Jesus Left Everything Behind and Went

John 16:25-33; 17:1-26

Prayer
Father, we yearn for Your voice that commanded us. Please let that solemn voice that bid us go toward the highest goodness move our hearts again at this hour.

We yearn for Your sorrowful circumstances, in which You counseled us to walk the road of persecution that the Lord left behind, the road of suffering, the road of tribulation, the historical road of misfortune crossing over the summit of Calvary.

Father! Bowing our heads before the awesome grace by which You gather us, who have grown up as we pleased, lived as we pleased, and become as we pleased, and bid us take after the inner form of the Lord Most High, we beseech that You have mercy.

At this hour, we give thanks to You, who, having gathered us—full of sin, with nothing in our essence or nature, however we analyze them, that we can present before You—have bestowed measureless grace of blessing.

Please make us grasp through experience and demonstrate Father's sorrowful circumstances and heart, who requires only one earnest faith and one heart.

Father, now we have gathered; please look upon us with mercy. We do not desire to listen to any person's words. We have already heard many words and seen many people. We have faced many people and have visited the places said to be of grace, but, without their being bonded to ourselves, all has passed by. Grace passed by as Grace, and people passed by as people; what remains is we ourselves alone, like historical orphans. Therefore, we hope that a new spring breeze will blow.

How greatly Father longs to grant such grace! Please make us a multitude that gathers before Father's inner form with thirsting and impatient minds and a heart laid bare. Father, we earnestly desire and beseech.

What shall we say?

Before we speak, please let a piercing emotion that we ourselves cannot fathom be grasped through experience in our hearts; please cause our hearts, even unbeknownst to ourselves, to be wrenched, so that, shedding tears, we may weep aloud. We know that, unless Heaven moves, such a heart does not arise, and we know that one experience is more precious than ten million words.

The people of this present time will not listen to anyone's words. Having heard much and been deceived much, today's saints, the people of the Last Days, are those who, whatever the words, face them with a critical mind.

We know that the one thing — that which moves in the heart, which cannot be criticized however one tries, which cannot be helped however one tries — is the highest authority and the highest shield. We know that, by such grace, You have caused us to weep, You have caused us to repent, and You have caused us to submit.

Are there sons and daughters of Yours today who are not below Your knee but at a far distance? Please be with them. We know that, although it may be far when seen by the human eye, in Your sight it is not even a difference of one sheet of paper.

What thing is there that was not created by You, and when You move with the authority of life, what existing thing is there that is not resurrected? Make us, who are like a heap of skulls, become resurrected living bodies, and connect us all the more through one heart.

We have come to know through the Word that this is the highest purpose of the heavenly law of kinship. We have come to know through the Word that this way it is one, and that way it is one. We have come to know how greatly Jesus longed for a multitude that, prepared with one motive of heart, keeps the heavenly altar.

Now, our insufficient figures have come forth before Father; please let us return to the heart of a child. However much human beings know by learning, how much do they know? However much we are prepared with what we can boast of, how much is there to put forth in heaven? We know that there is nothing.

Father! Now is the hour of sharing the Word; please be with us. Father, we know that the Word read aloud a moment ago is the Word that, 2,000 years ago, when Jesus had lived more than thirty years on this earth and felt that not many days were left for him to remain on the earth, he, having gathered the disciples, entrusted them in prayer.

Father! Although these are at a far historical distance, please make them a multitude that knows how to face Jesus' inner form of that time with a sorrowful heart.

We know that, rather than excuses, facts; rather than facts, the grasping of heart through experience will be gathered after our death and will remain; therefore, please personally manifest Yourself upon us, who must become historical masters. We earnestly desire and beseech.

We do not desire many words; please do as Father wills, and let there be no gap between the heart of those who receive the Word and the heart of the one who conveys it.

When Heaven moves, may our hearts move; when Heaven rests, may our hearts also rest. We hope only to harmonize and move with Heaven and to be offered as one victorious, substantial body.

We commend to You the time that remains; please govern all. We earnestly desire that You also send down the same grace of blessing upon the family members in the regional areas; we have prayed in the name of the Lord. Amen.

All Existing Things Moving Toward One Purpose

We know that, however great a success a person may have on this earth, there yet remains another hope in him. Why is this?

Because, if there is the master who is the Absolute who set up all the fundamental truths of heaven and earth and created heaven and earth, there is no sage, no worthy, nor any other person, who can be said to have brought to its conclusion the standard by which even that Master can be moved.

That is, however much a person may be said to have made some success, from the fact that he hopes for something new, we may say so.

In the historical course, in every age, a leader who could lead the people of that age was certainly needed. Yet, although God bears the responsibility of fulfilling the goal of providence by sending leaders in every age, and every century and carrying out His administration, if He did not send such a leader, one could not say of that God that He is the God who loves human beings, the God who carries out the providence facing human beings.

Until today, in the historical course, there have not been many who have been able to say with confidence, “I have become such a person, and I have made such a success.”

There has been no one who did not bear the desire to make a success and have his name resound in his own age, but few have fulfilled it as they thought and planned.

Even among the figures who, in the historical course, raised the banner of a new revolution and led their age, there have been many who, swept along by the environment of their age and aided by the currents of thought of their age, fulfilled an epochal mission unbeknownst to themselves. We must know this.

From this viewpoint, however firm a self and conviction one may have, however one begins to act with the resolve to accomplish a goal, we may declare that it does not come about as one wills. Therefore, we cannot deny the fact that our destiny and the course of life are not pioneered by ourselves alone, but harmonize and advance with some great current.

It is a history that flows in such a position, and we are those who, in such a position, struggle to find the resolving point of ourselves—this we cannot deny.

We also cannot deny that the world is moving toward some place, moving toward some one moment. In other words, all existing things are advancing toward such a single moment, single place, and single environment as their hope and are advancing, yearning for something that, gathering this moment and this environment, can bring to its conclusion the purpose of human history. This anyone with common sense can fathom.

