The Mountaintop of Restoration
Former Headquarters Church, Korea
When we think of this thing written here, “the mountaintop of Restoration,” you must think of the destiny of Jesus, who could not but cross the ridge of the cross to take responsibility for the people and restore the world.
Since the field Jesus took responsibility for was to cross beyond the nation and save the world, we know that there was without fail a corresponding trial and a ridge of the cross.
As you know, there is such a time of trial for the individual, if it be the individual; and there is a gate—which can be a ridge or can be a valley—for the family, if it be the family, or the church, if it be the church, the nation, if it be the nation, the world, if it be the world, to cross over at some one time into a new age.
One must without fail pass through it. And if, at such a final ridge, an enemy who is aiming at me is waiting, one must contend with him for victory or defeat and settle the decision of whether I perish before the enemy or I drive the enemy off. We must know that anyone who comes to stand at such a fork of life and death.
The Fight of Body and Mind Is the First Gate of Restoration
Then at “the mountaintop of Restoration,” how must this restoring be accomplished?
It must be accomplished, centering on God and us human beings. For that, the road God goes and the road man goes must always keep time. Whether in the human world or in God’s providential process, unless this is resolved, Restoration cannot be accomplished.
When we say that the road God goes is the highest mountaintop, then the road we go today too must become the highest ridge. And when, at some one time, one thinks one has crossed that ridge entirely, you must have one day and one time when you can present, to the historical course of the providence of Restoration, that you have brought victory from a position like God’s. Without having such a day, God cannot plant a flag and pledge to it the name of victory.
Then, from such a viewpoint, when we set before us the historical mission and the mission of the age that the Unification Church must fulfill today and consider the matter of Restoration, there is a ridge the individual, if it be the individual, must cross and a ridge the church, as the church, must cross.
Where does that ridge appear?
Of course it will appear upon the world course the whole church must go, but before that, unless one wins at the ridge of the inner fight centered on one’s own body and mind, one cannot have the victorious foundation by which one can cross this mountaintop.
Seen this way, what becomes the greatest problem is how to overcome that arena of the fight, on which the trials and pains to come are hung layer upon layer. It is how to break through this without difficulty, attend God, and return the glory of victory to God. And the most fundamental thing in this problem is, to the very end, one’s own self.
In this way, whatever the individual matters or however great a historical event, the starting point of everything about that event is the individual. In the providence of Restoration, one certain person without fail takes a leading direction and goes forward.
As you can see even from the matter of Apollo 11’s conquest of the lunar world this time, the scale was enormous. Even though countless factories were operated for that work and several hundred thousand technical personnel were mobilized, that plan did not proceed by many people joining minds and deciding; it proceeded by the assertion of one central person and the plan of one person. The final standard is always so.
Of course, in that process there would have been various discussions and various proposals, but in digesting all those proposals and deciding what was good and what was bad, there is without fail a ridge that must be crossed, and one must cross it.
What Is Needed to Cross the Mountaintop of Restoration
Seen this way, on the road the Unification Church goes in the future, how must we cross the mountaintop of Restoration?
The greater the ridge that appears relatively, the more we ourselves need that much inner preparation and inner ability.
If one is to cross Namsan, however high Namsan may be, the conviction “I will cross that mountain” must go first. One must hold the certainty that I can cross it. Not only must one hold certainty, but because I have the experience of having crossed a mountain in the past, one cannot cross it unless one sets out holding the conviction, “That mountain is no problem.” And in crossing, one must not cross without a pioneering standard. The more it is a road one goes for the first time, the more wisdom is needed there; so one cannot but furnish various hearts (심정) and various inner and outer standards.
You will have seen on television the scene of Apollo 11 landing on the moon and setting its first foot there. In the instant of opening this historical mystery for the first time in the several billion years since the earth came into being, you saw that the one footstep of the person who took responsibility for it was a step that could determine his life. Or through various reporting media such as radio and newspapers, you heard and saw it.
