know the matter of God's Heart?

How is God's Heart that faces the individual? How is God's Heart that faces the people? How is God's Heart that faces the nation and the world? If one does not know this, one absolutely cannot become a loyal subject or a virtuous woman.

You must clearly understand that the purpose of history is to seek a resting place of the heart in which all humankind can rejoice in common.

The purpose of culture, the purpose of Jesus, the purpose of each individual — every purpose, in its standard, is for the sake of bringing about a single settling of accounts. Therefore, what religion has come forth bearing such content from this viewpoint? The first religion to appear is Christianity.

Jesus said of himself, “I am the bridegroom, and you are the bride,” and that foundation of heart is not the heart of the bridegroom and bride centering upon today's fallen-world humankind. So that they may seek out the bond of heavenly affection, before today's ignorant people, such a condition is being established.

Following one to whom a bond was formed, crossing the enemy lines of death, broadening history, and forming the worldwide foundation, the work has gone forward.

The True Truth Is to Resolve the Hidden Han of Heavenly Affection

You know about the bride. The bride is in no easy position. If on this earth there is one qualified to become a bride, the one who can call himself a bride upon this earth…

If in today's Satan world, the world of evil, there is some loyal subject — among the many loyal subjects, that one must be a being who possesses a content and a heart-fidelity with which none can be compared.

Otherwise, God cannot raise him as a loyal subject of Heaven. Why? It is that one cannot raise a loyal subject of the Satan world as a loyal subject of the heavenly world, for the sake of Heaven's dignity. The standard is that standard.

“If there is a virtuous woman or filial son, even though such-and-such ones may exist among them, when compared to the one filial son who can be raised before Heaven by gathering at once the multitudes of filial sons of six thousand years—they cannot be exchanged!”

Until such a filial son of such value appears, one cannot become God's son. Going to that place where Satan toyed and trampled, God suffers loss. Therefore, in the context of Christianity, there is the condition, “Love me more than anyone.” You must clearly understand this.

You must know how grieved is the Father's Heart that has come seeking humankind today with such a Heart. Knowing this, we must know that He is the Father who has come bearing a han that cannot be comforted even by ten thousand years of weeping.

You must know that the era of the Second Coming is the time when, by raising a son and daughter who can comfort this Heart of han, He once again blesses the entire vast cosmos.

Question and answer for yourselves. How many tears have you shed for Heaven? How much sweat have you shed for Heaven?

How much of the blood of your life have you shed for Heaven?

When those who have not been recognized before Heaven's standard call themselves God's sons and daughters, even a robber would laugh. That is how I see it. I anticipate that during this past witnessing period, many family members will have been raised. Now, how shall we take up our resolve? This is the matter we must consider first.

What kind of era is this era?

Because this is the era of judgment, the era of judgment by the Word in which God conducts the providence anew has come. This is the principle and the rule. The formula of mathematics transcends every border. It transcends the entire content of any so-called great person. It is most ordinary and most universally applicable.

Have you understood God's Heart by this formula? The place where parents love their children is not two but one. The place of true love is not two but one.

What is unknown is the content of the heavenly heart-world by which a new ideal model must be made above the formal law. People say, “Let us simply believe and go to Paradise.”

If that were so, how easy it would be! I would not be saying these things to you while shedding sweat. I would not be standing here speaking. Offering up my entire life, walking the path of persecution, I would not need to fight such a fight today before these people.

The young people of unification, and all the more our Unification disciples, have come to the time when a new awakening is needed.

If, having come into the Unification Church, we cannot resolve all of these matters of content, then pack up your bundle and leave. As I have already said, if it is the kind of word that cannot speak the Word in which heavenly affection is hidden, that cannot kindle a fire in my eyes, it is false. It is anti-Christ.

However fluently one may preach, having memorized all sixty-six books of the Bible, if it does not contain truth that can separate the tangled blood of death, it is not truth.

What revolutionized the history of change… Only when the feeling of this blood, fighting in this gutter, is turned into the feeling of new blood, does history move into a new era of revolution… We know the historical fact that we have come this far, facing the gateway of a new history.

Today, are you seeking that figure who, having a new bloodline planted in your heart, having new blood-flesh leaping vigorously toward the purpose of a new ideal, can boast of value in that position?

When we ask whether my position, my value, and my purpose have a direction, it is grave.

We must clearly understand that God is the subject of an eternally unchanging position, an eternally unchanging value, and an eternally unchanging purpose. Can you yourselves possess the object body of an eternally unchanging position, eternally unchanging value, and eternally unchanging purpose?

Therefore, today we, having wandered through this street and that village, this church and that church, this denomination and that sect, seeking countless people, have at last come to this place called Unification.

I know that on the brows of those who have come to find this path, sweat has flowed; I know that on their backs the marks of beatings remain; I know that their footsteps bear wounds — yet I cannot but speak of one corner of history. Why? Because as long as God's sweat, tears, and blood remain still before this people, before today's humankind of the world, we must become filial sons, virtuous women, and loyal subjects who comfort the heavenly heart.

Therefore, if you have the confidence to turn our blood into the Father's blood, our sweat into the Father's sweat, our tears into the Father's tears, then come; if not, then do not come. You must understand well why this is so.

Jesus, Who Came as the Messiah of the Word and Departed Without Fulfilling His Mission

God's six-thousand-year history was for the establishment of one Word of heavenly law. Yet you must know that He was a God who could not freely speak the Word. It is grievous. Grievous.

From the position of being Father, the fallen humans came bearing the name of children — by the bond, they are sons, but in their actual situation, they stand in the position of enemies.

How shall this be broken through?

Therefore, moving conscientious people of will, this wall has been broken through. The time must by all means come when, the blood of my heart boiling up, I can call “Father,” and at the voice of the son calling “Father” and the voice of the Father calling “Son,” the whole of heaven and earth dissolves and more besides. Only then shall the time arrive when judgment ends upon this earth.

