The Pitiable Laborers of Restoration

Korea, Former Headquarters Church.

Matthew 25:29-46

Today I will speak with the title “The Pitiable Laborers of Restoration.”

To Become a Nation God Can Choose

This time the regional leaders in the provinces gathered at Cheongpyeong and held a workshop for several days. During that period I spoke, centered on the problem that, in upholding the purpose of the providence of Restoration, in these Last Days when one can face God’s final providence—in other words, God’s purpose—one must fulfill one’s responsibility, whether as a people if a people, as a denomination if a denomination, or as an individual if an individual; and now you too must know this content.

What our Principle teaches is the content up to Jesus. Jesus came to restore upon this earth what Adam’s family lost by falling, but, failing to achieve that purpose fully, has, only in the standpoint of a spiritual parent, been widening the worldwide foundation of Restoration for two thousand years until now.

So, unless in these last days one gathers this up again centered on spirit and flesh, one cannot return to the original world. That is, one cannot build the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. We know that the thought of the Second Advent remains to achieve this purpose.

Then if one asks a Unification believer, “Which nation is the nation that can face God’s purpose worldwide?” he will answer, “Ah, that nation is Korea.” Not only you, but anyone who has had even a little experience of the spiritual world is receiving the revelation that Korea will hereafter become the new Jerusalem and the faith-homeland of the world. But they do not know how that world of faith will unfold and through what content and what lineage of bonds it will be achieved.

Considered from this standpoint, to think that Korea can become the nation God chose and the Korean people can become the chosen people cannot but be an exceedingly joyful thing for the Korean people. It cannot but be gospel indeed, I say.

But that Korea is a worldwide Israel, the third Israel people chosen before God’s purpose surpassing the countless peoples of the world, does not just come about as it is. Because there is a principle called restoration through indemnity, you must know the fact that, without a foundation on which the various accounts have been indemnified in accordance with that principle, one cannot receive the blessing of Korea.

The fall broke out through Adam and Eve. That Adam was governed by Eve is the fall. And that Eve herself was governed by the archangel is the fall. Thus the individual Eve was governed by the angel, and the individual Adam was governed by Eve. To indemnify and restore this, one must without fail unfold such an individual history nationally or worldwide and settle it. Otherwise, one cannot pass over it.

From this perspective, for Korea to be chosen before God, representing all the nations of the world, one must indemnify, centered on nation versus nation, an indemnity condition based on the course by which Adam and Eve fell. One must, without fail, pass through such a process.

God’s Work for the Restoration of Eden

You know well that in Asia during the Second World War the Satan-side Eve nation was Japan. Then why was Korea ruled by that Japan for forty years? Seen from the standpoint of the Principle, it is because there is a historic mission, in the last days, to indemnify and restore Eve’s having governed Adam.

When Eve, who fell and stood on Satan’s side, governed Adam, what happened?

Heaven and earth were overturned. That is why, even if considered centered on a single nation, if Korea only ends up being ruled by the Eve nation Japan, it perishes.

After being governed, what must be done?

Korea must advance from the standpoint of being ruled to a place where, in reverse, it can rule Japan. Otherwise, there is no Restoration.

Just as the fallen Eve ruled Adam, so too, at the national level, without a time when the Satan-side Eve nation rules the Heaven-side Adam nation, restoration through indemnity does not come about, I say. That is why, however much Korea was ruled by Japan, there must, centered on the Liberation, without fail, be a history of appearing here with the authority of an Adam-like subject.

What kind of history that history is—it is precisely a spiritual history. Groups that carry on such a history must without fail appear. That is, spiritual companies must form groups and prepare, I say. Around the time of the Liberation, those laborers who received God’s special choosing—that is, who would carry out Heaven’s mission of Restoration—went, under the oppression of the Japanese colonial period, into the plains of Manchuria or deep into the mountains and, unknown to others, formed a close relation with God. There were many such hidden laborers, I say. Thus, a spiritual organizational movement unknown to others came connected from the north to the south.

The many people who carried on such a history openly announced within their groups that Japan would perish. They even received revelation of the very day and hour of its perishing. So at that time the majority of spiritual people knew, as common knowledge, that Japan would perish centered on August 15, 1945.

Accordingly, they said, “Japan will without fail perish, so endure to the end and pass over. Do not submit to Satan; keep your fidelity. Unless you tread over a foundation of victory here, you cannot greet the Lord who comes.” That is why many people knew that the Lord would come together with Korea’s Liberation.

There were many groups that, having received the revelation that the Lord would come to this earth together with Korea’s greeting Liberation, made preparation, I say.

But even when Liberation came, whether the Lord they were seeking had come or not was unknown. That is why the pitiable laborers who bore the mission of Restoration, however much they prepared and put in devotion for a lifetime, or for decades, could, with one slip, lose the Lord, I say. Thus, until Korea was liberated, God worked behind the scenes.

When one comes to think of this, what is the history of Restoration for restoring? It is the restoration of Eden. That is why human beings had to walk the course of the restoration of Eden; and to restore Eden, what must be done? One must pass through the course opposite to the one by which Adam and Eve fell. Therefore, centered on these people, spiritual groups must work, I say.

Then how must one carry on the history?

To restore Eden, one must indemnify and restore the history Adam and Eve committed. Korea is now divided into north and south, but it must carry on such a history. Centered on 1945, around twenty years before and after—seen by our Principle too, centered on around twenty years before and after—and going further, forty years before, when Korea underwent Japan’s oppression, Christianity too, undergoing oppression and entering within the sphere of the providential work, made a leaping development. It becomes so, I say. Because Adam was governed by Eve, Adam perished, but from the time of being governed, the Heaven side develops again.

I do not know whether there is anyone among you who knows it, but right after the Liberation, there was a memorial worship for the fortieth anniversary of the descent of the Holy Spirit. Those who attended that memorial worship then will know. The time that worship was held was right after the Liberation. Seeing this, one sees that, based on a forty-year history, God, at the same time as this nation and this people were ruled by Japan, radically developed a new movement. That Korea made a leaping development unlike any national ideology, and unlike anything in the history of Christian mission until now, was also accomplished by such a providence of Restoration. Though Korea was a Korea oppressed by the evil nation Japan, because there was a providential purpose by which it could hereafter hold the privilege of Adam, and further the authority of God and stand prepared against Japan, it came to have a leaping revival even within the oppressed foundation. Christianity developed during that period.

The History of Restoration Through Kim Seong-do and Her Family

Then, as to when the golden age of Christianity was, it was the 1930s. Passing beyond the 1920s and greeting the 1930s, it entered its highest golden age. At that time, in carrying on the history of Restoration, a masculine history and a feminine history had to be carried on upon this Korean soil.

You will know well the old woman Kim Seong-do of Cheolsan. This Kim Seong-do is precisely the mother of Jeong Seok-on. Has the elder Jeong Seok-on come? “Yes.” That Kim Seong-do is the representative woman who opened the gate (開門) in carrying out the Eve-type mission in Korea—that is, the mission of Korea’s restoration. That woman was set so that she must not follow the ordinary lineage, marry, and form a family. It is without a doubt set so. That is why Jeong Seok-on must have two mothers. Right? “Yes.” Because He works providence by separating, unless one follows such a bloodline, one cannot restore.

If there are two strands, one is Heaven’s side, and one is Satan’s side. To keep them from fighting centered on one, He works by dividing them, I say.

Do you understand what I mean?

Such a history must without fail be carried on, centered on a specific woman. When the woman carries on such a history, her husband opposes with all his strength, I say. Why is that? Because the principle of indemnity is so. Because she is originally a woman who was governed on Satan’s side and comes to stand on the standpoint of being taken away to Heaven’s side, he opposes fiercely, I say. In the end, he even holds a knife to her throat. Was it so, or not? “It was so.” It must be so, I say.

Without doing so, there is no Restoration. Colliding with a miserable fate that an ordinary woman could not overcome, she must set up a fidelity by heavenly mandate.

In other words, from the standpoint of a new daughter God chose, in place of the women of the historic age, she must give her full fidelity and loyalty. And thus she must receive the acknowledgment that God alone can love her. She must have gone such a road of hardship for more than twenty years.

If she fails to fulfill this responsibility, she must pass through twenty-one years, and if she fails to fulfill the responsibility even after passing through twenty-one years, she is broken off.

Rivers mostly flow down from east to west; they do not flow from west to east.

Something like the Tuman River is an exception, but most rivers flow from east to west. In the land of Korea, after 1920 and around 1930, such a history broke out. From then on, one must settle here. (He writes on the board.)

Here is Wonsan. You will not know well the detailed content of what happened in Wonsan. But because the Teacher is in a standpoint of having to set this up as a condition of Restoration centered on the foundation of the spiritual providential history, he has come with considerable interest in this field.

What history had to break out in this Wonsan?

Because Wonsan is in the east, a man—a male spiritual group carrying on the Eden-restoration movement—had to come out. And because Cheolsan is in the west, who had to come out? A woman—a female spiritual group carrying on the Eden-restoration movement—had to come out. And here, centered on South Korea and North Korea too, such historic content had to break out.

God let our Korean people undergo tremendous oppression under the tyranny of the Japanese colonial period. Preparing against such an environment, Christianity became the center and carried on resistance. In consequence, Christianity made a radical development.

Then who was the responsible person of Cheolsan?

You must know that responsible person. It is the old woman Kim Seong-do. That old woman’s daughter has come out here, and her face resembles that old woman’s very much. And that old woman, Kim Seong-do, had to have sons. She had to have at least two sons or more. Centered on this family, the indemnity history of Cain and Abel that Adam’s family lost in the Garden of Eden is carried out. You will not know such things in detail, but because there is such a providence, there had to be two sons. Well, are there sons? How many? “Two.”

They become the firstborn and the second son. Then what is it that this old woman Kim Seong-do had to do? There was a father, right? “Yes.” That father—Kim Seong-do’s husband—opposes the death, I say. He opposes fiercely. Here, amid such opposition, what is the responsibility this old woman Kim Seong-do had to fulfill? She must completely occupy the opposition. She must without fail occupy it.

By the cooperation of mother and son, the younger son agrees. But the eldest son becomes a problem. If the eldest son opposes, it is a problem. Although by blood relation he is on Satan’s side, he must try to stand from the standpoint of siding with the father. And this firstborn must absolutely obey his mother.

In Eden, had Cain submitted at the same time as centered on Abel, becoming one with the mother, and the parents becoming one, it would have been accomplished; but because that was not done, heaven and earth were thrown into disorder. Here too, if only this family becomes one, it receives infinite blessing. That is why I say, only become one. This man must be subjugated by the woman. Why? Because in the Garden of Eden Eve governed Adam, in the course of this history of the providence of Restoration that old man must follow his wife.

If he only grasps the hem of his wife’s skirt and just does as he is told, this receives the blessing of heaven and earth. The principle of restoration through indemnity is set to be so.

