As you know, today is True Parents' Day. Centered on March 1960, we set a new day that had never existed in history, and that day is the True Parents' Day. This day must be greeted amid the rejoicing of heaven and earth.
The Days Lost Through the Fall
Had our ancestors Adam and Eve not fallen, we would already have greeted the True Parents' Day. But because Adam and Eve fell, to greet the True Parents' Day, the True Parents must first come to this earth.
Only then can one greet the True Parents' Day, and only after coming, based on that day, to have children through the True Parents can one greet the True Children's Day. When that is so, one can also greet the day of having dominion over all things.
Such days God promised to the unfallen human ancestors. But because the human ancestors fell, they came unable to greet the True Parents' Day, the True Children's Day, and the Day of All True Things, which were God’s ideal of creation.
Accordingly, God too, as the God who had completed the purpose of the creation of heaven and earth, could not greet a day on which He could rejoice and a day of which He could be proud.
Of course, the fall is that Adam and Eve fell into a state of having lost God, but through the fall of Adam and Eve, God also lost the True Parents' Day, the True Children's Day, and the Day of All True Things. Thereby, God lost all the days He had desired.
Among the days God desired are the day when there are parents in the created world, the day when there is one family centered on those parents, and the day when there is one kindred, people, nation, and world centered on that family. But without greeting those glorious days, the history of humankind has been woven down as a history of the fall until today, and it has become a wicked world, a wicked nation, a wicked people, a wicked kindred, a wicked family, a wicked individual. Because these are not originally the purpose of creation God desired, God does not leave them as they are.
Then who is the very one who produced such wicked things?
It is none other than Satan. Therefore, this satanic world must be found and set up again on God’s side. The world God idealizes must be found and set up.
For that, one must wage a fight to draw up the wicked world; contrary to the way Satan came to form the wicked world, one must seek and climb to a good world.
Therefore, God has, within the six thousand years of history, carried on the providence of salvation, passing through three stages. And so, passing through the Old Testament Age, the age of the servant, and the New Testament Age, the age of the adopted son, He has greeted the Completed Testament Age. In the Completed Testament Age, children must appear, prepare for the position of parents, and attend to their parents. Until now, God has carried on this history of restoration.
The Savior as Parent
The highest purpose of Jesus, who came to this earth two thousand years ago, was not to save the servant. Nor was it to save the adopted son.
Then, with what purpose did Jesus come?
Holding the highest purpose of saving all created things, he came as the Savior, holding the heart (심정) of a parent.
If a person you truly love fell into water, you would wish to save him first.
If a beloved son fell into water, what parent would order a servant to save the son who had fallen into the water?
If there were such a parent, that parent would truly not be a parent who loves his son. And if there were a parent who, when his youngest son fell into water, ordered the boy’s elder brother to pull out the younger brother who had fallen into the water, that parent too would not be a parent who loves his son. There can be no such parent.
Seen through the lens of God’s heart, what kind of Savior does this fallen humankind, in a state like that of one drowning in water, need? It needs a Savior as a parent.
If God truly loves fallen humankind, from what position would He wish to save them?
God wishes to save humankind from the position of a parent. Herein too lies the reason God sets up the Messiah upon this earth and carries on the providence of salvation.
Therefore, what was it that Jesus had to equip before setting out on the three-year course of public ministry from Nazareth?
It was the position of a parent. It was to become Jesus, who is the Messiah. He is not a being who acts on behalf of the Messiah.
So you must know that he had to first equip the position of a parent. He had to become the true ancestor, the true parent, for humankind. But because he could not become the true parent, until today, the people born inheriting the lineage of false parents have not been able to form a bond with the True Parents and have never been loved by the True Parents.
Jesus, Who Had to First Find the Bride
Thus, the people born of a different flesh and blood—that is, people who have not passed through the flesh and blood of the True Parents—God cannot set up as direct children. Because the lineage that ought to face God has been bonded with a lineage God does not want, however much a human being strives and however much devotion he pours out, when he is saved and goes before God, he can become nothing but an adopted son, not a true son or daughter. It is a sorrowful tale.
Therefore, as recorded in Romans, we can only call God “Abba, Father” by the name of an adopted son. And even that we came to be able to call so through Jesus. Jesus already came to this earth and departed, but when the countless people of today are saved, the highest standard is nothing but the adopted son.
Then what is an adopted son?
An adopted son is a child of a different bloodline. Having lost the True Parents and formed a bond with false parents, unless the rootstock is cut off, one cannot become a true son.
So, after four thousand years of history had passed since the fall, Jesus came. To be reborn, one must, without fail, have parents. Without parents, one cannot bear a child. So God sent Jesus to this earth as the Messiah.
So what did Jesus have to do, coming?
To save the countless human beings living upon this earth, what did he have to do? He had to become the True Parents. For that, he had to find a bride. The twelve disciples were not the issue. He had first to find a bride.
