Today is the ninth True Children's Day. What our family members must keep in mind whenever we greet the True Children's Day is the fact of how precious a day the True Children's Day is.
The Meaning of the True Children's Day
After God had made all things of Heaven and earth, He was to greet the True Children's Day centered on Adam and Eve.
Had He greeted True Children's Day at that time, from there True Parents' Day could have been set up, the Day of All Things could have been set up, and God's Day too would have been fixed.
Then what kind of day is this True Children's Day?
It is the day on which, as children, one can win victory and go forth to a cosmic place of glory.
But because the human ancestors fell, not one person among all humankind since Adam has yet won victory in a place united before God’s purpose and entered the place of glory that God can permit.
So the history of restoring the human being placed in such a position, the history of saving him, that is, the history of drawing him back again to the former place, is God’s providential history of Restoration until now.
Then what kind of one is the Savior? The Savior is the one who comes to raise the fallen people back to the original place. To speak of the True Children's Day is not to commemorate this one day because it is especially different from some other day. The True Children's Day is the day on which the human beings who, because of the Fall, could not take part in God’s place of glory, come, for the first time after history, to be able to take part in such a place and commemorate this for the first time as children.
If one follows the one who labored until this day came about, one can take part in such a place of glory. Therefore, our Unification Church family members today, if we follow the road the Unification Church goes, can without fail stand in the glorious place of children. Without greeting this True Children's Day, one cannot even be saved.
You go to the spiritual world. Jesus too is in the Paradise of that world. Yet that Jesus must come again to this earth. Why? Because, though he came having received the mission of the Messiah from God, he departed without completing that responsibility; he must come again.
If a person went on a business trip to some place, finished all the work, and came back, there would be no need to go again. Because he departed, leaving half of the mission he had to do, Jesus must come again. Because Jesus did not completely fulfill his responsibility, he failed to take part, as the Son of God, in the place of glory.
That is why Jesus prays even now. Prayer is what one does when what one desires and hopes for has not yet been achieved, wishing that it be achieved. It is asking God to supply the strength so that one can achieve it. Therefore, to escape that position of petition, he must come again to this earth and complete the original mission. Otherwise, one cannot go forth to the place of victory.
Christianity today says that by dying on the cross, Jesus accomplished everything, but that means that by dying on the cross, he accomplished spiritual salvation; it does not mean that he accomplished complete salvation of spirit and body.
God’s ideal of creation is not to make a spiritual Kingdom of Heaven. He sought to achieve the Kingdom of Heaven upon this earth centered on Adam and Eve.
Of course He desired that the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve too live as people of the Kingdom of Heaven. But since history began, not one person has set up such a standard. That is why such a family too could not appear.
The Core of Truth Is Father and Mother
Now, the Fall was not done by Adam alone, nor by Eve alone. Adam and Eve fell together. Thus Adam and Eve became the very ones who sowed the seed of resentment before God. Therefore, to pull out what the two sowed, it cannot be but two people.
So Jesus too came to this earth and set up the standard of bridegroom and bride. It was to pull out entirely the bitter root of sin that Adam and Eve had sown. To do so, he had to come in the same position as a parent, reproduce upon this earth the same position as Adam and Eve, and pull it out.
Then what kind of one is Jesus, who is the bridegroom?
He is the Savior, and that Savior is not in the standing of an elder brother but in the standing of a father. That is, he must be in the position of a father who can directly give us birth.
It is said that if one believes in Jesus, one is resurrected. Resurrection means that life is born again. In life being born again, there is no way of being born through an elder brother. Without having a bond of father and son, one cannot be born again.
That is why Jesus is the father and the Holy Spirit is the mother. The Holy Spirit that Christianity speaks of today is a Mother-Spirit. Because Adam and Eve, through the Fall, became false parents, only by restoring this do they become True Parents. Yet had Adam and Eve not fallen, becoming True Parents would have been simple. The standard of human history too would have been simple.
Then what is the content of truth?
However good the content of truth may be, it cannot take the place of one’s own mother and father; however good the content of truth may be, it cannot take the place of one’s own husband; nor can it take the place of one’s own wife or sons and daughters.
What is the highest truth among truths?
It is parents, husband and wife, and children. There is nothing beyond that. Then what is the center of truth? It is love. Viewed through the lens of this principle, what is the center of the highest truth?
People say that God is the substantial being of truth, the substantial being of goodness, the substantial being of love, and the substantial being of life; what does that mean? They are all the same words. For truth to be established, it cannot be without love and life.
For a human being to become a person who can speak true truth, there must be, within his life, a will and desire for truth. Here the desire is in a reciprocal position with the standard of one’s own character.
So what is the most central thing?
The substantial being of life, the substantial being of love, and the substantial being of truth is God; and what kind of one is God? He is at once the Father and the Mother of us human beings. The core is the Parents. Seen this way, God is a simple one.
We Must Love Jesus More Than Our Life
Then what has Christianity done for two thousand years?
It has been making preparations to greet the bridegroom. Among the human beings of this earth, the bridegroom and bride must come, and the bride comes as the mother and the bridegroom as the father.
Then why are a father and a mother needed by us again today?
Because we human beings were wrongly born through the Fall, we must be born again. That is why there is the word rebirth, that is, being born anew. Though you were born, you are in the same position as one born without even parents. That is why one must enter the mother’s womb again and come out. This is the history of salvation until now.
To carry out salvation, a father and a mother must come together, but until now only the father, Jesus, has come. Jesus is a savior in the standing of a father. He is not a savior in the standing of an elder brother. Then how must those who believe in Jesus today act? They must enter into the same place as the seed of a son, the seed of a daughter, hidden in the bones of a bachelor before he marries.
What is one to do by believing in Jesus?
Christian people say, “Let us resemble Jesus. Thereby let us become one with Jesus. So that Jesus may be within me, and I within Jesus….” What is that?
Jesus is not yet even married.
So where does Jesus go to seek?
From the position of not having gone forth to the place of a bridegroom, he spiritually goes seeking the seed of the baby that is in the man. And having done so, what is he to do? Now, through the body of the bride, that is, the body of the mother, he must deliver that baby. Otherwise, one cannot be reborn. What works spiritually to patch this up is the work of Jesus and the Holy Spirit in Christianity. That is why a person who has not received the Holy Spirit cannot be born again, and without passing through the mother’s womb, one cannot indemnify sin.
Then why does the Holy Spirit do the work of washing away sin?
Because the Holy Spirit is a Mother-Spirit. Because Eve, the mother of fallen humankind, sowed sin, the Holy Spirit, who is a Mother-Spirit, must come and wash away the sin. Therefore, by the principle of indemnity, the Holy Spirit comes to this earth and does the work of washing away sin. Then, having washed away sin, what is one to do? One must let humankind enter the place of the seed of a son, the seed of a daughter, in the bones of Adam before he married—that is, a person the father can possess at will.
That is why: how greatly must humankind love Jesus?