Kim Seong-do and Baek Nam-ju, Who Failed Their Mission

But that old man opposed. In this opposition, the overall content of the struggle of good and evil is revealed. Because that old man excessively opposed Heaven, he could not go the road of a normal death upon this earth. It was said he became half-paralyzed, right? “Yes.” It was said he died from taking medicine, right? “Yes.” It becomes so.

If here that son and his brother had become completely one with the mother and attended to the mother, they would have set up a standard by which, connecting the generations of that family, they could make preparation to greet the Lord who comes. But here, as to who failed to fulfill responsibility, it was Elder Jeong, the father of Jeong Su-won, who failed to fulfill responsibility. This old man, Elder Jeong, failed to fulfill his responsibility. As to the content of how he failed, I cannot tell you in detail. In any case, he failed. Because of that, what work must that family do? They must carry on a re-indemnity history centered on the mother and father, I say. To carry on the re-indemnity history centered on the mother and father, Jeong Su-won’s mother would have believed well. Did she believe well? “Yes.” She had to believe well. In carrying on this re-indemnity history too, if the husband only absolutely obeys as the wife directs and even makes a show of dying if told to die, that family receives blessing.

But, with the heart of becoming one, what becomes the greatest problem is the problem of setting apart in sanctity. One must set apart for more than seven years. But did he say, “I do not care about it,” or not? So he was caught. Here, if one fails to fulfill responsibility, not only the wife herself who received the command but also the husband himself is caught by the heavenly law. That Jeong Su-won’s mother died is also considered her having died all because of that. At what age did she die? “She died at about sixty-two.” That is why Elder Jeong must thoroughly repent of the past that could not but be so and pass over it.

You must know that thus the heavenly law has no forgiveness. These words are not words the Teacher made up. It is set so that the law of the Principle cannot but be so.

Heaven, centered on Cheolsan, cultivated such a foundation and carried on preparation. Here, though it does not teach in detail how the restoration of Eden goes and how Eve fell, the spiritual world teaches the outline of that content in general. At the same time as such a history broke out in the west, in Wonsan in the east the history of the male side is carried on.

You will not know it well, but as to who carried on the history then, they are the people defined today as heretics in Korean Christianity. As to who the representative of such people is, it is Baek Nam-ju. From him a spiritual history breaks out. And thus the people centered on him go seeking Kim Seong-do of Cheolsan. Just as the Lord comes to this earth, they had to go seeking, all of them, from Wonsan to Cheolsan, even barefoot. And thus they had to become one.

In carrying out such work, that man Baek Nam-ju’s merit was great. That, even from the standpoint of undergoing the oppression of the Japanese colonial period, the Seongju order (성주교단) could register with the Japanese Government-General of Korea and cultivate a religious foundation was the merit of that man Baek Nam-ju. In other words, a woman alone will not do.

In the satanic world, a woman cannot fight alone, centered on the nation. Without fail, by a man and her, the two joining and carrying out a joint operation, a single foundation must be achieved. Baek Nam-ju did such work, right? He did. But here they had to become completely one, and they failed to. This man Baek Nam-ju, too, through revelation of the spiritual world, knew that Korea would hereafter become a nation that could, in a certain age, uphold God’s special providential work, but he did not know the content of how and how it would come about. He should have gone seeking Cheolsan and, becoming one with that side, whether in life or death, discussed and gone forward; but, failing to fulfill that mission, they were divided.

And thus a problem broke out in the first-generation (第一代的) foundation of the providence of Restoration.

So this mission was transferred. Because God’s purpose of seeking to cultivate a foundation centered on the pioneer’s foundation, representing the woman Kim Seong-do of Cheolsan, was not achieved, in the first generation the purpose could not be resolved, and it came to pass over to the second generation. (See the diagram.)

Lee Yong-do, Who Inherited Baek Nam-ju’s Mission

So the west passes over to Heo Ho-bin and the east passes over to Pastor Lee Yong-do. Baek Nam-ju is an Adam type. Completely split in two, he failed to stand on any one side. Becoming both of the spiritual-history side and of the truth side, he came out without conclusively deciding that this was entirely God’s purpose, I say.

Swedenborg and those who carry on a spiritual history in Korea are all a branch of these people. Because these people failed to fulfill their responsibility, Pastor Lee Yong-do comes out, and he is of a somewhat different faction from Heo Ho-bin. Originally they had to unite. But once they united, they were divided. And thus, what did Pastor Lee Yong-do make? He came out having made the Jesus Church.

Pastor Lee Ho-bin, who was the principal of the Central Theological Seminary, and Pastor Park Jae-bong are people who set Korean Christianity ablaze. In the 1930s, Pastor Lee Yong-do came to Korea with a truly Elijah-like fire. When this man lectured, he poured out Heaven’s grace like water being poured, immersing giant crowds in the work of Heaven.

Why did he pour out grace like poured water?

Because, just as Israel and Judaism had to become one and refute Rome, in Korea too there remained a fight in which Christianity had to carry Korea entirely on its back and pass over, repel the opposing Japan, and set up the authority of Heaven.

Heaven, giving him a powerful fire, sought a road by which all of Christianity could become one. And thus, had all of Christianity only become completely one, it absolutely would not have worshiped at the Shinto shrines.

In the last days, an event in which Japan, to subjugate them even by force, thrusts guns and swords at them without fail breaks out, I say. To pass over such a time smoothly, Christianity had to become completely one nationwide, centered on this flame. Had they all united in one accord and stood opposing Japan, Japan would have been unable to thrust guns and swords. Why? Because they would stand in a position able to assert the authority of Adam.

But how did it come about here?

They opposed the people who had come bearing such a special mission. As to who the representative of that opposition is, it is Kim In-seo. Perhaps there may be someone here who knows him. This man has died, but this man rose in opposition to Pastor Lee Yong-do with his pen. He carried out a nationwide agitation. Though Heaven sent a messenger seeking to unify the whole nation’s Christianity, he did such a thing. Of course, executives of Christianity took part in it.

What was the work Pastor Lee Yong-do had to do, coming to this earth?

Pastor Lee Yong-do is of the second generation. He stood in an important standpoint of having to decide the problem of victory or failure in this second generation. Korean Christians all at once welcomed Pastor Lee Yong-do, who bore such a mission.

When Pastor Lee Yong-do went to a church and held a revival, all the members of that church received grace. They came to look down on their church’s pastor and push him to the back. Because it came to this, growing indignant, they began to raise a banner of revolt and oppose Pastor Lee Yong-do. And thus Pastor Lee Yong-do, who set out centered on Pyongyang and carried on the New Jesus movement, died in 1933. As to what his age was then, it was thirty-three years. It is the same as Jesus’ age. That he, despite his young age of thirty-three, raised a sensational wind in Korean church circles is a fact utterly impossible except by the work of God.

The interesting fact here is that, when spiritual people who came to this earth bearing responsibility come and go, there are people who pray for them. Pastor Lee Yong-do died alone and lonely in Wonsan, but at the moment of his passing, the people God chose, transcending far distances, offered a special prayer before Heaven.

The Christians of the world may have danced for gladness, but there are many who, for three days after he died, wore white clothes and offered mourning, I say.

The Old Woman Who Prayed at Lee Yong-do’s Passing

When the Teacher was staying in Pyongyang, there was an old woman who came seeking me. At that time the Teacher was twenty-seven, and that old woman was seventy-two. She was an old woman who had received grace from the time of Pastor Gil Seon-ju, passing through Pastor Lee Yong-do, and she carried on a tremendous work. She carried on many miraculous works not found in the world.

This old woman carried on the Moranbong prayer centered on Pyongyang. At that time Moranbong was so thick with acacia trees that it was in a state where a person could not possibly pass through. She had received the revelation that hereafter Japan would without fail have a performance of seeking, centered on Korea, to completely sweep away this Christianity, so she must prepare for that time.

This must be prepared with a woman at the center. So she is the old woman who pioneered the Moranbong prayer.

As to when that old woman prayed, she prayed without fail at two or three o’clock at night. But that old woman’s husband opposed for dear life. That opposition was tremendous, I say. One must receive such opposition. But that old woman, repelling all opposition, carried on prayer for many years. Receiving grace there, she carried on many great works.

Whatever sick person she laid a hand on sprang right up. And she knew all about a person even a thousand ri away.

If it was so-and-so in Japan, she knew all were sitting still, and when she went out into the street, even without seeing the face of a passing person, she would look into those people’s minds, I say. Not only that; she found out entirely what someone did in what month, on what day, at what hour. Tremendous works broke out.

From Eulmildae to Moranbong is more than one kilometer. She went there without missing a single day, and when snow fell, as a woman’s body, she could not possibly pick her way along the snowy road, I say. At such times, when she climbed to Eulmildae, God said, “Close your eyes,” and carried her through the air from Eulmildae to Moranbong—she carried on such a dreamlike work, I say.

That is why this old woman knew that Korea would become a chosen nation, and she taught the women in Pyongyang all about how the world would hereafter become thus and so and how a time of joyful fortune would come to Korea.

This old woman was one who, knowing that Pastor Lee Yong-do was in the standpoint of the Lord at the Second Advent, followed Pastor Lee Yong-do. That old woman was in Pyongyang at the hour Pastor Lee Yong-do passed, and Heaven said to her, “When Pastor Lee Yong-do passes, put on sackcloth and pray for him.”

You must know that, because there was such a person who prayed so, the purpose of God’s work could remain. Do you understand?

It will not do to come alone, be pushed around and driven off, and die alone.

You must know that, because there was such a woman who could, upon the earth, make her own life the offering and pray in a partner’s standpoint for God, the foundation of God’s providence of Restoration could remain upon this earth.

God carried on such a work while we did not know. Transcending distance, He made it known and had her pray for Pastor Lee Yong-do for three days from the time of his passing.

The Old Woman Who Bestowed the Grace of Healing

Let me tell one special story about this old woman. When the Teacher went to Pyongyang, who witnessed to that old woman? Was it Ji Seung-do? Was it so? As Ji Seung-do was coming to church, in front of that old woman’s house, his feet stuck to the ground, and, receiving from Heaven the revelation, “In this house there is a special daughter Heaven has chosen, so go in and witness,” he witnessed. That was the time when the Teacher was carrying on the work in Pyongyang.

So when the Teacher spoke, she knew at once. Because she had received grace, she knew at once. Coming to the Teacher, she told in detail the story of what she had gone through until then, the secret story of Heaven, the story she could not tell to anyone.

If one tells such a story to another person, who would listen, calling one a lunatic?

So, meeting the Teacher, she told it all. Because the Teacher knew it all, I asked her to tell it all. So I listened to all of that story. Having listened, I found she had carried on such a splendid work.

