Complete Restoration

Former Headquarters Church.

Complete Restoration is what everyone who lives upon this earth hopes for. It is also the longing that God, who carries out the providence toward this earth, has desired until now.

God’s Providence of Salvation

Today, it is utterly impossible for each one, born as a fallen descendant, to completely restore himself of his own accord. Why? Because he fell.

That God, looking with mercy upon the human being who, having fallen and dropped to Satan’s side, could not become even Satan’s servant, has the human being set up a foundation on which he can face God, and, after setting him in the position of the servant of a servant on Heaven’s side, raises the one who is loyal there up to the position of servant. And from that servant’s position, He again, passing through the position of the adopted child, brings him to the stage of being grafted onto the direct son. To be grafted means to be changed over; it means the adopted child comes to be in the position of the direct child.

One who is in the position of the younger son, only after he judges Satan’s authority from the position of the elder son, comes at last to be changed over into the position of the elder son. Such a play of grafting unfolds.

Looking at the form of history’s first departure, because the satanic world set out first, it is in the same position as the elder son born first.

In other words, until Jesus came, because the humanity of this world was the descendants of fallen Adam, all these descendants of Adam are in the same position as Jesus’ elder brother.

What kind of elder brother?

An elder brother in the position of an adopted child. Seen thus, who is it that, for the first time since history began, came into this Heaven and earth bearing the responsibility of the direct son centered on God? It is Jesus.

Yet, measured by the standard of unfallen Adam, Jesus is the second Adam. The established churches today do not know this. Originally, had Adam not fallen, he would have become the son of God.

The second Adam is not our fallen ancestor of humanity. Had Adam not fallen but completed the purpose in place of God, then, as the son of God, centered on all of God’s authority and the whole ideal of Heaven, by setting up the family law of the household of Heaven (家系), this Heaven and earth would have set out in accord with heavenly law. But because Adam fell, everything was shattered.

God lost the day of hope on which He sought to accomplish the Will through Adam and lost the hoped-for individual, family, clan, people, nation, world, and even the Cosmos. Therefore, this world became, through Satan, an evil world—that is, a world opposite to the world God sought to establish.

God removes such a world and comes forth, restoring it to the world He sought to establish; this is the history of salvation.

This history cannot all be restored at once. Because this band of evil has formed the shapes of individual, family, clan, people, nation, and world, God cannot simply seize it back. Here, there are many tangled twists, and because at each twist there are many knotted stories, without loosening this in reverse, it cannot be restored. This is the same with the principle of the world.

When you loosen something like tangled silk thread, what happens if you yank hard at the end?

The more you yank, the more tangled it becomes. Therefore, to save this world and Cosmos, which have such a tangled history, one must loosen those knotted twists in reverse.

Since one must loosen such a history, one cannot keep up with the way the world goes. Because the world lives for its satisfaction and pleasure, one cannot but walk the course opposite to that which such a world walks. This movement is precisely the providence of salvation.

Within the providence of salvation, there are various forms. Since countless peoples on the earth each have a different cultural background, historical background, traditional background, and environmental background, Heaven carries out the long course of history with content that can adapt to each.

The Tangled History

For this work, God chose and set up patriots, ideological leaders, and religious leaders who stood in place of countless peoples, and, driving them out, came forth, loosening the tangled history.

In loosening this, one must loosen it in order—passing through the individual to the clan, the people, the nation.

God, carrying out the providence in such a normal course, greeted the age of the end of history and, only after the four thousand years of history since Adam had passed, at last sent Jesus, the Messiah, as the comprehensive responsible one. Yet Jesus could not fulfill the mission of loosening what was tangled upon the earth.

And so Jesus said,

“I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now” (John 16:12),

and departed, unable to pour out his convictions and all his inner circumstances to anyone upon this earth, leaving them buried in his heart.

But without loosening this knotted world, the purpose of the providence of salvation—that is, the purpose for which God carries out the providence—cannot be accomplished. That is why the conclusion comes that the Messiah must come again.

You understand why the Messiah must come again, do you not?