When your mind thinks of the Father, are you an individual whose heart is so earnest that you can wail aloud, who, regardless of any unjust treatment by which your flesh is torn and trampled, can break the wall of tears and the sea of tears and complete your full measure?

It is a time for reflection. There were times when I wept. There were times when I wept without end. It was not because of any desire or purpose of my individual self. It was because I knew that the time must by all means come, in the time of judgment, when the historical turning point centering upon such a starting point must be resolved.

When I thought of how, centering upon the historical convolutions, the tragedy of han of humankind had been made, I could feel the fact that I, longing for the figure of a true son who can stand in place of heavenly affection, was wailing in agony. I longed for one place where, at the voice that wandered seeking the Father and the voice that came in answer agreeing it, I could cry out, “I am here.”

Do not boast of decades of religious life. Before that voice that the Father calls, before the answer He calls forth in concern for that Heart… Is there upon this earth a true son or daughter who can inherit and assume responsibility for all the Father's situation? Think of it.

Think centering upon yourselves. It was a piteous and aggrieved Heaven. It was the Father's Heart that could do nothing. Satan, this — it is a history of humankind bearing such han that it would not be a pity even if, several thousand years ago, He had swept it as a sacrificial offering of judgment into the fire pit of hell to be consumed in sulfurous flame. Bearing this, He has come this far. If there were no bond left of “I am the Father, you are sons,” you could not live with confidence in yourselves.

We are singing of the heart of restoration. Now is the time when the voice that resounds, calling in the Father's voice, is needed. What I long for here is not anything of this world.

The world has already become the time when all is severed and blocked, so now, if I have ears, eyes, a mouth, and emotions, the emotions that come in through the five senses must be able to communicate a new emotion that transcends the old emotion.

That emotion must clearly grasp the fact that it has been bonded together with heavenly affection, and must clearly know that I am the Father's son, the Father's daughter.

Because the human being must cross over such a process, the shield called salvation began by teaching the ignorant ones, the fallen and trampled and pitiable ones, with hand gestures. The Messiah came in parable and symbol to protect humankind, who, up to now, had passed through without crossing the inner state of the heart.

What kind of Messiah is that Messiah?

The Messiah of substance. What kind of Messiah is that Messiah? The Messiah of the Word — yet what Jesus showed when he came to this earth was that he could not complete the role of the Messiah of the Word. He departed without completing the standard of the Word, without completing the standard of character, without completing the standard of heart. The Bible is the Word-like word he left behind. That is a parable and a symbol.

The Unification Disciple Who Must, Beyond Individual and World, Resolve God's Han

What must we now seek here?

You must know that, together with the Word — after the passing of the Word — comes the era of passing through substance. This Christianity does not know. The purpose of looking at and studying the Bible is to pass through the standard of substance.

If one does not pass through the standard of substance — if one does not know the situation upon this earth, holding fast to that substance — one cannot become the bride. Therefore, humankind upon this earth must welcome the Lord.

We who have not completely passed through the Word, we who have not completely passed through substance, we who have not completely passed through heart — when we look quietly, today's reality is that we are longing only for the very best.

Oh Lord, the bridegroom! Oh Lord of love! To advance to the place of love, the Word must be resolved.

If one has internalized the Word, one must become a person of character who can become one with the Word, taking the place of Jesus. Disregarding all this, by simply believing, does one go to Paradise and become the bride?

Let us see whether it goes that way or not. We study the Bible. In studying the Bible, what is the issue? When you look at the Bible, is it that everyone is just like John 3:16? By no means. It is not so.

If God has grief, what is the greatest grief?

If God has the suffering of the cross, what is the greatest suffering? What is the greatest unjustly borne sorrow?

Knowing the Bible, one cannot settle this. There is no root, no root.

When we look at today's Bible, there is no root. It is a great matter. They have become princes who wander, fight, brand each other heretics, and counter heretics.

However much they may fight… are the branches to fight branches and the leaves to fight leaves? When autumn comes, all fall away. The sap of life extends outward, returns. Through what? Through the root. To know that, you must… As Peter, even while being crucified upside-down, called out "Lord!" you must lift out and form a bond with the content of the root by which, even in dying, one can communicate with the Lord in heart.

You must know what the situation was that was about to flow forth from the heart of Jesus on the way to the cross, going to the place of his death, when he said, “Father, not my will, but Your will be done.”

If you do not know, you are dead, dead. It is a time to resolve the unresolved problems of the Bible. Is it not so? All has been given, yet you have not resolved all and still ask for what more? The Last Days have come. You must clearly understand that now.

Therefore, when Jesus came to this earth, he came to seek the bride. "The purpose," he cried out, standing forth before the opposing people of Israel, was not the individual purpose of “believing in Jesus and going to Paradise.”

The purpose was, “Believe in me and save Israel.” You must understand that. You must clearly understand that. “Believe in me and save Israel; let Israel believe and save the world.”

Jesus came to save the spirit world and the earth. Believing in Jesus does not mean that I alone go to Paradise. It is wholly out of line.

Where is there such a purpose of goodness?

Even in our belief in Jesus, we must believe for the sake of the people. Even in my loving God, I must love for the sake of the world. If God exists, He would long for such a believer. What do you think?

Reverse your thinking. If God's providential will, in looking at the responsibility to complete the public work (公業) of the great cosmos, is to mobilize many peoples, link conscientious people, take a single form, and liberate the sovereignty of goodness, then it must not be for the sake of my individual self.

What is for the sake of the individual breaks apart. It falls into the fire. That must be broken. If it is not broken, God perishes. A religion for the sake of one's own clan or one's nation must be broken. If it is not broken, then God does not exist.

Therefore, today's worldwide Christianity has come to a time of confusion. This is not done by human power. God must break it. Why? Because God's purpose differs from the position and value they hold.

When we cry out the ideal of unification and come forth, what we believe is not for the sake of “I believe and go to Paradise.” We must sever this.

