The Cry of Hope

Cheonhwa Gung, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A.

It has now become the 20th day of the first month in the 10th year of Cheon Il Guk. From now on, a new epoch of history shall begin.

Taking Foundation Day as the standard, three years lacking seven days remain, do they not?

The other day, the teacher said that the words concerning Jesus must be newly read in Hoon Dok Hae, and centering on the teacher's collected speeches, we have come here and read Volumes 1, 2, and 3 in Hoon Dok Hae.

The Stage of Peace

What is it that our Unification Church puts forward?

There is a content that, when the multitudes come to know it hereafter, will be such that they cannot deny Christianity. And ordinary people do not know that from there, centering on the Principle, three stages of transformation have come forth.

As for the time of the Providence in its entirety, gauging the limit of 2,000 years as 2,000 years, a fortress was set up — and this is not a fortress of an earthen rampart but a fortress like the Great Wall.

A boundary line was drawn, but people did not acknowledge it; they crossed over that boundary line and fought, and until now they have sought in this way to establish the stage of peace. There have been many blessings and many sacrifices as well. The damage has been beyond words, but hereafter True Parents will tread upon that damage and rise, and, taking that price as a single boundary line, will cross over.

On the day they cross over it, the catastrophic world wars of the historical age will be of no consequence. There remain regions troubled by conflict to this day; these must be swept away.

When one thinks of such things, there is nothing further that could grieve God, and there can be no day more joyful than this for humankind that stands in the position of attending the Heavenly Parent.

This is my 20th visit to Las Vegas this year. It is now finished. Tomorrow I shall depart. The commemorative ceremony that foretold this was a Gun Show on a worldwide level. It is a symbol of power. The gun that Kook-jin has made is a peace gun. There is a great possibility that, as a means for women's self-defense, it can be made worldwide. And when one sees its power, it is no ordinary strength.

During the time of President Park (former president Park Chung-hee), we manufactured the Vulcan cannon. When, in the course of manufacturing it, I mentioned that such a gun was also being produced, I received the praise that, if such a gun existed, there would be no gun more important for self-defense in the world and in America.

President Park, in addition to praising the manufacture of the Vulcan cannon, was quite pleased about the manufacture of that gun and longed for it as for a dream. Centering on such facts, today we participated in the Gun Show here.

And further, what must be done to prevent any nation from making war?

At sea, on land, and in the air, there must not be an absence of the gun. These days, apart from the atomic cannon or the atomic bomb, there is a category of weapon that is a symbol of power—what is it?

It cannot leave behind the foundation of the spiritual armament of the relational world centered on the gun. This forms a single, connected vein, and centering on it, women not only protect themselves but also go on to educate their children hereafter.

In the living environment, when fish farms and even practice grounds where one may raise plants and animals and live can be built and used for education, how greatly will the young people develop!

In this sense, the implications, great and lofty, in the future outlook, you do not know well, but the Teacher knows well how vast their influence will be. Everyone must take this fact as a model for family education and educate the citizens.

Through the media of communication, from morning, around the clock—Teacher's words on whatever topic is needed — must be available for Hoon Dok reading, ever aligned with the date. The words I have spoken for 50 years have accumulated. How rich, then, is the material!

Our Unification Church is creating a new world culture. Through what is set down in letters, we create a spiritual culture and, in so doing, go on to create the ideal.

From the small ornaments of daily life expressed in writing to, on the grand scale, cosmic engineering and even the infinite world of the spirit world, we take measure. Through radar, measuring distances and assimilating them, the stage of life is not the stage called Korea but the great cosmos itself.

When we think of the fact that the hope, the secret of God's treasury, beyond what imagination can reach, is coming to seek us out, we cannot but be filled with excitement.

You Must Know How to Hear the Voice of Hope

Meanwhile, I am of a mind to wrap up the great heart in a broadcloth and to fashion an environment such that even God will wish to come into that very room and live with us.

Even old people, by using skill, can live as a couple with a couple in their own way; and in the room in which such a couple and a couple live, God can be attended.