One must love him more than one’s own life. One must become one with Jesus. Man and woman alike cannot but love Jesus. A man too must yearn for Jesus enough to forget himself, and a woman too must yearn for Jesus enough to forget herself. That is not a worldly matter. Is yearning for one’s mother a worldly matter? Even if in the world one’s own husband or wife dies, one must be able to say that Jesus alone will not let go.
In our Unification Church, it is called the True Children's Day, and this is no simple matter. Now, “children” is male and female, is it not?
If you turn the two syllables of “children” (자녀) around, what does it become? It becomes “woman” (여자).
If you look at “children” reversed, the male disappears and only the female remains. So if you turn the world upside down, if you turn the law of Heaven and earth upside down, all is woman. This is just something said in passing, but there is such content in it.
That our Unification Church has decided on the True Children's Day means that it has made the origin by which the seed of sin that Adam and Eve sowed can be pulled out and humankind liberated from evil.
Meanwhile, because human beings failed to set up the True Children's Day, all things too failed to receive liberation and were within the realm of lamentation, and God too remained within the realm of lamentation. Because the True Children's Day was not held, the Day of All Things was not found, and all things failed to go forth to the place of glory.
So resentment remained before all things. Furthermore, God failed to greet a day of glory in which He could rejoice. The cause of all this becoming so lay in the failure to set up the True Children's Day.
The True Meaning of Holiness
Therefore, to have the True Children's Day, how must one act?
One must take hold of God at the origin that can completely set right what the wrongdoing children did wrong. Sons and daughters who can set right the loss of God caused by the conduct of the wrongdoing children must come forth and, by setting up the True Children's Day, seek God.
If God is found, what happens?
God goes forth to the place of glory and rejoices. Since God comes to rejoice, the sons and daughters too come to rejoice, and all things too come to rejoice.
So the Unification Church has sought and set up the True Parents' Day, the True Children's Day, the Day of All Things, and God's Day. The True Children's Day and the True Parents' Day are days that communicate with each other. The True Children's Day and the True Parents' Day are set up at one time. Then, to find them, how must one act? When we consider a single man, that man cannot be left to live alone.
Because the human being fell, he dropped from the position of God’s son all the way down to the position of the servant of a servant. From the position of God’s son, he dropped to the position of an adopted son, then again to the position of a servant, then again to the position of the servant of a servant. The servant of a servant must attend to a servant as his master.
From the position of God’s son, he dropped appallingly to the position of the servant of a servant. You must know that to restore this, God has carried out the Providence for six thousand years until now.
To restore this, how must one act?
How must one carry out the course of Restoration? One must climb back up in reverse from the position of the servant of a servant.
So in the Old Testament Age, one climbed from the position of the servant of a servant to the position of a servant, and in the New Testament Age, one climbed from the position of a servant to the position of an adopted son. To restore the fall all the way down to the position of the servant of a servant, one must climb back up in reverse.
In the Old Testament Age, from the time of Jacob to the time of Moses, one could cultivate and climb from the servant of a servant to the position of a servant, and the New Testament Age was the time of crossing from the position of a servant to the position of an adopted son.
At that time, as recorded in Romans chapter 8, because they had received the spirit of adoption, they could call, “Abba, Father.” An adopted son, who has not become God’s direct son. An adopted son is of a different bloodline. Of a different bloodline, I say.
Then, to climb from this position of an adopted son to the position of a direct child, how must one act?
One must be grafted by Jesus. Because the world is packed full of wild olive trees, one true olive tree must come, and the work of grafting must unfold.
Then, what kind of one did Jesus come?
He came as the Son of God. He came as a son. He came as the true olive tree.
What is the difference between a wild olive tree and a true olive tree?
Judged by outward appearance, they are all the same. Jesus too had eyes, a nose, ears, and a mouth, and had to clothe himself, eat, and sleep. He is entirely the same as you.
Some people who believe in Jesus think Jesus neither ate food nor went to the toilet, but Jesus too had to eat with a spoon and chopsticks and had to go to the restroom and pass water.
If I say such a thing, people will be displeased. They may say, “Oh, how could the holy Jesus…,” but that is what is holy. It is not something else that is holy.
In the human world today, eating is the most holy thing, and going to the toilet is the next most holy thing. Holiness is not somewhere else. The sun and all the natural world are all holy. A human being who denies this must be expelled from this earth. To deny it is to deny the value of existence.
People think that “holiness” is some peculiar thing, like having horns grown, but the butterfly flying, the bee flying, the bird singing, and children romping about are what is holy. Do not think, all of you, that what is holy is “something peculiar.”
When Jesus fasted, people said, “Since the holy Jesus fasted, let us fast too,” but why do you think Jesus fasted? He did not do it because he liked to. He did it because he could not help it.
If it were a matter of holiness, he would have put a zipper on his mouth and opened and closed it; why would he fast?
When you look into it, he did it because he could not help it. Then what is holiness? Sleeping when one wants to sleep, eating when one wants to eat, playing when one wants to play—that is what is holy. Do not consider it to be something peculiar.
Then what kind of place is the Kingdom of Heaven?
It is a place where one can eat at will and sleep at will. It is not outside the world but within this world. The Kingdom of Heaven is a place that has the authority to overcome everything and take the lead over everything, and the active nature that can digest everything.
The War Continuing for Six Thousand Years
Does the earth change because the earthly Kingdom of Heaven that the Unification Church speaks of today is achieved?
By no means. Only the direction changes. What has been going backward until now turns around in reverse. The direction changes, and the purpose changes.
The religious people of today must not keep going forward toward the road of the Fall but must turn around. They must turn around and be restored. And so they must pass by the place from which our ancestors of old set out. Climbing up and up in reverse, once one crosses over the standard at which Adam fell, one comes to meet God.
The purpose of religion too is to meet God face to face. That is why it says to settle all worldly affairs and “let us go.” And so it is to cross over and beyond the standard at which Adam of old set out. Go there, and God is there.
That is why, to go seeking God, it says to deny the world and turn around. Without denying the world, one cannot depart from a religion. Religion sets out only after denying the things of the world. When we consider such content, we cannot deny that we human beings have fallen. Fine or homely, all are fallen beings.
We climb from the position of the servant of a servant to the position of a servant, then, passing again through the position of an adopted son, meet the Son of God, are grafted, and return to the position of God’s direct son.
How does a grafted olive tree differ from an olive tree that has not been grafted?
When they bear fruit, is it different or the same? A wild olive tree too, once grafted by the true olive tree, becomes a true olive tree.
What happens if one grafts a wild olive tree onto a true olive tree?
God cuts off the wild olive tree and grafts the true olive tree there, and the devil and Satan are the ones who cut off the true olive tree and graft the wild olive tree there.
Among people too, there is true and false; what is true and what is false?
The conscience is true, and the body is false. So if this body, which is the wild olive tree, cuts off the mind, which is the true olive tree, what becomes of that person? He becomes a devil. And if the mind, which is the true olive tree, cuts off the body, which is the wild olive tree, that person becomes a son of God.
God is not in some other garden of the heavenly world. Nor is He dancing on some throne. He is in my mind. A person grafted in mind is a son of God, and a person grafted in body is a child of Satan.