I cannot tell all of such stories, so I will tell only one special story. As this old woman carried on the work of grace and countless sick people were healed at the mere touch of her hand, that rumor spread not only in Pyongyang but throughout the whole nation. It came to such a situation that she could not attend to other business for tending the sick every day. When this old woman looked at a sick person and prayed and said, “You are healed,” he was healed. As such tremendous works broke out, the rumor spread through the neighboring village and, of course, nationwide. So not only the sick but even their parents earnestly wished to meet this old woman.

But the only son of three generations in the next village had contracted consumption and was placed in a fate racing against time, wondering whether today or tomorrow.

Moreover, his grandmother was also a widow, and his mother was also a widow. The three of them had lived believing in that one son alone, and, as he gasped at the point of death, how appalling it was.

Until then they had used everything they had and did not have to save that only son, but still, if there were a road to save that son, they wished to put in devotion, sparing nothing.

So, from some time on, that mother and grandmother came seeking and asked her to pray for their son or grandson, but God said absolutely not to pray for them.

Seeing such a thing, one might say, does God pray for some and not for others?—but it is not so.

Such people have a special mission, I say. People whose ancestors are good or the like must be offered to God as an offering of national indemnity—for them one must not pray, I say.

That old woman did not know. When she prayed to Heaven, He said absolutely not to pray. Since they lived in the same village, the parents came and begged.

Then, as that son came almost to death, in the end the mother and grandmother came and wailed. They wailed, saying, Since it is your responsibility to pray when we are placed in such a pitiable situation, why, while doing the good of healing the diseases of countless people, do you not pray for our son?

So, in human feeling, was it not appalling? So, of necessity, she prayed a decisive prayer before God. She prayed earnestly, “Since God is a God of love, is it not natural that I have a heart of sympathy for such a son?

If the almighty God has a road by which the son’s life can be prolonged, I will do anything, so please heal him.” When she prayed such a decisive prayer, God’s word of inquiry was, “If you so wish, I will grant what you wish, but in exchange, will it be all right if I do as I please?” What a glad word that is. So, without realizing it, she answered, “Of course, of course.” Then He said to put in devotion for one hundred days from then.

Why she had to put in that devotion is that, in the principle of restoration through indemnity, that person would have to carry out the mission of a national offering upon this earth, and it was to set up that foundation.

You may not understand, not knowing well the content of restoration through indemnity, but in any case, one must put in devotion.

Saving Another’s Son by Making Her Own Son the Offering

So she came to do the Moranbong hundred-day prayer, and in front of Eulmildae—that is, on the bank of the Taedong River, across from Neungnado—there is a temple called Yongmunsa. Between two and three o’clock in the morning, when human traffic was cut off, alone, as a woman’s body, she went to that Yongmunsa and prayed and put in devotion for one hundred days. No one knew that fact.

When she went up to pray, whatever person she met, she was not to greet, and even if she met her son or her old man, she was absolutely not to acknowledge them. She was to put in devotion for one hundred days. Beginning to put in devotion, ninety-nine days passed, and yet there was no word at all.

Not only that; even as she prayed at two o’clock on the hundredth day, there was no word whatsoever. How appalling it must have been. It was clear those people would resent God…. But God works centered on the new morning, around when the sun rises.

For a new thing to break out, it is accomplished together with the bright sunlight, I say. It appears that the old woman knew this. That she thought a day begins only when the sun rises was very well thought.

So she prayed until the dawn had all passed and the sun rose. So, around when the sun rose, a command came down.

What command?

Having received the command that, whenever she prayed, she was always to set out fresh well-water drawn at dawn, and having done so for one hundred days, the command came down: Look at the water you have drawn and set it out. And it said: it will be boiling, so take that boiling water and go straight to the patient; on the way, whoever you meet, do not greet, and go centered on one purpose alone; and when you arrive at that house, even if the mother and grandmother greet you, do not answer, but go in, and if you make the young man drink that water, he will be healed, so do so. How glad she must have been.

When she came to think that, by putting in devotion for one hundred days, she was resurrecting a dying life before God, since her purpose was being fulfilled, how glad she must have been. So she went to that house like a shot arrow, and since she must not speak, she knocked on the gate.

Then would not the mother come out and ask who it was at dawn?

However she asked, she got no answer, but because she knocked on the gate so gravely, that mother opened the door, they say. And looking, there stood the old woman who had been entrusted with the son’s illness. “Aigo, how did it turn out?” she said. Still, that old woman, taking no notice, went into the room, and when she made that son who lay on the sickbed drink the water, he was healed on the spot.

When it came to this, a happy event arose in that household. Where would there be such a happy event? So how these three of the household clung to that old woman and shed tears of thanks, I do not know. When morning came, and this old woman tried to go home, would they let her just go? They absolutely would not let her go. They said to hold a feast at their house and then return.

So they made rice cakes, killed a chicken, and held a feast. Having been given that to eat, she returned to her house past two in the afternoon. When she entered the house, it seemed her son had come home early from some business.

Having come in first, he asked why she was coming home so late today. Because at other times she would return before five in the morning. So, saying she was late because there was some business, she went into the inner room, and that son too went into the upper room, and no sooner had he gone in than the son, saying his stomach hurt, lay down, and a few hours later he died, they say. She came to know that, in place of that only son of three generations, her son was made the offering, and that son was saved.

Coming to Her Senses After Meeting Her Son in the Spiritual World

When things came to this, how appalling it must have been. And who would have known that God would do this?

The word she answered when He said, “You will not resent it even if I do as I please,” was a word within a word (言中有言). That is, that word was: if you love that patient so, do you have a heart of love able to save that patient even by exchanging him for your son? So He took away her own eldest son, they say.

When it came to this, how appalling it must have been for this old woman. Her mind was utterly dazed. She lamented, “Truly, God is heartless in this world….

Having made me testify to God’s name before countless people and reveal it, and never failing to fulfill what I wished, now He takes away my eldest son—how can that be? There are the sons of countless people, so why, of all things, do You take away my son?”—but she came to know that all those facts were her responsibility.

From then on her mind became strange, and she wandered about anywhere. It was so for nearly half a year, they say. Having been respected until then as a spiritual woman, because she wandered about mad, a rumor arose in the city of Pyongyang.

In Pyongyang there is a crossroads called Seomun-bak, and this old woman, steeped in bitter resentment, her mind turned, wandered about muttering. Then one day, in broad daylight around two in the afternoon, as she was passing that Seomun-bak crossroads, out of nowhere her dead son appeared and said, they say, “Mother! Where are you going? You cannot go to Seomun-bak.”

Since it was because of that son that she went about so, when suddenly that son appeared, this old woman, wondering whether it was a dream or waking, came to her senses in that instant, they say. So she had a conversation with her son.

What conversation?

The Teacher, lacking time, cannot tell all of that content. As for what he said, the son says, “Mother, why do you torment me?” And he says, what is this state you are in? He says he never knew that his once-great mother would become such a small-minded mother. And he casts her off from on high. He says that in the heavenly world he is at the point of death because of his mother.

As his explanation of why he is at the point of death, he says, “Even had I, upon this earth, as my mother’s son and as the eldest son of such-and-such a house, become a loyal subject who burned up my whole body and mind and gave full devotion before God, I could not have gone to a better place than where I am now.

As to what kind of place I am in—I am in a place better than the sum of the place I could go, by the devotion I put in while alive, receiving from God the acknowledgment of being a man of merit, plus the place to which that man who was ill and lived can go by putting in devotion upon this earth.”

You understand what that means, right?

He is in a place better than the sum of the Kingdom of Heaven he himself could go to by putting in devotion, plus the place the man who was healed because of him would have to go, becoming a man of Heaven’s merit by putting in devotion upon this earth.

But because this mother has become an utter blank, knowing nothing, he says, he cannot save face before the countless spirit individuals of the heavenly world. He says, How can Mother love me any more than this?

Had I become a loyal subject before God only in the position of being mother’s son, there would have been no help for it. But because there is the merit of mothers having put in devotion with that broad heart, even though that only son of three generations and my life were exchanged, by this a gate of blessing is opened in which a thousand-year fortune can dwell for myself and for our house.

Despite that, if Mother goes about so, a great calamity will come upon our house—so he said. When the mother was thus scolded by her son, would she come to her senses or not? Saying, “Aigo, my head—I did wrong,” she prostrated there and, saying, “God loves me. With a heart of love beyond what I know, He has done such a thing to our family,” she prayed a prayer of thanks with tears, and her senses returned, they say.

Heo Ho-bin, Who Was Called

This old woman met the Teacher and reported all such content. When one sees such facts, you must know that such people, though colliding with harsh adversity, carried out the mission of pioneers of Restoration. Do you understand? “Yes.” Compared to their devotion, you are no more than idlers.

Now the Unification Church crowd is all a shabby lot, I say. When such people, who came as messengers of God, were placed in a fate of death, they had their sons and daughters take part, just like family members, in the same place of fate.

When one sees the fact that, thus transcending time and space, transcending that distance between Wonsan and Pyongyang, He enabled them to offer prayer and put in devotion for their dying brother, you must know that in it there is the hidden purpose of the providence by which God would not forsake this nation and this people. Do you understand? “Yes.”

Here, carrying on such a history, one had to transfer a new flame to Korea’s Christianity, centered on the New Jesus Church. And thus, if they became one with each other, Cain and Abel are restored.

If the newly emerged New Jesus Church becomes Abel, and the Christianity up to now becomes Cain, and this Cain stands in a standpoint of submitting before Abel, from then on, blessing comes to the land of Korea.

God, centered on Christianity, sought to set up in the land of Korea a denomination like Judaism before the Israelite people who were to greet Jesus, and, centered on that denomination, to teach in detail. And thus, though Christianity should have cultivated such a foundation and prepared a foundation on which it could become a complete footing before God, because of opposition, it has been divided until now. As they came to be divided, the Japanese, just like the Roman Empire, drove such people. Driven from the church, driven from the village, wherever they went, they were driven as people to be watched (要注意人物).

In the end, unable even to hold meetings, unable to meet their family members, they vanished like the night dew on a lonely sickbed. You must know that there were such companies.

But because there were housewives who upheld that purpose and put in devotion unknown to others, the generations of the providence were carried on. In such a course of providential history, if it is not achieved centered on the first woman, it is carried on centered on a second woman.

When it comes to that, the husband of that second woman too opposes, I say. But the husband of this Heo Ho-bin did not oppose but came to cooperate, I say. From here, God cultivates the foundation.

Then, centered on this woman called Heo Ho-bin, what history did she carry on?

She made all the inside-and-out preparation to complete today’s history of Restoration, I say. For the Lord to come, together with the liberation of this earth, the han knotted in the heavenly kingdom must be liberated.

Together with the liberation of the earth, the liberation of the spiritual world must break out, I say. Such a history must be carried on, centered on this woman, becoming one with her husband. One must carry out the Garden of Eden, I say. As for what type the husband is, considered a type—because this was not something God blessed—he is the archangel type. The husband is the archangel.