But though he walked the first, second, and third courses, because Jesus could not find a bride, he had no choice but to set up in the position of children the twelve apostles. This content is not in the Bible.
To save humankind, to give birth to humankind anew, Jesus had to find a bride without fail. There had to be the Holy Spirit.
That is why Jesus said to Nicodemus,
“Unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” (John 3:3).
At this, Nicodemus said,
“How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” (John 3:4).
Then Jesus lamented,
“Are you the teacher of Israel, and yet you do not know these things?” (John 3:10).
Centered on Jesus and the Holy Spirit, humankind must be born again. Because Satan carried off all humankind, one must be born again, centered on God. Unless one is born again through the blood tie of the True Parents and cultivates a foundation of heart, one cannot stand before the heavenly order (천륜).
Therefore, Jesus had to cultivate the foundation according to principle—that is, the foundation of a parent. To become a parent, he had, before anything else, to find and set up a bride.
Finding the twelve disciples was not the purpose. But it became reversed. So, an effort several hundred times greater came to be needed.
Who is Jesus?
He is the latter Adam, who came in place of Adam. Therefore, he had to find the latter, Eve, the bride.
Only then could he find and set up again the lost position of parents, could he not?
Because what was lost must be found again, he had to find an object partner who could work together for the sake of God.
The Mission of the Bride
Man stands for heaven, and woman stands for the earth. Because Jesus came as the bridegroom in place of all men, he had to find a bride. But the Israelite people of Jesus’ day did not know Jesus’ will. The disciples, too, because they did not know this will, could not cooperate.
Originally, this had to be accomplished in the family of Joseph, but because it was not, Jesus could not become the True Parents. The family of Joseph, knowing the fact that God, at the end of carrying on the providence over four thousand years of history, had blessed their family, had to bear the whole responsibility of the age and fully carry out that responsibility. And it was Jesus’ mission to seek and accomplish God’s will through such a family of Joseph.
Therefore, Jesus pressed his parents three times over. But the parents, who did not know the will, in the end failed to realize Jesus’ will.
And so Jesus was betrayed by his home and came to lose his family. Jesus, having become so, had no choice but to make a family again and go on to accomplish God’s will. Here, when even the Israelite people disbelieved Jesus, Jesus, unable to unfold the will in the family of Joseph and the Judean nation, was driven and pursued by them. So God took Jesus away.
Jesus had to find a bride upon this earth, set up the bond of true parents, and set up the True Parents' Day before the world and before God. But what must the heart of Jesus have been like, who departed the world without accomplishing that will? Today, we must know that.
By the principle of restoration through indemnity, the parents must, without fail, appear.
If, at that time, Jesus had found a bride in the position of a maiden while he himself was in the position of an unmarried bridegroom, how good it would have been! But because Jesus came in a position that had not accomplished the stages of formation, growth, and completion that must be accomplished on the course of restoration through indemnity, he had to cross over all of these and cultivate a foundation of victory.
In order thus to equip a foundation of victory within and without, one must, passing through the reverse of the course by which the fall came about through Eve, first liquidate the sin.
For this, Jesus had to prepare a bridal chamber and find a bride.
Despite this, because he could not do it, Jesus offered a fasting prayer. That became God’s han (한) and became Jesus’ han.
Because saving humankind was his hope and purpose, Jesus, who died on the cross without accomplishing that will, must return.
Then, when Jesus returns, what must he do first?
It is not to meet the disciples. It is to find a bride. This bride is Christianity, which, in the position of a bride on behalf of all humankind today, has prepared, eagerly awaiting the coming of the bridegroom.
Because the Israelite people failed in their responsibility toward Jesus, the four-thousand-year history was prolonged by two thousand years, and one came again to walk a worldwide course of indemnity. Because this course too is a course of preparing a worldwide foundation of the bride, the Lord who comes again must find a bride.
Jesus came upon this earth as the latter Adam.
The Holy Spirit, too, coming upon this earth, could not take on the body (體) of a bride. When one goes to the spiritual world, the Holy Spirit is a mother spirit (神).
When Jesus equips a substantial body upon the earth, the bride, knowing all the content of the heavenly way—that is, fulfilling the qualification of a bride within the truth—must, as a bride, eagerly await the coming of the Messiah and prepare to welcome him. And so she must prepare one family, prepare one nation, and prepare the world. This is the responsibility the bride must carry out. That is why, upon entering the 1960s, a women’s movement is unfolding worldwide.
A woman must resolve what a man could not resolve.
However many people there are upon this earth, because they are all fallen descendants born inheriting a wicked lineage, a true woman who can love with a motherly love must appear.
The nearer the Last Days draw, the nearer comes the time when such a representative being can appear; that is why a worldwide women’s movement is unfolding.