When one conquers oneself, one completes one’s responsibility. That is why it is said, “Before desiring to govern the universe, first perfect the governing of yourself.”
Among the wars of the world, the greatest war is not the European war or World War. There is no war greater than the war to conquer “me.” This war has continued for six thousand years, yet that fight has not ended even now.
Has it ended, or not?
It has only made the bundle of sin ever greater. And so the six-thousand-year history of sin is gathered in you. Then who will overturn this history of sin? Because it cannot be done by you, a Messiah with greater strength than that is needed. A Son of God is needed, I say.
Then why is the True Children's Day needed?
The True Children's Day is needed because we lost that day. Then who caused it to be lost? God? All things?
Who caused it to be lost?
Adam and Eve lost it. So who must find it? Adam and Eve must find it. Because Adam and Eve made a mistake and put a hole in it, Adam and Eve must patch it up.
So the first Adam became the Adam who ruins, but the second Adam became the Adam who mends. The first Adam became the father who perishes, but the second Adam, Jesus, became the father who saves.
One Must Be Able to Witness Even Going to Hell
What is the Holy Spirit?
This Holy Spirit has not yet stood upon the earth. Therefore, to set this Holy Spirit upon the earth, the Lord must come again. But how will he come again?
Come again riding the clouds in the air?
Is there nothing else to ride, that he would come riding the clouds? It makes no sense.
What is a cloud?
A cloud is nothing but rain. Come riding a cloud?
Do not hold such a preposterous faith, I say. Because the Teacher says such a thing, they call it heresy, but wait and see who is the heretic. The truth is bound to strike down the false. A little further on, the Teacher may even tell you to fight the Christian believers. A person who has set even one foot into the Unification Church cannot be matched even by several hundred established-church believers clinging on.
Out of fear, Satan says,
“Aigo, do not even go to the Unification Church. Go there, and you perish.” After his death, for three days Jesus witnessed to the spirits in hell (1 Pet. 3:19).
So to follow Jesus, one must be able to witness even going to hell, and yet people say they will not so much as look at hell. Without seeing hell, one does not know the taste of heaven. Only one who has thoroughly felt the taste of hardship can feel even a small happiness as a very sweet happiness.
Once one has tasted honey, however good a thing one eats, one does not know its taste. The other day the Teacher ate a meat dish, and it was so delicious that I wanted to keep eating it. That, indeed, was the finest of medicines. (Laughter) An ordinary person would say, “It is just so-so,” but I did not know it could be that delicious.
It has undergone hardship; who lives with relish?
If some man, having met a wife not to his liking and living without relish, goes to a house living with relish, he thinks them truly happy. That does not mean I am telling you to marry twice. (Laughter) To become happy, the church is needed. A person must receive stimulation. Stimulation does not come from staying in the same usual place. Stimulation comes from contrast.
By Heaven alone, Heaven cannot be Heaven. Only when there is earth does Heaven turn. Is it not so? That is why everything is equipped with reciprocity.
“Because Jesus is in the spiritual world, he has become a pitiful Jesus”
— this is the Unification Church’s assertion. A pitiful Jesus, even if he saves, can only be a pitiful savior. He must come again and complete the mission he departed without completing. This is the Unification Church’s logic. The Unification Church’s logic is at once God’s logic.
If it were the Unification Church’s logic alone, the Teacher would not even assert it. Because the Teacher clearly came to know that it is so, he asserts it.
Restoration of the Word, Substantial Restoration, Restoration of Heart
Since man and woman put a hole in it to patch it up and make of them people who can be said to have no hole, the True Parents must come forth. Because the human ancestors became false parents, the True Parents must come forth.
What does it mean that Jesus comes to hold the marriage of the Lamb?
It means he comes as the True Parent to make us fallen human beings sons and daughters of God. One must become a son and daughter who can relieve the han of the Fall entirely and defeat Satan. Without becoming one qualified to drag Satan and set him before God’s court of judgment and play the role of prosecutor, one cannot become a son or daughter of God.
Until now Satan has dragged us and set us before God and played the prosecutor. Satan, centered on evil, played the prosecutor. That is why one who can, centered on goodness, condemn evil must come forth. The one who comes to play the role of prosecutor, condemning evil from the standpoint of goodness, is the Messiah.
Who is that Messiah?
He is the father of humankind. The mother of humankind must come forth together too. Because the two people, Adam and Eve, who were to be the parents of humankind, were lost, the two people who are to be the True Parents of humankind must come forth together. Without these True Parents coming forth, one cannot greet the True Children's Day.
Then what must we do to become children? We must be resurrected. Because Adam fell, he lost God’s Word, lost the body, and lost God’s love. He lost the Word, the character, and love.
So to restore, one must find these. Centered on God’s Word, one must practice according to the Word, harmonize according to the Word, and bear the fruit of the Word.
In bearing fruit, one must bear it centered on love. To practice centered on the Word and bear fruit, one must love. And in loving, one must not love centered on oneself. Because the master of love is God, one must love centered on God.
So the Unification Church must, centered on the Word, carry out substantial restoration and then restore the heart. One must carry out restoration of the Word, substantial restoration, and restoration of the heart.
Because Adam fell, he lost God’s Word, lost the body, and lost God’s love. So to restore these three things, the Unification Church tells one to restore centered on the Word.
Then what is the Word that the Unification Church teaches?
It teaches the Word that God has sought since history began. Therefore, one must become a person united with the Word. But when one is told to become a person united with the Word, countless people oppose it. Teacher Moon of the Unification Church was opposed by the Republic of Korea and by the world. Yet, not bending to it, he won victory centered on goodness.
Next, one must become one with God in heart. To do so, man and woman alike must follow one who has such a heart. Our Unification Church members today, to become masters, must hold the source of the motive by which one can shed tears out of longing to see God. Otherwise, one cannot restore this fallen world.
If the father weeps, the sons and daughters too must shed tears and weep. If the Teacher sheds tears, you too must shed tears together.
Do you, all of you, shed tears when the Teacher sheds tears?
Man and woman alike must feel it together. If you fail to stand in a place where you can say, “My mind too is surely so,” you must go seeking a place where you can be so once again.
A Unification believer must go seeking a road on which he can say that, even forsaking his own beloved sons and daughters, the Teacher is good, and even forsaking his wife or husband, the Teacher is good.
Just as, to be saved spiritually, one must enter seeking the place of the seed of a son, the seed of a daughter, within the body of Jesus, so when the Lord comes hereafter in substance, one must, centered on that substance, enter the place of the seed of the baby that was in the body of unfallen Adam of old, and hereafter be able to meet the mother and be born. Only then can one be born again. Would it not be so?
How did one come to be a seed of sin?
One came to be so through sinful love. So by loving, one must dig into the bones of the mother and father. When the content that can agree with such a principle is lacking in the Unification Church, one must abandon the Unification Church and go again to another place. To speak frankly, it is so.
Even abandoning the Unification Church, one must go seeking a place equipped with such content.
One must go seeking a place where one can say, “In fact, it must be so.”