If, by my believing, the people are saved, and the saved people go to Paradise, would I go to Paradise or to hell? The direction of faith has been turned upside-down; therefore, there are many convolutions. You must understand that.

Our Unification disciples — “What I believe is for the sake of saving these people; what I believe is for the sake of saving this humankind and this world; and going further, since God is in grief, it is for the sake of liberating even God's grief.” Those of you who do not know say, “God is some omniscient and omnipotent God…” But all that is because they do not know. To know the entire intent of the one speaking here, you must study this. “Ah, God was grieved.”

Where did your grief come from?

Our joy and anger, sorrow and pleasure, came forth from Heaven. So it is. Therefore, let us be driven to the highest degree among the driven.

Receiving the opposition of countless religious people, we must not become a company that vanishes in it. When we go forth crying out for the multitudes, if a single flame burning there has the content that can overturn the hearts of the multitudes, then we live.

Therefore, today's era is the era of the Word of heavenly law. The time has come to seek the Word—the era of the Word. To seek the Word and become the bride, one must pass through the figure of subject and object. The one who wishes to become the bride must, in terms of character, be such a person of character whose daily emotions can blend, having passed through all the contents of the heart Jesus passed through. Is there such a person?

Unless a Movement of Restoring Attachment to the Word Arises upon This Earth, There Is No Way of Life for Humankind

When we look into the heart of the spiritual world, Jesus has been infinitely longing to come again. You must understand that. God has been waiting two thousand years. In Jesus's time, when they asked when the Lord would come, was it not all spoken?

They thought he would come while they were yet alive — but because the foundation of heart for facing the ideal of the Second Advent had not been formed, weaving a course of han-filled sacrificial history, raising the time and the person, looking toward the time when it could move worldwide, He has come this far seeking, for two thousand years.

Where lay the situation that, although Heaven's heart for the Second Advent was earnest, He could not come? Because you were ignorant — and going further, because you were unfeeling. That is so.

When the Lord comes upon this earth, he comes intending to govern all nations; yet your view of faith says, “I receive salvation and go to Paradise.”

Becoming such a small-minded person, do you call yourself the bride?

It is a lack of common sense, a lack of common sense. Jesus is the King of Kings, the Lord of all that is, the Crown Prince of God. He is the prince of God, the prince. You must understand.

Today, even being the son of a president becomes a thing of pride; how much more so for the unprecedented and unrepeatable historical principal subject, the principal subject of the era, the principal subject of the future, the subject standing in the seat of glory — the only-begotten son of that Absolute. We must become his bride, his bride. Yet there is no such absurdity as this.

The content Jesus told us to believe is not for sending you, the individual, to the personal Paradise. To “believe” was his appeal regarding the entire cosmos. You must know that it was a Word flowing forth through the content of Jesus's ideal, pierced deeply into the cosmic Heart.

Standing in such a state, he longed for an upright soldier of Heaven who would go forth fighting the world of death and the world of sin. You must know that, as such representatives, the figure of the seventy disciples went forth toward the Roman Empire.

You all, there is such a saying. Believing in the Word of the Bible of Jesus, knowing such content, becoming my self of character, in heart facing all the people, while shedding my blood, blessing even my enemies, one must hold a heart greater than that of mother and father. Even by ordinary standards, such a viewpoint cannot help but be made clear.

Then have you seen such a person?

Have you seen such a shepherd? Have you seen such a believer? The matter lies there. Therefore, if there is a company that breaks through such a place by all means, that company shall not perish. Even if this hypothesis were true, if some sons and daughters go forth with such content, would Heaven punish them? In fact, that is so, in fact.

This is the time when one is exhausted in longing for the Word, exhausted from feeling the poverty of the Word.

Who is the one to awaken them?

When the Last Days come, the figure who comes seeking the company of the exhausted before the Last Days is the substance. The time has come when there is a need for a single leader who, in place of the Lord, knows how to release all that exhausted content, who, in place of the Lord, can settle my exhausted environment.

Looking at today's Christianity of the whole world, the cathedrals are large and the believers are said to be many, but it would not be an overstatement to say that even a few such people cannot be found in them.

What I wish to say before you is that we Unification disciples have already passed through every step that had to be passed through. We are a company that has gone forth in struggle, possessing a standard by which we can know how Presbyterian doctrine is, how Methodist doctrine is, how the New Testament currents come forth.

What is needed here now? What is needed is for this exhausted place of mine to be made to surge once again. This is the issue. When one has studied the Word and studied it again, and become exhausted and fallen by the Word once again, the confidence in the Word can be obtained.

Unless a new movement that proposes a movement of restoring attachment to the Word appears upon this earth, where shall this humankind, whose path is blocked, go? Having run and finding it blocked, must it turn and go around — but where shall it go?

We ourselves, standing today on such a death-rattle precipice… The time has come when we must understand that there is need of a movement that, for me, who am exhausted in the Word, exhausted in the life of faith, exhausted in church life, can newly stir up emotion in the exhausted Word and exhausted faith—and with a value better than that which has gone before, can stir up an attachment of heart toward the Word, allowing me to say, “Father, I have understood.”

You all, in this time of judgment, have said that the judgment of the Word, the judgment of character, and the judgment of heart shall unfold in the Last Days. To carry out the judgment of the Word, unless one establishes a single Word that can stir up the heart of the Word, that can stir up an attachment of heart toward the Word — unless this is established and then carried out, God is not God. To carry out the judgment of character, a standard for the judgment of character must be set up upon this earth. To do so without this, it is also not God.

To carry out the judgment of the heart, one must establish a single standard that can settle the standard of the heart. To do so without setting it up, all perish.

Looking at the time and the season in this way, this time is the era of judgment. Do you understand? It is the era of judgment, the era of judgment.

You all, now setting down what is in your hands, must ask, “What I now hold — is it not what the Father most loved?” It is time to receive an answer. Even if we hang ourselves and die, with such resolve to die, we must resolve this. The era of “It must be so” has passed.