So in advanced countries like America, cases arise where a woman slaps a man’s cheek. Now, many women can surpass men.
Because the end time is a time when a woman can restore what was fallen, now, in the end time, a woman is in a favored position where she can step forward representing the heavenly Eve.
The True Parents' Day Is the Day Humankind Desires
Now that women, along with liberation, have come to be able to stand in such a position, at such a time, a true mother must appear.
We must be able to attend to that mother upon the earth. Is it not so? Because humankind, greeting such a time, comes forth seeking God, a bride cannot but be set up upon the earth.
Without parents, there can be no children; without children, there can be no family; without a family, no kindred; without a kindred, no people; without a people, no nation; without a nation, no world.
Only when Adam and Eve attend to God, centered on God’s love—that is, the love of parents—can one at last find the world and all the people God made. But this mission was not accomplished in Adam’s family, nor in the family of Joseph.
Therefore, one must secure this again and, through God’s whole will, make a new world.
Through such an ideology, one must welcome the Messiah, but this world has split off into two ideologies, each centered on Cain and Abel. So, upon this earth, one must find and set up everything for the sake of the Messiah.
Can one love Jesus, who is a man, Jesus, who is the bridegroom?
Can men too love him? How can he become a bridegroom to men?
But the providence of salvation, to set all people before God by passing through the bond of bridegroom and bride, must be accomplished. Men and women alike must stand in the position of a bride before the Lord.
But not all such people become brides. Not all who run in a marathon can take first place. Everyone who merely runs is given the authority to be able to take first place, but only the one who crosses the finish line first at the end becomes the final victor.
Likewise, all alike have received permission to be able to become a bride, but if one is not chosen by God, one cannot become a bride. Only when one is chosen and appointed as a bride by God does one at last become a bride.
Then, whom does God come seeking among the countless bride-candidates? He comes seeking the one who attends the coming Lord. What is a bride? I find the word “bride” unpleasant.
The word “bride” is a word that came into being because of the fall. It arose because of the fall. Had there been no fall, the word “bride” would not be needed.
Then who is the coming Lord, and what does he come to do? To pull out one who has fallen into water, to save humankind from death, he comes seeking the mother of humankind.
Therefore, the Lord who comes again must come as the Father. Herein lies the reason the center of Christian thought is made to be love. What is the center of Jesus? It is love. Therefore, the Lord comes as the bridegroom who must form a bond with a bride.
What is the day that, through the fall, must be found again after six thousand years?
It is the day on which God accomplishes salvation and the day on which humankind finds the lost parents again. It is the day on which the saints find God and find their parents. From that day, humankind must live according to the law of Heaven.
As history has flowed on, there have been many events. Among them, when a national emergency arose under some wretched fate, how joyful a thing it would be if a leader who could love the nation from the position of a parent appeared, broke through that nation’s fate, and set up its sovereignty again!
There have been many days on which humankind thought it had won a victory. But there was no day for which all created things eagerly waited. The day on which humankind welcomes the True Parents—this day is the very day for which all created things eagerly wait.
Because humankind of today was born with the lineage of the fall, it is placed in a fate of having to groan eternally in an unhappy place. But human beings hold the hope that they can attend God upon this earth and enjoy happiness and glory.
Then what is the highest hope among such hopes?
It is precisely to greet the True Parents' Day. Without passing through True Parents' Day, one cannot go to the heavenly nation, nor can one go seeking God.
What is Christianity hoping for today?
It is hoped for the day of holding the marriage feast of the Lamb. But you must know well that the day they are hoping for is precisely the True Parents' Day.
The True Parents' Day exists for all humankind. But you, who ought to greet the True Parents' Day—when have you ever become an offering for the sake of the world’s humankind, for the sake of the people; and when have you ever struggled for the sake of Heaven?
Didn't all of you believe in Jesus for the sake of your success and comfort?
Did you not pray only for yourself?
Did you not make an offering (捐補) for your success and come to church to make your own sons and daughters live well? It is worth considering well.
Fallen Humanity, Which Needs the True Parents
Now this world needs God’s sons and daughters, who can, in the stead of God, liberate all people and make all people happy. Herein too lies the purpose for which Jesus came to this earth. The day heaven and earth desire is precisely the True Parents' Day.
Christianity is spread throughout the whole world today; what is the day they desire? It is the day of the marriage of the Lamb. And what day is that? It is the True Parents' Day.
You must know the fact that, even if one has already fully grown, one must be born again and welcome the parents.
Until now, when True Parents' Day has not been greeted, however well you believed, you could stand before God only as an adopted son. But you must know that when Jesus comes again, he comes as the Father, with the mission of the Father.
The countless races and peoples spread throughout the world celebrate many festivals, but until now, they have not celebrated the True Parents' Day. Yet, centered on 1960, upon this earth, in our Korea, the True Parents' Day was established. We must know that this day is a more joyful day than the day Korea was liberated, than any day at which the world could rejoice.