Just as the archangel forcibly ruled Eve, the husband can time and again do so. But in this family, though there was a time when the husband opposed, because he grasped through experience, when he saw the historic facts that came about here, he could not deny it; after knowing that he could not deny it, he absolutely obeyed his wife. He becomes not that woman’s husband but that woman’s servant.

Then what standpoint does that woman come to be in?

She becomes not the fallen Eve of the Garden of Eden but a restored Eve. Because the Eve who was to rule the archangel fell by being ruled by the archangel, she must be restored centered on an earthly substance.

That husband must, before his wife, set up a standard just as if the archangel were completely restored and indemnify it. From such a standpoint, the husband absolutely obeyed, I say.

Seen centered on Adam, because Eve was in the standpoint of a bride, this husband is in the standpoint of the archangel. Seen centered on God’s purpose, this husband is a treacherous subject (奸臣) and an illicit lover (姦夫).

Originally, Adam and Eve are God’s body. God must become their direct father. That is why, seen from a centered standpoint on God, the husband stands in a position just like a treacherous subject. To indemnify and restore this, the husband must do even work that a man upon the earth could not possibly do. To indemnify and restore all the things of the man’s world, which had violated and used women until now, she has him do all sorts of things. She even commands him to run about naked.

What man, listening to his wife’s words, could do such a thing?

But because that husband had something he himself had realized before God, he believed his wife’s words as God’s words and did such things as running about.

Going out even for several months, he did such work until there was a command from his wife to return and thus received indemnity. Thus, they carried on an indemnity history you did not know. And she had him do even such work as a man could not do. But one must pass over all such things, I say.

The Revelation Heo Ho-bin Received

Then what is the work this married couple had to do?

This couple is a type of Joseph and Mary.

So, from the foundation of the han in which Joseph and Mary failed to uphold Jesus, all the han in which John the Baptist failed to uphold him, and the Jewish denomination and the nation of Israel failed to uphold him, are knotted in the heavenly world and knotted in God’s breast, so this must be resolved. One must cultivate such a foundation before the Liberation.

So that woman, in the Japanese colonial period, fought with the Satan-side Eve nation, Japan. The Satan-side Eve nation and the Heaven-side Eve fight.

So the Satan-side Eve nation, Japan, putting guns and swords in front, committed every kind of atrocity to violate the fidelity of this woman, the Heaven-side Eve. In the course of that, this woman greeted the Liberation in prison. It could not but be so. But, not yielding there, she had to see a new start together with the day of Liberation. That is why God teaches all such things.

As for what became of North Korea after it greeted Liberation, the Communist Party came in, and it is under the rule of a communist regime. The Teacher went to Pyongyang in 1946, and it was in 1947 that he met this Heo Ho-bin group. But because this group was said to have committed fraud under the guise of religion, it was detected by the Communist Party’s security office—what would now be called a public-order police station.

What was the content of that “fraud”?

It was that, because Joseph’s family’s failure to uphold Jesus is knotted as han, this han must be resolved. This is a grievous fact in the heavenly world, I say. When a prince of Heaven was born, to be laid in a manger—what kind of thing is this? he says. There was not a single thing prepared, he says.

That the Messiah whom God prepared for four thousand years and sent, the Messiah able to save the Israelite people, the Messiah who came with the authority of the King of kings, was actually born in a manger and finished after doing the miserable work of a carpenter, was steeped, in the whole life of Jesus, as a han that could not be resolved, I say. Unless one indemnifies all of this, one cannot cultivate the road of the Lord who comes again, I say.

That is why it was commanded that, from the very day the Lord who comes again is born until he is thirty-three years old, they prepare clothes he could change into three times a day—morning, noon, and evening.

This group did all that preparation. And it was commanded that they prepare so that, when the Lord comes, he could live better and more gloriously than anyone in the world. This group did all such work. Countless believers offered their property and did it.

Since it came about just as Heaven revealed, the believers could not but follow. It was that, even by selling all their property, they must make preparations to resolve the han knot when Jesus came to this earth. Without cultivating a foundation able to resolve this han, one cannot greet the Lord.

Heaven taught them everything: “The Lord who comes hereafter does not come as a Westerner but comes as a Korean. He comes as a Korean, and his height is such-and-such, and his build is such-and-such.” They prepared a living foundation on which the Lord who comes, upon the foundation on which Jesus’ han was resolved (해원성사), could stand in a more glorious place than anyone in this land of Korea and set out. Thus they had made preparations to greet the Lord who comes, but the communists, who do not know religion, flocked in, and, seeing it, called it fraud under the guise of religion. So they went to prison.

And all this too was taught by revelation. It was that, when one meets the Lord hereafter, one meets him in prison, just as Chunhyang and Yi Doryeong met. That a novel like the Tale of Chunhyang has appeared in Korea is a revelatory showing that, in days to come, this nation and this people could, in the midst of unspeakable trials, greet a single foundation of hope.

Thus, teaching the fact that the Lord who comes again is met in prison, it was that, when the leaders all gather in one place, at that time the Lord manifests. It taught everything. And so that incident broke out, and they were all arrested at the Daedong Public Security Office.

Kim Baek-mun, Who Testified to the Teacher

Now I will tell the Teacher’s story.

What must the Teacher do to carry on the history of Restoration?

As for who among those who inherited the third generation centered on Pastor Lee Yong-do is one of them. Kim Baek-mun is the second person who bore the mission of the restoration of Eden centered on the man. This man had risen to the highest place in the life of faith. Knowing that there was God’s purpose in that group, the Teacher went seeking it. That was October 1945, right after the Liberation. This group is a group of the John-the-Baptist type.

Going there, what must be done?

One must carry on the history of restoration through indemnity. Just as John the Baptist blessed Jesus at the Jordan River, one must, without fail, bless. One must carry on such an indemnity history.

Then what did the Teacher do, going to that group, over a period of more than six months? He lived as a servant. Though he knew the purpose fully, to inherit it, he put in devotion that no one else could put in.

You cannot even imagine the tears the Teacher shed then. Stained with an earnest heart you cannot even imagine, there was no day it was dry. Here, one could not, as in the world, scheme and quietly pull a person out. Because the truth is the truth, he had to unearth from within that group the human resources that were there. That is why he lived a wordless servant’s life within that group.

But the Teacher could also have criticized the content of the truth he taught. Even though receiving such things by revelation, if he had only opened his mouth, he could have completely subjugated them; he continued there a life of serving without a single word. Because it came to this, God was together with him. Those people too were people clear in spirit, and Heaven sent down a command to them.

Greeting the Easter of March, centered on his family members, the work of Heaven broke out. A work broke out just as John the Baptist inherited the succession. They put on white clothes and gave a blessing. As for what blessing they gave, it was to give the blessing of King Solomon. Do you understand what I mean?

The Teacher had wished for such a time. After they had blessed the Teacher so, the women who carried on the work of spiritual grace in that group and all the family members received a revelation to follow not Teacher Kim but Teacher Moon. Is that not strange? To follow not Teacher Kim, whom they had devotedly attended until then, but Teacher Moon. At that time the Teacher, without putting himself forward or making excuses, quietly waited. At that time God had prepared everything, front and back. The standard that could be prepared was all complete. But when seven months had passed, he knew that in that group the purpose could not be achieved. Do you understand what I mean? Again, it came to receive the opposition of the established church.

That is why—what was it the Teacher wished for at that time?

A woman who received a mission in that age must not say that she herself is Eve. Eve is Eve even after the fall. Therefore, a woman who says, “I am the wife of Jehovah,” had to come out. Do you understand what I mean? A woman had to come out with the outlandish thing, “I am the wife of Jehovah,” and then, “I am the mother of humankind.” A woman who so testifies of herself had to come out. So the Teacher went about searching where in the three-thousand-ri land a woman was carrying on such a work.

In the course of that, the Teacher knew Pastor Park Jae-bong and Pastor Lee Ho-bin well. He came to test all of those people’s standard of faith. The Teacher knew all about what standard those people were at.

To North Korea, Seeking the One Who Claimed to Be the Wife of Jehovah

But, hearing a rumor, there was said to be a strange old woman in Pyongyang. Since these are spiritual groups, they communicate such facts to one another through and through. News came, and as for what news, it was that that strange old woman says, “I am the wife of Jehovah.”

The people of the world, of course, call that old woman mad. In the established church too, they might have appraised it as her having lost her mind, as her mind being turned to a degree beyond recovery; but the Teacher had wished for such a woman to come out. When he heard that news, how glad he was, I do not know.

And the Teacher, hearing that news, prayed. He prayed, “O Heaven! Centered on the mission of Restoration, since Thou hast prepared the foundation of the law of the heavenly relationship in this three-thousand-ri peninsula, because there remains the problem of resolving what God has cultivated through such women, I will go to Pyongyang.”

So, on June 2, 1946, the Teacher, since he had now determined the road he himself must go, thought—by way also of a last farewell—to set out for Munsan, where at that time Kim Baek-mun had made a monastery and was holding a special assembly. Even so, there is human decency. When a person, having met another, departs, one must at least give the farewell of leaving before going.

At that time, because it was right after the Liberation, buying rice was extremely hard, and the Teacher had at that time bought about a truckload of rice. So, shouldering a knapsack and intending to bring the rice as well by truck, he set out, but on the way, suddenly a heavenly command to go to North Korea came down. So he went to North Korea. Rice and everything, he let it all fly away.

At that time he left behind Sung-jin’s mother and Sung-jin and went. You must know this. Sung-jin’s mother and Sung-jin are not people who ought to have suffered.

Overall, it came to be so because the established church failed to uphold him. That was unavoidable. One must carry on a re-indemnity history. One cannot carry on the history of Restoration while holding one’s own sons and daughters. That is why one carries on the history of Restoration by separating them off from the standpoint of a stranger, a third party. When he went to North Korea, he went resolved to go to prison.

So he found the twelve disciples Jesus lost in prison. As he went, God guided everything. Even when crossing the 38th parallel, a rainbow guided the way ahead. He directly guided the 120-ri road. Receiving such astonishing guidance, he met that old woman in Pyongyang and carried on the history of restoration through indemnity.

To win in the spiritual world, one must first win on earth. It will not do to have won by oneself alone. One must directly confront and win by real power. At that time the Teacher was twenty-six years of age, but he came out having laid out the whole program of the spiritual world. He comes out having laid it out exactly: “This is how one goes the road of Restoration.” He cultivates the foundation up to a certain degree in the spiritual world and advances toward the world of substance. Because it is the history of restoration through indemnity, as for who must first carry on the spiritual work, who must first be restored, it is Eve who must first be restored. That is why the term “I am the wife of Jehovah” had to come out first.