When people come to the Unification Church, they say it is strange. Man and woman alike, when they see the Teacher, do not know what to do with themselves.
These days the Teacher does not directly guide, but in the old days, because the Teacher was so much reviled and made such a commotion, he shook off those who followed. It is so even now. Even so, when the Word is spoken all night long until one is intoxicated with it, they too become intoxicated.
When the Teacher speaks gloomily, they too are gloomy, and when the Teacher speaks with elation, they too are elated. Are you too so?
If not, then either you are fakes, or I am a fake, one of the two. If the Teacher is not a fake, then you are the fakes, I say. If both are fakes, then you die too, and the Teacher dies too.
A man too, when he thinks of his parents, sheds tears, does he not?
Thinking of parents who go without clothing and food and suffer hardship, one just sheds tears because, as a child, one failed to do one’s duty.
Moreover, if a parent lies suffering from illness, one must have a mind of repentance, staking one’s whole life. A feeling as though one’s bones were melting must arise. Without that, it will not do.
When Adam and Eve fell and dropped away from before God, they felt such a mind. They felt a sorrowful and grievous mind, I say. That is why, in restoring this, a thing by which one can feel a joyful and grateful mind must unfold.
Only When Everything Is Joined Does Harmony Unfold
What does the Unification Church teach?
It teaches the way of parents. It is fundamentally different from the teaching of Christianity. What Christianity teaches is the way of a son, but what does the Unification Church teach? “The way of parents.” This is what is different. Between a son and a higher parent? The parent is higher. That is why in the Unification Church one prays not in the name of Jesus but in the name of the True Parents. It is going one step ahead.
If God exists as the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one should pray in the name of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; why pray in the name of Jesus? Why pray holding only the name of one of them, I say?
When one says “Parents,” everything is bound to come in, so if anything, one should pray in the name of the Parents; why pray, so regrettably, holding only the name of one?
Now, if, among man and woman, one gives rice cake saying only the man is good, saying, “Aigo! The taste of this rice cake is marvelous.” Would the woman be pleased?
Even while saying the Holy Spirit too is of the Trinity, why, when praying, does one leave out the Holy Spirit and say, “I pray in the name of Jesus”? Even at home, is the father good and the mother a being who may as well not exist?
Does one lavishly set out the father’s birthday while not even remembering the mother’s birthday?
That the bond of parents is the harmony of Heaven and earth is known even to those who do not believe today.
Everything is reciprocal. Whatever it is, only when it is joined does harmony unfold. The eyes, the nose, the ears, and the lips—harmony is achieved from their all being joined to one another.
Likewise, only when the two, mother and father, are joined can one embrace everything of the world. However much one does alone, it will not do.
By breathing in alone, one cannot live. Breathing in is needed, but breathing out is needed too, I say. Now, because you live by taking in oxygen, is only breathing in needed? Try breathing in three times in a row. Then, on the contrary, breathing out will become necessary. One must breathe out and send the carbon dioxide out of the body for much oxygen to come in.
With the man alone coming forth, it will not do. Today’s world is a world centered on the man. That is why, fundamentally, a women’s liberation movement must be carried out. Viewed by the Principle, for more than three years the man must obey the woman.
So for one individual to be restored, one must go through the right way. Because, through the Fall, Adam and Eve, the two, dropped; in climbing, the two must climb. Climbing is like re-creation.
In creating, He made Adam first and made Eve. Therefore, in re-creating too, He makes Adam and then makes Eve.
History until now has been a restoration history, a history of making Adam. That is why there is no woman saint in the world. Have you, all of you, seen a woman saint?
Have you heard that there is a woman saint?
There is the phrase “the mother of a saint.” We have heard the story of Mencius’ mother, but that does not mean she is a saint.
In the end, history until now has been a history of re-creation. In saving fallen human beings, one cannot save the two at once. One cannot but pass first through the process of making anew, that is, the process of re-creation.
Then just what kind of one is the Lord who comes?
He is the one who comes to this earth as a man who has completed the purpose of creation, to take possession of the right of inheritance of the Cosmos. It is simple.
The Lord is the one who comes as a person of character representing the position of Adam before he married, that is, the Adam who was set up in the Garden of Eden when he had not fallen in the Garden of Eden. And that Lord, who comes in place of the position of the unfallen, unmarried Adam of the Garden of Eden, must hold a wedding. That is why, having come, what must he do first? He must find the woman, that is, the mother.
Viewed in the history of the Old Testament or the New Testament, the leaders of the church, the prophets, and the seers are all men. God thus set up one man and, centered on him, grew him greater and greater. And the one He made great enough to become the Son of God, representing the whole of humankind, and who came holding the name of Son of God, is Jesus. The one who comes holding God’s heart, circumstances, and desire entirely is Jesus. And the Lord who comes to this earth is a person the same as the unfallen Adam whom God made in direct relation.
The Right Attitude in Facing Established-Church Believers
It is said that after making Adam, He pulled out Adam’s rib and made Eve; that He made her by pulling out a rib means that He made her modeled after him. The saying “bone of bone, flesh of flesh” is likewise. These days Christians say a man is missing one rib, but let them cut open the belly and look.
There is something bigger and thicker there; how is anything missing?
And with that, they say they will go to heaven? It is the same as saying, within the fence of a kindergarten, “I will become a graduate-school doctor.”
Because Teacher Moon of the Unification Church has come forth, now the liberation of Christianity unfolds. One must liberate the Catholic nuns and have them marry.
If they are left as they are, they cannot go even to the ground hall (지당), let alone heaven (천당).
Yet the members of the Unification Church now have a mishap because their official hats are too big. Because the hat is too big, their legs wobble, and they are on the verge of arthritis. It is because, holding it only in the head, only the head is big and the body is small.
So for the body, one must graft the body of established-church believers. The Teacher needs established-church believers.
The established-church believers revile Unification believers, but I need the established church. So in fighting with them, I lose to them all by myself. They try to keep away from me, but I try to draw near to them; what am I to do?
A person who says he will draw near cannot be rejected forever. They call me a leech and an enemy, but I face them with a smile and with the attitude of serving them for thousands of years. Then in the end they come to follow.
The other day, it seems Shin Sa-hun met with a mishap while holding a rally slandering our Unification Church; the Teacher, upon returning from Chuncheon, found that the affair had already broken out. In that affair, Teacher Moon of the Unification Church had no involvement at all, yet they laid it on Teacher Moon of the Unification Church as though he had done it; so who has committed the greater sin?
Seen from Heaven, that person has committed the greater sin, I say.
The Teacher thinks so and is consoled. When we stand at the judgment seat, that person will be caught by the Teacher’s condition of accusation; the Teacher will not be caught by that person’s condition of accusation. Is it not so? They call the Unification Church a “dreadful heresy.” It seems it is indeed dreadful. Why would they dread a person who is simply staying still for no reason? Is it not that they dread it because they have committed some sin?
Established-church believers, seeing the Teacher, say, “Mun Jesus, Mun Jesus!”; what is bad about becoming Jesus? Since the people of the world are all seeking Jesus, if the Teacher becomes Jesus, will not the people of the world all come seeking me?