Such a True Parents' Day was set up through the multitude of the Unification Church, who are driven and pursued. What a thankful thing it is!
Without this day, one cannot resolve the han of the Cosmos (천주). Unless this day comes, one cannot uphold God’s will. Unless this day is set up, one cannot cultivate God’s foothold of victory upon this earth, the satanic world.
The day on which God decides the day of victory is this day, and the day on which the saints can be liberated is precisely this day.
You must know that the day on which the desire and ideology throughout the Cosmos become one is this day, and the day on which heaven and earth are opened anew is this day.
If the True Parents are on this earth today, those parents are not parents for some individual. Through those parents, all families can exist, and through those parents, the kindred, people, nation, and world come to be. Everything comes to be through the bond with the True Parents' Day.
Accordingly, one who has wholly taken possession of the True Parents is like one who has taken possession of the whole world and becomes a person who, like the sovereign of some nation, can take possession of and feel the glory of Heaven.
Therefore, True Parents' Day is a day that heaven and earth must praise and commemorate, and at the same time, a day that all people must never forget.
A New World Is Accomplished Through Love
Through the True Parents, the historical works Adam and Eve hoped for come to unfold, and, with the True Parents' Day as the occasion, the fallen world disappears, and a new world accomplished through love unfolds.
For that, one must seize away the worldwide domain that Satan, God’s traitor, has taken. What has, until now, borne responsibility for the fight to seize this away is religion. For this, religious people have cultivated the Way (도) and have prayed.
Because they had the Messiah, who came as the Father of humankind, die on the cross, the Father of humankind must come again. For this, religious people had to pray and had to cultivate the Way. And so one must attend to the Father of humankind, who comes again. Therefore, one must confront Satan, who holds the power of the air, and win a worldwide victory. Only then can one restore the world.
For that, a fight of good and evil cannot but unfold in this heaven and earth.
Herein too lies the reason that now, in the end time, centered on forty years or on a hundred and twenty years, tribulation, famine, and turbulent complications are occurring continuously throughout the whole world.
What we must know is the fact that the nearer the Last Days draw, the more all humankind becomes individualistic. This means the world is heading toward ruin.
And thereby it is becoming ever more materialistic. This attests that, centered on Satan, it is becoming materialistic.
The democratic world and the communist world think that, holding worldwide national authority and prestige, they will command the world forever and boast of that power, but it will not be so.
The worldwide current, taking 1960 as its point of departure, has come to appear in a form centered on the nation rather than a form centered on ideology (主義).
Worldwide, communism has split into national communism and ethnic communism. That is why the Soviet Union and Communist China came to fight.
Originally, upon this earth, the sovereignty of Adam centered on God, the eternal and everlasting sovereignty of Heaven, had to be set up. A world in which the whole, centered on God, harmonizes and moves as one had to be accomplished.
But that was not accomplished, and, in reverse, a sovereignty centered on Satan was set up. Therefore, on Satan’s side there is a nation and a people, but on God’s side there is no nation and no people. Everything has become reversed. So a fight to restore the original world must unfold.
Because no age, no environment, no society, and no nation ever welcomed God, Christianity has received bloody, tearful opposition and been persecuted.
So God’s strategy is to be struck and take back. Therefore, we too, who go the path of restoration today, must, being struck individually, being struck at the national level, and being struck at the worldwide level, return loyalty before God.
A Life of Good Centered on the True Parents
Adam and Eve abandoned God and turned away, but I must set up a worldwide conviction that, however great a storm may come, I will not betray God. That is, one must be able to restore the individual. And thereby one must restore everything lost through Satan—that is, the family, kindred, people, nation, and the whole world—to God’s side.
With the heart with which Jacob’s family longed for its hometown until it had recovered all the blessings of heaven and earth, or with the heart with which the Israelite people longed for the blessed land of Canaan, however trial and suffering may rage, one must, gritting one’s teeth, cross over until one accomplishes that purpose.
However much Christianity in days past equipped external things and cultivated a national, state, and worldwide foundation, that is nothing but a foundation as an adopted son. Can one be satisfied with the adopted son? One cannot.
All humankind must, in a position of being able to welcome the True Parents, centered on the love of the True Parents, equip the whole. Only then can one come to have the love of parents and the love of children.
For that, the brothers who receive the love of the True Parents must become one upon this earth and go on equipping everything.
Centered on the True Parents, one must be able to liquidate everything of the han-filled history. And thereby the peoples of all colors must praise the joy of welcoming the True Parents and, that mind bursting forth in love, remove the countless sufferings in this world. Only then can God at last rest.
Then who can do such work?
Only a people or nation that can greet the True Parents' Day can do it. If there is a land that can greet the True Parents' Day, that land will become a place that can save the world.
