Today, let us read Chapter V of Pyeong Hwa Shin Gyeong (Holy Scripture of Peace). The title is “Cheon Il Guk Is the Ideal Heavenly Kingdom of Great Peace.” It is the same as this year's motto, and the beginning was from that time. This year's motto will be brought to completion in Cain and Abel.
The New Completed Testament Era
To commemorate the Wongu Peace Cup Cain-Abel Cosmic Federation Tournament, the True Parents also played a match, centering on the day that Brazil's Sorocaba soccer team played. It was a tournament. At that time, your Teacher was ahead by six points. Centering on those six points, this year I connected the possibility for the solar and lunar calendars to become one.
So what is this year's motto? Was it not brought? My pocket notebook was not brought.
What is recorded on the first page of that pocket notebook?
Welcoming the tenth year of Cheon Il Guk, the notable item is "the era in which the lunar and solar calendars must be unified.” Through this, it becomes the era in which vertical and horizontal can be bound together. It is the work of making them one.
Where is my pocket notebook?
I asked for the notebook to be brought, but it was already here! In here, I have written down all the secret history of President Moon — are you curious about what the first piece of history is, or not? “We are curious.” What was recorded on the last day? The first and the last will form the vertical principle — would you like me to teach you what they are or not? “We would like you to teach us.”
On New Year's Day next year, I shall have this made just as it is into a book for the guests who come. There is only one in heaven and on earth. It has not yet been entered into the Heavenly Museum. The museum will only exist after I have gone, will it not? Everything is contained here. Furthermore, what once ran to over ninety pages has been condensed into 33 pages and two-and-a-half lines. Who would know that?
Bear deeply and again deeply in mind the meaning of the New True Peace World True Parents' UN World Settlement Rally — and like this it comes to only 33 pages and two-and-a-half lines. All of it is contained here. This is what I inserted when giving the lecture in Las Vegas. Shall I even read this for you? (True Father reads in Hoon Dok Hae the added portion of Chapter XVII of Pyeong Hwa Shin Gyeong: “Blessed honored guests who shall lead the New Completed Testament Era!”)
Those who have not received the Blessing, raise your hands. Those who have received the Blessing, raise your hands. All have received the Blessing! In the New Completed Testament Era, Jesus must come again. In the Old Testament Era, the New Testament Era, and then the Era of the Second Advent, what does the Lord do when He comes and lives until ninety years of age?
This speaks of the Era of God's Family, the Realm of the Fourth Heart. It is theoretical. There is nothing to omit. (Reading continued: “Blessed honored guests who shall lead the New Completed Testament Era!”)
You are blessed, honored guests. Your Teacher himself is treating you as honored guests. Since I have not yet gone to the spirit world, if you die before me, you go to the spirit world first. Having gone there, you must wait and once again receive education from your Teacher. You must go there and wait. There is no teacher apart from me. (Reading continued; “This very age is the period of fruition of the final providence which Heaven has so long been awaiting.”)
In Las Vegas, I returned for the eighteenth time. On the 22nd, the day of eating red bean porridge — the day on which the night is longest — when one could be driven out by the women because there is no man, I came and said, “You rascals! Even if the night is long, will you listen to my words or not?” — and those who would not listen, I would blow away and do away with.
I returned because the authority of the man must be established. (Reading continued; “In particular, right now is the December Christmas festive period, bringing the ninth year of Cheon Il Guk to a close. It is a great honor that we, the True Parents of humanity, are able during this precious time to make this cosmic-level proclamation here in Las Vegas — the center of the western United States, where also the flower of Western culture is blooming......”)
The Value of the Textbooks and Teaching Materials
A grand rally was held; the people who attended at that time are not here, are they? Ordinary people could not come. It was a gathering where only people such as presidents of nations, vice presidents, or speakers of national assemblies came. (Reading continued; “Through today's proclamation, Las Vegas, following Heaven's lead, will from now on shape the history of a true Western culture......”)
If President Moon remains, the center proceeds that way. All the precious things of the world are there. (Reading continued; “The supreme textbooks and teaching materials, which contain the heavenly truth that we, the True Parents, have received directly from God and have devoted our lives to teaching, have been produced as seven volumes......”)