When we look at the present world, which boasts of twentieth-century civilization, how tangled it is! Though America and the Soviet Union, quarreling, each in their own way, assert communism or democracy to solve international problems, there is no way to solve them.

Looking at this manifested result, it seems to have come about through human beings upon this earth, but entering into its content, we find that, unbeknownst to us, God and Satan are knotted behind it.

We cannot know it, but because the spiritual world and the physical world are bound together, what is knotted behind us has appeared as a complicated result.

Therefore, to loosen that result, one must expose it all and pioneer a road that can settle even the cause. Even though it is the countless denominations or sects scattered throughout the present world that ought to fulfill such a mission, the actual situation is that not even many of them regard this as their field of mission.

Then what is the Unification Church a place for?

It is precisely a place to loosen this. Without loosening this, one cannot restore. How shall one loosen it? To achieve Complete Restoration, one must loosen it completely.

Jesus, Who Came to Loosen What Was Knotted

In our external relations, if there is a feeling knotted between individuals, when the individuals meet, it can be resolved.

If one person did wrong, one must take hold of that person, whether by throwing fists or however, and the two must meet and loosen it forehead to forehead.

Meeting each other, one must loosen it. And if there is something knotted in a family, the whole family must gather and obtain the consent of all. Is it not so?

What is knotted in a family cannot be loosened by the father or mother alone. If there is a son who says, “Since I am the eldest of the house, everything must go my way,” that will not do.

If there is something knotted in a family, the family must, without fail, come together and loosen it. And if there is something knotted in a people, the people must come together and loosen it; if something is knotted in a nation, the nation must come together and loosen it; if something is knotted in the world, the world must come together and loosen it. Do you understand clearly? (Yes.) Thus, the larger the scope, the more complicated it becomes.

The history of restoration is likewise. There can be no exception. Some person may think, “Since Jesus is the son of the almighty God, there is nothing he cannot do, and he can do as he pleases; so could he not just come alone and loosen what is knotted worldwide?” By no means; that is contrary to reason.

For the one who comes as the Messiah to loosen the twists knotted in the world, such an environment must be prepared. The foundation prepared through four thousand years of toil to loosen this was Israel.

Yet because they could not loosen it, the causal responsibility lies with the Jewish religious body, which ideologically led the nation of Israel, and the resultant responsibility lies with the Jewish nation.

In the evil world, since countless people hold the sovereignty of an evil nation and are equipped with a national foundation, to loosen this national foundation, there is a need, centered on one people that can face it, to be equipped inwardly with an ideological foundation and outwardly with a national form. This is absolute.

From this vantage point, though Jesus was born as the Messiah, he could not do as he pleased. In loosening all that was knotted in the evil world, he was equipped with the qualification to meet and loosen it individually.

But Jesus had no foundation on which to meet and loosen it at the family level, no foundation on which to meet and loosen it at the level of a religious body, and no foundation on which to loosen it facing a people and a nation.

For Jesus, in a position without such a foundation, to accomplish the longing and purpose of loosening what was knotted in the world was absolutely impossible.

The purpose for which Jesus came to this earth was to loosen all the bonds knotted in the world and make a smooth world and also to pioneer the course of humanity and completely restore and liberate all people.

Yet because this was not cooperated with, it was not accomplished; and with whom lay the responsibility to have cooperated to achieve that purpose? It lay neither with God nor with Jesus.

First, it lay with Judaism, second with the nation of Israel, and third with the Roman Empire.

The Heart of the Disbelieved Jesus and His Han

When one quietly watches believers these days, they pray, “God, forgive my sins, forgive the sins of my family, forgive the sins of the people and the world,” but such a prayer absolutely does not get through. How many prayers did our countless ancestors, who came and went until now, offer?

They must have prayed so continually for thousands of years; why then could God not accomplish it?

For God to forgive the world, there must be a foundation on which God can face the world. And to forgive a family, the owner of the family must stand in a position where he can be invited before God.

Therefore, if we are to pray, what kind of prayer must we offer?

Though Jesus won victory in Satan’s three great temptations, because he was invaded within the sphere of Satan’s invasion and was resurrected only spiritually and went before the Father with that authority, the limit of our salvation is only to the degree that we can be resurrected spiritually from the sphere of the satanic world—that is, from the sphere of death.