The Mission of the Christian Is to Rightly Establish the Standard of Heavenly Affection in the Heart

Now is the time when, surging up once again in your heart, you must reflect on yourselves who are striving to advance toward something new. There — what you have most loved up to now…

When we look from the totalizing viewpoint of the heaven-and-earth fortunes adjusting their bearings, do I today hold attachment? Do I hold something of which I can say, “God, behold this”? Do I hold something of which I can say, “Master, receive this”? All has been lost. Though it seems we hold something, all has been lost.

Therefore, in the Last Days, the era of final settlement comes. Because it is the final era of judgment, we must turn one hundred and eighty degrees according to the angle centered upon the Word. Only when such a phenomenon arises does the nation live, the church live, or new work unfold.

So this is the humankind of the world standing in the era of judgment. What footing of attachment do your hearts hold of which you can boast to anyone? You must say, “Quickly, quickly, take me.” When we go before the Lord, my sons and daughters are precious, and whatever is precious — but can it be so? Such have the currents become.

Therefore, when such an era comes, there must arise one region and one people who, swept up nationally by such currents, stand in an environment in which they cannot but sever, suffering in representing the people, the nation, and the world's currents.

Today, looking at this worldwide, that is the Korean people, the Korean people. North and South are split apart, parents, wives, and children all separated. A breakdown of the heart has come forth.

Through Korea's June 25 War, an economic breakdown has come forth, an ideological breakdown has come forth, a policy breakdown has come forth, and a religious breakdown has come forth. But here we do not despair.

We must understand that undoubtedly, the will of Heaven for rising again stands before this people. Even in history, through the ridge of corruption, a new history begins.

Through the corrupt politics of these twelve years of this regime, the blood of new young people has boiled over. Once it has risen, the natural course is that a new history extends forth from there. Yet planted and seeded, it has not become rich soil with fertilizer scattered upon it; it is just the same. I am not speaking out of any desire of mine.

If there are young men and women whose hearts love religion, love God, love humankind, love the world, from where will they draw forth the blood spilled in the April 19 Revolution?

Hundreds of young people who held such hearts and prayed before Heaven shed their blood, but the hundreds of parents are even more grief-stricken than you are.

But where, in heart, is the company that, before the Father — more so than even those parents — appeals, “Let the price of this blood become the price of the lifeblood of this people; let it be left as a single pulse of fidelity, a miracle that Heaven can love, for the time of the law of heavenly principle”? Where is the company that weeps so? It is time to seek where they are.

Otherwise, these people cannot lift their heads. Only by commanding advance, presenting direction, and opening a new gate by which the mission can be fully carried out, can we cut through this path.

There must be, by all means, young men and women who fight, embracing God's neck. The young yearn for that. The company that has nowhere to go, that is exhausted and wandering, will by all means at some time see the beacon-fire of unification; if there comes a day when they receive a new shock from the flame of the beacon, they must not hesitate there but, presenting direction, must seek something with the content of heart that can keep pace with the heavenly providence.

How shall this be sought and established?

It is not human-centered. How shall the standard of heart that can stand in the place of heavenly affection be established?

This is the issue that today's Korean Christians must resolve, and the responsibility of the so-called personalities residing within the sphere of the various denominations or sects, or of those who revere the Tao.

If you have known the place where you must go, have known the position in which we stand and our purpose, have known what our value-bearing self is, weighed centering on Heaven, then you yourselves… Here we must seek new people standing in the place of earth and Heaven, and announce a Word that wells up from the heart. Is that Word a Word that can judge the historical Word? That is what is needed. So it must be. Not blindly, not blindly.

Today's people of society regard “Mr. Moon of the Unification Church” as a fool, an idiot, an immature one (未及者). But it is not so. To walk such a path, I have shed sweat and blood more than anyone, have inclined my head more than anyone, and have crossed several ridges of life-and-death struggle more than anyone.

With what resolve regarding myself, what conviction regarding myself, what practical evidence regarding myself shall I face humankind, face the people, and possess the confidence to fight any nation, any thought? I have agonized infinitely over such questions. Thus, I came forth bearing a sign that draws insults to such a place.

Only by Possessing a Heavenly Conviction That Can Move God Does the Blessing Descend

If here there is a God who has woven the histories of past, present, and future and has fought embracing them, then centering upon that God, when we ask what is the Heart of God who has woven through past blood, sweat, and tears; what is the Heart that, in this era, has carried out the will of God woven through tears, sweat, and blood; and what is the Heart of the future—even though you may not be able to speak, you must understand that the responsibility lies on you to bear witness with all the form you possess. God cannot bless the one without conviction. Heaven helps those who help themselves (自助者).

Even though Jesus appeared with an unworthy body, even though, with an anxious appearance, he became the teacher of poor fishermen on the shores of Galilee, before any law-teacher, Pilate, or anyone… in the heavenly conviction he held, he held a conviction that could move even God's Heart. Because that conviction was a conviction that humankind needed, as long as the bond of the Word through that conviction remains, until the purpose of that Word is concluded, it is an inevitable fact that we must form a relationship with him.

Therefore, today Christianity has developed as a worldwide religion. You must understand that. We must hold the conviction to fight, facing the people, the conviction to push through any opposition that may arise in the world. All the more, we Unification disciples… The one who speaks here does not need many people.

The era of cannons has passed. Now is the era of atomic cannons. Working, shedding blood and sweat, when one falls midway, one must hold such a conviction that the whole village splits open.

Have you become such people, possessing such confidence and such conviction?

That is the issue. From this standpoint, holding the Word-content that says, “This is the Father's Word, this is the truth the Father seeks; without this the world cannot be saved,” armed with conviction, facing the created world—since He commanded that one have dominion over all things as a master would — we must hold the confidence with conviction that we can boldly carry out the exercise of that dominion.

If, with confidence, not violating the position one stands in, standing in a place where heaven and earth bow their heads to its value, some sons and daughters face Heaven and call “Father,” He does not say, “You wretch, you are a deluded one.”