Greeting the True Parents' Day, sons and daughters who receive the love of the True Parents must appear, resolve the han-filled tales brought about through Adam and Eve, remove the realm of Satan, and restore the world of good.
For that, first, the language must be unified. The languages and lives of the world must be unified, and the culture too must be unified. Centered on the True Parents, one had to accomplish one ideology, one conviction, one life.
Upon such a foundation, life had to begin. Despite this, because there was no age and no people who lived such a unified life, upon entering this age today, a new foundation must be accomplished.
The Day God Rejoices, the Day Humankind Must Rejoice
Just as the fourth verse of the hymn “Warriors of Heaven” says, “the brilliant culture dawning in the East,” Korea, which is in the East, was not an aggressor nation. Nor was it a nation with a culture that tramples history.
The True Parents come, to the very end, with a true love that protects history and removes the aggressor. You must clearly know that it is the mission of religion to set up such a law from the beginning and contribute to humankind.
Such True Parents must come upon this earth and resolve the grievance of Cain and Abel centered on Adam and Eve. And thereby minds must arise in which brother embraces brother, brother stands in for brother, and one can step forth on the path of death for a friend.
Minds must appear that can befriend the world’s humankind with a spirit of philanthropy that would save all people. Only then is a new foundation of life accomplished.
Parents who can accomplish such work, centered on God’s will, must appear. Just as when a person is born, there is a day on which he is born, so, for such parents to appear, there must be a day on which that can happen. Today, too, we have gathered here for the sake of that day.
The True Parents' Day—this term is basic. But you must know the fact that within it there is an unspeakable, tear-stained tale until this day was greeted.
Though they are parents who can embrace all people, because they could not greet such a True Parents' Day, a historical han was knotted; so one must pray for that day.
You must know the fact that Jesus, on the path of death on the cross, died praying, “O, may that day of hope come quickly.”
Until today, Christianity has, in fact, walked a bloody, tearful path. Even in the moment of his dying, Jesus prayed before God, “Abba, Father! Let that day come, I pray.” He so desired that day on which he could remove Satan, God’s traitor, avenge the historical enemy, and restore the world of good.
That one day of hope is the True Parents' Day. That day is a day at which God rejoices beyond words, and a day at which humankind must rejoice beyond words.
But because one cannot grasp joy through experience without truly grasping sorrow through experience, God has, until today, driven the Unification Church along a path of adversity. He led it along a path of tears and suffering and drove it into mountain valleys or over steep and rugged peaks.
Until now, the multitudes who refused such a path have all fallen. But those who upheld that path with utmost care and walked on, seeking the land of their native home, those who lived knowing that it had to be this path and no other—God led them.
If one has walked such a path for ten years, one must know the fact that those ten years are ten years full of han, ten years that can sympathize together with the historical resolution of han, ten years like the ten years in which Jesus shed blood upon the cross. Because we have thus pushed through a hand-filled path of death and greeted this day today, God must rejoice, and humankind must rejoice. It is not joyful to go seeking a diamond. Such things must all be left behind and go.
Originally, centered on the bond of the True Parents, one must embrace true love.
Otherwise, however good the situation and environment, one cannot accomplish that kind of nation—a nation that has formed a bond with the True Parents centered on God, equipped with the eternal law of ten thousand generations.
That place is a foundation that stands in for God’s heart and a foundation of eternal life. The bond formed there continues eternally, from birth even until death. Without the True Parents, one cannot absolutely face God. Without the True Parents, one cannot set up the law of Heaven or the foundation of Heaven. Even after death, without the True Parents, one cannot face the law of Heaven.
Therefore, all humankind must go seeking the True Parents. Through the True Parents, one must begin a new life.
So it is with Christianity, and so it is with Buddhism. Confucianism, too, has retained the fortune of restoration by which it must go seeking the True Parents. You must know the fact that, worldwide, such a standard of purpose remains.
To Become a Filial Child
What is the difference between a dead person and a living person?
To be alive is to receive sunlight and, through that sunlight, to grow. It is the same with you yourselves.
The one whose mind grows glad as the time draws near is a living person, and the one who suffers as though his foundation of heart has withered and dried up and his freedom is bound is a dead person.
The more a parent holds a bond of the heart, the more he thinks of his children when a difficult thing befalls. Likewise, you good people, who have greeted this one day today for the sake of the three billion of humankind living upon this earth, who do not even know that morning has come, must pour out all your devotion.
The nearer the time draws for the hope to be accomplished, the more one must become a person who moves to die on the cross. As a multitude that follows the setting sun, one cannot play the part of a human being.
One must become a person who can greet the new day, facing the East where the morning sun rises, who can be the first to greet the rising sunlight. The person who can move following the rising sun is a true Unification member.
Today is the True Parents' Day.