Then what sort of time is the present time, and what sort of environment is society?

And who will rule and lead this time and environment?

At this time, when democracy and communism stand opposed, what sort of time and environment is being formed? And, having formed the time and environment, what sort of leader is to be welcomed? This is a grave question that the intellectuals of the modern intelligentsia must agonize over.

It is a historical course that must inevitably pass through such a process. Why is this? Although human beings do not know it, this is because there is a master who, having set up one purpose, moves history. If there were no such master, this history could not flow toward the one moment of hope, that environment, and the center of the ideal.

Until now, each person's feelings were different, their historical backgrounds were different, and even their ways of life were different. But as history has flowed, humanity, transcending these things, breaks down the rigid foundation it had hitherto held, and is being swept along into some current of thought that revolutionizes all the structures of the age.

This is because, although outwardly the history of human beings has continued, behind it, there is the purpose of some absolute being. Therefore, human beings are being led, even unbeknownst to themselves, by the absolute purpose. We are placed in such a position.

The “Ism” That Can Remain at the Last

Today's humanity is going forth seeking such a moment. It is also going forth seeking the environment of peace. After finding and setting these up, it must seek one master who can lead humanity to the eternal world of the heart.

We must clearly know that history is flowing toward that. In fact, history is flowing thus. Then why has this created world come to be so? Because, although most seekers of the Way and great figures on this earth thought to take this world into their hands and lead the moment, they put it into practice only within one group or one people, within a limited scope, and could not accomplish that purpose from a worldwide position.

If God exists, such a great purpose must certainly be accomplished.

If the time when the worldwide great purpose can be accomplished does not come, God does not exist. He must move the time and move the environment, and have one person, centering on the heavenly law of kinship, govern all humanity.

If this cannot be, the world God created will remain in an incomplete state. Even the words “ideal of creation” or whatever else cannot be.

Even the words that the human being is the lord of all creation, or the master of all things, all become falsehood. Therefore, at the very last, the time when setting up such a One, He disposes of history, disposes of the age, sets in order the environment, and prepares character anew must inevitably come.

Observed from this viewpoint, one can know at once whether some religion or “ism” can become a worldwide one. Looking thus, Christianity is in a singular position. You, when you were born, were born as a Korean person.

There may be some who think it is extremely unfortunate to have been born as a Korean, but I do not think so. Why? Because, as long as there is a God who would seek and set up one purpose, one moment, and one environment, it is the same wherever one is.

Therefore, there is no need to lament that I was born in Korea. There is no need to lament that Korea does not accord with one's mind and feelings about life. There is no need to lament that there is no leader in Korea.

The only thing of concern is whether, when the one moment is welcomed, I have become one who can face that moment. Furthermore, when such an environment is welcomed, whether I have become one who can harmonize with that environment; when some new worldwide master appears, whether I have become one who can commune in heart with that One. These are the issues.

Hereafter history will flow, transcending clan-ism, transcending nation-ism, transcending state-ism, transcending some “ism” or current of thought, toward the converging point of heart. Your minds will also be so.

Even though the race differs, the bloodline differs, the heart is the same. The mind by which parents love children and children follow parents, the mind by which husband and wife love each other, the mind by which brothers and sisters look out for one another, are all the same.

Therefore, this mind has not been able to be revolutionized by any historical thing. Although thousands of years of history have passed, this principled standard alone runs forever toward the original substance.

Then, if there is one historical “ism” that can remain at the last, what kind of “ism” would it be? It would be an “ism” that can face all people with a heart greater than that of parents.

When an “ism” with such heart comes forth, the world becomes one. If, in even one place on this earth, a heart stronger than the force of young men and women longing for one another comes forth, the world is unified.

If a heart greater than that which, looking upon a beloved brother falling in the place of death, wishes to save him even by crossing the line of death, appears before this worldwide current of thought, the unification of the world is no problem. With any other doctrine, any other “ism," any other character, it cannot be done.

Therefore, when we analyze any organization or any denomination bearing the noun “religion,” a religion that disregards the heart has not remained in the historical course.

Christianity calls the Creator, the Absolute, “Father,” and calls all peoples the bride who must welcome Jesus. Then is there a father's love and a bride's love on this earth? There is not. On the day this appears, the world is unified. The history of sin is brought to its conclusion only by this. You must know this.

The Reason He Carries Out the Providence While Sacrificing Good Persons

Then why has God carried out the providence in the historical course while having the countless people who came forth calling His name be sacrificed and slaughtered before villains? What is the reason?

It is because there has not been an environment in which He could love. The conclusion is that. Why is He making them suffer thus? Because there is no condition in which He can love.

Although Jesus was called the Bridegroom, there was no person who, as bride, could love; although God was called Father, there was no person who, as son or daughter, could love — that is the reason. There is on this earth no one who is God's son, no one who is God's daughter, no one who is a family member of God's family, no one to receive God's blessing. Such a person must appear on this earth.

The electricity produced at a power station, if only the wires are connected, is transmitted even thousands of li. To produce electricity, there must be giving and receiving.

Plus (+) and minus (−) electricity must give and receive from each other for the light to come on. Heaven and earth, too, centering on a new ideal, must set up the heart-level standard by which they can give and receive; that this is not so is han.

However great a billionaire one may be, if there is not even one person whom one can love supremely, all the things one possesses are of no value. That God has handed over this earth to Satan was to find beloved sons and daughters.

Then with what did Jesus come to this earth?

He came to this earth bearing the heart-level “ism” and ideal. Otherwise, he could not be the Savior. He cannot be the Savior. Even if he were the Savior, he might be a Savior who can save external things, but he cannot be the Savior who, on the foundation of the heart, connects life. The true Savior must be one prepared with heart-level substance. We must feel that the Savior is One in such a position.

Going beyond today's reality, let us once more recall the age of our ancestors of humanity. The reason we today long for one moment, one environment, one central being is because we are descendants of the Fall.