At that time, if I save the pitiful people of Korea, what is bad about it?
I never even said such a thing, yet the established-church believers keep saying, “Mun Jesus, Mun Jesus!” Furthermore, the name “Unification Church” is not one I attached. But since that name too is not overly bad, I use it as it is. At any rate, not everything they say is wrong. In that vein, they may even, while dying, tell their children, “When I die, you go to the Unification Church.” (Laughter)
The History of Re-creation Begins from the Nation Where Women Suffered More
From now on, a women’s liberation movement must be carried out. Now that the man can be restored, the time has come to restore the woman and find the woman.
If, finding the woman, one forms a husband and wife, man and woman alike can stand in the position of being equal. So a women’s liberation movement must unfold, I say.
That worldwide women’s rights movements and human rights advocacy movements unfold around the time of the Second World War is because the bridegroom, the father of humankind, greets the mother of humankind and enters the age of establishing the law of the Kingdom of Heaven. History is going, seeking its point of conclusion in such a direction.
If you dislike believing in the Unification Church, then do not believe. A person who is already fully qualified to go to the Kingdom of Heaven following what God pursues, without the slightest hindrance, need not be indebted to the Teacher, but because all are not so, one must be indebted to the Teacher. Is the Teacher indebted to you, or are you indebted to the Teacher? You are all indebted to the Teacher.
The man needs the woman, and the woman needs the man; why, then, at the first departure, could they not set out with equal right and position?
It is because there is the law of Heaven and earth by which Eve was created after Adam was created. Therefore, before Adam is perfected, Eve must not go alone upon this earth. Because the woman overturned the heavenly law and made even the man unusable, until the man resolves han and saves the woman, if the woman strays from her place, a great disaster arises.
Then, illuminating history, what kind of nation is the nation that can be most blessed?
It is among the nations that have a history in which women were mercilessly exploited and suffered wretched agony that God’s hand of love can draw near. Such a nation is the Republic of Korea, I say.
Only when the woman is despised more than the man and goes to a place of unspeakable pity can one be said to be able to represent the world. Therefore, through the people where women are most miserable and despised, people must be shaped and made anew.
In making anew, it is best to make anew once things have reached the last extremity, all torn like rags. Therefore, from a nation with a historical background in which women suffered hardship most bitterly, the history of re-creation begins. In that respect, it can be seen that the Republic of Korea has become the foundation on which the Lord can come.
Have Korean women suffered hardship until now, or not?
To bear a child, does a woman suffer hardship or not?
If the child is not despised, one must oneself be despised by someone. If one cannot, God despises the person to indemnify him.
Korean women seem pitiful, but seen in this respect, it is not so. So I think I must make the Unification believers suffer a little more hardship. Do you dislike it, all of you, or is it all right? “It is all right.” That is why in the Unification Church until now the women have stood at the vanguard and fought.
From now on, when spies appear, the women of the Unification Church must take part in the search operations to catch spies. We must organize search mobile squads, go out as the advance party, and fight the spies. Will you do so?
For a human being to be restored, from the lowest position of the servant of a servant, one must become a servant, become an adopted son, and there again be grafted and become a son.
Only by becoming a direct son can one receive Heaven’s Blessing. However much the man alone has received Heaven’s Blessing, it cannot be said to be a complete Blessing.
Likewise, however much a woman has become a queen, that is not being blessed. However much one boasts of being a queen, and however much one boasts of being a king, when there is no partner, one perishes. Men, do not boast. Without the woman, one perishes in one’s own generation.
Meeting a Good Partner Is the Blessing Among Blessings
What is a blessing?
Eating well and living well is not a blessing. Meeting a good partner is a blessing.
To cultivate the road of husband and wife, following the bond of Heaven and earth and following the law of the heavenly way, is the blessing among blessings.
Is there a blessing beyond that?
However much popularity, authority, and splendid family lineage one has, if one meets the wrong wife, that person comes to nothing. A person with a good signboard and a fine build, if he meets the wrong wife, is of no use, I say. And however fine a woman, if she meets the wrong husband, it is likewise. That is why, what is the greatest blessing among blessings? It is meeting a good partner. That is the greatest blessing. Only by meeting a good partner can one bear splendid children. Would it not be so?
Restoring centered on the Son, what must one do in the end?
Because one fell through a false bond and through false love, one must receive the true love that the God of true love gives, that is, receive the Word of the heavenly way, and form a family that can keep the heavenly law according to the heavenly way.
One must achieve the Kingdom of Heaven beginning from the family, but because Jesus too failed to form a family, he could not go to the Kingdom of Heaven and is in Paradise. Paradise is like a waiting room for going to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Hell came about because the human being fell. It is not something God made from the beginning.
Then what kind of place is the Kingdom of Heaven?
It is a place one enters as a man and woman together, forming a family. But because Jesus came to this earth and, failing to find a bride, departed without having sons and daughters, he has until now been praying for two thousand years in Paradise and having the Holy Spirit work.
Because sin was committed first by the woman, when the female-spirit Holy Spirit comes and appears as the substance of the mother and washes away sin and cleanses the world, Jesus must come again as the bridegroom with a new seed. It is God’s purpose that, recharged, we make a new world centered on God as the king of the True Parents of a new Heaven and earth. Only when such a world is achieved can it be said that God’s plan has all been achieved as purposed.
If God carried out the Providence for six thousand years without even a purpose, such a God would not even need to be believed in.
If the human being before the Fall were no different from the human being after the Fall, then however much one saves such human beings, there would be a strong possibility of falling again later. That is why the Unification Church set up this True Children's Day.
Teacher Moon of the Unification Church established this day, and the Unification Church taught this historic content. But that alone does not accomplish it. Here, one must without fail pass through the process called the Blessing. That is why the Unification Church’s joint wedding ceremony came about. The people of the world say the Unification Church’s joint wedding ceremony is done because there is no money, but it is not so.
By greeting this day, what unfolds?
The view centered on the Teacher, passing through this process, decides the position of parents. So after setting True Parents' Day in 1960, True Children's Day was set.
When the parents of humankind appear, the children too are decided. Before going forth to the place of deciding the children, there is the starting line of the parents.
Yet on the course of Restoration, it is not the parents alone; the bond of children too must be cultivated.
Viewed centered on the children, who are the horizontal bond, the True Parents' Day must set out first and the True Children's Day later, but from the standpoint of having to restore, the True Children's Day sets out first and the True Parents' Day later.
Because True Parents' Day was set on a horizontal standard and True Children's Day was proclaimed, that day appeared for the first time in Heaven and on earth since history began. This day is a day on which one can raise a shout of victory in Heaven and on earth. By this day being set, the spiritual world greeted its time, so what had been knotted is being released.
Therefore, the powers of evil upon this earth gradually die out before the road the Unification Church goes. World history, I say, turns according to the Teacher.