Seeing such a thing, in crossing such a mountaintop from the position of pioneering for the very first time, to set out holding the standard of common sense until now is a reckless act. Why? Because if on the day one goes wrong, a miserable phenomenon unfolds in which one cannot but go the road that declares one’s final destiny.
Therefore, here, even though it be a mountaintop one must cross having passed through countless trials and countless adversities, or having furnished the merit built up through one’s own experience and the historical materials by which one can overcome all inner and outer trials, one must hold the certainty that one can more than overcome that mountaintop.
If one stands in a position of “shall I go or not,” then ten out of ten, a hundred out of a hundred, there is a great possibility that one will without fail say one dislikes it. Such a road is the road of Restoration.
Therefore, over the long span of six thousand years until now, countless people of Will were mobilized to go the road, but all of them could not cross that ridge.
Unable even to gaze at the world of the far shore, always lingering only in the fleshly world we can gaze at, they in the end came to perish. That is why we today must know that such a mountaintop of Restoration — a ridge that must be overcome and crossed—always waits on the course of Restoration of the individual, if it be the individual, the family, if it be the family, the group, if it be the group, the nation, if it be the nation, or the world, if it be the world.
You must know the fact that, proportionally, that magnitude, a mountaintop that gathers it to a conclusion, is always waiting.
How to Cross Becoming One with God Is What Matters
Now, in crossing this mountaintop, is it a road one can go on because someone sponsors it and someone cooperates there? It is not so. Of course, if there is some leader and one follows as he leads, it may be good, but even following that road, that ridge, is not arranged to be gone so easily.
Even standing in the position of following, since one must cross the final ridge, one cannot go this road without furnishing a point of unity of action with the matters the leader directs or with his direction. You must know the fact that we must cross this enormous mountaintop of Restoration.
Jesus too, in the very instant of crossing the ridge called the restoration of the world, setting the people of Israel before him, prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane, shedding blood and sweat in loneliness:
“O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” (Matt. 26:39)
Here you must know that this “the Father’s will and my will” was always the historical dividing point that decided victory or defeat.
Seen this way, in crossing the mountaintop of Restoration, my will and the Father’s will, the road I go and the road the Father goes, the Father’s viewpoint and the viewpoint I gaze from, the Father’s gait and the form of the steps I walk, must always be united. Only then can all things be united. Without that, even though one crosses that ridge, one cannot succeed. And in crossing that ridge, one must not cross alone. One must, without fail, cross together with God.
Why is this? Though we go forward to restore the Garden of Eden and build the kingdom of heaven on earth, in building that kingdom of heaven, it cannot be done with us human beings alone.
According to the principle of creation, the kingdom of heaven cannot be achieved with human beings alone. Only by joining with God can the kingdom of heaven be achieved. Because this is the principle of creation, we today, even in crossing that ridge, must not cross alone.
The more you collide with a difficult ridge, the more you must always have a point of unity by which you can overcome that difficulty. The nearer and nearer you draw to that mountaintop, the more, at that crossroads of life and death, you must prepare one point of unity by which you can contact God.
In preparing that point of unity, it is not that God prepares it for us automatically just so, but that you yourselves must keep pace with it and unite in solidarity there. Therefore, you must strive centering on the problem of how to inject your substance there.
Such a focal point must, in any case, be prepared at some time. Within the Unification Church itself too, it is wished that at some one time it become so.
We have struggled forward until now with this solemn task called national restoration set before us, but whether it has today entered its final phase—it has not yet entered it. Therefore, even now we are continuing to advance toward a certain mountaintop. At some time, the hour must come when we must, without fail, greet that final focal point. That hour is drawing near before us anxiously.
Then how must we ourselves, who face this, be?