The textbooks and teaching materials of God have been completed. The place where such textbooks and teaching materials were announced was Las Vegas — the first and at the same time the last. (Reading continued; “Please obtain these textbooks and stand for your nation and your family before Heaven......”)
Even if you cut off and sell your own male organ, you cannot buy these. Even if you swear to bequeath all the assets of your ancestors and of your descendants for thousands of generations to me, this is a book that cannot be exchanged. They are the textbooks and teaching materials of God — do you want to exchange your assets for them? First, you must buy 430 sets and establish a fence around your tribe. If you fail to do that, even the fence will be gone.
If you have done the first round, then ten times that is how much?
430 times ten is 4,300 sets. A hundredfold is 43,000 sets, and ten-thousandfold is how much? Only when you exceed 4.3 million sets does it carry the value of the form of a nation. They are not given away for free. How much will you buy them? How much in assets do you have now?
Yesterday I spoke about the wife — in God's family, what is what is mine within? What is mine within is my wife. You are hearing such words, such an interpretation, for the first time, are you not? What is mine within is my bride. What is mine on the other person's side is my bridegroom. He is on the other side.
From the woman's standpoint, because what is on her opposite side is hers, he is the bridegroom. My bridegroom is the new master. (Reading continued; “The textbooks and teaching materials have been produced as seven volumes......”) That too is finished.
So I am preparing to depart on a journey. Since I have made for God what God could not make, would God worry, or would He outline it in procession?
When I liberate God and explain the textbooks and teaching materials, and the day comes when [God says], “It is right,” all the affairs of the world are overturned instantly. Do you think God will wait? It happens in one second, in one second!
In The Owner of Peace, the Owner of Lineage, what is the foremost problem here? (True Father reads in Hoon Dok Hae the Foreword of The Owner of Peace, the Owner of Lineage: “...... I pray that the grace of Heaven may overflow upon you, your families, and your nations. — Editorial Office”)
When one says “editor,” it is one person, but this refers to the headquarters. It refers to God's Headquarters. As for the subtitles here — “The World Changes in One Second; the Owner of Peace; Without a Man, There Is No Woman Either.” Well, without a man, the woman vanishes. Without a woman, does the man remain alone, or does he vanish too? “He vanishes.” So you do know!
So that it may not so vanish, the man has a woman, and the woman has a man. The meeting of those two becomes the foundation of the mother and father.
Hailar on the Border with the Soviet Union
In the Cheonjamun (千字文, Thousand Character Classic), when you turn the page from “cheonji hyeonhwang” (天地玄黃, “heaven is dark, earth is yellow”), “yulyeo joyang” (律呂調陽, “the pitch-pipes regulate the yang”) comes forth.
By regulating the yang of the royal law of the heavenly nation and the law of the earth — the laws of the two nations — there is “undeung chiu” (雲騰致雨, “clouds rise and bring rain”).
The clouds rise and rain falls — do you know that thereby all of heaven and earth came to be? In the Cheonjamun, within those thousand characters, the whole of the affairs of the world is contained.
When I was studying the Cheonjamun, I remember stretching out my legs and weeping after [reaching] “ikki eon (焉), ikki jae (哉), on ho (乎), ikki ya (也).” “Whew! I have learned this — but how shall I put it into practice?”
My granduncle was a pastor. He became a pastor at the age of forty-one, and he was fluent in Chinese classical studies and knew everything about the prophetic books of the East. That Granduncle Yun-guk founded Osan School.
At that time, it was Deokseong-dong, Deokdal-myeon — “Deokdal,” meaning that virtue (덕) had reached its full (달). It was Sangsa Village, where Jaepi Bridge stood. How does that story relate to today's history of the True Parents, centering on the Providence of Restoration?
You cannot imagine how completely the whole picture was traced after that very model. Within that area, there were Mount Obong and Mount Myodu — and the character was “myo (猫, cat).” Beneath Mount Myodu was Mount Obong, and beneath that was Osan School.
What place is called the roof of the world?
Crossing the Himalayas and centering on the Tianshan Mountains, the heaven and earth of the Central Plain came into being. The place called Hailar (海拉爾) is the region bordering the Soviet Union.
Not the Yangtze River of China, but what river is it? “The Songhua.” In the south is the Yangtze, but in the north, what river flows? The Songhua flows into the Heilongjiang. There are the Tumen, the Yalu, and the Songhua — and the Songhua, joining together, becomes the Heilongjiang.