The Communist Party is set up to decline before it passes eight generations. This is so from a principled viewpoint. And after forty years, within the Communist Party, it must divide into two. Because the Communist Party began in 1917, from 1957, after forty years passed, the ideological dispute between the Soviet Union and Communist China arose.
Our Unification Church set out around that time. That time was, for the Teacher, the time of entering the third year of the Second Seven-Year Course. It is all set up to be bound to be so. It must beat in time with a certain motive.
For Fallen Human Beings, the Festival Among Festivals Is the True Children's Day
What forms the basis of the thought of the heart that makes up the mainstream of the providence of Restoration is a parent’s love for a child.
Does that change?
God, and our forefathers a hundred generations back, were so; a being that violates that love cannot survive upon this earth.
Yet people do not know this. Heaven and earth wish to find that love, and Jesus too came to find that love.
If the bridegroom comes, the bride must come forth. Only then does a family arise. There may be one who says, “Why was I born a woman?” but what is the reason one was born a woman? It is to marry.
What does it mean to marry?
It means to greet a man, love, and thereby form a husband and wife and become parents. Any person, any being, that does not tread that process perishes.
That Buddhism and Christianity flourished today is because they entered within the sphere of the age of the creation of man, within that sphere of heavenly fortune. Do you understand? So now it is the married monks (대처승) who triumph.
If the Roman papal court had only priests and nuns, it would perish.
If the Roman pope had two sons, Cain and Abel, and one asked, “Must they marry, or not?” the crowd that says, “They must not marry,” all perish.
The woman was born to meet the man, and the man was born to meet the woman, were they not? That is the highest truth. Therefore, following such a principle, one must go seeking the sphere of the Blessing. To depart from the sphere of the highest truth is the highest evil—the highest evil.
Love is like the center pole of a compass and cannot be moved. Because that love is in God, because the standard of heart of a parent’s love for a child does not change, Satan cannot take possession of it.
However evil a parent may be, he does not teach his child, “Hey! It felt good when I beat a man to death; you too try beating a man to death.” Is there such a parent? Even one who is himself an evil robber teaches his child, “Become a good person.”
However evil a parent may be, one must conform to that law. That is the heavenly law. Evil too cannot take possession of it. Evil is always in a reciprocal position; it cannot become the center.
God too gazed upon that, and Jesus too lived centered on it. That is precisely love. It is a parent’s love for a child. Without finding the place of son and daughter that God originally sought to set up, one cannot enter that high Kingdom of Heaven. It is the merit of the Unification Church Teacher to commemorate the day on which such a place was found and to have made it possible to decide this. You must know this well, all of you. What I say will unfold in the history to come.
So He sought and set up True Parents' Day, True Children's Day, the Day of All Things, and God's Day. For fallen human beings, the greatest festival among festivals is, more than the True Parents' Day, the True Children's Day. Do you understand? For fallen human beings, what day is the most precious day? “The True Children's Day.”
That day is the day of finding the authority of parents again and the day of appearing with the flag of victory, having driven off Satan, who had ravaged human history for six thousand years.
Only by greeting that day can fallen human beings enter the Kingdom of Heaven and attend the Heavenly Parent.
Now, even Unification Church members cannot attend the Heavenly Parent by going only among themselves. One must build a bridge and attend to Him. Do you understand?
So, man and woman alike, all must build a bridge to the people in the spiritual world. This day is a day that not only Unification believers but all the people of the world hereafter must keep forever. Christmas is not the issue.
What day is the most blessed day for fallen human beings?
The True Children's Day. Next, the day on which the victorious princes and princesses, holding the glory of the True Children's Day and its authority, can attend the parents is the True Parents' Day. That is why, to become a child, one must go the course of indemnity.
Yet these days, when I look closely, they are failing to walk the road of indemnity straight. Even though I taught it all clearly, if they cannot go straight as taught, the Teacher cannot take responsibility.
Going to the spiritual world, even if one says, “Teacher, have I not seen the Teacher since the days of the Cheongpa-dong church?” at that time the Teacher will look wearing the spectacles of the Principle. Do you understand? He will look as if wearing the spectacles of the course the Teacher has walked. So if one matches it, he will accept; if one does not match, he will not accept.
In the course of the providence of Restoration, because God too looks upon me wearing such spectacles, I have carried out this work to match it until now. Therefore, I feel not the slightest pang of conscience toward all the people of the world. Receiving pangs of conscience, one cannot speak boldly.
The Process Until the Position of Parents Is Decided
Now! Then, did you merely guess at such a joyful day, thinking, “So that is how it is,” or did you clearly know it? Did you feel it to the point that electricity ran tingling through your bones and your whole body became a ball of fire?
You must leap, not knowing what to do for joy, to the point of fainting and falling for sheer gladness. Have you, all of you, rejoiced like that?
If a day comes when the sons and daughters that God labored six thousand years to seek can resolve God’s han and dance together, how greatly will God rejoice? Before a rejoicing God, would you be perplexed, saying, “Ah, why is that God like that”?
You must become one who, not merely running up crying “Father!” and dancing with the arms raised, but also mobilizing hands and feet altogether, dances and makes the Father more delighted and more joyful. Yet to what degree are you making God rejoice?
You must not become people who merely, reluctantly, try to mimic, saying, “Father!” You must become the bone of God’s bone, the flesh of His flesh, and the blood of His blood.
All of you! The True Parents' Day must hereafter be made to shine forever by you.
Even if the Teacher, having been on the second floor, comes down three days later, it will not do for you, having come here, to leave without even greeting him.
However much one celebrates the next day, it is set up so that the celebration does not count.
Because the Teacher is in the vertical position, True Children's Day means, for the Teacher as an individual, that he passed through the process of resurrection of the Word, substantial resurrection, and resurrection of heart. Do you understand? You have probably heard the phrases “substantial resurrection” and resurrection of heart,” but you probably have not heard the phrase resurrection of the Word.” That is something God decides.
You, too, must pass through the resurrection of the Word, substantial resurrection, and resurrection of heart. Without passing through the resurrection of the heart, one cannot stand in the position of the subject man.
Only after receiving God’s recognition in the position of the subject man can one at last open the door of the Blessing and enter. In other words, one must, holding the heart of a perfected ideal man who can re-create Eve, become a subject model who can, centered on the Word, re-create the partner Eve. Then that partner, Eve, must, in absolute obedience, follow up to the standard of becoming one there.
That is why, in the vertical position, one decides the position of the son and then decides the position of the parents, which is the central purpose. So, centered on the Teacher, that position of parents was decided vertically in 1960. That is why you, who pass through the course of Restoration, must walk that kind of road.
So, having set the True Parents' Day, the True Children's Day was proclaimed from the horizontal position. And thus, through the Teacher, the resurrection of the Word, substantial resurrection, and resurrection of the heart came forth. Because it has become so, at last, centered on one man, the Blessing can be achieved here, and one can enter a new age of history. And thus, because I became a parent in relation to you, I bless you as the sons and daughters of a new age.
That is why you need not pass through the process of substantial resurrection on the course of indemnity as the Teacher did. Because the Teacher grafted it all and came forth, if you just follow the Teacher, you can go forward without receiving Satan’s accusation.