Attending the Family of the Old Woman Who Claimed to Be the Wife of Jehovah

Then, meeting that old woman, what does he do?

He becomes that old woman’s servant. He lived entirely as a servant. Why so? Because the road of the course of restoration through indemnity for countless humankind is all blocked, this road must be opened. To do so, one must, though knowing the exceedingly high standard of glory, and though the standard God blessed is high, pioneer from the very lowest place, the standard of a servant. He did not witness to that old woman. When the Teacher was staying in Pyongyang, everyone followed the Teacher, but the Teacher had to show filial devotion to that old woman beyond even a mother. You must know that, from the standpoint of a servant, undergoing contempt, he pioneered the road of Restoration.

That old woman had ten children, all of them mischief-makers, a very shabby lot unforgivable in the world. Despite that, the Teacher even bowed down to those sons and daughters. Do you understand what I mean? Why so? It is to give such people a road to live. The family members followed and attended the Teacher as if they would Heaven, but those sons and daughters were mere heedless children.

And that old woman too carried on two kinds of work. One day she carried on the work of Heaven, and one day she carried on the work of Satan. Ordinarily one cannot understand this.

When people, wishing to follow and attend the Teacher, brought whatever precious thing, the Teacher would offer it all up before the family members of the old woman’s household. You must know that. That Unification believers today, to restore this people, go to the countryside and care for grandfathers and grandmothers and wipe the noses of babies, is no great matter. As for what degree he did it—he even did all the laundry of that old woman, which even women would not do. Whatever the command, he had to do just as ordered. Why? Because the formula of the course of Restoration is so.

By this, what comes about?

Because the history of restoration through indemnity rose from the standard of a servant, centered on the Teacher himself too, he had to be treated without fail like a servant. That is why, if one puts in devotion in that place of being treated like a servant, Restoration keeps coming about. How exhilarating and interesting this is, I do not know. This period was experimental until the Teacher could lay out exactly, “The Principle is without fail thus.” It was a period of experimenting with whether the facts are so or not. Having done thus, Heaven must without fail give such a blessing.

He carries on blessing restoration from the place of a servant of a servant. When that passes, he becomes the foremost servant among servants. And thus, as he puts in more and more devotion, in the place of an adopted son, they give the blessing of an adopted son. If one has received the inheritance of blessing from a man, one must also receive the inheritance of blessing from a woman.

Otherwise, there is no Restoration. Do you understand? That is why, having received the blessing before the man centered on the Kim Baek-mun group, one must also carry out blessing-restoration before a woman. Otherwise, one cannot inherit all the foundation of the providence that God has cultivated in the land of Korea until now.

Having set up such a standard before the man and being divided off, now one must indemnify and restore before the woman. Because the woman committed the fundamental fall, one must carry out a fundamental restoration.

So women have passed through the road of suffering until now. To open the gate of the servant, open the gate of the adopted son, and open the gate of the son and daughter; they went the road of suffering in the course of the providential history.

Receiving Testimony From the Old Woman He Had Attended

That is why, of course, the road the women went, and also the road the servant went, and the road of the servant of the servant, must all be indemnified and restored. Thus, one carries on the fight of passing through the process of blessing-restoration.

If the Teacher had not accurately known this purpose, he could not have accomplished it thus. And so that old woman testifies that the Teacher is the foremost among adopted sons. It rises so. It keeps rising. Then to what does it rise next? It is that he is Jesus’ younger brother. Then one must bless. It is that Jesus is the elder brother and Teacher Moon is the younger brother. It keeps rising.

If the established-church people here want to leave, leave; the plain truth is so. So this time someone says, “Aigo, Teacher Moon is greater than Jesus.” It is Restoration. At the very end, this old woman testified fully, saying, “Because I am in Eve’s position and the Teacher is in Adam’s position and God’s position, I too must follow...”

Only after that did the Teacher say, “Just as I attended to you, you too attend to me.” Here the governorship is restored. The Teacher, having cultivated the road of Restoration for the governorship that had been inverted through Eve and by which all humankind had been turned upside down, gives the command together with the testimony of that one day.

That is why—for the person who, from the standpoint of a servant of a servant, had done what no one could do and attended him, together with a single word of his testimony, to set up his authority and say, right now, do the servant’s part to me just as I did—it was like a bolt from the blue.

The Teacher, receiving that word of testimony, commanded her to bow down at once. Do you understand? This is the inversion of governorship to restore. Without inverting the governorship, there is no Restoration.

When he gives such a command, if she does not obey that command, all the things of Heaven are taken away to the Teacher, and only Satan’s things remain. But in that instant the old woman’s mind turned. A parting of the ways arose between the heart of doubting and the heart of obeying.

So that old woman, who had been carrying on the work of Heaven, ended up becoming a pitiable laborer of Restoration.

In that instant her mind turned, and she carried on the fight, going in and out of the spiritual world. But because the Teacher had restored Adam’s governorship, Eve was no match in the fight. Cultivating such a foundation, the Unification Church came out. Passing through such a course of Restoration, today’s decades-long history of the Unification Church was achieved. There is no time to tell in detail how the work was carried on behind the scenes, centered on the Principle of Restoration.

Having cultivated such a standard of Restoration, the standard of the inversion of governorship, one must actually go and seek it out. Do you understand? It is to seek even the standard of the servant of humankind. To seek that, one goes even to prison, the lowest place. One opens the gate from prison outward.

The Standard of Victory Set Up Through a Life of Attendance

That the Teacher went to Heungnam prison and came to undergo harsh oppression and abuse under communist rule was also because he bore such a heavenly mandate. In seeking Heaven’s people who could open this prison gate and go out even before Satan’s guns and swords, Heaven let him find them all.

Even without the Teacher speaking directly, the spirit individuals of the spiritual world witnessed and made people follow the Teacher. In a situation where the communists had placed informants in the cells and were collecting intelligence, could one speak?

Though he kept his mouth shut, their ancestors appeared directly and witnessed. And thus the Teacher found in prison disciples greater than the twelve disciples who abandoned Jesus and fled.

When the time came to go out to labor from the prison, even under the severe surveillance of the communists, those people tried to meet the Teacher. As everyone came out into the corridor, bustling, to go to work—of course, guards stood there watching with guns, but since they crawled along the floor where the guard was standing, how would he know?

Guards always go about with their heads up. The people Heaven chose and let him meet tried, even crawling like that, to greet the Teacher first. Even now, when I think of that time, it is unforgettable.

In the prison at that time, one can say that a single spoonful of misʌt-flour was more precious than a whole ox in this society. In such extreme starvation, when the family members brought mist-flour, he would share it out, a spoonful each, for the cellmates to taste. Then, unable to eat that flour just so, they mixed it with water and took it out when going to work. Breakfast was all a fast. Because they inspected when one came out in the morning, if one were caught wrongly, there would be great trouble.

So they wore it at the waist and carried it to their factory. Because the factory was large, at lunchtime they could meet. When the bell rang at lunch, they all met and shared and ate the misʌt-flour cakes.

You will not know that taste. God works so. The Teacher set up an indemnity standard there. In North Korea, he set up the standard of the Four Position Foundation. You must know the fact that, having set up that standard, he came again to South Korea and, carrying on the history of Restoration, undergoing the opposition of the established church and the opposition of the regime, has risen this far.

You must know that the Teacher attended even a little child who could not yet say “papa” or “mama,” bowing down to it. That the Teacher taught you that you must live a life of attendance to obtain salvation is because the Teacher won by passing through such a process. That is why only if you can follow that road once again can you enter the world of the law of the way of attendance (侍義).

You must know that, connecting such a history of Restoration, at the Teacher’s time he indemnified, centered on the whole field.

You must know that the Teacher, though his body is one, has until now given his whole life to gathering entirely what the laborers of the mission of the three ages—that is, the countless saints of the six-thousand-year history—failed at and to cultivating the conditions of victory.

The Starting Base of the Unification Church

Then now let us look centered on Korea. Let us look at Japan and Korea. How does Japan appear as a Satan-side Eve nation? If it is a Satan-side Eve nation, it ought to be punished and perish. I will just speak of this briefly and pass on.

Originally, England is the Eve nation and America the Adam nation. America is originally so. Seen by the Heaven-side national type, England is the Eve-nation type and America the Adam-nation type. In this way, if Korea hereafter stands as a victorious Adam-nation type, America and England become the restored Adam and Eve nations.

Do you understand what I mean?

They must become the restored national type to be passed through from the sinful world.

If Korea becomes the victorious Heaven-side Adam nation, England ought to become the Eve nation, and the restored America ought to become the blessed nation; so how is it that after the Second World War, Japan and Germany received the blessing?

Seeing such a thing, is it not truly strange?

Germany was a Satan-side Adam nation, and Japan was a Satan-side Eve nation. Though they are Heaven’s enemies, you will not know why such nations, over the past twenty-odd years, formed a cultural sphere of the world and became nations that matter in the world. It is because the established church opposed Teacher Moon of the Unification Church.

What is the established church?

It is the central ideological body in democracy. That such an established church opposed is the same as all of democracy opposing. Because it was so, the Unification Church carried on a history of entering the enemy’s world and seizing and finding and coming out. It cultivated the road of Restoration from a road that had nothing to do with anything. Where is the Unification Church’s place of departure? It set out not from the democratic world but from the enemy’s world.

That is why the Teacher set out not centered on the people Heaven had prepared, upon a prepared foundation, but by seizing the children of the opposing enemy and cultivating a foundation. That is why a standard of setting out from the opposing place of the democratic world was cultivated. Because he thus cultivated a road to live from the enemy nation, from where was the road to live opened? The condition is established that it was opened not in the democratic nations America and England but in their opposing nations, Germany and Japan. Do you understand?

So where is the starting base of the Unification Church?

It is not within the sphere of democracy but within the sphere of Satan. The Teacher went to North Korea and cultivated it. The people there came to be able first to attend God and greet God’s glorious foundation. From a standpoint where the nation opposed and the church opposed, he made this sphere centered on companies that did not know religion. In the end, he began not upon a prepared foundation but cultivated the foundation of Restoration from an unprepared foundation. That is why, in God’s choosing of nations, America and England did not become the Adam and Eve nations, and Germany and Japan received the blessing instead.

Now what must be done? America and England must provide the support by which Germany and Japan can revive. That is why, in Asia, Japan and, in Europe, Germany have revived in the past twenty years. Here America cannot but bear the responsibility of reviving the whole economy.

Accordingly, America, having had the key to the blessing-sphere by which it could be restored taken away, stands in the standpoint of a line one step retreated. So you must know that Japan and Germany have stood until now in the place of receiving blessing.

The Framework of Victory Prepared Through a Bloody Struggle

Then let us look centered on Japan and Korea. This Japan is Korea’s enemy nation. The Teacher too was tortured by Japan’s gendarmes and officials. In the past, it was the enemy of enemies, unforgivable. But what is the reason the Teacher cannot treat Japan as an enemy?