There live fearsome fish there — fish that catch and eat three at once, not only a cow and a bull but their calf besides. The Heilongjiang, into which the Songhua flows, runs several thousand li. On the way to the North Sea (Sea of Okhotsk), the distance exceeds 4,000 kilometers. Such a great river is the Heilongjiang. When I heard those words, I thought, “Ah, the heaven and earth of the Central Plain......! I must go to that vast heaven and earth.”
Three provinces (省) are contained in that place. I had planned to graduate from Waseda and find employment at Manchurian Electric Industry, and go to Hailar.
Why so? To learn the language, centering on the Baekgye Noin (白系露人, the White Russians) — the Russians who had been driven out. I also thought of learning Chinese and the language of Tibet.
What kind of nation is China, a nation with so many people? Now they say the people of India number more than 1.6 billion! The language of India — and then the language of Thailand.
So how many languages is that?
Soviet, Chinese, Tibetan, Indian, and then Thai — I would have to learn five languages. I studied English on my own. Because I studied during the Japanese occupation period, my pronunciation is not good, but I can read books. My Bible book was this size. I boast of my pocket notebook — it was a book the size of a pocket notebook. I read that pocket-notebook-sized Bible for several years. I searched up words in that Bible until it became tattered.
Even now, I know all the words, but my pronunciation is not right. If only my pronunciation were clear, that would be all.
Since I was born in the year of the Monkey, I am good at imitating. With songs, too, there is no song I cannot sing. As a student, I listened to all the records stacked up at the boarding house within three weeks. My, no song was not there. Love and so on — there were many tales of twists and turns. Among the songs of Pyeongan Province, “The water flowing from Yangdeok-Maengsan......” — The water flowing from Yangdeok-Maengsan becomes the Daedong River of Pyongyang and goes all the way to Mount Daebo.
Your Teacher cannot but cross every ridge of that history. My grandfather and grandmother also said, “If we cannot guard this ridge, if we cannot guard the Daedong River, Korea will be lost.” Such content is found among the prophecies of ancient books. Isn't our household the one that must guard it?
A Household Through Which the Independence Army Came and Went
My grandfather told the descendants of our household not to enter school. He said that those who entered school would die away from home. Yongseon's father died away from home.
My father, too, would have died away from home, but he had not studied at school. He studied entirely on his own. My father was the eldest nephew of the granduncle.
That granduncle bought my father the books for Osan High Common School, from first to fourth year, and said that if he could memorize them in a year and a half and pass the examination, he would, through the mission headquarters, arrange for him to enter the most famous university in America — whichever university any American would want to enter, the one he wished.
So how was he to handle the entire body of books up to the fourth year in just a year and a half? He had to become one with the back room. He was asked to memorize all those books that filled a whole room.
You cannot imagine how brilliant my father's mind was. The hymnal had over four hundred hymns, and whatever number you gave, he knew them all.
So he did not carry a hymnal about with him. With the Bible too, if you mentioned it, he would say, “I have memorized it all,” and would have me read it through — boasting to me, his son.
He said, “You too are your father's son, so to establish your dignity and standing, you must unravel what has become of the Four Books and Three Classics and the secrets of the sexagenary cycle (Yukgap). Of those tasks, there are several I will not teach you.” For that reason, you cannot know how I agonized.
Such stories are not really fit to tell, but I must leave at least such traces in my autobiography so that people may find them and say, “He has been linked through the ancestors — there is a historicity in the connection!”
They were Grandfathers Moon Chi-guk, Moon Shin-guk, and Moon Yun-guk. Anyone preparing for the state examination, before going to sit it, would secretly come to Granduncle Yun-guk to receive a lecture and then leave.
When rain fell, when lightning struck, in winter when snow fell — between 1 and 3 in the morning — people wearing bear-hide, wolf-hide, and dog-hide clothing, with mufflers ranging from weasel to otter fur, would come visiting.
Wearing such animal-hide garments, they went about fundraising, but there was no kind of gun they did not have. They double-layered the heels of their boots and concealed six-shooter revolvers inside.
When they wore boots containing pistols (권총), people thought they were merely boots — who would know there were pistols inside? And when fired, they hit targets cleanly at long range.