The Formula of Cosmic Unification
Is the True Children's Day a joyful day or a sorrowful day? “A joyful day.” When one greets the True Children's Day, one can find the parents and can find the children. Only then can we face God.
If we fail to greet that day, we will remain in the same position as orphans born without parents. Because we fell, the children born without parents come to find the parents and so can bear normal sons. The Teacher, equipping such a standard, set this day.
So in March (lunar) of 1960, the True Parents' Day, and in October (lunar), the True Children's Day, were proclaimed. That is why there is work to be done centered on the children. One must find the twelve children.
Next, thirty-six couples come forth by the three ages of formation, growth, and completion. Next, because the thirty-six couples, in the position of ancestors, must set up Cain and Abel and restore through indemnity, seventy-two couples come forth. And thus, centered on one family, one must go beyond the family environment and continue into the form of a nation and the form of a world.
Such work is work that you must do, but the Teacher finds it in your stead. Now the time has come when the family can enter, society can enter, and all nations can enter—when Heaven and earth can overlap—so one enters a new age. Because this is entered while passing through the Seven-Year Course, history gradually changes.
Therefore, now the end has come to the democratic world too, and the end has come to the communist world too, I say.
But the problem is how deeply, meaningfully you know the True Children's Day. Because the Teacher tells you, you know it as such; did you ever even know it, any of you? Someone may say, “Aigo, the Teacher is good at making things up.” Indeed, he made it up well.
However much one makes things up, could one make them up so well?
If one cannot make it up any better than that, it is a formula. If, however much one makes it up, one can make it up no further and there is nothing to criticize, it becomes a formula. Once it becomes a formula, it is unchanging.
What is a formula?
If, taking some one thing, one applies it to a hundred problems and solves them all, then it can become the model of everything, that is, the standard. Then it becomes a formula. A formula is nothing special.
If some small principle can conform to the whole, it becomes a formula and a law.
However anyone applies it anywhere, the formula has no flaw. Even applying God to it, there is no flaw. And however much the countless people of the world study it, they cannot but recognize it. It becomes, in the end, the final formula of cosmic unification. When it becomes so, a unified world comes to be achieved. It is a matter of time.
That is why the Teacher, though reviled with all sorts of abuse until now, holds out boldly and carries on this work. You may be crouching, worn out, but the Teacher finds it fascinating. Looking at the various events unfolding in this world, it is fascinating.
When I say, “Such a thing will happen hereafter…,” such a thing without fail happens. Therefore, the Teacher thinks of nothing else. Even though the course of Restoration is going along like this, you are thinking of other things.
Since We Must Die Anyway, Let Us Go a Road Where We Can Die Splendidly
The Teacher suffers hardship because he is in the position of the father, the master of the one household called the Unification Church.
Since he suffers hardship like this, the result must be one in which all can rejoice together. That is why anyone must cooperate with my work, our work.
If one failed to cooperate, one must, seeing the result, give thanks and resolve to cooperate at least thereafter. Yet now you can neither do this nor that—all is a mess. You, too, will know this fact well.
All of you, there is grime on the human body, is there not?
Before that grime became grime, it was flesh. Is it not so? Is it good or bad, all of you, to have grime on the body? Then have you become the flesh of the Unification Church? Or have you become grime?
If you have become grimy, what must you do?
You must wash it all off. Even if it was good in the old days, because today it is harmful, it must be washed off.
Do you need the Teacher, or not? “We need him.” How much do you need him? People, when the amount they need is fully met, throw it away. To do so is offensive.
If one is going to do that, one had better not come to the church at all! You need the Teacher only until the purpose of national restoration and salvation is achieved, and beyond that you throw him away, I say. But the Teacher needs God until the restoration of the Cosmos is completed.
The Unification Church appeared, through the course of six thousand years, holding infinite value to save human beings and to graft. That is why the road to go is far, there is no time, and it is busy. One cannot rest. Those who rest are those who will spit and run away midway.
How much do you need the Teacher?
You must need him until you die.
If you know that you need him until you die for the sake of the purpose, that is enough. To say one needs him until one dies for the sake of the purpose is a saying more vivid than the restoration of the Cosmos. What remains after you die is nothing but the record of loyalty offered before Heaven’s purpose.
You are in the same position as a prisoner who has received a death sentence and awaits the day of execution. By the heavenly law, you are in the position of a criminal greater than a murderer-robber, I say.
Every human being is set up to die after some decades. One dies not by another’s hand but by natural law. There is planted, plainly, the signpost of a death sentence. That is why how one lives and how one dies is an important matter.
Since it is a body that must die anyway, since we must die, let us die splendidly. You must become people who can die for the sake of the purpose.
However outstanding a beauty of surpassing looks, one cannot pass a hundred years. It is a human life that must, to the sound of a funeral dirge, go bearing the seven-star board (칠성판).
Since it is a body that must die anyway, if there is a road on which one can die splendidly, let us go that road.
In the Unification Church, it is said that, having received the Blessing and formed the Four Position Foundation, one must restore three generations and therefore must bear sons and daughters. With oneself and one’s children alone, it is only the restoration of two generations.
Vertically, it is three generations—God, the Teacher, and oneself—but viewed centered on oneself, because the Teacher becomes the grandfather; only by marrying off one’s son and one’s grandson can it be said that three generations are restored vertically. Unless three generations are completely restored, even God can do nothing.
Only When We Completely Deny the Things of This World Does God’s Love Come
If one lives one’s life of faith just carelessly and then dies, while other people achieve this purpose and come, and one alone fails, what would that be?
A person of faith must, through the life of faith, overcome death. Otherwise, one cannot go to the Kingdom of Heaven. When the road to go is busy, if one does all one wishes to do, when can one complete the restoration through indemnity?
One must go without looking to the side, but you have become the opposite. That will not do. In the old days the Teacher, while commuting to school, did not ride the streetcar but went almost entirely on foot. It was not a lack of money.
Saying, “I am walking the road of indemnity,” I did all sorts of things. And with that money, I helped pitiful people. Why do you think I did so?
It is a person who holds a mind of wishing to offer before Heaven from the position of becoming an offering who wins victory on the road of the Way. We Unification believers must know that we must be different from others.
One must hold the heart of doing anything for the sake of the purpose. Only then can one go the road of Restoration, that is, the road of indemnity.
In carrying out individual indemnity, because one cannot do it by oneself, one must set up a reciprocal being and do it. But because that holy being has not come forth into the world until now, one indemnifies through a reciprocal material thing.
The offering of sacrifices in the Old Testament Age is that.
Next, because the substance that can indemnify reciprocally came forth, it was the age of the substantial offering, that is, the age of Jesus.
Then what is the highest partner of the human being?
Jesus too, who came to this earth, sought a family centered on love. The highest partner is a family centered on love. To find it, one must oneself pass through the process of being an offering in this world. One must pass through the process of an offering centered on one’s own body, I say.
Forsaking the love of the satanic world, one must restore through indemnity the love of the heavenly world.