If you would become filial children, you must know what kind of beings the parents are. Do you, in fact, know what kind of beings the parents are?
Have you ever considered whether you know it because you were taught or whether you truly know it?
You have come to the Unification Church and are going the path of a filial son and filial daughter. But you were babies who wet and soiled yourselves. You were babies who bit and sucked your mother’s breast. And you grew up receiving the love of your parents.
If there is a highest philosophy in this world, it would be the philosophy of parents. The point is that the philosophy of parents is the highest. Now you are not babies. You must all study. That is what the parents wish.
You were born through your mother’s womb, but you are adopted sons and adopted daughters.
So you must give loyalty to those parents. And when you thereby become parents, the Four Position Foundation is accomplished.
But by yourselves alone, you absolutely cannot have heavenly children. To have heavenly children, heavenly parents must, without fail, first appear. And for such parents to appear, the eldest son must first appear.
This is because, since Cain, who was the eldest son, betrayed the heavenly way, one must, tracing in reverse the course of Cain, who betrayed God, rise to the position of being able to stand in for God. And so one must accomplish the Four Position Foundation. Until that is done, you are all babies. Babies.
So, however outstanding a person and whatever else one may be in the world, one must have a heart like a baby’s. And thereby one must be born again through the mother’s womb and the father’s bone.
The seed of the baby is in the mother’s womb. It is in the father too, is it not? In the father, it is in the bone. Therefore, passing through the father’s bone and through the mother’s womb, the baby comes forth.
Then how is a baby made?
It is made through the father and mother. You must know that you were made through the father’s bone and the mother’s womb. History is interesting.
The Course of Restoration Through Indemnity Centered on Cain and Abel
Cain and Abel must, without fail, fight. That is why Esau and Jacob fought even while twins in the womb. Perez, too, fought with Zerah from within the womb.
This is because Satan must be separated from that point. From there, Satan must be kept from accusing.
Just as the figure on Cain’s side appeared first, communism appeared first. Only by appearing first can it be driven out. Only so does God’s side win the victory.
Originally, Jesus, from the time he was in the womb of his mother Mary, was to be such that Satan could not interfere. Because there was a period of growing and fighting from within Mary’s womb, it was so ordained that Satan could not accuse from within the womb.
Only when Satan cannot accuse can one become the Messiah. The Messiah has a historical foundation and also a standard of spirit and mind that grows within the womb. Therefore, the Messiah is originally such that, from the time of being a baby, Satan cannot accuse.
The Messiah, born in such a position, comes to walk the course of indemnity, but first, he must walk according to the law. You, too, today, to walk the course of indemnity, must likewise go seeking the law. Meeting the parents, one becomes a baby, and thereafter, one must go seeking the law of the father and mother.
But because that condition could not all be found, one must make a son in the womb an offering, set that son in an Abel-type position, and love him from a Cain-type position. Such a fight has continued, centered on the Teacher’s family, from 1960 until now.
Centered on the Four Position Foundation, if one brother eats barley rice, the remaining brothers must also eat barley rice, and if one brother suffers, all the remaining brothers must suffer. And thereby, with the True Parents' Day as the standard, one must walk the course of restoration through indemnity, passing through the reverse of the fallen course.
What goes such a path of restoration today is religion. Only when religion goes this path does the course of restoration through indemnity centered on the Four Position Foundation set out.
We who are religious people must here prepare a foundation to accomplish a worldwide foundation, to cultivate a worldwide foundation.
Even receiving the persecution of these people and receiving the persecution of humankind, we must fight on to prepare such a worldwide foundation.
Seen from this angle, you must know how joyful a thing it is to greet the True Parents' Day today, and you must consider it a great joy to take part in this. When have you ever set up and honored parents? When have you ever had parents you loved?
In the restoration through the indemnity of Cain and Abel, the one who appeared first is Cain, and the one who appeared later is Abel. Therefore, according to the law of Heaven, one must restore the birthright of the eldest son through Abel.
You, in the position of the baby who appeared first before the parents, must offer, before the baby who appears later, a loyalty that represents everything under heaven. Can you do so? Only by doing so can one accomplish restoration through indemnity.
Adam and Eve were carried off by Satan through their fall. But in the case of Cain and Abel, according to the law of indemnity, one had to subdue Cain, who appeared first and was on Satan’s side, before Abel, who was on Heaven’s side, and offer him up before God. But because they too fell, to restore this today, you must love and uphold the baby who appears later. Only then can one attend to the parents.
The Blessed Families must hereafter attend to the sons and daughters of the Lord with all devotion. Only when a standard on which one can attend them is set up can you resolve the han of Jesus through restoration through indemnity.
It Must Become a True Parents' Day on Which the Cosmos Is in Harmony
Because the First Israel, which appeared first, failed in its responsibility, Jesus died, and the Second Israel comes to receive that indemnity. According to restoration through indemnity, you are the Second Israel. Therefore, you must stand upon the standard of the departure of the Second Israel and attend the Messiah.