In our undurin (backyard), there was a broad field, and there we had planted juniper trees and grown them well. It was so dense that even if someone came through there, no one would know, and it was connected with the pine grove behind and served as a fence. The Japs investigated daily.
So they came along that path during snowstorms and sleet or when rain had poured for several days and water flowed in such a way that footprints would be washed over.
My, they came into the house wearing strange clothes I had never seen before, and because of the cold, all sorts of odd hats — all kinds of appearances. And I would already know. My name at that time was Yong-myeong, with the character “yong” (龍, dragon). “Yong-myeong! Guests have come, so go and be in the hall there.” That is what they would say.
One Must Hear the Absolute Sound
The main building of the house had a kitchen, and it was a four-bay house with three rooms: the lower room, the upper room, and the hall. In the hall, the ritual vessels were kept. Among the ritual vessels kept there were wooden vessels. They were made from good wood — birch and other such woods — wood that would not rot even for ten thousand years. For ritual vessels and ritual tables, they cut the finest trees from the mountains and made them from them, and we stacked those vessels centered in the hall.
With those, my mother prepared the ancestor rites — and for twelve months a year, she had to polish the brass vessels, polish the spoons... How hard that work must have been. Even my mother, who had a fiery temperament, endured and polished the ritual vessels for attending the ancestors until they were clean. She made them shine more brilliantly than new vessels from the Napcheong-ri factory. That is the devotion she gave.
In such a household, beneath such a strict mother, your Teacher grew up. However strict my mother was, I did not obey her every word. Why? Because I heard sounds my mother could not hear. They taught me from the air. Sounds came from the air. Everyone must hear the absolute sound. You must hear the voice of the heart.
If you do not know, when you call out “Heart!” it answers, “Why?” — and when you ask, “What is this?” and open your mouth and stay quiet, your tongue speaks of itself. That is how you listen and come to know.
Having grown up that way, I knew of guests coming to find me from 10 ri away. I knew that at houses 70 or 80 or even 120 ri away, a monk would be preparing to come meet me in a few days, and a famous patriotic gentleman was on his way, and I would wait for them. And when I knew that if they entered within 300 meters, they would be captured, I had to go and tell them so.
So [I would be told]: “Go out, and when you cross one ridge, there is a poplar tree—eat your lunch and wait there. Eat while playing with the village children. Then a passing guest wearing a sun-shading hat will appear.” And, “When such a person passes, listen to what he says and come back.” That was the phrase used among spies to communicate. I, of course, did not understand it, for it was used as a code.
So though it might seem I knew nothing of the underground movement, no one knew as much as I did. They did such an investigation about people, but I did an investigation about animals as well. With foxes, foxes steal to eat. I had to know that secret — and the butchers, when they had nothing to eat, would cross several villages and at night steal the treasures of rich households; such games they played as well. Some good people moved underground. Some people took me about and taught me.
When Independence Army soldiers and such guests came at 1 in the morning, all their signals were different. They would blow strange whistles, and knock strangely on the walls, and there were many signals where, centering on the cow barn, when the dogs were asleep, they would put the dog forward and strike it. Our grandfathers knew them all.
And so your Teacher was pushed into the corner of the room and pretended to sleep. And while doing so, I listened thoroughly to everything they said. That they had gone to such-and-such a village to kill someone, and this and that had happened. And hearing the talk of the days they had spent in those villages, they were a fearsome lot.
When such people came between 1 and 3, we made noodles for them or rice cakes, and if they had a long journey ahead, we packed lunch boxes. My mother did all this by herself. There were other sisters-in-law, but they could not be trusted.
Even my aunt could not be trusted. Though she came from a respectable family, to set her sons and daughters up with their households, she might sell secret information to anyone who gave her money.
When I saw the daughters-in-law being scolded by my grandfather, my, it was fearsome. I knew all of that. I knew what my aunt or anyone else was about to do. “Auntie, where are you going today?” “I'm going somewhere in the east.” “You must not go there. It will be bad if you go. Go and see. You know me, don't you?” When I said that, she would say, “I won't go!”
And then when she set out to take to the road, I was keeping watch. “You said you wouldn't go — where are you going now?” I already knew. “You know where I'm going! If you tell me not to go, I won't. Is it terrible if I go?” “When I say don't go, don't go. Do not take it as a child's words. It is a command from Heaven.” — that history of living authoritatively is still alive.