It is because he set up in this Korea the central standard of individual restoration, family restoration, tribal restoration, national-people restoration, and national restoration from the enemy’s world. He is placed in a fate in which, from the standard on which he thus cultivated the foundation, he cannot but face the partner world that is from the enemy’s standpoint.

So, to prepare the foundation of Japan’s restoration, ten years ago he secretly sent a missionary. And thus he has been preparing for ten years.

If Japan becomes a communist nation, Korea is like a rat caught in a jar. So the Teacher, to overcome such a national crisis, worked unknown to others for ten years. Now, just as Korea carries on an anti-communist movement, Japan too is in a standpoint of carrying out the responsibility so that its whole political world can enter the line of the anti-communist movement. That is why, though until now the Japanese government opposed the line Korea takes, now it will come to stand in a standpoint of, on the contrary, following. And thus, when there comes to be a foundation, centered on the Adam nation Korea, by which Japan can be completely restored to Heaven’s side in the new ideological field, the world turns.

That is why this time the Blessing too is given to Japan, America, and Germany.

Originally, he went to Japan in 1967 to give the Blessing but could not. So, when he gave the 430-Couple Blessing in 1968, bringing Kuboki as the representative of Japan, he first set up the condition of the Blessing.

First he blessed Japan, then he blessed America. And, centered on Germany, which had been a satanic Adam nation, he stood in a standpoint of being able to lower God’s anchor into the four great nations.

Accordingly, you must know that the whole, representing the nations of the entire world, became a foundation of victory able to set up an indemnity condition. He returned having done this.

Because the eight members of Adam’s family fell, to indemnify and restore that, centered on the Teacher’s family, after the Holy Wedding in 1960, he must exceed the standard of eight family members. It is for that that the Teacher has been praying until now: that there ought to be eight members.

That this time he brought the Mother and returned quickly was because the delivery had to be done in Korea. So the child born is Hyun-jin. Hyun-jin is the sixth. Within the Teacher’s own family, he has completely exceeded the standard of eight members. Inside and out, it fit exactly. And our Sung-jin and Hee-jin, seen centered on the history of Restoration, Sung-jin is an Adam type and Hee-jin a Jesus type. So he went to Japan and had Hee-jin born there. One must go to Japan and return. Unknown to you, the Teacher did all such things. It is a dreamlike fact no one knows.

You must know the fact that, to sort out a history of Restoration that could not be told to anyone, he passed through, behind the scenes, a history of struggle so miserable and bloody that you cannot imagine it.

The Teacher must, in a single generation, completely gather and indemnify Jesus’ han knotted in this land until now, and the foundation cultivated by the prophets who bore a special mission in the course of the providential history even to the point of becoming sacrificial offerings. This must be done with the world at stake, and until now, sorting out such things, he has come to prepare the framework of victory. This means that he has stood in a sphere of glory that is not merely historic but also cosmic-historic.

The False That Appeared Before the True

What standpoint is the Unification Church in Korea?

At the present stage, we are taking responsibility for more than 90 percent of the anti-communist rallies. Of the lectures given in the provinces over the past month, our lecturers did more than 90 percent. The government too does it through the Anti-Communist League, but only to the extent of taking along a surrendered spy and having him tell how the actual conditions in North Korea are. They went around once at the county level, but we went around, of course, to the townships, and even to every hamlet. Moving a nationwide organization, over this past month we have acted, standing at the head.

Now the nation too has entered a stage where it can put us forward. And it is that, except by our Unification Church thought, one cannot present an alternative able to criticize and overcome communism. The nation too has now come to a stage where it can know this. In the ideological aspect, we are ahead. In the religious aspect too, now all the established churches are withering, but the Unification Church is not so.

Centered on such a standard, at this time when the Republic of Korea is placed in crisis, what must be done?

Looking at the actual conditions in North Korea, until now Kim Il-sung has made a Kim Il-sung religion to freeze the residents of North Korea under his command.

How do they call Kim Il-sung? “They call him father.” They call him father, right? They are the worst villains in the communist world. They are greater villains than the Soviet Union, than Communist China. Moreover, in North Korea, one cannot find a single person who believes in Christianity. One cannot see a church even if one tries. This is the worst villain before God.

As for what Kim Il-sung handles the whole populace with, it is “father.” In the Unification Church too, we say “father,” but it came out well, I say. Because it is a principle of heavenly law that, before Heaven’s truth comes, the false must come first and gain the upper hand; before the true came, the false came first.

If one interprets the name of Kim Il-sung too, it means “has achieved the sun.” Right? That is, it means a shining sun has been achieved. Centered on this, in North Korea they say “Father Kim Il-sung.”

Then hereafter, in the democratic world, who will stand against such a communist world? The Unification Church stands against it.

In the Unification Church we say “True Parents,” right? “Yes.” Kim Il-sung says his ancestors are all the masters of history and places them at the very top of Korean history. He says his father did the March First Movement too, does he not? And yet it must be so.

Unless Kim Il-sung does so, in the principle of restoration through indemnity, the Cain-like standard that can be completely resolved is not decided. That is why South Korea is the Abel-like standard. In this South Korea, one came out bearing the name of the Heaven-side father, whereas in North Korea a Satan-side, Cain-like father has appeared.

To Defeat the North Korean Communists

Here, who prepares first?

Cain must prepare first. So in Cain’s world, they took a nation first and struck Abel at will, I say. But today, centered on the Unification Church, from behind the scenes, in a hidden state, it has now risen to this summit, the highest peak. You must know well that it is placed at such a point.

In restoration through indemnity, there must be the two, Cain and Abel. Then, seen centered on the national standard, where is the nation where communism and democracy collide? Where is it? It is Korea. And the place where Cain and Abel stand opposed is Panmunjom. Centered on this Panmunjom, half is Satan’s side and half is God’s side. So it is a place where Satan and God, saying, “Aigo! So-and-so did wrong, so give this to me,” give and take. There is only one such place in this world. God’s providence of Restoration, strangely, fits into this Korea.

Then the problem is how to decide it here. In the Garden of Eden, centered on Adam and Eve, they perished because of the fight between Cain and Abel. So here one must, without fail, unify. One must unify. In unifying, it is not done by admitting Satan. One must expel Kim Il-sung, who is from Satan’s standpoint, and save the compatriots of North Korea, who are in the same standpoint as Cain. The responsibility to do such work remains with us. What must we do here? They, at every opportunity, are fully prepared to invade our South Korea. But we are stark naked, with nothing. For us, there is no other road than the road of offering a sacrifice and being blessed before God.

Then now I will teach you the secret of being able to win. The content of this prayer is also this. We have greeted the second year within the second seven-year course too. It is the time of crossing the second-year ridge. Just at this time it is fitting exactly, worldwide.

Then how must we win?

You must attend God beyond the devotion with which the communists attend Kim Il-sung as father. The communists do it by threat, blackmail, and intimidation and by compulsion, but you, in a free environment, though no one commands and no one is watching, must, putting in all the devotion you have, advance to a place beyond the place where they call Kim Il-sung father and are loyal. Do you understand?

Next, the communists are organizationally made one. Beyond their being uniformly made one, beyond their being strongly bound together by threat, the Unification Church companies, Heaven’s family members, must bind together automatically even though no one commands. We must be stronger than the communists. Do you understand? “Yes.”

First, in attending parents; second, in loving brothers; third, in acting—we must be ahead of them. We must not lose to them. Just as North Korea sends spies down to South Korea, among us Unification believers too, hereafter, if told to go to North Korea, there must be no one who cannot go.

Unless one has the resolve to go to such a place and more, one cannot be a Unification Church family member. We must become Heaven’s sons and daughters, able to surpass them in the field of action.

What is the fall?

It is that, centered on Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel failed to become one. That is why, centered on the Heavenly Parent, one must become completely one. Now the Republic of Korea is the Cain type. So one must first find the Republic of Korea, and next find the land of North Korea. And thus one must become completely one.

From such a standpoint, one must attend to the parents, love the brothers, and love the world. But since we have not yet become one, we must love the people in South Korea like Cain. Putting in devotion, we must love this nation and these people like brothers.

When the Spiritual World and the Earth Become Completely One

In the spiritual standard, the spiritual world corresponds to the angelic world, and what is the angelic world? It is the Cain type. Therefore, seen today, centered on the Unification Church, the spiritual angelic world in the spiritual world is Cain-natured. Because the victory standard of Cain-Abel restoration through indemnity has been set up, the whole spiritual world has entered a time when it can bow its head before the Unification Church. And thus, when the spiritual world and the earth become completely one, Christianity is subjugated. When it comes to this, subjugating the Cain substance is no problem.

Just as the elder brother Esau could not but submit to Jacob, who had subjugated the angel at the ford of the Jabbok, as the whole spiritual world becomes one centered on God, the communist world, which is the Cain-type substantial world, must collapse.

Until now, the Soviet Union and Communist China were one, but because a movement to become one in Heaven has broken out, the communist world splits. Communist China and the Soviet Union must fight. And thus, Communist China and the Soviet Union have been split since 1957.

So, for seven years, such a movement arose. Then, how is it now? The communist worlds are fighting among themselves. As was in the newspaper yesterday too, Communist China and the Soviet Union are trying to fight, mobilizing all their tanks.

Now, as for who is the enemy, North Korea is not the enemy. Because the Soviet Union and Communist China have come to stand in a standpoint of fighting each other, when it comes to whom they will make their fellow worker in the world hereafter, there is only America. Because they each try to draw America to their side, the Soviet Union’s policy is already turning toward a pro-America policy, and Communist China too will go toward a pro-America policy.

Seen from such a standpoint, when the fight breaks out, which nation will America help?

If America should join with the Soviet Union, which is of the same white race, there is a possibility that the North Korean puppet regime, seizing that opportunity, could begin action. We must, putting in devotion, cross over such a ridge. To cross that ridge, you must, centered on this 120-day period, become of one heart.

If we only cultivate a heartistic standard able to surpass the communists, with a heart completely united before Heaven, we can cross this difficult ridge. Therefore, we must cultivate a foundation able to be completely publicly acknowledged before Heaven.

If God took Kim Il-sung away, it would be simple, right?

But to have the Unification Church match that orbit inside and out, He keeps Kim Il-sung alive. Because he nettles and provokes, the Unification Church and Korea draw close. Do you understand? It is a two-front operation by God’s need. Kim Il-sung until now comes out talking big, and, seen from one side only, it is a difficult standpoint, but the more difficult it becomes, the more our Unification Church draws close, little by little.

The Women of the Unification Church, Who Must Strike Down the North Korean People’s Army

From our standpoint, in which the nation must draw close, we must set up a heartistic standard able to match this time and this fortune of the age and become true filial sons, filial daughters, loyal subjects, and faithful women.