That the Teacher came to make a new start in the han-filled land of Korea too is because the history of restoration is so. To do this work, one could not set out from a comfortable place. Even though thirty million opposed, breaking through that, from twenty years ago, the Teacher has walked this path.
That our church has come forth today is by no means an accidental thing. You must know the fact that our church came forth entirely on the foundation of the heavenly order. Seen from this standpoint, you are the workers who cultivate the foundation for attending God. You are the fighters to bring the heavenly mission to a conclusion.
How must the True Parents' Day be?
The True Parents' Day is by no means a day only for the Unification Church. Nor can one be satisfied with a True Parents' Day for the sake of Korea.
A True Parents' Day for the sake of the world?
Even with that, its meaning cannot be fully served. It must become one day on which heaven and earth, the whole Cosmos, can harmonize, a day on which the whole universe can rejoice together with God.
Our fight remains. Because the enemies remain, a plan of indemnity to bring them all down must first be set up. Therefore, for us, there can be no individual True Parents' Day.
We have fought to develop the individual True Parents' Day and set up a kindred True Parents' Day, and we have fought to develop the kindred True Parents' Day and set up a national True Parents' Day.
We must set up the national True Parents' Day as a state True Parents' Day, the state True Parents' Day as a worldwide True Parents' Day, and the worldwide True Parents' Day as a Cosmos-level True Parents' Day. Therefore, the fight we must wage remains before us. You must know that there remains a path to go centered on the seven-year crisis—that is, a path toward the world stage.
Then what will become of the world hereafter?
Worldwide, communism is falling into national communism, and national communism into ethnic communism. What was originally one keeps splitting apart.
So it has been divided into Cain-type and Abel-type nations, and hereafter a fight among the Cain-type—the communists—will unfold. When that happens, on Satan’s side an absolute individualism will unfold, and on God’s side world-ism will be cried out, so that in the end they will bind together into one.
That is, in the world of Heaven’s side thus set up, the age of an -ism draws near in which one can, saying, “This world is my world, this nation is my nation, this humankind is my humankind,” possess what belongs to the whole.
Can you understand what this means?
Only so can one, tracing in reverse the course, recover what was lost to Satan. It means that one comes to seek back, in reverse order, from the individual through the kindred, people, and world by which the satanic world was formed. So one must prepare worldwide things and fight and win against the satanic world.
Then, when did this set out?
It began in 1960. From that time, Communist China and the Soviet Union began to split apart and became a matter of world concern.
Today, our ideology surpasses the ideology of communism. Accordingly, with this, one must decide the victory or defeat of this ideological world. Such a thing begins with one person. Centered on one person, the kindred, people, nation, and world must be restored.
You must advance to the stage of bringing the national to conclusion as the state. Now is a time when the question is what to do with the thirty million people. It is a time to unite as one, centered on the mission of the age.
To Stand as One True Human Being
The people of the world, placed in a chaotic age, plunge ever more into darkness as the days go by. When one meets such a worldwide time of chaos, one must, with a new power, lead these people and unite them.
With what can one lead and unite them?
One must do it with the Christian thing. One cannot do it even with some Western aspects of daily life. This work we must do. Is it so, or not? You have no confidence, it seems. You must know this historical fact.
The Unification Church is now preparing for that. A time will come when even the American people long for the Unification Church. When that time comes, how good it will be! The point is that a time when it can be so is coming.
Considering these things, the Teacher always prepared in advance. Now the time for ruling the family members has already passed. The question is how to deal with those who oppose. The Teacher, considering these things, sometimes wonders whether the people who once persecuted me are still alive.
We cannot help but hold the hearts of parents. Because we came to know the parents, know the parents’ desire, and know the True Parents' Day, we cannot but go forth holding the heart of parents.
To set up the True Parents' Day, many people died on this one day. And to set up this one day, they loved and praised God.
If human beings were thus, how greatly must God have waited for this day! The victorious sons and daughters who have greeted this day can become God’s heirs. Such people can inherit not only God but even the love that dwells within God’s bosom.
Because what is called the fall was originally brought about through Satan’s love, God too cannot move in a place where Satan’s love is. But because the Unification Church is removing that and enabling God’s love to move, how joyful a thing it is!
Despite this, in the world, they speak of the Unification Church as this or that, as they please. It is a truly regrettable thing. But wait and see. A time will come when they know that our words are the truth.
Jesus threw away his life to go the way of Heaven. That was, in the end, as though God trod upon His own son and crossed over. Can you do so too? In fact, you too can do so.
How were you born into this world?
Who bore you? One must not think of this in a worldly way. You must clearly understand what the Way (道) came to be and why the Unification Church came to be. And thereby you must become people who give full loyalty before God and, at the last, can be welcomed by God. In other words, you must become people who can welcome the True Parents.