If, before encountering the noun “Fall,” that is, before our ancestors Adam and Eve fell, the one moment that God set up had been fulfilled, what would it have been like? Think of it. There was a time when God said, “At a certain moment, I will fulfill such-and-such an environment, and I will set up such-and-such a leader.”

If unfallen Adam and Eve had welcomed the one moment in which, fulfilling God's blessing, they could rule all the cosmos, such a great sacrifice would not have had to be paid.

If, having welcomed that one moment, they had directed all things, and the entirety of the created environment had moved at their command, would there be the word “lamentation” for you today? All this is the recompense of the Fall. Not only that.

If our ancestors of humanity, Adam and Eve, had become the representatives who could welcome and rule the one environment and one moment that God set up, this world today would have become the world of Adam-ism. Centering on the heart, it would have become a world of one heart in which you and I can say we are brothers.

From the day the two-letter word "Fall" was made by the human ancestors, the human being utterly fell. To what extent did he fall? He fell to such an extent that there is not even soup. Looking at the inside, he is dead; looking at the outside, all is dead. He fell to such an extent that God could not even rummage further.

To these human beings, He gives medicine and gives injections to make them live again. What is salvation? It is to make alive again the one who has fallen and died.

Whether by giving medicine, giving an injection, pouring cold water, by whatever means, He would make us live again. This is the providence of salvation. Then, having made us alive, what will He do? He would have us share one moment with God, share one environment with God, share the leading work with God.

If God does not carry out such a providence, humanity becomes pitiful. Concerning this, when you come here and study, you will know more concrete and historical facts.

Human Beings Who Must Recover Time, Environment, and Sovereignty

Originally, God granted to human beings, from the one moment, the eternal moment; from the one environment, the eternal environment of victory; and from the one responsible authority, the eternal responsible authority. But because human beings fell, all this was lost. He lost the moment God would set up; he lost the environment God would prepare; he lost the authority of governing all things that God had set up for him. The history of humanity until now has been the history of seeking these out again.

But who is leading these fallen human beings?

The enemy is leading them. Although they are God's sons and daughters, the enemy leads them in the opposite direction. Lest the conscience of those who are being led in the opposite direction be moved away, the One who has labored over 6,000 years until now is God; and the sages and worthies who came and went on this earth, and our ancestors who strove to lay the foundation of the providence of life, have so labored.

But humanity, having lost the moment, having lost the environment, having lost the position of master to govern all things, with no place to lean, drifting like duckweed, pushed this way and that as the wind blows and the water flows, has wandered until now.

Now, ending the wandering, where must we go?

We must go forth to seek the blessing originally bestowed upon Adam and Eve by God. We must go forth to seek the environment in which God can, with joy, bless us, saying, “Yes! It is yours.” Next, we must inherit the authority, “You are my son and daughter; govern all things of heaven and earth.” Toward such a place, the world's humanity is advancing.

However much knowledge a person on this earth may have prepared, however skilled he may be, however completely the conditions in the background that allow him to do everything as he wills may be prepared, if he does not match the time and prepare the environment, he cannot accomplish what he aimed at.

From this viewpoint, what sort of time is the present time? It is the time when the entire world is advancing toward one. This world is advancing, yearning for some one environment.

The human being should originally, without falling, have prepared the time and environment and become the True Ancestor who fulfilled God's blessing. But because he could not become so and became a fallen ancestor, before all peoples, a good ancestor who has not fallen must appear. He can be Father even to the spirit persons in heaven, and Father even to those living on the earth. Such a One, Christianity calls Jesus of the Second Advent. We must clearly know this fact.

What is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb?

It is the feast in which He, coming as Father, sets up the Mother. The truth of Christianity is precisely that. The center of Christianity is Jesus, and the center of Jesus is love.

The center of the Bible is also love. The center of love is Bridegroom and Bride, and the center of Bridegroom and Bride is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

Then what is the central meaning of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb?

It is, having prepared the time and environment originally granted by God, to receive the blessing as the True Ancestors of humanity who can inherit heaven and earth. Since Adam and Eve did not fulfill this, it must be recovered and restored.

The world's humanity, because of the Fall of the human ancestors, has come forth struggling, unable to sever the affections of fallen parents, fallen brothers and sisters, fallen husband and wife.

If human beings had formed a bond of affection with unfallen True Parents, brothers could not hate brothers, and people would not fear people. Just as, since one is flesh and blood from the one root called God, even so small a part as a leaf cannot depart from the bond with the entire tree, so it would be.

Human Beings Who Have Become Stepchildren Before God

Then what is grievous and indignant?

It is that we have become stepchildren. We have become adopted sons. The adopted son and the natural son are different. Paul said in Romans 8 that we long to become adopted sons who, facing Heaven, facing the Lord, can call out “Abba, Father.” The adopted son's blood is different. The blood is different.

Therefore, God's Will is, in this final age of history, to settle the bonds of the Fall and, welcoming a new moment and a new environment, to fulfill the purpose of re-creation. To fulfil that purpose of creation, even though the moment and environment have been fulfilled, there must be a master who can rule that moment and environment. Therefore, God, pouring forth the highest energy, after unimaginable hardship, created such a master, our ancestor.

Long ago, God created Adam to become such an ancestor. But Adam did not become such a master. This is the Fall. Having fallen, he lost that qualification and lost his hometown (environment); therefore, it must be sought and set up again.

So God, walking the road of twists and turns over 6,000 years, after unimaginable hardship, has carried out the providence of pulling up from the very bottom the multitudes like a band of beggars. He has come seeking first those who, when they die, ought to go to hell. The age in which God sent servants and chose those on Satan's side as His servants and set them up was the Old Testament Age; the age in which He sent the Son and made those in the satanic world form the bond of son was the New Testament Age; and the age in which, finally, true sons and daughters prepared with the qualifications of parent are set up and blessed, is the age of the Lord of the Second Advent that is to come.