When the village held a celebration, the helper-women who had taken rice cakes or other things and hidden them, what would happen? I went and uncovered them.
“Auntie! Since you steal like this, I'm going to drive you out — will you do it again or not?” “I won't! I won't. I'll tell you everything.” I asked her to eat that. How difficult it is to hide and eat, how much one's heart is consumed in the doing! Though she had stolen it when she took it and ate it, I asked her to eat with her heart at ease. So I knew all the secrets of the village women.
Training Worthy of the Founder of the Unification Church
In every household, at the Lunar New Year, they would buy rice syrup. I had arranged. And so I told them, “Take a jar or the like and ladle out a jar's worth and come back.” At the Lunar New Year, hard taffy had to be made — but there were neither beans nor rice syrup.
Even if they brought the rice syrup themselves, was there bean?
I went into the storeroom and brought out beans. For what was stacked there were beans.
This is what I would say to my grandfather: “Grandfather! If beans go missing or rice goes missing, know that I have taken them. If I do not say this, then either I will be beaten to death by Grandfather, or Grandfather will be beaten to death by my friends — one of the two will be done away with.
If those things go missing, understand that I took them, and do not spread word of it; pretend not to know.” Several sacks of beans or several sacks of rice were no problem. When you opened the storeroom door, everything was there.
Even cotton cloth used for formal wedding attire (ye-jang, 禮裝), if kept in the house, could be stolen. When thugs came to the house and said, “You've got cotton of such-and-such a count for your son's and daughter's wedding goods, haven't you? Hand it over!” — one could not refuse.
So they would take from our storeroom and use it. At our house, we wove from twelve-count up to thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, and seventeen counts. It was better than muslin.
When I had a Western suit made for myself from that, every house in the village, when a wedding was held, would say they would sell all their assets to pay for it if we would arrange that suit fabric from our house — so I said, “Just take it, don't sell it!” When the only daughter or only son of a poor household was getting married, I gave it out, telling them to make clothes from it or use it as they wished. I am someone who oversaw even that.
So was I trained to be worthy to become the Founder of the Unification Church, or not? I studied at the village school, and at the age of eight, I wrote better than those calligraphies. All those writings I threw away. When I wrote those, I wrote rapidly without resting on anything. This time too, when writing, I took hold of large spaces and wrote calligraphy. That training is in place. It means I know how much it is. I do not draw lines and then write.
If you look at the character “kwon” (圈) in “Cheon Ji Bumo Cheonju Anshik Kwon,” because the left leg is weak, at the bottom it leans toward that side, but at the top it turns sharply. I matched the bottom and the top. I wrote so that it would not fall over. My grandfather also wrote calligraphy well.
Grandfather wrote on jangji (long writing paper). As for the model calligraphy (chegeul) used by people preparing for the state examination to write elegantly, I wrote better than Grandfather. From the age of eight, I was made to write model calligraphy for others.
Do you know what jangji is? “Yes.” Jangji is what is used when writing for the state examination. It is the long sort of thing used to make something like a great folding screen, and it has to be made well.
Set vertically, it is three sheets, with six sides. To write model calligraphy on those six sides, even writing for a week, one could not fill them all. It had to be written for half a month. Having written model calligraphy for half a month, naturally, one's writing became the master form.
I Am Also Good at Appraising Buildings and Objects
When I look from here, if there is something off by 1 centimeter over there, I know immediately. Eom Deok-mun built the Sejong Cultural Center, and they said the dividing rail on the fifth-floor wall would be done uniformly, but one was set out by more than 1 centimeter. “Between the head and the tail, there is a discrepancy of 1 centimeter and some fractions — why was it made with such a difference? Looking up from the side, that is off. Is it off, or is it not?” He said he had not made it off. “To my eye, it is not off — it is correct.” So I said, “Then measure it!”
I, looking at the fifth floor, knew that the place where they had fastened the battens coming out from the blue balcony floor was off by more than 1 centimeter. It should have been done straight, but he did it that way by trusting his own eyes. The expert did not know. Why did he not know? Because he looked from this side, he could not see it, but I looked from over and across, so I could see it.