Jesus once said, “No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). There is a fitting reason he spoke such words.
Then what does the word “through” mean?
It means that one must pass through a gate. Through what gate must one pass? One must pass through Jesus’ gate, must pass through the mother’s gate, and after that must pass through the gate of the siblings. You must know that only then can one have the authority to subdue Satan.
Through the fall of Adam and Eve, the human being lost the True Parents and lost God. And because Cain killed Abel, they lost even the sibling, so that human beings became unable to go before God. Therefore, fallen human beings must seek God, must seek the parents, and must seek Abel.
What kind of Abel must one seek?
The Abel beaten to death by Cain will not do. One must seek the Abel who lived, fought Satan, and won. Only then can one stand as the son of one family, and only then can one become a son or daughter who holds the authority of judgment, in the stead of God’s power to judge evil and good.
Have you found God? Have you found the parents?
Have you stood in the position of a true son or daughter? For that, the true parents centered on God must appear before you. Only then can you find and set up your true self.
The Meaning of the Blessing
What meaning does the Blessed Family, which has entered the realm of the Blessing, contain?
It means that only by receiving the Blessing of the Unification Church can one enter the position of a true son or daughter. Can you understand what this means? It means that one must equip a vertical bond with God. For that, parents who hold God’s love must appear.
First, one must pass through such parents, and thereafter, one must pass through the family members the parents love. When the time comes hereafter, everything will be carried out according to the Principle and its principles. Such a time will without fail come.
You must know the power of the parents. Before knowing the siblings, you must know the parents. Thereafter, you must love the younger sibling. This is because the younger sibling becomes Abel. At the same time, you must face all Abel-type people with joy.
Thus, centered on the brothers and centered on the Unification Church, you must break through all difficult things for the sake of God’s will. The people of the world do not know much about the Heavenly Parent. Before long, a time will come when this must be made clear.
Seen from the standpoint of the Principle and its principles, this world today is not simple. This world is a world that must be restored.
Originally, a cultural world had to be accomplished, beginning from a bond formed with the Heavenly Parent. But until now, everything has come to be accomplished centered on Satan.
It was the history of the original creation that, first setting out centered on Adam and Eve, it was to develop worldwide; but because that was not accomplished, one must fight on the course of restoration through indemnity. So we must go walking the seven-year course, fighting with heart.
We can feel joy in greeting the True Parents' Day, and in the place where we feel joy, we must have a standard on which we can be born again. Moreover, True Parents' Day is also a day on which the day of children’s birth is proclaimed before heaven and earth.
God created Adam and Eve as children and blessed them to be able to have dominion over all things. You too, because you are following the course of restoration by such a bond of heart, must, after standing in a position of being able to face the parents, become children in a position of receiving the blessing to be able to have dominion over all things.
Thus, True Parents' Day is a truly deeply meaningful day. Because the True Parents' Day is set up, the True Children's Day comes to be, and because there is the True Children's Day, the Day of All True Things comes to be. With True Parents' Day as the standard, the three great days can come forth.
Let Us Find and Set Up Even the Day of God
Then what day must there be next? There must be the Day of God. Having greeted the True Parents' Day, one must now go seeking the Day of God. Had Adam not fallen, the Day of God would have been set up from that time, together with the True Parents' Day.
In that case, all human beings could have received God’s heart as the heart of parents. In the satanic world, one can possess God’s heart in the manner of “what is yours is also mine.”
In communism, they say, “What is yours is also mine.” But God says, “What is mine is also yours.”
Therefore, had Adam and Eve become one centered on God and the True Parents' Day been set up from Adam, that day would truly have been a day at which all under heaven rejoiced, a day on which the hope of all things and all forms under heaven was accomplished.
Originally, attending God, one must set up the True Parents' Day and the Day of All True Things. But because the human being fell, one became unable to have such glorious heavenly days.
Now a day must come on which it can be said that God’s will is accomplished in heaven and on earth. The day must come on which one can cut off the handheld cord of history and set out on a new history. And thereby one must greet the day on which God, raising both hands, can say, “What is mine is yours, and what is yours is mine.” Only then can one be restored to the heavenly realm.
Today, humankind must fight for that; who will bear the responsibility of this fight?
You, the members of the Unification Church, must bear it. Then, with what will you fight? You must fight with the blood, sweat, and tears that can love with a warm heart. Only then can one win the victory.
From such a place, let us fight one more year hereafter. For one year, let us pour out all our strength to remove the power of evil that is spread thick over this nation and these people.
Today, let us resolve this once again and pour out all our devotion so that we may greet the day of joy of heaven and earth, on which God can bless us forever.
Only then can the whole be accomplished so that we can return the glory of victory to God, and you can inherit that glory.