Will you go to the Kingdom of Heaven?

Do not say such things. Have you received the Lord's blessing? If you have not received the Lord's blessing, you cannot go to the Kingdom of Heaven. You cannot. This is not the word of the man speaking here.

The principle of Heavenly Law is so set. God, who granted the time and environment to Adam and Eve, although the human being went wrong and fell, is preparing one moment in preparation for the Last Days. He is pioneering one environment in preparation for the Last Days. Therefore, we must give thanks.

What is closest to one is two. Until now, two currents of thought have, fighting with each other, flowed forth toward something. Now, since the moment of one is near, it is the Last Days.

The world is communing East and West, and, transcending peoples, advancing toward the world of one ideal, toward the foundation of one heart-level bond.

Therefore, hereafter is the age in which heart-ism is cried out. It is not worldism. Beyond humanism, it is heart-ism.

Because human beings have lost the moment, God carries out the work of salvation. The work of salvation is the work of re-creation. Since it has been broken, it must be made anew.

If Adam and Eve had not fallen, all would have been connected by one root, but having fallen, they multiplied countless people with twists and turns of sin; therefore, He would graft these multiplied human beings onto one root.

As in the Bible's parable of the wild olive tree and the true olive tree, and the parable of the vine, He would graft them. The One who came to this earth as the trunk to be grafted is Jesus. History turns thus.

This present age is the time when the environment must be prepared, the time that all peoples of the world can call the Last Days, the time when the world must become one. Therefore, the words “world-ism,” “such-and-such an age,” and so on are coming to the fore today. God has been preparing such things until now.

In order to make such a moment, God has labored for 6,000 years, and at any time, if there is a multitude that absolutely believes in God, He seeks to pioneer such a time and environment and send such a master. Therefore, He chose the Israelite people and told them not to associate with the evil world but to follow His word. Having chosen Abraham, after 2,000 years of labor, He set up the Israelite people, and the One whom He sent there as the master is Messiah Jesus. The Savior.

Then, with what mission did Jesus come to this earth? He came bearing the original moment that God had granted to human beings in the Garden of Eden.

And what did he come to rule? He came as the King of kings to rule all nations and peoples composed of unfallen sons and daughters. Not in word only, but to take all heaven and earth into his hand and rule. To prepare for this, God labored for 4,000 years. Jesus, having appeared on this earth, from the time he came of age, said to the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the priests, “Follow me.” At that time, they should have followed, saying “Yes.” Did they?

The Israelite People Who Persecuted Jesus

The chosen Israelite people, since the Messiah they had longed for over 2,000 years had come, had to unite firmly as iron and stone, centering on that Messiah.

If he went east, they had to go east; if west, west; if their limbs were torn off, they were to be torn off together; if hung by the neck, they were to be hung together.

Was it not the Israelite people who prepared for 4,000 years for this? Yet how did those people, having welcomed the promised one moment, face the master?

They faced him in the manner of, “Hey, who do you think you are?” Jesus, having matched the time of Heaven and passed through the period of preparation of thirty years, in his heart certainly thought, “This is the time to save the people,” and came forth holding fast to the time God had granted; but the Israelite people on the earth, chosen with 4,000 years of labor, did not know the time of Heaven. Who knew? No one knew.

Since they were the Israelite people who did not know the time, they must go to hell. Of course, they must be judged. Therefore, they became Jesus' enemies.

The Israelite people, who should have stood up for the merit of goodness that God had laid down by sending countless prophets over 4,000 years, having them shed blood and be torn, to prepare the environment; the Israelite people, who should have stood up for the master who came bearing the time; the Israelite people, who should have become the foundation of the environment before the master who had come, instead betrayed Jesus and nailed him to the cross; therefore, they have had to suffer to death in every part of the world.

Jesus, to match the heaven-rooted time, prepared at the level of heart and yearning for that environment, strove day and night; but where was there a multitude that appeared to acknowledge and welcome the time he had prepared?

Where was the temple that Jesus came forth seeking, that should have become Jesus' environment?

Rather, looking at Jesus, they said he was possessed by Beelzebub. That such Judaism remains on the earth is grievous. God, having labored for 4,000 years, sent the firmly, firmly promised Messiah, but to think that they would so mistreat him! Jesus is, from Heaven's standpoint, One who came bearing the time of Heaven, One prepared with the background of Heaven, the Prince who held the sovereignty of Heaven, the Crown Prince of Heaven.

The Israelite people, who should have welcomed Jesus, who came prepared with the background of Heaven to govern the earth; the Israelite people, who, matching the time, should have prepared the environment, were instead urgent to break down the time Jesus would set up and to block him from pioneering the environment. Such was the sin our ancestors committed.

Did Jesus come to die?

If so, why did it take 4,000 years to send Jesus? Why did He do such a work, killing good ancestors?

Jesus, since it could not be helped, became the defeated general. Therefore, dying and rising again, he secretly sought the disciples and entrusted them, asking that the Will of Heaven be fulfilled, and went. This is precisely the starting point of Christianity. Jesus is the defeated general.

Coming to the earth, he is the loser who lost the moment, the loser who lost the environment. What is this talk of death before Jesus, who had the mission of fulfilling the moment and pioneering the environment?

The history of Christianity since the apostles is what came forth, hoping for that moment, hoping for that environment, to fulfill the mission entrusted to bring about that time and that environment. We must clearly know. Clearly. Jesus left everything behind and went.

If Jesus had welcomed the time and welcomed the environment on this earth and appeared as the Crown Prince, all heaven and earth would be governed under his hand. Yet did Jesus become so? He could not.

Jesus came as our True Ancestor of humanity, who must rule all the cosmos. Jesus is the historical ancestor who came to this earth 4,000 years after Adam.

Since he sought and set up by inverse course what was lost, he is the True Ancestor.