From what I see, being driven and pursued is a thing of gratitude. The truth has never yet, by being insulted and reviled, perished. There is no law by which it has been struck down and exterminated.

This begins as utterly small, but from one to two, from two it spreads. Heaven does not begin grandly but works without speech. It does not work to boast, but it works without sound. Only in this way does the Unification Church truly become…

The Unification Church has been a problem until now, but henceforth Christianity shall be the problem. Forgive me for saying so. As you well know, Christianity's problem grows large. Watch and see.

However tall the brick walls are built, however one might do it, it must accord with reason. Truth is reason. It is a reason, but not the reason for personal life. It is the reason for worldwide life, the reason for cosmic life. You must understand. As to truth, it is not truth merely because one interprets a single verse of the Bible well. Do not boast.

The reason for life that can live together with God — most ordinary-seeming yet most exalted, most universal-seeming yet possessing infinitely vast value — is the cosmic truth.

Standing in the standard of such truth, you yourselves must save the people and save the nation. You must become those who can move Heaven, move the earth, and turn back God's Heart.

Only those who become such can draw the Lord forth, even if he goes to America. Even to a country like America, though God may wish to give blessings, He cannot. Why? Because the heavenly kingdom is taken by force, by the strenuous. Let there be just a few such people.

When there is a great bundle of blessings in this world, one can press one's claim. In fact, it is so. Nothing is impossible to those who believe. If there is anyone who, possessing the qualifying conditions of the bride, possesses truth-content that can move God to tears and stir all the heavenly realm, through that one, the Lord can come.

Such a person, who, holding the Father's hand, calls “my Father” without hesitation, restores the parent-child bond as Father and child, and in the place where, having opened up all the historical sorrow, suffering, and difficulty pierced into the past for the sake of seeking out the son lost for six thousand years, he can call the Father's name and call himself son — if there are even three such principal subjects who have experienced the bond of heart standing before this people, the worldwide Christianity is resolved through them. I believe so. Furthermore, I know it so.

The Unification Disciple Who Must Stir Up a Movement of Attachment to the Word and Awaken This People

I tell you, however many Christians there may be, however many seekers of the Tao there may be, the point at which the final spiritual world problem and the final human heart problem can be resolved — without the Unification Church, it cannot be resolved.

We must be the ones who, with this confidence, come forth and say, “Let us unify.” To bring this forth, we must pass through the process of the judgment of the Word, so I must be judged in this Word. To seek the Word, one passes through such ridges of death where bloody tears flow.

Even in praying to seek the Word, one must offer a prayer that yields to no one. Gritting the teeth, actually lifting the face, all things… such prayer that, unless heavenly principle acknowledges it, absolutely cannot be done…

If there are people who, having sought such Word, lead a true life of faith upon this earth, they must cry out, “My respected brother! How is your heart-standard?" — and if I say, “This Word is right,” when I call “God!” I must hold the content of a Word that can teach me God's answer of “Yes.” If, before our people, before you, it is a truth that cannot be believed, such truth is already passing. It passes.

You all, today, having entered the Unification Church, will have felt something. If you have felt something, reexamine that. Do not believe blindly. If you do not change here, you must travel around the world and come back. That is what I wish to say. Only then can one resolutely command. In that sense, you who are here, because you have heard the Word…

For me, who speaks today, in comparison between the unseen world and the seen world, in passing through the process of the judgment of the Word, because I have settled some matters of victory in the unseen world, in the seen world, I am passing through this standard. Spiritual completion and bodily completion, completion of the formless world and completion of the earthly world, must be achieved; therefore, here, countless enemies all appear. Therefore, we must pray. I long to hear the 2.4 billion humans appearing and saying they will drive away the Unification Church.

From this viewpoint, when you appear, in the figure that has come forth in place of heavenly affection, holding the content of “I alone, we alone shall go before the Father, yielding to none,” the multitudes of humankind who do not hold that bond cannot but move. They cannot but move.

All the spiritual content by which they can move is in place. Therefore, it is called Spiritual. It is the World Christianity Unification Spiritual Association. Some, hearing "Spiritual,” think of magic, but it is not so. Through reasonable content…

Thus, you, together with the Word… After that comes the era of passing through substance. The one speaking here has fought for forty years of his life thus far. I am anxious lest, in the moment of my falling, the emotion of regret remain regarding what I might have done before the Father, pouring out all my passion.

If, in this work, I had held some personal desire by any means or method, I would receive Heaven's punishment. Had it been so, it would have already perished.

From the era of Japanese rule, in the historical course of decades, this play has been carried on. Wherever I went, I spent time in prison. Wherever I went, I was mocked. But I have no enemies.

Why must this be so?

Because the law of heavenly principle is that one passes through the era of passing through the Word, one must by all means pass through the process of passing through substance. The path of Jesus's cross remains; the standard of grudge-bearing han upon this earth. Think of it. It was said that Abel's blood appeals — but would the Prince of God, the King of Kings, only weep and shed blood and appeal upon this earth? Would he not? The bloody tears of Jesus appeal.

Where shall the appeal of the bloody tears be indemnified?

Today's believers — until now, this Christianity has appealed and indemnified through bloody warfare to connect the true blood of Christianity. To this end, when we go in bearing all such issues, we cannot but walk the path of the cross that has been left behind. From your perspective, this place where I now stand may seem a good place, but even if you should leave this place currently and become a prisoner, there must be no psychological change toward it. With such conviction, one must go forth.

Today we have, on the stage of present reality, the misfortune of having to resolve the Satan world. We must resolve this. You must understand the boundless tears the Unification Church has shed to take this form today. Even one fact contains blood and sweat.

We have not moved for God's sake, using something left over after others had used it. We have come forth not eating, going hungry and pursued, naked and trembling. Today, in this form, we have come forward bearing the conditions for proposing the people's matter.