We must hold a firm conviction by which we can overcome it, from a position more pressing than that and more anxious than that. Centering on that firm conviction, one must stand in a position where one can be conversant with the past, present, and future, and, furnishing content of heart (심정) there, can say that I can amply overcome and cross that ridge. Without that, one cannot cross that ridge. You must know that crossing this ridge is that difficult.
Satan Always Waits at the Mountaintop
Now, the enemy Satan does not wait in the valley but always waits at the mountaintop. That is the greatest problem. Jesus too fought Satan at the mountaintop of the cross. And whenever he prayed, centering on an important matter, he did so centering on a mountaintop.
Whether the Garden of Gethsemane or the Mount of Olives, in the end it was always a mountain that became the issue. Jesus always fought Satan, centering on such a mountaintop. Crossing such a ridge is the road of destiny of Restoration.
Then the question cannot but arise whether we ourselves, who must go this road, hold a thoroughgoing conviction by which we can prepare for this and step over it.
Today we ourselves must think of what I have been from the time we set out in the Unification Church until now. In what position am I now standing? Am I going the road of a level, parallel line? Or am I going down from the level standard? Or am I going toward the mountaintop of a rugged, towering peak risen from the plain?
That conclusion will differ for each. A thousand out of a thousand, ten thousand out of ten thousand, will all differ. Why do they differ? There is a reason. It is because the standard of goodness that each has passed through from the ancestors of the past differs.
Since we are the resultant beings of that goodness, the form of that result is of ten thousand kinds. Whether this one or that one, or countless people, the form is all the same, but even though, as a Korean, if he is a Korean, the language and living space are the same, if one looks centering on the meaning of Restoration held behind him, or at the merit of goodness his ancestors built up, that content is of ten thousand kinds.
Seeing such a thing, some person will, at present, have passed through the valley, and some person will be going the mountain road, and some person will be passing the 70-percent, 80-percent, 90-percent ridgeline and going toward the summit.
What we must think of here is that there are cases in which some person, though he came out the very first, is following the very last person. In this way, when there is a mountaintop, in the process of passing through the valley toward that mountaintop, one goes in figures and forms of ten thousand kinds. Then whom must you yourselves follow?
The higher the mountain to be crossed, the more there will be a moment of the decisive fight that determines one’s own life and death, that determines one’s final destiny; so you must go forward, in crossing that ridge, holding content by which you can prepare for it. You must advance with strength toward that mountaintop, which will remain continuing.
To Cross the Highest Mountaintop
Then, for me to conquer that ridge, which countless people until now wished to cross but could not, what must I do?
If there is an enemy there, I must hold the conviction that I will, by dealing a single blow, furnish a perfect foundation of victory, return the highest victory before God, and cross over. The stronger that conviction, the more earnest becomes the heart (심정) that breaks through the mountain.
The ridge we must cross is not the mid-slope of the mountain. It is the highest mountaintop. In the historical process, countless prophets and martyrs gazed solely at that mountaintop, and all retreated. In this way, at that final mountaintop lurks Satan the enemy, the ringleader, who seeks to bury us all. That is why the problem that arises here is how you will furnish your direction, your own inner preparation, and your defensive posture by which you can go forward in preparation for this. That is why you live a life of faith in ordinary times.
You must, without fail, become wholly integrated and pass through one emergency period. In the Unification Church itself, there will without fail be such a time. For that, there is a time of trial the individual must pass through, or a time of trial the family must pass through, a time of trial the tribe must pass through, and a time of trial the people, the nation, and the world must pass through. And that place must not become a place where one worries about one’s own problem of life and death and one’s problem of whether to stay or go. Without treating this as a problem, one must break through that place without difficulty and cross over.
You must stand in a subjective position where you can digest that place as a place to gather materials for the final remaining fight and a place to train. Without that, one cannot cross the battlefield of the final mountaintop to come.
We think of Jesus ’praying three times in the Garden of Gethsemane,
“O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt” (Matt. 26:39), is a good prayer.