Since the first Adam failed and became the fallen ancestor, Jesus, who came as the second Adam, had to take all the laws of heaven and earth into one hand, set the time and environment in order, and then set up the heavenly sovereign nation and direct the people of this earth. Had it become so, we today would not be living in a fallen world. Then did he do so? He could not.

Therefore, Jesus, going, said he would come again, and bid us endure and wait. He did not say to receive blessings and live in comfort.

He said, “Take up the cross and follow me.” On this road, he said, the household members are enemies. He said, “The one who would gain his life will lose it, and the one who would lose it will gain it.

Christians have been a multitude who have lived as the driven in the back alleys of history. They are a multitude who have made promises in secret in the back alleys of history. God has gathered this multitude and made them the Second Israel. Therefore, Christianity has the mission of the Second Israel.

Then what is the mission that these Christians must fulfill?

Since the Lord came to this earth and lost time, the time must be sought. Since our ancestors, the Israelite people, lost time, the time must be sought. Since they lost the environment, the environment must be sought.

Having prepared the time and environment, they must possess the earnest heart of, “Master, please come quickly.” This is the important issue that the saints of the Last Days must fulfill.

Jesus, Who Left Behind the Time and Environment He Hoped For

Jesus has gone. How did he go? He came with a mission and left everything behind. He left everything and went. He left behind the time he sought, left behind the environment he sought to see, and left behind the sovereignty he sought to exercise.

Therefore, Jesus said,

"Become one this way, and become one that way. When the hour comes, I will not speak to you in figures, but will tell you plainly."

Jesus could not speak of the time. Why? Because, if before the enemy he were to say that he had come as the King of Kings, Israel, which was a colony of the Roman Empire, would not be able to bear it. Therefore, Jesus, although he felt that the time was at hand, could not speak of the time, and although he should have fought to lay the environment, he could not.

Was that the action that the multitude waiting for the Messiah should have taken?

It is the same now as in those days. Because the First Israel broke the foothold of the worldwide mission, after 2,000 years since Jesus left the time behind and went, only today has the time he left behind as hope come. Then what must the world's Christian believers, in the position of the Second Israel, do? They must know. The Jesus who comes again does not come seeking the Judaism of old. Do you think it would be so? It is not so. Judaism is the enemy. Did they not seize and kill Jesus?

Think for a moment of Jesus' heart. How greatly did he labor to find the time?

Even when he was being raised in the family of Joseph and Mary, several times he wished to speak about everything in the heavenly law of kinship.

Mary, having conceived as a virgin and borne Jesus while raising him and giving him the breast, did still consider him to be God's son and as a noble child whom God had chosen, but as the days went on, that mind faded, and she came to see Jesus as an ordinary child.

In Joseph's family, Jesus, unable to eat what he had to eat and unable to wear what he had to wear, worked as a prince of heart. But deep in his mind, there was a heart of yearning for the time.

Jesus, in preparation for the one time God had granted, to be prepared in inner, outer, and personal aspects with all that should be prepared for the one environment God had granted, longed for the time when he himself could appear before God or before all peoples.

Think about whether it would be so or not. At the age of twelve, Jesus went to the temple unbeknownst to his parents. But even his brothers, who should have testified before the many people of Jerusalem, scoffed and mocked him.

Jesus is not such a fictitious historical character as people today think. Even in the Bible, he was called a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of the sick, a friend of sinners and tax collectors — could such a thing be? Why was that the case? When you think of this, you must weep aloud. Why did Jesus become a friend of sinners and tax collectors? Jesus did not wish to be their friend. It was because there was no help for it.

How greatly Jesus longed for the priests to come before him, kneel, bow their heads, and worship, saying, “You are the King of kings, our leader.” But they rather pointed fingers at him. They cursed him as one who tramples Moses' Law and defiles the temple. Therefore, having no choice, he became the friend of sinners and the friend of tax collectors. Because the altar, built over 4,000 years ago, had collapsed, having no choice, it came to be so. The priests of that time will, at the great judgment, be the first called to be judged. Should it be so or not?

Until now, people have believed in Jesus blindly. Blindly. “Jesus died for us, so if we only believe, we are saved.” Simply and easily. But Jesus, when he conveyed the words of the gospel, could not eat, could not clothe himself.

How desperate must he have been to curse the fig tree when he sought to pluck its fruit?

Jesus was not at ease, calm, and well-fed. Far from it. That the lot of the Son of God would so plummet….

Originally, Jesus wished, before the city of Jerusalem, to trample the heads of Pilate and Caiaphas and cry out, “You wretches!” To do so, when Israel united and sought to kill him, he had to be able to raise even a riot.

When Pilate, trembling, asked, “Do you wish that I release Barabbas, or Jesus?”, if all the priests of Israel had become one centering on Jesus, then, just as God gave the rod of authority to Moses, who led 600,000, and worked, the work of God would have been with Jesus too.

It was Jesus who lost the time. It was also Jesus who lost the environment. Having no place to be, he wandered from house to house and visited the houses of widows like Mary Magdalene. It was not in a natural time like today, but 2,000 years ago.

A woman poured ointment worth 300 denarii on Jesus' feet and wiped them with her hair. Could such a thing be permitted? Hardly. How heart-rending Jesus must have been! What was Jesus' heart, driven to such a place?

“The 4,000-year history is being trampled. Here is the place where the historical foundation that God labored for, that countless prophets shed blood to lay, is being broken.” When he thought of this, the desire to curse pierced him, but Jesus sealed his lips.

If he cursed, the labor of God of 4,000 years would be cut off; therefore, even though the foundation prepared for him should fall, he would take responsibility, and so closed his mouth. Whenever Jesus was sad or in difficulty, he wandered alone on the Mount of Olives and prayed; he wandered in the Garden of Gethsemane and prayed. Is this what the Son of God should do?