Even in this, we have kept silent. It cannot always be so. When such a time comes, in the new culture, through my truth, we must stir interest before these people whose intellects have lost interest, and we must unfold a movement that can stir up attachment of heart. Putting this into practice, we must encourage these multitudes who have lost attachment to the nation or attachment to our ideal world. The time has come when, if not, even by holding a memorial rite, we must awaken them; we must go forth burning with a national mission of returning them into a people whom Heaven can embrace.

For you to appear, through the Word, as one bearing the Word that can judge the established truths up to now, you must first hold conviction. Holding conviction, holding that substantial body, when you collide head-on with the betraying enemies, you must possess the capability to plainly admonish them in a free and peaceful environment.

If even that is disbelieved, you must hold the conviction by which, scattering blood, you can show yourself before Heaven as an offering, to prove the true and the false. Now, Unification disciples must possess that. You must understand that.

We Must Grasp God's Heart Through Experience and Inherit God's Legacy

We must become masters of the Word that can move daily life, of the love that can move the substance of daily life, of the heart that can give rest to the troubled foundation of the mind in daily life.

As such a company, with Heaven as our background, on the foundation of historical past, present, and future hope, if we have become a company that can run toward a principled course unchanging from a clear starting point to purpose, you shall absolutely not perish. From this standpoint, you must by all means go forth. Therefore, this time is the time of judgment of truth, the time of judgment of character, and the time of judgment of heart. Looking at the outward phenomenon, looking in light of the providential conditions, that is how it stands.

Now when you go forth holding fast to this Word and fight, when you cry out this Word, holding in your heart the heart of the Word — feeling, until this Word that is spoken here, this Word we speak, came forth, the tragic state of the hidden convolutions, with a heart full enough to give thanks before Heaven — when you go forth for this Word, in every place you go Heaven shall be with you. There is no doubt. Heaven shall be with you. In every place you go bearing this Word, in buried hearts a revolution arises.

From the revolution of conscience, you shall have the confidence to hold the revolution of the heart. Because of confidence in this, even the one speaking here today…

And again, when we look at our fallen descendants, we possess a fallen nature. What are the four conditions of fallen nature? Pride, jealousy, anger, and falsehood. Pride, envy, anger, falsehood — these are fallen nature.

You also must cast these off. To cast these off, all this fasting and great striving has been done up to now. To cast these off, in the era of judgment of the course of restoration, what must be done?

I must arm myself with the Word and become the substance of the Word. To pass through the process of substance, one must by all means cast off the fallen original nature. Here, the four conditions remain, and to cast them off, persecution must be received and trial must be received. You have remained on such a path until now.

When we look from such a place, only there does one come to feel that the Father has labored thus today to save us.

So only in that place does one grasp the Heart through experience. By looking at the Bible, one absolutely cannot know it. In prayer, one can experience it endlessly.

One must be able to bury within oneself a heart that can substantially call “Father” — a heart that, within the daily emotions, can call “Father” before the enemies. Receiving much persecution, in the course of fighting, on this stage of practice, you must do well.

Therefore, you cannot help but go out and fight. You must understand that until now this fighting has been carried on to save one of me.

Since it has been so, since I have known that God labored six thousand years to seek this one of me, I, the one now found, or as a figure in place of truth, must become the confidence that can cross over the standard of judgment.

God's will is not yet completely concluded centering upon my individual being today. Beyond me, the people remain; beyond me, the world remains; beyond me, the universe remains. Knowing this, Heaven cannot but think that we must shed sweat and blood beyond measure, must shed tears, must cross the ridge of death.

After grasping through experience the heart of becoming Father and son and daughter, before the Father, one must become a filial child.

To become a son and daughter, what must one do first?

One must become one who inherits the Father's legacy and become one who leads the Father's children. So it must be.

Even though my individual self, on the vertical side, has formed the parent-child bond with Heaven in a vertical relationship in my individual self, in me, one must become one in a vertical relationship.

Suppose that, centering on the brotherly relationship, we have stretched out through the people up to now. But for us now, since we have resolved the vertical issue, we know that there remains, on the horizontal issue, the brotherly course, the single labor of seeking brothers; therefore, today we feel the responsibility of becoming the true filial sons, loyal subjects, and virtuous women. Therefore, we must inherit the Father's legacy.

To inherit the legacy—what kind of inheritance?

We must inherit a legacy by which we cannot but save the brothers. In saving these brothers, you must understand that there remains land Heaven must cross over, ridges of tears Heaven must cross over, ridges of death Heaven must cut through.

One Must Go Forth into the Place of Aggrieved, Indignant, and lonely circumstances to receive the Inheritance

I see that you, of the Unification Church, who went out, witnessed, and fought during these forty days, will have grasped through experience the heart of the individual. And — knowing how the Father labored to seek this one of me, and with what Heart the Father, regardless of the path of tears, the path of shedding blood and sweat, the path of death, came to save this unworthy body of mine through the long years of six thousand as if a single day — I see these forty days as a period in which, in places of persecution, of hunger, and of boundless sorrow, with no one to acknowledge you, holding fast to grass roots, gazing upon the mountains and rivers, together with the passing breeze, pierced by such a heart, picturing the Father's figure, you bowed your heads before the Father's Heart, calling “Father” with tears — a period of such grasping-through-experience of heart.

Then is it concluded thereby?

We have come to know much that we did not know up to now. By the words “heart, heart” that have been cried out, you have come to know what heart is; by the words “Word, Word, substance, substance” that have been cried out, you must have come to know what they mean.

So you, in the side of your heart, once again before the Father's will, having been recognized as true sons and daughters and having taken up a new resolve — what shall you do here? “

Now, having stood as the Father's son, Father, please give a blessing.”

If we are in the position of receiving the blessing, what shall you yourselves receive as a blessing? You must inherit the Father's great work.

For that, what must you yourselves do? It is not to inherit the joy and glory within God, within the Heart of God. You must first inherit the grief, suffering, and unjustly borne sorrow within God.

Where are the filial son and virtuous woman?