If we become such a standard, God will lead the road; we will go straight as an arrow. And thus a time will come when we can stretch out beyond the summit of this world.

If the Republic of Korea were to arm the thirty million people centered on our Unification Church thought, would the communists be a problem? A problem, or not a problem? “It is no problem.”

Hereafter, in the history of the providence of Restoration, however strong the power of the People’s Army may be, the Heaven-side Eves must subjugate them. The Heaven-side Eves must be able to handle and dispose of the whole People’s Army of the communist world.

If you go out to Myeong-dong, women are wearing miniskirts and swaggering about, saying this and that—would there be a woman there who could do this? But even among us, the small company of the Unification Church, there will be young women with the resolve to conquer the People’s Army without a problem. Are there, or not?

Hereafter, what will we do?

In disposing of the People’s Army, we will mobilize the women of the Unification Church. They must go out as female soldiers and dispose of the whole People’s Army and more. That is why a time will come hereafter to make use of the women once. Seen by the Principle, must it be so, or not? Is there, or is there not, a han of Eve’s having been subjugated by Satan in the Garden of Eden? Is there, or not? “There is.” Then one must go and indemnify and restore it. A time comes when one must cross the 38th parallel, go to North Korea, drive tanks, and fire cannons, I say.

So hereafter, one must arm the whole army centered on Unification Church thought. If one only does so, it is like scooping up fish with a net in a drought. In the past, the Satan-side North was twice the South, but today the Heaven-side South becomes twice the North. But here they are failing to do spiritual arming, ideological arming.

So now they keep saying “ideological arming,” “ideological arming.” A time will come when it will be said that, though the thought of being able to give ideological arming was right beside them, they came looking out of the corner of their eye.

We must know that, on Heaven’s side, we have resolved the inner situation and the outer situation and become loyal subjects of this nation and this people and have cultivated a foundation such that, in loving this nation, we would be aggrieved to be called second to any. Knowing that Heaven stands on our side and is preparing and pioneering the road ahead by every means, in this final showdown age, if one was born a man and born a woman, one must step forward.

Now, centered on one day of hope, let us not become a company that, becoming laborers of Restoration as a pitiable people, is buried in the grave without fully achieving that purpose; but, since we have known the purpose, we must be able, passing through the whole hard and han-filled course of Restoration, to make a total march into the enemy’s camp to plant the flag of victory.

If, in such a place, one has stood on the line of attending God as Father and the earth as Mother and resurrecting all people as brothers, how exhilarating and thrilling a thing that is.

If the Teacher had worn a skirt, he could blow away the 38th parallel with the wind of his skirt. That is why the Teacher went to North Korea and returned. The Unification believers must all go to North Korea and return. Must we go and return, or not? “We must go and return.” Though the body is naked now, on the day when, putting on our clothes properly and taking up our posture, we keep step with the nation’s movement and march to the world, we will be able to dispose of the whole People’s Army too. Hereafter we must make use of the People’s Army too.

What we must fight hereafter is the Soviet Communist Party and the Chinese Communist Party. Do you think of such things? The Teacher is praying about how to fight. Without laying a hand on them, we must be able to decide the victory, and, reconciling, to sit Manchuria astride. When Korea hereafter comes to a population of about a hundred million, without the land of Manchuria one cannot settle.

Manchuria is originally our land. So the Teacher is trying to draw in Chiang Kai-shek. He is doing such behind-the-scenes maneuvering.

Centered on certain people in Japan, he is calling in Chiang Kai-shek’s son, a vice-premier, such people, and preparing. You must know that he is now preparing work that even the state cannot do. It is not being done in words only; it is being done now.

Until now, pioneering dreamlike work, he has moved like a cloud blown by the wind, but a time comes when, however strongly the wind blows, it cannot push the cloud away. From now on, our Unification Church must go such a road.

The History Centered on the Laborers of Restoration Under Communist Rule

Now I must conclude. To pioneer the road of Restoration, there have been, until now, countless pitiable laborers of Restoration.

God, while we did not know, worked to come seeking this nation and this people. You, too, do not know the Teacher’s behind-the-scenes history. That is why you cannot but absolutely obey, centered on the Teacher.

The Teacher cultivated the road by which you can receive salvation by living a life of attendance. Because the parent has cultivated such a road, you too must receive such traditional thought and have the devotion able to embrace the people and offer a sacrifice for the whole of humankind.

Upon such devotion, becoming princes and princesses who attend God, you cannot but plant the traditional thought in that family.

The Teacher had to meet in prison such people who carried on this work, people like Heo Ho-bin too. Meeting them, he had to relay the word. So the group relayed and did all the things promised by revelation. Because God had to take responsibility for that woman He had prepared, He had the Teacher go into prison. While he was holding a meeting at Gyeongchang-ri, they arrested him, calling it a religious fraud organization and calling him such a fellow worker. During the confinement from August 11 to November 21, 1946, the Teacher met the leaders of their group, or that woman’s husband and the association head of that group, such people, and taught them where they should go. He told them that if they just stayed here, they would all be massacred, so they should get out of prison by any means.

Among them, representatively, a man called Hwang Won-sun listened to the Teacher’s words, denied everything, and came out of prison. But, having undergone much torture, he died three months after coming out.

Thus, many miserable histories could not be fully expressed in words.

Sometimes, taking time, the Teacher intends to compile such a history, but that is something the Teacher alone knows. As for when the people who, from the Japanese colonial period, prepared to cultivate a foundation for achieving God’s purpose upon this earth were met, one does not know. When the Teacher was in prison, Heo Ho-bin was there together. That is why he could not but relay the word. The Teacher, whatever difficulty there was, had to relay the word.

So he wrote a letter. That was September 18, 1946, and the memory is still vivid. He wrote it with the content: As one young man in a cell, I write to you, so pray for me. Having done so, the Teacher fulfilled his responsibility, but under the communists’ surveillance, it was discovered.

So he was beaten by the communists with a chair leg, and his tooth was cracked. He carried on such a history of struggle.

When God imposes a responsibility, at some time He without fail makes up that responsibility, but people do not know it. So, until now, He has carried on the operation of gathering and connecting all the things of the failed history of all the groups that had prepared. Because it was so, they all perished and fell in the fight with Satan, but the Unification Church, which can inherit and take over this, has come to remain.

Since the people who were thus driven in Korean history and denounced as heretics were all sacrificed, an age when they can be resurrected again must come.

That Teacher Moon of the Unification Church today, this man who has been denounced in public as the ringleader of heretics, can go forth facing you and facing the world because God was together with him.

So a person like the Teacher has come out and is doing the work of resurrecting again.

To What Degree Must One Attend God

Then how much devotion did the Heo Ho-bin group put into attending?

They did things you cannot imagine even in a dream. How much devotion did they put in to fulfill the law of attending Heaven? For that one who comes as a prince of Heaven, as the parent of this history, that one who comes bearing the han of six thousand years—his han, knotted historically because of our fallen posterity—they had to resolve with a foundation of devotion. God, teaching this mission that must be resolved in a single generation, taught everything of attending. That is why, in the houses of the believing people of that group, whenever, at any time, the Lord came seeking, they did the work of waiting, having made ready to serve morning, noon, and evening. The devotion put in there is beyond telling.

And how many bows did they make?

Three thousand times was ordinary, and they made up to seven thousand times, I say. Seven thousand times—do you understand? To bow three thousand times takes five to six hours. To do seven thousand takes close to ten hours, I say. And yet the groups that, beginning from morning or from dawn, without even eating, made seven thousand bows and did the training of attendance, failed to grasp the road they were to go, and all broke apart.

It was a traditional history prepared by Heaven, but it all flowed away. But because that is Heaven’s deep account, hereafter, centered on the heavenly law, in our later generations, we cannot but attend God with such devotion. You must know that such historic facts had been buried.

Because the Teacher himself put in such devotion and went the road of Restoration, you, in preparing this road of Restoration, must pay ten times, a hundred times more of a price than that. Seen from this perspective, your flesh and blood, your cells, and the marrow of your bones must never forget the feeling of attending. And you must always go forward, attending God in such a place. You must know that this is the life the believers of the Unification Church must live.

Seeing such a relation, how many usable people are there among the many Unification believers today?

One must reorganize again. When a little more time passes, countless people prepared in the spiritual world will come in from the world. Well, did the woman who came from the Evangelistic Hall this morning come? Because the time has not yet come, it is not set for just anyone to enter the Unification Church carelessly, but hereafter such people will without fail come in great numbers. A time comes when a person who is in direct communication with the spiritual world for decades will, digging up from your ancestors of hundreds of generations, say, “You are a person who did such and such,” “You cannot enter because you have this defect.” Such a time will without fail come. Before such a time comes, you must listen to the Teacher’s command and quickly make up your indemnity conditions. This is not the Teacher’s blackmail, nor is it intimidation. Such a time will without fail come.

Let me give an example. It was when the Teacher went to Cheongpyeong after Hyun-jin was born. There was a person in communication with the spiritual world who was a believer in Buddhism. He was at a considerable level in the Jogye Order of Buddhism. And this person is one who has been praying for our Unification Church for fourteen years.

If he fails to put in devotion even for a single day, God gives him discipline. He is a person who knows everything, even down to which flight at what hour today the Teacher takes to go to America when the Teacher goes to America. He knows all about the Teacher’s making this whole tour and coming back too. But the Teacher, being busy, quite forgot to relay the word. Still, the thought came that he must make a phone call, and he picked up the receiver, and that person too had picked up the same receiver.

So, however much they tried to talk to each other, it would not connect. Then it connected, and what that person said was, Did the Teacher not return at some point? So when I said yes, he said, This time the Teacher went to America, and on what day did what and did what, right?”—he reports it all. He is that detailed. And he says, This time you returned and toured the whole country, right?

You went to Cheongpyeong to give training and came back, right? And you will go again, right? He sits knowing it all in advance. And he says, This time you had a baby, right? You had a third son—he knows all about what feast broke out in the heavenly world and what is what. That is a story the Teacher too knows all about.

We, Who Stand at the Very Summit of the Providence

Even though the spiritual world knows and the outside people too are testifying, the Unification Church crowd on earth does not know.

If I tell such a story, it seems it would become the Teacher’s boasting, so I will not. But there are truly many people who put in devotion hidden like this. You do not know, but there are many people who are in contact with the Teacher.

If our family members bridged the way and the Teacher told them all to come, there are truly many who would come, I say. There are now a considerable number of such people. When those people flock in, they will overturn even your chamber pot.

The Teacher does not do such things. What prestige would be set up for the Teacher by doing such a thing? People who have all prepared will flock in.

If we could become a people able to set up such people as watchmen and to command and live centered on the world, how good it would be. Do you wish it, or not? “We wish it.” If you wish it, you must become one qualified to wish it. To become qualified, one need only do just as the Teacher says.