Even now it is the same. He designs and brings things to me. The Ministry of Education recommended Eom Deok-mun as one of the world's 100 architects.
They sent notice that he was to receive an award from the Minister of Education and told him to come collect it, but for seven years, he did not go to collect it.
So the Ministry of Education could neither burn it nor get rid of it. Seven years later, the man who had been the chief secretary of the Minister of Education became — was it a vice-minister? — and brought it to him; at that time, he received it and brought it to me. That award, I mean. Even now, whenever he has built a building, I appraise it all.
Yesterday, someone with great devotion brought a piece fitting for the table where I sit. This board, too, is reddish. If you go to South America, the color of old trees is like that, and it is harder than stone or iron. They said they had done najeon chilgi (mother-of-pearl lacquerwork) on such a board — I had not known that. They placed it on the side — and who had placed it there? They brought a stand on which it could be set.
So I asked the very person who had made it, “You made that?” and he said he had made it. Setting it down and looking at it from the front, it was truly made with great devotion. Because he is a friend of Mr. Eom, I know how to look at najeon chilgi. To make a small piece with angles like that — to make it with shell — is difficult. The border line all around was decorated with najeon chilgi, and the seams were barely visible. It looked as if one person had cut it with one blade.
That is not something an ordinary skill can make, because it keeps breaking. I must have appraised it for over three hours. It is a precious item fit for a museum. Looking at the board from the side, I saw there was no decoration.
For a precious item, normally, one does the gold border in 14-karat gold, and so on for the whole. I looked at it centering on that, but when I tried to lift it from here like this, the object was quite heavy. A lot of 14-karat gold had gone into it. When I tried this way, it would not lift.
In that case, if there had been handles on the left and right, or even a small ring between this post and this post, it would have served as decoration as well; and if a pulley or the like had been attached so as not to be seen, how much more manageable it would have been — I spoke at length, saying that dragging it could cause a crack.
The chef responsible for making it is a famous man. He is a technician who appraises nationally important treasures in Europe; as he greeted your Teacher and said, “I understand. Following your view, I will do so even now,” I said, “No, don't do that. If anything is to be added, I will add it!”
The Notebook I Began Writing in on October 3, 2001
I told someone to bring the notebook.... Look at this. What is written here in the notebook? At the very beginning, I wrote it when starting Cheon Il Guk — this one notebook. There is still room remaining that can be used from year 10 to year 13. It is a book ordered to that exact specification — what is it like when you look at it? The time I began this book was not January 3, 2001 — I began writing on October 3. Preparing all things took that span of time: “October 3, 2001, World Unified Nation Foundation Day (Gae Cheon Il).”
Ten years ago, I made this book, and I should have written in it from January 2001, but I began on October 3. It began with the proclamation of the World Unified Nation Foundation Day.
What kind of day is the Unified Nation Foundation Day?
It is the day on which not only God's homeland and hometown but the nation and homeland of all peoples began, in heaven and on earth. Look here. What did I write first? I marked it as 1 and then went 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
What is the great one? “God's Coronation Ceremony of Kingship and the Departure of the New Heaven and New Earth.” Was what was written on this day written knowingly or not? The overall title is the World Unified Nation Foundation Day.
The Foundation Day began. There, the great one is the Coronation Ceremony of God's Kingship only and the Departure of the New Heaven and New Earth.
First, the words “I,” “you,” and “we” must begin from God. So I wrote. It is a nation that attends to God. The Lord of this universe is not two but one.
God's Coronation Ceremony of Kingship and the Departure of the New Heaven and New Earth: the words “I,” “you,” and “we” must begin from God. I came to know the nation that attends God. A pregnant woman must be made to hold, from within the womb, the thought of attending God.
The words “I,” “you,” and “we” must begin from God. Throughout history, the only nation that has attended and lived with God is Korea (한국, Hanguk). That is why it is Korea — a nation full of han (한). It is the only nation.
If the han-filled history of Korea were revealed like a waterfall, what would happen? It is: “Because this is a nation paying the indemnity (탕감) that can open the door of happiness, it is unavoidable; you too must accept this. — Such is the road that you walk.” Our Hyung Jin speaks of “Seven Deaths and Resurrections (七死復活), Completion of the Eighth Stage (八段完成)” — who taught him so? God taught him.