Anyone is filial in joyful times. You must become sons and daughters who can be filial in unjustly-borne, indignant, lonely, and grief-filled times. To do so, knowing the grief in the Father's bosom — beyond God's grief — you must shed bloody tears. “If, embracing blood without dying, in one year I can indemnify all at once what You labored for six thousand years, send me.” You must hold such a conviction.

Now we have the responsibility of going forth once again for the fight of righteousness. The one before you who hands down such Word and encourages you also has a sore heart.

On this circuit course, watching little ones who, shedding sweat and blood, were driven out of village after village, placed in tragic circumstances, sobbing with falling tears — the heart of this teacher is sore.

I wailed inwardly. “God! If this path is false, a wrong path, something that came forth by my will, I know that I shall instantly receive Heaven's punishment.” So I said. He receives Heaven's punishment.

Knowing that there is a mission from which I cannot turn back, even were I to turn back, that I cannot fail to walk even in death; knowing that the tragic state of the people and the hand of God's labor regarding these people is hidden, there is the will to walk this path.

If anyone had any comparative vision and intelligence, they would not have wished to walk such a path. But looking at the situation and convolutions remaining, one cannot help but walk. When I fell with tears, Heaven counseled me. When I was driven and pursued in such places, Heaven, with its embracing love, made me firm with the responsible conviction that there is nowhere else to go but here.

Whenever I remember this path, I know that you would shed tears in every place you went. I knew that you would have to sweat in every place you went. Sending you out, what I prayed before Heaven was, “Father, if there are tears, these have been shed for the true heavenly will; if there is sweat, it has been shed—since it has been said that Abel's blood, in place of the cosmos, sighs, and appeals to set up the goal of goodness, I know that there shall by all means come a day when their sweat and tears shall appeal before this people and this era.” I sent you out, resolving in my heart many times.

Sweat shed with utmost sincerity, with sincerity, does not vanish. Tears shed with sorrow of heart, loving the people and loving the will, are not unheeded. When I lamented as one whose life was about to die, as on a final cliff, before a closed gate, I knew that Heaven opened the way to walk; therefore, I drove you into such a place.

We have nothing. We have no money. We have no power. We have not a single friend in the world. Parents oppose, kindred oppose, brothers oppose, established believers stand in our way and oppose — it is a place where all has been lost.

Since the bond with the world and attachment to the world have been entirely severed, when one finally considers this single hour of fortune in which heavenly fortune can simultaneously appear, one offers thanks for the truly fitting form in which the Father has set me forth, and I hope that, whenever you stand in such a place, you will not become one who falls and despair.

The Unification Disciple Who Must Walk the Path of Sacrifice for Heaven, Earth, and Humankind

In every place where you have left a trace with the living Word, with living substance, with a living heart, today, if the people of the earth oppose, you must feel a sense of responsibility that, by mobilizing the entire spirit world, this must by all means be accomplished.

I know that, on the condition of the tears you shed and the drops of sweat, the indemnifying history of the struggle of goodness shall unfold. Even if humans oppose, the multitudes of souls in the spiritual world, the multitudes of good spirits who have appeared in place of God, are on the side of the Unification Church.

If you cannot believe this, pray. Whenever you shed tears, so the Father, hearing this word, shall guard your side in your distress, counsel those who do not know to believe, and when, in the lonely and pursued place, hesitating to open up the environment alone, He shall raise a protector to guard your environment—so I know.

With such living, substantial experience, we must go forth with the new resolution and new resolve that surge up here. Until now, we have stood up for the Church, but from now on, the time has come to stand up for the people, to stand up for the world.

Until now, the Unification Church has come forth bearing the sign of one denomination in place of Christianity, on the foundation of churchly truth. But today, to save these people, we must be the company; without us, it cannot be.

We must come forth on the path of life of these people and at once stand as the prince of victory, achieving a figure that we can boast of before heaven and earth. To do so, I have known there must be many tears here. I have known that there must be much sweat, and that there must be much sacrifice. The time has come when, with a hungry body as ground, holding fast with hungry hands, we must lift high the hands of new resolve and pledge and stand before the Father.

Now, in going forth, we must inherit the Father's legacy and carry out the mission of resolving the eternal grudge for the sake of saving the brothers. Now that we know such a mission, you must look straight with your eyes.

Now that we know such a mission, you must look straight with your eyes. You must look straight at the face, look straight at the pierced heart. Toward whom? Toward God. The point of resolution lies here.

Whenever you visited holding leaflets in the dog-days of midsummer, you lived shedding sweat. Or, driven by the environment, you lived weeping in places of hunger. I am grateful. I am grateful. For me, there were no parents, no friends, no teachers, and no environmental life of any kind — only a lonely heart.

Wholly alone, God and I… Standing alone before a sad, wilderness-like heaven and earth, gathering my heart and calling “Father,” in that place of weeping, the wind that blew in was my friend.

The sunrise of the eastern sky was the friend of my heart; the soil that lay piteously was my friend; the nature in view was my friend. If you have felt this, you can find a new self here, and once again take up a resolve in which new value and a new bond surge up.

With this resolve, to resolve this grudge, it is not enough for me alone to bow down and pray; I must by all means hold fast to these people and, even offering up the entire clan, hold fast to Heaven and shed tears, sweat, and blood. I see that you have made such a new resolve.

Now, if there is to be a final settlement condition of Heaven, it is not some condition of the biblical Word. Through this Word, inheriting God's legacy, in place of the brothers and in place of eternity, have you become the master of a heart that can shed tears?

Have you become a person of character of heart who, even shedding sweat your whole life, will not regard it? If not, even at the cost of becoming a sacrificial offering by shedding my blood, have you become a single figure of heart who will go? Such must I become.

When the Unification disciples place their hands upon their breasts and feel the throb that resounds and the beating pulse, this blood shall, on some day, at some hour, be cut off. When asked for whom this is cut off — if it is for me, it shall be eternal han.