Jesus should have firmly set up in that age a new view of life, a view of the world, and a view of the cosmos that could promise the happiness of human beings, and then gone; did he do so? Can you say clearly what Jesus' view of personality is? It is vague. Did he say, “I have come bearing such-and-such an ideal and have ruled this earth”? Did he say, “I have set in order the time and environment and ruled in such-and-such a way”? He could not. Jesus is the one who vanished as a defeated one.

Jesus came to this earth and spoke for three years. But not one of those words was fulfilled. What became of the disciples he led for three years? In the end, they all disbelieved. The disciples whom he raised for over three years, pouring out all devotion, cutting his flesh and blood, and sharing joys and sorrows, were like that.

The Teacher went his way, and the disciples went their way. In the end, Jesus left everything behind and went.

The Posture of the Saint of the Last Days

Jesus, even in that other world, looking upon this earth, is praying, “In this final age of history, the one person whom I wished to face — appear; one family — appear; one society — appear; one church — appear; one people — appear; one 'ism' — appear.” This is because he would fulfill the purpose at least in heaven.

This ideal, centered on Christianity, has formed the democratic camp. This is fighting against materialism as opposed to it. You are curious how it will turn out, are you not?

Now, rather than grieving with the destiny of the world and the contest of life and death at stake, we must bear in our bodies the time that Jesus left behind historically. This is an important matter. Jesus said, “The hour is coming, but now is the hour.” That is, there was the hour hoped for and the hour fulfilled, and the hour fulfilled has remained as the hour hoped for.

You must know Jesus' inner pain that, although it was the end of the hour hoped for, he could not say that now is that hour.

Now too is the same as then. The “that hour” of which Jesus said, “The hour is coming, but now is the hour,” is precisely.

This is not a contradictory statement. It is the time of fulfilling the words Jesus left behind. The present time is the time of the mind, the time of Heaven. The hour fulfilled means the hour reaching this world. These must coincide on one beat.

Jesus came bearing the hour in his heart, but having no place to spread out the hour he came bearing in his heart, he took it with him and went. Praying and longing for that hour of the heart to come — that day is precisely the day of the Second Advent.

Therefore, you who have gathered here today must prepare for the hour of the heart. You must know the heart of the Lord, the Bridegroom. You must know the Lord's heart.

However much you read the Bible, you do not know what the Lord's heart is. However well you master the Bible, you do not know. The mind is the issue. The mind must be earnest.

Jesus said, “You are in me, and I am in you.”

When Jesus comes seeking you, he opens the door of your mind and comes seeking. Therefore, you must welcome the hour of the heart. And you must form the temple of the heart.

The Master must come into the temple composed of completed human beings, prepared with the hour of the heart and the temple of the heart, and act as Master. This is the thought of the Second Advent. The issue lies there.

Then, to welcome the hour of the heart, what must you do? Just as Jesus, transcending your brothers, transcending the people, transcending the world, yearned for a new world, you also must yearn.

When Jesus comes, my mind must individually become the foundation where Jesus and the Holy Spirit can come at any time. Otherwise, when the Lord comes seeking me, he goes back.

Therefore, we must become a worldwide foundation that can say to the Lord who has come, “Once You come, You cannot go.” How did you become such a worldwide foundation? The mind that believes must be earnest.

With Jesus' name at stake, the substance of the world is not the issue, and your honor is not the issue — you must possess such a heart. Do you understand? You must enter the heart-level position that says, with Jesus' name at stake, no place cannot be communed. Is it so?

Look. Pastors growl and bite at one another, elders and church officers fight one another, and brothers contend with brothers. Will this do? Jesus, when he stood in the position of having to go before long, called the disciples and bade them be one.

Just as I yearn for you, he said, you must yearn for me, and yearn for one another among yourselves.

Jesus left behind the time and the environment. He left disciples in the environment and went. He went without seeing the figure of disciples to whom, unlike the disciples to whom he could not speak openly during his lifetime, he could lay everything bare and tell. He went without seeing such a church, and at the same time, without setting up such a society, nation, and world.

Those Who Can Welcome the Lord

Then, within what realm will you become a multitude that can welcome Jesus?

Will you meet the Lord who comes seeking you individually?

Will you meet the Lord who comes seeking at the family level? Will you meet the Lord who comes seeking at the social level? At the national level, at the worldwide level? Within which realm do you wish to meet the Lord?

Do you think the Lord will come riding on the clouds in heaven, with music playing?

Absolutely not. To know clearly that it is so, come here. I will explain that it is absolutely not so. Do not believe such delusions. Christianity now treats our Unification Church as heretical. Fine. Whether second-tier or third-tier, let us collide once and fight and see who breaks. It is because we have confidence that we say so. Because we have confidence.

Then, to welcome the Lord who comes to welcome the worldwide moment, the Lord who comes to rule the worldwide environment, what kind of qualified one must you become? You must become one in whom, when “Lord, please come quickly here,” He can say, “Yes,” and one who can say, “There is here a house in which You may abide.” Are you so? You? Are you? Can you, before the Lord, present and say, “Lord, You left behind the time and environment You sought to fulfill on this earth, from the individual to the entirety of the people; now there is here the individual and the people in whom You can abide”?

You may say, How could one say such a thing — but one must be able to. Among the priests who led the Israelite people, was there even one who said, “Lord! Please come quickly. Here is what you should lead.” There was none.

If Jesus were to live, all would go over to him, their eyes would be turned, and they could not leave Jesus alone. Yet they should have introduced everything before him. Introducing it, they should have handed it over. They should have said, “Lord, this house, this society, this church, this world is not mine; please take them as Your own.”

Look. Denominations are fiercely struggling with one another. Each church differs in its time. Each church differs in its environment. Each church differs in its view of the coming Lord. Then how could Jesus come? Even if he tried to come, he would go back. Where could he come?

Each denomination has a different time, a different environment, and a different leading ideal. Is that Jesus' church? Is that the temple in which Jesus would abide?

Since the church is prepared for those who follow Jesus, the issue is great.