Of course, we must respect him for having, at the end, prayed before God, centering on God’s Will. The more serious the position Jesus was placed in, the more he wished to hear the circumstances of God, who would be in a position more serious than that.
You too, when placed in such a position, must be able to pray, “Father, notify me of Thy circumstances.” You must be able to pray, even in your mind, “Since I would fulfill the way of a loyal subject before the Father, who has undergone trials greater than the trials I have undergone until now—the trials I must pass through are trials, but if there is a trial Thou must pass through, add that to my trial. What is the road by which Thou canst command me?” It is not that one presents one’s own pitiable position, sets up a condition, and prays; rather, one must, transcending one’s own condition, set forth God’s difficult condition and pray.
One must pray to God from a position where one can say, “The road Thou must go for the sake of the people and the road Thou must go for the sake of the world; we will go in Thy stead.”
When we look back on the historical course of Restoration today, all the history that was in the throes of the six thousand years from Adam until now was a history of failure. All the history that appears in the Bible, seen from our standpoint of the Will, is not recorded as the highest victory but leaves a record of failure.
Reluctantly chasing the tail and raising the head, they followed this road; being driven, they could not but go. To go such a difficult road was the road our ancestors walked.
When we think of such a history of Restoration, in crossing the mountaintop of Restoration, we must become a multitude who can, cutting off all the ties of past days from the past until now, cross over with tears.
We must become ones who can say that in the future, at some mountaintop, we will contend with Satan to make the final decision, without fail win, and avenge the historical enemy until now, and thereby resolve all that bitter resentment and offer it before God—that we will without fail seek and offer that one day of glory. For that, on the foundation of living in which you dwell today, with what can you cross the mountaintop of Restoration? This is always the problem.
The Point of Victory or Defeat Is Decided Instantly
From now on, the 40-day witnessing period in which you have carried on activity, centering on summer, if it be summer, and winter, if it be winter, will become a historical period of activity.
In this period, you must cross a ridge no one else can cross and must go a road no one else can go. Without that, one cannot cross the mountaintop of Restoration. This is the problem. This road is one you must go on without fail.
If one cannot go it while alive, it is a road one must go even after dying. This is not merely a thing said in words.
Seen from such a position, people who go seeking the road of Heaven are always lonely people.
However abundantly all the surroundings of oneself may be furnished, unless one furnishes the equipment by which one can overcome the ridge one has pledged to cross, or if one stands at a standard lower than that mountaintop, that person will without fail walk the course of a defeated one.
Therefore, those who have taken responsibility are always serious. You, as members of the Unification Church, may find it easy to follow, but those who have taken responsibility must lead with the whole stake so they can never sleep deeply. According to how that responsible person acts, the result of victory or defeat is determined.
Today God is carrying on a worldwide history of Restoration. Moreover, a few days ago you would have seen it. In the instant of conquering the lunar world, the people of the whole world became of one mind and one will toward that single target—the movement of the astronauts who rode the Apollo spacecraft. There has never been such a time in history. There has been no such example in history until now.
The time that opened this cosmic age was a short time of a mere 2 hours and 40 minutes, but that instant, in which all the people of the world attended together in that place, was a historical instant.
The enormous sum of 24 billion dollars—over 6 trillion won in our money, funds requiring the Japanese government to invest three years of its national budget—all that money was invested for those 2 hours. Here, the point of victory or defeat is decided in the instant of a tick-tock.
Even if, in exploring the lunar world in the history of humanity today, one applies still greater spur and carries it into practice, it can be in a single instant that a history pioneered over several hundred years can be left as a lament within several dozen years. That is why all must unite, centering on that instant. In this way, the favored child of twentieth-century modern civilization is decided at the summit. History does not wish to be defeated.
From this viewpoint, considering the Unification Church itself, as to when the Unification Church has ever played the part of a true Unification Church—it has not. Nor has there ever been a time when you yourselves did some unified work centering on the Unification Church.