From such a possible model, we can fashion not only the model of youth but also the model of the nation, of the world, and of the Heavenly Kingdom, in any number.

Speaking on the small scale, from omocha (おもちゃ, toys), and on the great scale up to a palace, things may be imagined. You must know how proud a thing it is to live in such a world where, within the realm of the structure of consciousness, we measure and reckon and can manipulate things from side to side.

When I think of such things, the teacher has been overjoyed. How could sleep come, even late into the night?

In olden days, it was said that if one slept on the eve of the Lunar New Year, one's eyebrows would turn white. If, to keep the eyebrows from turning white, you keep moving the eyebrows like this, there is no chance for them to turn white; but if you sleep, it is said, they turn white altogether.

If you spend the time beyond the bounds of those who used to spend it without sleep, then, not merely because our body has aged, but together with the baby, the boy, the youth, and the man in his prime who sleep attending God, we shall come to a world in which one may be transferred into the bosom of the Father. And this is a world that becomes possible not in the air but upon the earth within thirty minutes. What hope is greater than this?

While giving full play to the inflated imagination of the hope of dreams, we must analyze and develop in still finer detail every internal technology contained therein.

We must, taking the lead in such an enthralling work that no one knows of, fulfill the calling responsibility entrusted to us and so accomplish God's deepest desire.

The warriors who set up the foremost stage of desire in this way have left their names as historical leaders and passed on. That remains forever. We must hold such a dream.

Hereafter, there will have to be a great migration. Do creatures live in one place? Even the birds do not. The migratory birds move from the frigid zone to the tropics and from the tropics back to the frigid zone.

And as for raising their young, how is it?

In the South Pole, what does the penguin do to raise a single chick? For several months, the male places the egg upon the top of his feet, warming it with his body, hatches it, and raises the chick; meanwhile, the female goes off to the sea, eats her fill of food until her belly is full, and returns to feed the chicks.

Even if you leave that chick alone, it will not die for at least three or even two months. When one looks at the world of animals that live with such instinctive presentiment, adapted to their biological environment, it is wondrous. It cannot but be a matter of concern.

Therefore, with a heart that studies more and strives to cross over more walls, you must know that the cry of hope, which can guide the way ahead, is calling me. Otherwise, you cannot cross over the many boundary lines.

Hold to a Dream, Fight Well and With Vigor Through the Remainder of Your Life

In the course of walking this path, Teacher too has felt many times — though I did not speak of it—the passing of such hours in moments wondrous and difficult to express.

At such times I would sit alone, then suddenly rise to my feet and, taking up a posture such as no one else could assume, shed tears of gratitude before Heaven; and seeing all things of creation standing there, I would love them like my sons, and say, “If there were nothing like you in the spirit world, I would create things like you myself and raise them.”

The age in which one can converse spiritually in this way and live one's life will surely come. You must prepare for it. Do not think of going on living in the cramped crevices of daily life. As for things like the bat, hundreds of them live in a single cave.

What do they eat to live?

In but an hour or two at twilight, the hundreds catch and eat insects. They eat not only mosquitoes but also dragonflies. Ah, the bat droppings inside that cave are a medicinal ingredient among medicinal ingredients.

If you dissolve in water the droppings of bats, some hundreds of years old, they melt, and new things can be researched and discovered.

To that extent, man has acquired all the skills in God's stead. Longing for the ideal world of the dream, without aging and dying, we are to be linked to the eternal world. Going to the spirit world is the same as the world of sleep. Not in collision but in a natural relationship, we must cross over without difficulty upon the standard of original nature.

In the Hoon Dok Hae sessions that continued here, the teacher has resolved every difficult problem at every pass that he spoke of. There is nothing left unknown.

The words I am conveying to you on this day of hopeful commemoration are precious and great; so that you may receive these precious and great words, you must love in your hearts the hundreds of billions of beings like yourselves, and going to the actual place, surveying the ground, you must be able to feel through to their inner state as you do that of your own children.

Know how beautiful such a worldwide environment will become, and, holding to a dream, I ask you to fight well and with vigor through the remainder of your life.