Therefore, in the Last Days, it is said, “Do not listen to anyone's word. Do not even believe the word of the man speaking here.

However much I sweat blood and tears in speaking, do not listen. You do not know which is false and which is true. You cannot trust your parents and brothers; whom can you trust?

In the present time, one must be victorious over the very judgment of the mind.

The judgment of the mind, judging by the mind, is that which is wrong must be cut off. The mind knows. In every aspect, judgment of the mind must be made.

If that cannot be done, in the Last Days one must, anointing the head with oil, enter the inner room and pray to definitively settle. There are many denominations and many people who say they are outstanding; which among them is what God has prepared in the Last Days?

Which is the foundation of the environment in which the Lord can abide? What are the people who can build the world of the Lord's ideal? Have you prayed about this? They are in commotion, struggling with mouths agape, not knowing whether it is a death pit or not. Do you know in what kind of net you are wrapped?

What Unfolds in the Last Days

Of the forty-two denominations in Korea, forty-one are antichrists. Therefore, you must seek the church that can fulfill the hour of the heart for you, the place where the heart can rest.

You must seek the place of worship in which you can live and die together with God, suffer and rejoice together with Him.

If there is no such thing here, pack up and leave. We do not stop you. Go, all of you. With the door of the mind opened, you must go to the place where you can say, “This is the place where the hour of the heart is fulfilled! This is the environment of the heart in which Father can be attended! This alone is the place where, centered on Father's heart, we can become one.”

Then, having made such a time and environment and standard, what would He do?

He would unify the world. In the Last Days, unification comes. It is not necessarily that our Unification Church will unify it. Whoever unifies it, the world must advance toward one ideal, toward one moment, toward one environment. It must advance toward one leader and one environment. It must become one with one leader. It must become one.

If the environment in which the denominations can become one is not prepared, a pioneer of the moment who can make them one must come forth. A pioneer of the moment. The multitude that emphasizes that this present moment is the time to firmly come to one's senses must come forth from any denomination. The multitude that emphasizes the moment.

Now, countless people say it is the Last Days. Therefore, in Christianity, now confusion is unfolding. The witnesses of the moment will come forth. The witnesses of the environment will come forth.

Leaders, representatives, who say, “Ah, I am the foremost,” come forth. Each says he is the Lord, in commotion. Such multitudes pour forth. Such multitudes collide and collide; in that, one must remain. The established denominations will not remain just as they are.

The new history unfolds and connects, starting from the new. Now the young men and women must break apart each denomination.

If they do not break it apart, God will strike. Therefore, they will fight among themselves. Can they not fight? Heaven will cause them to break it apart. The time has come. “Break it apart! Break it from the nearest.”

The fight unfolds first from the denominations God loves. It unfolds from the people whom God loves dearly. Therefore, hasn't fighting unfolded even in the established churches? Not only that.

What is happening is that pastors and the young fight. The present time is the time when the young must be opened. The fortune of heaven and earth moves the breasts of the young, that, taking off the masks of the past, they cross over to a new world of ideals.

Therefore, the church is not the church of the council. It is our church. Our church. Such a time comes. See whether it is so or not.

If a church splits into one and two, and from two splits into four, when it splits three times, God leaves. The principle of Heavenly Law is so. Therefore, people gather at the family level. Those who have grace gather at the family level. They do not go to church. They prostrate themselves at home and pray. See whether it becomes so or not. It is a time when, crying out from the pulpit, one easily stands in the position of the priests of old.

So today we must open the door of the mind, open the door of the body, open the door of life, open the door of the nation, and open even the door of the “ism.” That door must be opened for me to the world. Therefore, a church must come forth that forms the bond by which the Lord, coming seeking the world, can come seeking even the individual. And you must become a multitude that lays a road completely open so that the Lord who has come to the world can come seeking you at any time. Only thus will you meet the Lord. Then up to what door must you open? You must open even the door of the heart.

Do you know what the heart is?

It is to rejoice together with the Lord over what the Lord likes most, to keep the beat with that, and to respond to what the Lord requires. Even up to such a door of the heart, you must open.

When we think of this, how heart-rending must be the circumstances of the Lord who is now in heaven? How heart-rending must be the circumstances of the Lord who looks upon the earth? Is there such a person on this earth?

Today's Christianity has prepared the form of the Second Israel, but among them, there are no chosen who can receive God's blessing and the right of inheritance.

However pitiful the lot of the Korean people, if they become a multitude upon whom Jesus can raise his hand and bestow blessing, this nation will rule the world.

Furthermore, even if God does not bless them, if they pour out loyalty more than any nation in the world, they can take by force even the blessing that Heaven would not give. It is said that the Kingdom of Heaven is taken by those who strive.

The God of America? The God of some advanced nation? It is not so.

We must pour out our heart and blood and pour out devotion that humanity has not poured out until now.

If it cannot be done in my lifetime, we must think to be loyal even over second, third, and several generations and become a worldwide loyal race. If there are many such people, they are saved. Should it be so or not? Yes?

The Faith That Does Not Look Back to the Past

Today, you have gathered under the name of the Unification Church. Let us open up the world of the heart. Let us open up “ism,” thought, all of them. Having opened them, let us search.

As we search, if we discover the place where my mind can be, the foundation where my mind can rest, where I am sure I can become a son or daughter of God, even at the cost of having my neck cut, go to that place. That place is the final place. If today, having come to the Unification Church, such a bond does not seep into your bones and flesh, all of you go. All of you go.

To become such a multitude, to form such a bond, although receiving every kind of slander and persecution of this age, I cry out. The people of the world think that the man speaking here is inferior to them. But this man has suffered more than anyone in the course of life. I have been buffeted by fierce winds. I have fought with a sorrowful heart. Whichever way I tried, since it could not but be done thus, I am playing this game. It is not a game swayed by passing words of mockery or trifling.