The Unification Church must become an individual Unification Church, a family Unification Church, or a national, worldwide, and further, a cosmic Unification Church. Then when will that time be? You must know how to think about this.
You must become people who can take part in the fight wherever you go. In a fight with the nation at stake, you must be able to stand at the head, absolutely not falling behind anyone. Standing at the vanguard, you must fight from a position where no one else can follow. For that, all the preparation by which one can surpass thirty million must be made.
For billions of people to become one, one must make one’s own preparation, one’s own discipline, and one’s own training that can be proportional to that. Everyone, is it not so?
When some national game is held and one goes to the sports stadium, they are contending and fighting against one another. There, split into two camps, they are fighting for victory or defeat, and the loud cries of the peoples of the two nations—where are they concentrated?
In a basketball game, they are concentrated on that one ball alone.
Do Not Be a Spectator, but a Participant
Then how must one make it become the final victory of the whole?
There will be people who watch the game with a serious mind, and people who watch merely for amusement—various kinds of people.
Of course, the most serious on that day would be the people running in that game, but if the people watching hold a heart (심정) the same as the athletes’ and, when one of the players falls during the game, hold a heart that aches as if the whole had fallen—if they truly become one body of one mind—then the victory won from such a position becomes the victory of the whole.
If the body and mind of the whole audience become one, then, although they did not directly run together with them toward the final position of victory, if they become of one mind in cheering, they can feel a worth and a delight greater than the people who directly ran.
Then, seen centering on the Unification Church, there will without fail be a subject here, and there will be a judge. And there will be a multitude that runs, and a multitude that watches. Then here, if the Republic of Korea, if it be the Republic of Korea, is watching, we are playing the game. There will be rules of the officiating body here too. But if, centering on the norms, one runs the road of victory legitimately with one’s disciplined ability, it is good until one crosses.
Yet if one wins the first half but loses the second half, it all comes to nothing. If, having won some 80 percent or 90 percent in the first half, one enters the very last of the second half and loses, it would be a dumbfounding thing.
You must know that you are now fighting such a fight. In this, you must acquire for yourselves all the norms corresponding to the norms of the officiating body, and go without leaving any condition that violates those norms. Such a course of the fight is the road of Restoration we must go.
Here I gave the sports game as one example, but this is far too limited. It must be gathered in the whole field of the world-historical. In going, if the mountaintop is the Republic of Korea, there will be the ridge of the Republic of Korea; if Asia, there will be the ridge of Asia; if the world, there will be the ridge of the world.
Then what must the Unification Church do today?
It must break through the ridge the nation must cross. Then how will one cross the front line? One must pass through Asia?
Centering on what can one bring about the result of victory?
This is the problem. Therefore, we must pave the road by which one can bring about the result of victory. In going straight here, much venturing follows.
Everyone! Even in climbing a mountain of about 250 meters, such as Namsan, or a small mountain, going straight up entails hardship. But in crossing the road of Restoration that no one has crossed, Mount Everest is no problem.
In crossing such a mountain, there are places where one must hang a rope and cross 45 degrees or 90 degrees. Or there will be ridges of over 100 degrees, and there are times when one must go not straight but backward.
You must always think of the fact that we are in a position of having to cross a ridge of Restoration like that. Only by crossing such a mountaintop of Restoration can we fulfill the mission of pioneers.
If you cannot cross that mountaintop while alive, you must cross it even after dying. The people of the world think, “Once you die, that is the end, so live comfortably; how could one live like that?” but it is not that everything ends when one dies. Rather, this road is a mountaintop that must go with eternity staked in the course of one’s own short life. That is why you must know that you must run toward the final focal point of victory by which you can be united with God.
When God looks at us, He does not wish, because we are lowly, to leave us in a lowly position. Though the child is lowly, the parent’s mind always wishes to set him in a higher position.