I, too, was taught by God. The one who educated President Moon was Heaven; Heaven educated me. There was no one else. I know that. So I write all such words. The words “I,” “you,” and “we” must begin from God.
If God does not intervene, this nation will perish. That is why, however difficult the world may be, it must not perish. It cannot perish. I am the one protecting it.
A Genius Grandson Who Writes with His Mouth and Toes
I was not afraid of the Japs. My going to Japan to study was also like that. I transferred to Jeongju Common School, and they came to know that I was a descendant of an ancestor's household that had founded Osan School — a household of patriots.
So what did the principal — and the police and the teachers — do regarding the places I went? Every day they would come out as far as the Dallae Bridge and wait, and once I reached the school gate, they would fall back; and waiting at the school gate again, when I had crossed the Dallae Bridge, they would fall back. If I were to die, it could have become a problem. It could have been said that the Japanese nation, to ruin a household of patriotic gentlemen, had done away with a bright grandson.
My grandfather, too, knew that among his grandsons there was a Heaven-given genius. Why was he a genius? Probably, Kim Hyeong-tae's father was the village chief of that village. That father, who was the village chief, came to know my grandfather. Because a renowned honored guest had come and was teaching at the village school as a master, they served him lunch, and whenever he had been anywhere and returned, they invariably invited him and entertained him, so they were close.
They lived as if they were one household with their relatives, and Kim Hyeong-tae's father, finding my grandfather handsome and of heroic mien, when Grandfather lay sleeping, would say to his wife, “How is it that such a grandfather, having lost even his hometown, comes as a guest to our house to sleep?” — and just as one bows before the Buddha, he would bow many times before the sleeping grandfather.
That grandfather had said, “There is a genius grandson in our house — others write with their hands, but that grandson writes with his mouth and with his toes.” That was indeed so. From the age of eight, I wrote the model calligraphy (chegeul) that Grandfather used to write — with my mouth, and with my feet. So in that house, he would say, in words only he knew, that such a genius existed.
And he said, “In truth, a descendant of ours with great promise is growing up, and I will tell you just one thing your descendants can remember!” And what did he tell them? “An eight-year-old child writes the model calligraphy taught to those preparing for the state examination — for if they cannot write well, their handwriting score is lowered — and since even when he provides the model, they cannot follow it, he writes with his mouth.” That is, holding the brush in his mouth.
He did not write only with his mouth like that — he also wrote with his toes. Goodness, even when what was written with mouth and toes was given to those receiving the model calligraphy, they did not know how it had been written.
So he had reason to boast that a child prodigy was growing up. I am such a person. I have dexterity with my hands. When my older sisters did knitting and the like, I could finish a pair of socks easily in one night. Snip-snip-snip, very fast.
In carving knitting needles out of bamboo, there was no one with more skill than I. Most people cannot whittle them perfectly round. I would whirl it about like this and shape it just so. Ordinary people do not know how. They make various holes and poke through them. When you poke through, the hole that remains is certainly round, and you use that for knitting. If you don't do that, the bamboo will certainly crack.
Because knitting needles were this long, to knit underwear and the like, you have to take one ja or two ja and knit from here while pushing along. So you have to take large bamboo — one over one ja — and make it round just so.
The words “I,” “you,” and “we” must begin from God! Not from me. Not from someone called Moon Yong-myeong. It is God Himself who does it directly, so be careful. So can one write here carelessly?
When this is taken to ten, what is it? My, everything is contained in there. With even one page of this — were one the governor-general of Korea — one could run things for ten years on its contents.
This goes in large letters from 1 to 8, and the great 7 is “World Peace Embassy and the Era of Heaven's Sovereignty.” Era of Heaven's Kingship! It is the era of God's Kingship.
From there it continues, with all kinds of things, and fourth is “Era of the Possibility of Marriage with the Spirit World.” Because the Four Great Saints, and then historically the saints and sages required at the level of nations, are Blessed in marriage, do you know that several hundred billion people are to be Blessed? It was done in this age.
The great 8 is “The Issue of the International Dispatch of 430 Japanese Members.” 430 missionaries — matching the number seven. It began from that time.
First, the Mother Nation is responsible for the education and nurturing of brothers and sisters worldwide; second, the Mother must establish education and norms of life! It is so because families are emphasized.