However one turns it over and flips it, inside and out, there is the Teacher’s living history that one cannot deny even if one tries. Such things I intend someday to teach you in detail.

However much a person is like wood and stone, if one wrote down what account the Teacher bore when he went into prison, there would be many who would wail. Among the crowds who say they follow such a Teacher, many top idlers dawdle about. This time we reorganize the nationwide organization. Why so?

Until now it was a defensive war. Because we had not yet cultivated a worldwide foundation, we carried on a defensive war. That is why we came out banded together as much as possible. But from now on, because it is an offensive war, everyone must go out.

Many of the people here have gone out, right? So we have divided into some thirty. We have spread the provincial districts to more than fourfold. Doing so, the Teacher directly oversees them. By doing this, now there will be a considerable revival.

Centered on the second seven-year course, if you put in devotion beyond the first seven-year course, God is set to work. And, because the past was an age of indemnity, we indemnified, but the present time is not an age of indemnity but a time to make indemnity.

That is why, in the past, it was a time when it was difficult to reap even if you sowed a hundred times, but now is a time when, if you sow a hundred times, you can reap a hundred times. Thus, all the historic standards are placed at a point where one can pass over the highest devotion, centered on the purpose of the providence.

If you know the historic fact that countless people, beholding this one time, staked their lives and cultivated it, then, if, at this time, being directly ruled by the present living environment, you fail to do what you are told, when you go to the spiritual world, there will be great trouble. You will not even be able to lift your face.

You become a shameful being. That is why even a person like Heo Ho-bin, who had put in devotion and cultivated a foundation for decades, because she came not to listen to the Teacher’s words, was massacred when the communists all retreated. It could not but be so.

You must know that what had been led toward such a purpose, putting in the greatest devotion to sort out Heaven’s purpose of the end and reach the highest standard, miserably fell backward. That is why the Unification Church is the most fearful place. The Teacher too fears this. When facing you, he cannot think of using you conveniently by means and methods. If he did, there would be great trouble.

When you have put in a hundred measures of devotion, the Teacher cannot treat you carelessly without knowing that you put in that hundred measures of devotion.

The thought comes to me whether people who live without knowing this purpose, just eating their rice and going about, might not fall ill. It is so with the Teacher himself. There is a heavenly law. On the day one violates that law, one perishes.

The Teacher, until now, in the midst of all such storms, in a process where all kinds of adversity beat down, settled this road and cultivated such a foundation.

The Teacher, in the midst of life in the real world, knew what stages this develops and built up that formulaic process. You must know that, crossing over the brink of death hundreds of times, he has become a Teacher who can, today, face you and speak thus.

Let Us Become Ones Not Ashamed Before the Grieving Spirits of the History of the Providence of Restoration

Seeing such things, the fate that can decide whether, centered on our Unification Church today, we achieve what the pitiable laborers of Restoration who came and went in the past shed so much blood and put in devotion and wished for, depends on you as individuals.

Whether you do it or not, the Teacher does not know. Because you do not do it, the Unification Church does not perish, and the Teacher does not perish. Even if the Teacher dies, the Teacher goes his whole road.

The name of the Unification Church goes toward the world. Seen thus, must you go this road, or not? “We must go.” Then, since this is the highest devotion, you must set up your prestige. There must be a face. That is why devotion beyond that of the ancestors is needed.

You will not know at all that there have been unspeakable accounts in the Teacher’s family, or in the Teacher’s cultivating this road until now. The Teacher is quite hot-tempered by nature. He is a person who cannot endure seeing injustice. And yet, that he has endured thus until now is because he knows that if it goes awry once, a history of hundreds of millions of years is twisted off course.

If, doing wrong, he loses his temper first, an event of heaven and earth being overturned breaks out. The Teacher does not converse with people of the satanic world. Knowing that, let the people who want to go this road raise their hands. Raise them with your mind firmly made up. Do not raise them just because others do. Lower your hands.

Then what kind of time is the present time?

As I said earlier, we enter an age of total attack. We form units in each place in South Korea and deploy them to their positions. Originally, it should be done from June 1, but because it is now the nationwide anti-communist week, we cannot make the personnel transfers.

Since we are all in a standpoint of taking responsibility and giving anti-communist lectures, if we make personnel transfers, there will be a hindrance, so we postponed it to July 1. But originally, together with the June 1 special prayer, it is not defending against the attack of the satanic world but attacking the satanic world. To achieve this, equipping a new system, we have divided from the headquarters into some thirty places. Do you understand?

So the people at the headquarters will be new members. They will not know the history of the Unification Church well. To make them know what they do not know, one must both beat them and give them discipline to the point that their strength gives out.

Is that all right even so?

Even if one gives discipline, if they take advantage and swindle, they receive punishment, but if you, receiving that discipline, come to do well, is that not good? Well, is it all right to do so, or do you dislike it? Are the women here all right? “It is all right.” Really?

That is why you must go the road you are to go without resting.

Since all the countless grieving spirits who wove the history of Restoration so, the people who had prepared for us until now, have all passed on, and only people from the standpoint of passersby crossing a crossroads have come here, how much must the Teacher’s heart have festered? Would his heart have festered, or not? If the laborers of Restoration had not died and had all become Unification believers in your place, what need would there be of the Teacher’s command?

How well trained they would be. If it were, this must be done; they would do it not knowing whether they would live or die, but you, even when told, whether you will listen or not, throwing back your heads and making a fuss, are doing all sorts of things. That must not be.

Now you will have known what our purpose is. The Teacher works for your road and for the Unification Church, but you work for yourselves. Your road you yourselves must go. Just as, when a child is born of a parent, that child grows and becomes a parent in turn, you must know that a course of indemnity remains for you too. Setting up that standard, do not become such people as the sorrowful and pitiable laborers of Restoration, but receive all the blessings of the ancestors. And you must become ones who can uphold them and vindicate them and resolve their han (해원성사) and liberate them.

They died from a Cain-like standpoint. And thus, up until the Unification Church came out in this age, they have been grieving spirits of the spiritual world. Then we, who are in the Abel-like standpoint, must resurrect them. In resurrecting them, one must resurrect even their deeds.

You must know that it is standing in such a standpoint that the Teacher tells this historic content. You must not become one who loses face before the people you must take responsibility for.

Prayer

Father, we know that the days of the flowing history became days that conveyed sorrow and presented Heaven with conditions of sighing.

Father, discern the fate of Korea. When we come to think that it is being driven into the standpoint of a fate that cannot but be isolated in Asia, we know that we are placed at a solemn point where, with the earnest heart with which Elijah appealed, saying, “I, even I only, am left,” we cannot but win the Father’s heart and draw in the whole spiritual world and make a final decisive settlement.

Today is June 8. O Father, we know that we cannot but inherit, through this company of unification, the earnest heart and single-mindedness that Thou requirest. Whoever may betray and reject us, even though we, becoming naked bodies, undergo humiliation a thousand and ten thousand times, we must become Thy children who know how to keep that fidelity, saying we will die for the Father’s purpose.

We know that the Father toils to make a starting point that can unify the historic borderline of han where North and South Korea are divided. When we come to think of the fact that the division into north and south was something that should have been accomplished at nation versus nation, but, because these people failed to uphold Thy purpose, in a standpoint where people and people are divided, it became a ground of bitter resentment that cannot but be sorted out, we know well how sorrowful and how aggrieved Thou wast.

We who, bearing such a historic mission, have stood at the vanguard, must now, equipping a solemn attitude of heart, enter the holy of holies, light a candle, and be able to offer a true sacrifice before the Father and consecrate a substance. Grant, we earnestly hope and desire, O Father, that Thou make us keenly feel that we cannot but become a figure that can, with a tearful heart and a humble attitude, apologize before the Father’s presence and beg forgiveness, resolving to become such offerings.

The day when the Father’s accounts, which no one knows, of Thy toil to pioneer the road of Restoration, can be made known to the whole world under Heaven must come quickly. The day when, opening breast to breast, we can announce Thy situation must come quickly. When, beyond the people, all the people of the world come to know such things, since it is our fault that the Father came to stand in such a sorrowful and aggrieved standpoint, strike us and resolve all the sorrowful accounts. Grant, we earnestly hope and desire that Thou let us think again that we cannot but become filial sons and filial daughters who can writhe, begging forgiveness.

The road of unification is a road no one wished for and which even Satan resented. We have known that on this road we at least must not vanish as a company of resentment. We know that, becoming the company that remains, we must without fail plant the marker of victory and liberate Heaven and liberate the earth and attend the Father upon a foundation of glory and live.

We come to think that, if we fail to, a han of a thousand and ten thousand years remains. So the day must come when, attending the Father with all devotion and all our heart, we, in a figure of rapture, embroider our true heart upon the Father’s heart, and, with a liberated heart, call The Father, and the Father calls us sons, and we can embrace one another by the neck and wail.

We know that every one cannot but be so, and each nation cannot but be so. We know that the Republic of Korea, if the Republic of Korea must, centered on Heaven, make such a day when it can wail together with the companies that opposed the Unification Church. We must become Thy children who can here sigh over ourselves for not yet having equipped all the offering-like conditions and who can resolve the han (해원성사) of this people and fulfill the responsibility of a priest.

We have surely known that, though the night passes and the dawn passes, the single-hearted devotion for Thee must not pass but must go against the current and rise. We must have a record by which, because today was thus, tomorrow we can go nearer, and because this year was thus, next year we can go nearer before the Father; and grant, we earnestly hope and desire, that Thou make us Thy children who writhe, resolving to become true filial sons and filial daughters who, knowing that the heart of a thousand-year history dwells within the name “Father,” can serve the Father.

This hour today, remember the children scattered in Seoul and throughout the whole nation, and I earnestly ask and desire that Thou protect and embrace Thy children who, scattered throughout the world, admiring this place and awaiting meeting again, pray in tears.

I have spoken the words “the pitiable laborers of Restoration.” They left, together with sorrowful tears, leaving behind han. Grant that Thy children, who, gathering this up, centered on today’s denomination of unification, have immersed their bodies in the holy foundation that is the source of attendance, may not become ones who violate or trample and pass over the standard for which those toiled; and grant that they may become Thy children who resolve to resurrect this and, setting it up before Heaven as a condition of boasting, as a condition by which they can bless them, pass over. I earnestly ask and desire that Thou grant that this may become an hour of surely knowing that, to do so, we cannot but put in devotion beyond them and be loyal before the nation and before Thee beyond them.

Because the time is what it is, I have spoken such words. Through this message, let them, from the deep valley of their hearts, recognize Heaven anew and set up a standard of judgment by which they can compare what standpoint they themselves have stood.

Since I have delivered this message to have them equip an attitude lacking nothing as new laborers of Heaven, I earnestly ask that Thou grant that, together with this message, they may set themselves anew before the Father; and I have spoken all these words in the name of the True Parents. Amen.