In the world, when a friend or a teacher looks at a disciple, he may wish, if the disciple is lowly, to set him in a position befitting his lowliness; but God wishes to set us in a higher position, in a precious position. A lowly person may think that God gives them less concern, but you must know that God gives greater concern to the lowly person.
Therefore, do not abuse yourselves, thinking that you have no ability, and that, seen inwardly and outwardly, you are of no help before the Will. The more insufficient you yourselves are, the more God has the responsibility to make you cross the mountaintop of Restoration by passing you through that insufficient position.
How much toil God must undergo, taking you insufficient ones and bearing 95 percent of the responsibility! Considering such a problem, the more insufficient one’s own self is one must realize the fact that the mission of Restoration remaining for tomorrow is added all the more and strive without resting more than others.
The Time to Cross the Ridge of the Nation
In the future, there will be a time when our Unification Church must present the mountaintop of Restoration it must finally cross before the nation, if it be the nation. Or there will be a time to present the condition of Restoration to Asia, if it be Asia, and a time to present the condition of Restoration before the world, if it be the world. The time to present such a matter has come.
Yet one must not, because it is a family, place a purpose only on the family itself. Because the family is entirely founded on the purpose of the nation, an individual belonging to the family must not seek to get ahead in society for himself alone.
Yet the people of the world all say they will get ahead and form a flat relationship with the family, society, and the nation. But you must attend to God by treading up over all such stages of society. Therefore, what our Unification Church treats as the greatest issue is restoring the family. It is building the kingdom of heaven in the family. For that, first I must become the substance of the kingdom of heaven.
In this way, in God’s providence of Restoration, there is without fail an integrated ridge that the family, if it be the family, the tribe, if it be the tribe, and the people, if it be the people, as a whole must cross. Therefore, before this road, you must always stand in a position of following and pray that you yourself become a stimulus and a strength to yourself.
Even before the judgment seat, you must follow from a position in which you do not bow your head. You must know at what time you will show your ability. It is the same for the Teacher himself. The Teacher has, from some years ago, been preparing to bring to a conclusion at some time the standard the Teacher wished for. And because that preparation is not finished, he is unrestingly busy. Whether the day passes and the night passes, or the years go by, you must know that with that one thought in a mind united before God, he has pioneered it.
Since the Teacher has come forth passing through such a process, each of you too must follow the same road as the Teacher. Therefore, seen centering on that position, what our church must do in the future is to make many various training institutions and educational institutions.
One must pass through the course of Restoration in stages. One must pass through the stage of several months, if it be several months, or seven years, if it be seven years. Yet until now, because it could not become such a position and this one or that one was set to activity vaguely and jumbled together, there is a problem.
Therefore, you must know that passing through organized stages and going is your road of destiny.
Now one must cross beyond the final ridge of the nation, if it be the nation. Without that, one cannot accomplish the resolution and settlement of Jesus’ han. That is the ridge of han that we all hold. In breaking through that ridge of han, you must make the conviction Jesus held your footing. And you must know clearly that, without your becoming ones who can, taking on God’s responsibility and standing boldly before Satan, one cannot break through the mountaintop of Restoration.
Prayer
Father, Thy children who were fighting in the provinces have come seeking Seoul, the heart of the Republic of Korea. Father, grant them to know how solemn a resolve they must make.
For whose sake have we ourselves come seeking this place?
Though we have, through the foundation of victory in the fight of our single individual selves, risen as one life, we must first become people who coolly reflect on whether we have become selves who can, having chosen the solemn task called the building of the kingdom of heaven, take responsibility for it.
We know that it is not the surrounding environment that is the problem, but the attitude of the one who has taken responsibility. Therefore, Jesus too, passing through the three-year course, greeted the final moment of destiny in the Garden of Gethsemane, with three prayers, in circumstances united with the Father.