On the day it is cut off, if this blood and pulse are for the sake of humankind, Heaven, and earth, then here, even though you struggle to go to hell, you shall go naturally to Paradise. The aim of the life-course the Unification disciples must walk is this. The aim of one's life is this!

At any time, I must go out to the place where one works, shedding blood and sweat, holding a hoe or a hammer. There, together with the Father, I must shed tears and sweat. What it is for is not for me.

If I find myself in a place where, unable to accomplish this great work of the cosmos, I am sad in heart with humankind, sad in heart together with Heaven for the lack of result — together with the Father, together with humankind, together with history, scattering blood—if I conclude this work—if there arises before this people, in each village, even one such company, only one such person, it shall not perish. Those who do not wish to take part here, leave. The one speaking here is not speaking these words from a comfortable place. Since I am so, you must also be so. Because I have lived so and am fighting so, you must also be so.

Embracing in our bosom all the fortunes of life of the universe, gripping them with our hands, let us not let go. On the day of releasing this heart held in our bosom, heaven and earth perish. Let us not release. Even at the cost of having my hand torn off, let us not release. Let us not become those who lose.

Become a Master of Heart Who Walks the Path of Blood, Sweat, and Tears

From this standpoint, now return to yourselves and reflect. Reflect on from what standpoint Heaven has guided your individual self. Think of the aim toward which He has guided you from your heart. You have cried out the issue of the heart for over a year and six months, or nearly two years.

Knowing that this is the time when truth, character, and heart must all at once be presented as the conditions of accusation before God; knowing that to wholly bring this single standard to its conclusion, one must give all of blood, sweat, and tears; this time, preparing some condition of number that can stand in place of the bearing of heaven and earth, I sent you out before the multitudes.

Going out from now, you, embracing this conviction, holding in your bosom the standard of one original family that can stand in place of the great cause of heaven and earth, when you go out and fight—in every place you go, the providence shall change immensely.

If it cannot be done by people, the spirit world moves on your behalf. You must have testified too much this time.

Strange things abound. You must have heard much strange news. Centering upon one's individual self that is of less value than a worm, holding fast to that theoretical heart and going forth, when one sees how this moves through Heaven beyond one's own environment—what a wonderful fact this is.

So, since you have returned, from now on we must conclude and resolve the arming of the heart, the arming of the Word, and the standard of character. In such times, we must hold a single inheritance of authority before Heaven, with the conviction that, when we believe and bless, it comes to pass as we have blessed.

Standing before such a standard in place of the heart of son and daughter, since we have gone forth toward the Satan world in place of God's greatness, let us resolve.

When entering a village, we must not lose to those who labor for that village. We must not lose, having entered that village. Lose at what? Not fighting. We must not lose in shedding sweat and shedding tears. Going further, we must not lose in sacrificing. Therefore, we must not eat, holding a sterner resolve. You must sacrifice. Thus, from now on, for three years, you must understand that you must go forth in total unity.

Finally, why do we need blood, tears, and sweat? History has fought through these. The history of humankind has been woven through shedding the sweat of goodness, through tears, or through blood.

Yet up to now Christianity has cried out blood and cried out tears, calling for repentance. Centering upon the blood of Jesus, tears have flowed, but to what is here, sweat must be added. Sweat must be added.

This time, since many people have established churches in two hundred and ten places, we must take responsibility for them. Now that such a foundation has been formed, we are placed in a position from which we must by all means proceed. You yourselves now look.

Whether viewed historically or viewed in terms of the will, we stand in such a position. Then here, what shall our blood do? It must become God's glory. Your blood is God's.

God demands the price of our blood. Humankind demands the price of tears, and the earth demands the price of sweat. Why is this? Many people, coming to this earth, have shed much sweat in the evil world. This humankind has shed many evil tears up to now. They have shed much evil blood. Therefore, by the principle of indemnity, this earth must by all means be washed by the sweat of us good people.

Today, humankind must by all means be washed through the tears of good people. We must by all means repay before God with our blood.

From now on, the daily creed of life of the Unification Church must be my blood for Heaven, my tears for humankind, my sweat for the earth. With such a feeling of daily life, embracing this and calling “Father!” — “I am the son, so it was so; You are the Father, so it was so” — establishing the foundation of the heart that, because such a parent-child bond exists, one cannot but be so; all things are concluded. You must understand.

Let us establish, in every place we go, the tears of the heart, the sweat of the heart, the blood of the heart — that this is the duty and responsibility of you who go forth to fight from now; you must clearly understand. Do you understand? “Yes.”

Why must this be so? When I went around South Korea, I felt this all the more acutely. The people of the towns through which I passed, village by village, are exhausted to the limit. They have been deceived much. They have been deceived by hypocrites, deceived by those with fists, deceived by religious people — they have been deceived in every way.

Now only the bare bones and flesh remain to them; they have lost feeling. To stake the issue of land and save these people, you must understand that you must go forth bearing something.

You must go forth bearing truth before the company that has been deceived. Now, more than words, we must put it into practice. Before speaking, with a pierced heart, weeping and holding them, you must become possessors of a bosom that can shed tears, calling, “Brother!” “Compatriot!”

When we come to know that these people have become so tragic, that these people have nothing to lean on, we must become masters of a heart who know how to wail at the inability to support oneself.

Holding fast to these people, since the road they walked is blocked, we must open up at least the road by which they can turn back and return — feeling this so acutely, you must understand the agony of one who, as a teacher, speaks before you words difficult to speak, difficult to emphasize. If there is glory that Heaven possesses, I do not desire it. For your sake…

If you go forth and fight, in every fighting course, those tears must be the Father's tears, that sweat must be the Father's sweat, and when hungry, fasting, drying up the blood, you shall appeal. Upon that figure, Heaven works.

The body of our true comrade is humble. Therefore, as you know, of the Unification Church, I have not demanded material things. I have not demanded people. Holding fast to the hungry, I have sought one with whom to console them; holding fast to the pitiable, I have sought a place where I might rejoice with them.