Third, the issue of Eve and the work of leveling life must be accomplished; fourth, the oneness of the spiritual and physical worlds must be achieved; fifth, the resolution of life-issues centering on education, publicity, the circulation structure of finance, and harmonious leveling! I have set out all of it concretely in this way. There is not one thing to omit. That is how your Teacher proceeds.

Have a Dream
Above the King of Kings, the King of Peace — may you become the King of Lineage, the Owner of Peace and Lineage. Without that, one cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. With the authority of the Blessing, the heavenly gate is opened and the gate of hell is thrown wide open. When you say, “Pack your bundle and get out, you wretch!” — They say, “Yes, I understand,” and withdraw. It is the great peaceful era — Mansei for hundreds of millions of years.
It is God's homeland and hometown centered on the sovereignty of victory; it is my homeland and hometown — and in one place, two homelands and two hometowns have been formed. The individual purpose and the whole purpose have been brought to completion within me; since I walk together with God, there is none to block me and nothing that cannot be done. Mansei! (Reading continued; “I pray and proclaim that the Blessing may overflow high and high upon your new families and new nation and upon the new cosmos as a whole, in the name of the victorious invisible and formless True God and the True Parents. The meaning is this: “Today's great victory is not the True Parents' victory but the victory of heaven and earth — a victory by which all creation, every one of us, may live revived together in gratitude.” There is no objection to this. The invisible God, taking on a substantial body, becomes the King of Kings. There being a Father and a Mother who can become the one Owner, the axis is aligned so that no shadow may remain. As long as the axis does not fall upon the pillar, this axis is not broken — it is eternal. That is why it is said, “Let us all live on together in gratitude.”
That is right. Is it right or not? “It is right.” If you do not understand, then die.
Your ancestors will take you away. If you know and yet do not do, they will take you away. That is why I have set things in order cleanly. Not one thing is mine.
Everything is God's — none of it is mine. A father does not establish as his representative one who is less than himself. He is not a father who establishes someone less than himself as a representative.
It must be Sun Myung Moon, one who can even create and distribute the Blessing of entirety, totality, full authority, and omnipotence. Does this not mean that even in blessing, one is to surpass God? That is why here it says, “Let us all live on together in gratitude.” Because we can live and exercise authority greater than God's. In the world of entirety, totality, full authority, and omnipotence, there are no boundaries. None below, none above; whether you go inside or out, there are none.
If I appear even in the dark world at the far end of this earthly star, it brightens to the very end, hundreds of millions of li away. He cannot but be President Moon, one able to accomplish the creation and liberation of entirety, totality, full authority, and omnipotence, surpassing God Himself! Why? Because one desires that one's representative be greater than oneself and that the sons and daughters who become heirs surpass oneself.
You are the same. The husband wishes that his wife surpass him, and the wife wishes that her husband surpass her. No one would dislike that.
So, with all things going well, you can create new heavens to any extent you wish — meaning that however many planets and fixed stars there were forming this great cosmos before the Fall, you can create even a hundred or a thousand of those fixed stars yourselves.
Do you have curiosity? If you do not, then die.
If you do not, they will take you away. Even the spirit people who have gone to the spirit world know this and hold such desire; if you do not do what your Teacher teaches, they will take you away. Because you are an obstruction.
So, when one sets up a firefly-like Heaven in the pitch-dark midnight world within the realm of hell and says, “If you long for the radiant Kingdom of Heaven, endure a thousand-fold, ten-thousand-fold path of suffering and go!” — They are bound to say they will go.
If one is told to pay indemnity in one week for the suffering of dying and reviving every day for a thousand years, one must say one will do it. For one's representative and heir, one wishes them to surpass oneself.
God, too, the elder brother, too, the elder sister, too—all wish for someone greater than themselves. All hold such a desire. Your teacher, too. To become your Teacher's representative and heir, you must be a person able to surpass even your Teacher.
If you come to think that in the future you can do tenfold, a hundredfold, a thousandfold, ten-thousandfold, or even a hundred-millionfold what the Father can do, what becomes of that very world?
It means that as a Creator, one can create ten thousand universes. Now, knowing this, have a dream. There is the flower of the dream, but the only one who can pluck the fruit of the dream is President Moon. It means that in the age of the world, I am the only one.