Father, now we bear the responsibility of having to restore this walled city of Seoul before the Father. At such a serious time, grant that, looking upon us, who cannot think even one ten-millionth of the Father’s heart (심정), we may feel how pitiable Thou art, who must lead us.
We must mercilessly criticize such a self and analyze such a self’s individual consciousness, and feel how our position stands in relation to the whole. And thereby we must realize that we are insufficient selves, and must wish that the surrounding brothers be better than ourselves. We earnestly ask and desire that Thou grant us once again to feel that, holding a mind of hope that wishes to build up hidden merit, we cannot but move seeking a point of connection by which we can be of help before the Will of the whole.
Father, now the time to restore Seoul is drawing near. During this time, though we sought to restore Seoul centering on one Will, there was a period when, because the people of the world did not understand, we could not act freely, and for us that wall was far too high. And so we have been in a pitiable position, buffeted by the storm of harsh trials, hard-pressed merely with the consuming effort to sustain a mayfly’s living day by day.
Yet the time of the offensive, which we did not think of, has come. By reason of the course on which the Father has toiled, the time to take the offensive has now come.
Therefore, we must furnish an attitude of gathering that final fight and praising the Father’s glory, and yet we must not become a multitude that, even when we bring about the result of victory, holds no content of which we can speak. Both on the field of the fight and after we have won, we must become people who, a hundredfold in vigor and spirit, the Father, looking on, can boast are without insufficiency whatever work they do.
Father! Guard Thy children spread throughout every part of South Korea. We earnestly ask and desire, Father, that Thou grant that all the systems of activity that concentrate their strength toward the final victory, centering on us, may be united with Thy heart (심정) and united with Thy gait, so that we become a multitude who can win on the final battlefield.
Father, this hour, we earnestly ask and desire that Thou remember the children spread throughout every part of South Korea, centering on Seoul, and the children spread throughout the world.
Grant us to know that, upon our pitiable figure as we go, ourselves hastening the final road of destiny we must go, Thou, Father, always pour out without stint a mind of mercy and compassion. And grant us to know that there is a Father who is lonely together with us when we are lonely, and grant us to know that there is a Father who frets and worries together over our difficulty when we are challenged.
Grant us to become ones who can keenly feel the fact that the wretchedness of ourselves does not end merely with our wretchedness but even makes the Father wretched.
Today we often forget that we have taken responsibility for the solemn task of accomplishing the resolution and settlement of the han of these three ages. But since the historical prophets and martyrs are looking down upon us from the spirit world, and the people of this age are looking upon us, and our descendants to come await us, grant us to feel that we, the historical ones who bear the solemn responsibility of having to seek the road of destiny of these three ages, are like marathon runners standing in the stadium. We must overcome all the trials and pains we collide with there.
Grant us to know that there is a final ridge that we must overcome and cross even without sleeping, and though trials and pains be added to the gait by which we run toward the finish line of that ridge, we must overcome and cross all those added difficulties. We ask and desire that Thou grant us to know the fact that only then does that victory come to shine worldwide.
Father, grant us to realize once more that, to cross the mountaintop in the future, it differs according to how much those who have taken responsibility and who must lead it across become one and how much they unite. And thereby, we earnestly ask and desire, Father, that Thou grant us to become a multitude of unification who, when Thou lookest upon us, become a multitude Thou dost not hesitate to command and dost not worry to lead, who can cross the high, high mountaintop without hesitation, and who can drive off the final cross of the enemy and break through the final mountaintop.
For the day that remains, we earnestly ask and desire that Thou grant us to become Thy sons and daughters who, worrying and unceasingly furnishing our equipment, can fight even a thousand times, pouring out all our energy in a day, in one day we have greeted.
Asking that the Father be together upon this day as well, we have reported all the words, upholding the holy name of the True Parents, for a while. Amen. The Mountaintop of Restoration
Asking that the Father be together upon this day as well, we have reported all the words, upholding the holy name of the True Parents, for a while. Amen.