You must know this clearly. Despite this, many people believe that Jesus completely restored us. But you must know that even the mission of Jesus as manifested in the Bible pertains only to that field. Therefore, the rest must be accomplished by Jesus' coming again.

Without winning individual victory, one cannot advance toward the stage of the family; without settling family victory, one cannot advance toward the stage of the clan; without settling clan victory, one cannot advance to the stage of the people; and without settling the victory of the people, one cannot advance to the stage of the nation. And without equipping the foundation of national victory, one cannot advance even to the stage of the world.

Jesus had received the absolute heavenly mandate to pass through such stages, yet he could not walk that road; how agonizing must the heart of Jesus have been, who could not fulfill the responsibility entrusted to him?

Jesus had nowhere to go even if he wished. Driven and pursued, yet bearing Heaven’s Will in his heart and having to go bearing the responsibility to accomplish the providence of restoration—Jesus, on that road too, having no place to lay his body, prayed and pleaded before God in secret places on the shore of the Sea of Galilee or in the Garden of Gethsemane; how forlorn must that heart have been? Do you not think so? Those bunglers who, without even such a thought, merely say, “Believe and be saved,” ought to reflect.

Can it do for people who, believing in the bridegroom Jesus, say they will become his bride, not to know even what the bridegroom is doing, and, not knowing whether he comes riding a horse, or riding a cloud, or from beneath the earth, to unconditionally say, “Our bridegroom comes riding a cloud”?

When the bridegroom comes, one must think of what one will offer him, and, as a bride, one must equip oneself as a victorious individual who can greet him and go together with him for the common purpose.

One who makes no such preparation and merely wishes for his gladness ought to be expelled from this earth. When we think of such things, our Unification Church members have no time to rest.

Jesus’ han is that, though he wished to, he could not face a true individual. Though Jesus, when he came to this earth, came with the authority to rule the nation of Israel, rule the Roman Empire, and rule the world with his bare hands, he had to shrink his body before the blame and derision of the people of Israel and of Judaism and had to fall to the spears and swords of Rome.

Driven out by the nation, driven out by the church, unwelcomed even by his family, and even disbelieved by his disciples, Jesus, having nowhere to go, could not but bear the cross. Not knowing this pitiable and grievous circumstance, many people believe that Jesus died to wash away their sins. It would be good if believing so worked, but it does not work.

If it worked, why would people like us do this work for which we are blamed and pointed at?

As One Sows, So Shall One Reap

We must raise high the banner of revolution and, going beyond the three-thousand-ri peninsula, discuss global problems.

We must prepare for that.

If an iron hammer will not do, then with a greater hammer; if cutting with a sword does not cut, then by making a greater sword—what must be struck, we must strike, and what must be cut, we must cut.

The throng that has set out for this work—that is, the throng that has set out with Complete Restoration as its goal—is the Unification believers.

When one goes forth to save the world, if the family is the enemy, one must trample the family and cross over; if the nation is the enemy, one must trample the nation and cross over.

One must appear with absolute fidelity and authority, such that whenever anyone fails to take a relative stance toward this Will of restoration, one cannot respond to him.

The Teacher respects a Messiah who, bearing the cross and walking that hard crisis road of death on the height of Golgotha, has such zeal to endure and to restore—not a Messiah who sheds blood and dies to atone for sins.

Such a Messiah is not needed. Such a Messiah is a passing Messiah, not the Messiah who comes again. The throng of unification must go forth with such a heart.

For Jesus to fulfill the mission of the Messiah, who must bring complete salvation, complete apostles were needed. Looking at Jesus’ twelve disciples, who were fishermen or tax collectors, they were far too immature people. The Teacher has at times met them spiritually, and the twelve apostles are far too poor.

So they betrayed and sold Jesus. Jesus, in such a position, was instead witnessed to by a robber. Though Jesus gave devotion and toiled to fulfill his mission in the three-year public course, when, because the disciples disbelieved, he came to walk the road of death, by the sudden witness of one robber on the right, there came a grace of salvation on the road of death.