Jesus left everything behind and went. Now let us gather Jesus' time in ourselves. Let us gather Jesus' environment in the environment of ourselves and offer it. Going further, let us become sons and daughters who can receive a blessing greater than that which Jesus wished to give to Peter, all his authority.

Then, through us, the door of the Kingdom of Heaven will open.

Further, the Christianity that has not matched the time can match the time through us, the Christianity that has not fulfilled an environment in which God can be attended can fulfill an environment in which God can be attended through us, and what God could not proclaim, He can proclaim through us.

Let us pour out our devotion and not look back. Let us pour out our devotion and not look back. Jesus was so. Having lived a life of thirty-three years, looking at the death not far ahead, Jesus, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, wished to look back upon his life, but not once did he look back.

Therefore, Jesus prayed,

"Abba, Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. Yet not my will, but Thy will be done." (Matt. 26:39)

Jesus rebuked those who reckon up the past. If you have poured out all devotion, do not lament that no one acknowledges it. I worry whether someone will acknowledge it.

I worry that someone might acknowledge. He said, Pour out all your mind, all your will, all your loyalty, even at the cost of shedding blood and falling. Do not lament that no one acknowledges.

If there is a multitude that, to set up and exalt the integrity of my loyalty before the coming Lord, falls, the Lord, holding back tears, will come and set them up.

How greatly have you loved Jesus, how greatly have you yearned for the time Jesus longed for, how greatly have you striven to pioneer in this age the environment Jesus pioneered? You must clearly know.

If you have received Heaven's blessing, it is not yours. He blessed you for the sake of all peoples. You must possess the heart that knows that the blessing given to you, the blessing bestowed upon you, was for the sake of saving all the people. From such a position, you must open the heart and open the mind and live.

In believing in Jesus, the color of the skin is not the issue. Whatever people or race of East and West is not the issue. The blood color is not the issue. Transcending all the environmental, emotional, and notional things until now, forgetting all, we must possess the heart of love that Jesus hoped for and the feelings of life that Jesus required. Only thus can you face the Lord who comes worldwide. Because the coming Lord is the worldwide Lord.

The time is drawing near. Heaven desires a multitude that can gather the time of this fortune of heaven and earth that is coming worldwide.

Let us become a multitude that gathers at that time. And let us become a multitude that builds up that environment. And we must become a multitude that can become loyal subjects before Him, that can become filial sons and filial daughters.

If we become a multitude that can offer everything as it is, when the Lord, who left behind and went, comes seeking, He cannot turn His face from such people. He will, undoubtedly, surely come seeking. May you clearly know this.

Prayer

Father, with what sorrowful figure are You looking upon the three-thousand-li peninsula, having halted Your footsteps? We know that the tears flowing through Your heart have been sprinkled upon this land and that the labor of sweat and blood You shed through Your heart and devotion is bonded to the people of this garden.

Father, the Lord who longed for the one moment, the Lord who, leading the world to pioneer the one environment, prayed — how greatly did You labor to set him up as the sovereign of Heaven, as the master who, receiving the blessing of heaven, could bestow blessing upon all peoples?

Father, we are awed that You chose these people, behind in every aspect. Now, having become the complex and confused environment of the Last Days that we must pass through, there must be one temple that can determine the moment and resolve the resting place of the environment.

With the joy of having pioneered that time and environment, please cause us to be able to sing of the heaven-rooted bond, transcending the currents of thought of the world, and to form a direct relationship with Heaven.

We have come to know that we cannot but have, in our bodies and minds, the bond of inner life by which we, facing Father, can call You “Father,” and Father, facing us, can call us “son” and “daughter,” and we, facing the Lord, can call him “Bridegroom,” and the Lord, facing us, can call us “bride.”

To find for us the lost time and the lost master, you labored with unimaginable hardship and were driven this way and that. Father, who, when we went east, went east first and led us, and when we went north, went ahead first and rightly guided us, how great Your labor was. Without even knowing such facts, we, until now, have lived as we pleased, thinking that to live and go thus was to walk all the road that human beings should go. Please forgive that we were such empty beings. Father, we earnestly desire and beseech.

Father, who called us in the unknown! We give thanks before the grace by which You have permitted us to dare to fathom the historical heart, permitted us to know the heart of the age, and permitted us to fathom the heart of the future.

Now, having prepared works to the extent that we know, having prepared all that should be prepared as warriors of Heaven, please make us qualified ones who, in the struggle You left behind, do not grow weary, who can boast before heaven of the value of the one day, and a multitude that pours out all loyalty before Father. We earnestly desire and beseech.

We earnestly desire and beseech that You permit us to become sons and daughters who, while pouring out all devotion, forget themselves; who, while shedding the sweat and blood of labor, possess the mind of invoking blessing upon the multitude that sheds sweat and blood.

Father, since Stephen too invoked blessing for the multitude of enemies who stoned him to death, and Jesus too invoked blessing for the multitude that killed him, we today must be a multitude that, pouring out all devotion, even at the cost of shedding sweat and blood for the people and humanity, vomiting blood and falling, earnestly desires that the tradition of integrity that Father left behind be fulfilled through our selves.

Please make it possible for us to become such a multitude. Father, we earnestly desire and beseech.

However much we shed sweat and blood and cry out, we have come to know that we are most insufficient. Since we know that all that pierces our hearts essentially possesses the heaven-rooted bond, please, through the essential issue, make the welling-up emotion in that heart turn back the course of life until now and make us figures who can mightily charge forward and set out in a new direction. We earnestly desire and beseech.

Father, who worries about the mission You left behind, since we too will, with anxious heart, fight until victory, please thicken our strength with strength and bond with bond. We earnestly entreat, and we have prayed for all things in the name of the Lord. Amen.

Jesus Left Everything Behind and Went

Father, who worries about the mission You left behind, since we too will, with anxious heart, fight until victory, please thicken our strength with strength and bond with bond. We earnestly entreat, and we have prayed for all things in the name of the Lord. Amen.