In oneself, one must transcend material things, transcend the desires centered on the body, transcend lust, and deny all the realistic and sensual elements one has had until now. One must pass through such a process.
By denying that and pursuing God’s love, one comes to receive God’s love. Because it was Satan who set this in motion, only by completely denying this does God’s love come. Without denying the world, God does not love one. A man who does not hold God’s love cannot form a family. It is the same for a woman too. Man and woman alike must walk the course of restoration through indemnity.
That is why a church denomination that values the material things of the world perishes. Believers who go to church only if given the office of elder and who stop going to church because the pastor preached a sermon they did not like to hear go to hell. They perish, I say.
We, Who Must Transcend Material Things
For us, there remains the course of indemnity. For the sake of the purpose, one must sacrifice everything, keep the purity of one’s body, and follow the purpose even if one loses one’s own kin and relatives all at once.
Even if all one’s kin and relatives forsake one, one must follow the purpose. Noah of history was so, Abraham was so, and Moses was so. That does not mean they lost everything. They exchanged it for the eternal. But they did not know that they would lose everything and gain the eternal. They knew it only roughly and did not know the concrete content.
The Old Testament Age is the age of offering, of indemnifying through material things. So they faced God through offerings. Viewing ourselves today, we cannot but indemnify the vertical history of the Old Testament Age, the New Testament Age, and the Completed Testament Age. That is why you must face all people holding a standard of heart by which you can become a son of God.
To do so, just as in the Old Testament Age, you must indemnify through material things. You must indemnify through material things and be able to lay down your life for the sake of the purpose and go.
Just as Jesus bore the cross and crossed over the road of death, you too must cross over the road of death. And so you must become the bridegroom and bride of hope whom God can meet. That is the history of Restoration.
Though we Unification believers must pass through such a process, we buy houses and bring in household goods, saying we will live well. Trying to live well, all perish.
Today’s restoration through indemnity is for myself to complete, centered on the Old and New Testament scriptures. History until now has been carried on so.
Therefore, you must become the victor of the Old Testament Age, must become the victor of the New Testament Age, and must become the subject in the Completed Testament Age.
When we consider these things, for you yourself to indemnify the Old Testament position, you must sacrifice your body. That is why it is rather better for a person challenged to enter the world of the purpose.
When one is in a situation where one can eat only gruel, if one offers a bowl of gruel for the sake of the purpose, it amounts to having offered all one’s material things.
If one has become a cousin of a beggar, wearing scraps of rags, and one goes to a beggar’s den and shares out those rags, then material things are indemnified in a single day.
Do you understand what I mean?
That is why those who walk the road of the Way go seeking the worst place. Why is that? It is to indemnify. Without passing through indemnity, it will not do. Therefore, one must indemnify the vertical history horizontally.
The Old Testament Age was the time of indemnifying centered on all things, and the New Testament Age was the age of indemnifying centered on Jesus, the Son of God.
Next, centered on that Son, one must enter within the sphere of God’s heart. There the position of children is decided, and there the position of bridegroom and bride is decided, and a family is formed.
The Old Testament Age is limited to all things and to sons and daughters, but Jesus must become the bridegroom and bride and must find a family.
Because such a history has come down over six thousand years and the vertical history is indemnified horizontally, unless you yourselves transcend material things before the purpose, you cannot go the road of the purpose. To be stingy in offering sacrifices before God is the same as robbing God of what is His.
Just as Jesus, centered on God’s purpose, gave thanks, saying, “Abba, Father, not as I will,” and bore the cross of death, you too must, with such a mind, bear the cross of death and cross over the hill of Golgotha.
That is, representing the people, cross over the worldwide hill of Golgotha. This is the Unification Church’s method of guidance. You must go alone. You must go alone. Just as Jesus, forsaken by his disciples, crossed over Golgotha alone in solitude, you too must cross over alone.
In crossing over Golgotha, one crosses over not by dying like Jesus but by living. And so one must restore through indemnity, horizontally, the vertical history. The six thousand years of history correspond to this Seven-Year Course. It is indemnifying six thousand years in seven years.
It is indemnifying in seven years the seven thousand of six thousand plus a thousand years. Because this is a formula, every fallen human being must pass through the Seven-Year Course.
Once one passes this period, any matter becomes possible to gather. That is why even a spiritually inspired revival group, once it passes seven years, hits bottom and packs up its bundle.
That seven years is the period it takes to indemnify the vertical history horizontally. Until now, passing through the age of offering and going all this road, it was the age in which Christianity cultivated the road, and Jesus and the Holy Spirit spiritually offered the sacrifice. It is the age in which the parents must bear the cross, I say.
In the Unification Church, the parents are actually bearing the cross. That is why the vertical history can be indemnified horizontally. Therefore, this formula course must be walked by everyone as a child. Hereafter, for anyone to become a member of Heaven’s family, one must register all one’s property in Heaven’s storehouse.
One must register the material things and register oneself too. It is the same as a bride going to be married. Because Jesus is called the bridegroom and we are called the bride, all must prepare to be married.
When one is married, one takes along property and body, does one not?
One must register all that is one’s own at the bridegroom’s house.
Originally, one was to be registered within God’s glory, but the registration was not made. Yet that age of registration is coming, I say. Because, having received Satan’s blood, one cannot inherit from God; one must become a son who can inherit. That is why one must register all material things, register the body, and register the heart. That registering is precisely the bride going to be married to the bridegroom.
The Jesus that Christianity speaks of is external, but from this viewpoint he becomes the inner and outer bridegroom. If it is said that Jesus must marry, Christianity will jump up in a fury.
It is the Blessing of the Unification Church to do that work within the fallen sphere. That is why you must gather your mind, body, and material things. God’s love must be able to be present within your mind, and the body must do as Jesus practiced upon this earth.
One must practice the content that Jesus and the Holy Spirit worked for two thousand years, I say. There is no other way.
From this standpoint, the Teacher must bear the worldwide mission, and you must bear the tribal mission. The Teacher has cultivated the road the whole can go, but from now on you must gather it up.
In that sense, you must know the fact that, by the coming of the day that can decide all these conditions, a cosmic-historical origin is laid down by which the vertical history is indemnified horizontally.
How joyful and how enormous a thing, worthy of the universe’s praise, is this! Upon the earth this fact is not yet known, but in the spiritual world all know it. You must know the precious value of this True Children's Day and greet this day.
Father, we entrust everything of ours before Thee. We have come to know well that all that holds joy and sorrow must be taken responsibility for by the children upon the earth. Grant us, we earnestly hope, to know that this day, on which the historic and enormous True Children's Day has taken root and set out upon this earth, is a day for which human beings must give thanks for all ages and commemorate it forever and ever.
Since the many children gathered here have gathered to celebrate this day, on this meaningful day, grant blessing, we earnestly hope, that it may become a day on which glory is offered before Heaven and all people can praise, a day that can be offered before the Father.
Entrusting the whole of today and earnestly asking that, wherever we go and wherever we stay, everything Thou purposest may be achieved, we have prayed, upholding all these words in the holy name of the True Parents. Amen.