So Christianity seeks the grace of salvation on the road of death, and those said to believe well have come forth choosing the road of death.

Jesus sought one person whom he could completely save, but did not meet him. Jesus, who did not meet such an individual, came to be unable to meet—not to speak of such a family—such a clan, people, nation, world, and even Cosmos.

All these should have appeared before his hope and met him and attended to him together with Heaven. But the ideals of all the nations and the world that should have done so were swallowed into the darkness below the horizon in view. Satan drove Jesus out of this world and has ruled this world until now. Therefore, this must be dealt with once again.

Because countless Christians go to indemnify the sin against Jesus, who died wrongfully, and to make recompense for it, they come to be placed in a wronged position everywhere they go.

Individual arrows, spears, and swords come down upon them wrongfully, and family, clan, national, and worldwide arrows pour upon them. Why is that? It is because of the sin of killing Jesus. There is the saying that as one sows, so shall one reap. What was sown is all reaped when the Last Days come.

Jesus wished to restore an individual and bring complete salvation, but could not; how sorrowful must his heart have been?

Then, having restored an individual, what did he wish to do? He wished, by restoring an individual, to build a family. That is why he said, “I am the bridegroom, and you are the bride,” yet he had to go, unable to build a family, leaving only the promise that he would come again.

Jesus wished to find a single bride in the world. But first, there must be a complete man who can wholly rear the bride. This will be understood if one hears the Principle of Restoration.

Because the archangel tempted and made Adam and Eve fall, to restore this, one must pass through the reverse course. Because the archangel lured Eve and made her fall, to restore this one must, from a position like the archangel’s, protect and rear the bride and adorn her as a bride equipped with an individual character that can stand in place of Jesus’ ideal and have her appear before Jesus. But because this could not be done, the history of restoration has been carried on until now over the long two thousand years, making human beings shed much blood.

The Principle of Indemnity

Now is an age divided in half between the world that has come forth centered on Jesus’ ideal and the world that has not.

The nation to which Jesus will come hereafter must be a nation equipped with a form like that of the Jewish nation under the old Roman Empire.

That is why Jesus absolutely will not come to an advanced nation like America. Only when a form on this earth in which restoration through indemnity can be done is equipped can Jesus come again and restore.

Then what must be prepared upon this earth before the Lord comes?

Because the Lord comes to restore the individual completely, family, clan, people, nation, world, and Cosmos, God has been preparing until now a foundation on which he can do the work of restoration.

Just as before Jesus came, the nation of Israel was set up centered on Judaism, so today, upon this earth, a democratic world centered on Christianity must be made. Thus, outwardly it must be democracy and inwardly a world of Christianity.

Therefore, Christianity must not remain divided. This worldwide end-time form must be unified into one. These days, one sees that, centered on the Vatican palace, a spirit is arising worldwide to transcend sects and denominations and unify them, calling it a unification movement or the like. Seen providentially, this is an inevitable fact.

Thus, since the outer standard and the inner standard have been prepared, the Messiah, who must go toward a worldwide ideal, comes. For that one who comes, God sacrificed countless offerings over six thousand years.

In other words, He came forth sacrificing and indemnifying tens of millions of offerings—individual offerings, family offerings, national offerings, and state offerings.

And thereby a worldwide form was equipped, but the present world is divided into the communist world, built centered on the materialist view of history of the great enemy Satan, and the democratic world, built centered on the idealist view of history.

Seeing such things, though human beings until now did not know it, we must not forget how great was the anguish of God, who carried out the providence to accomplish the Will.

Looking at all the present worldwide conditions, does this democracy indeed stand in a position to welcome the coming Lord with both hands raised?

And do Christianity, divided into countless denominations, and the countless religions, possess a foundation of faith on which they can all alike welcome the Lord when he comes? That is the problem. It is only that the form has grown to a worldwide form; the position is the same as of old.

Among the many denominations, there must be a denomination that steps forth, saying it will bear responsibility from a position like that of the true twelve apostles. And among other religions besides Christianity, there must be sects that step forth pledging loyalty from a position like the robber on the right. Christianity cannot claim that it alone can greet Jesus, that it alone is the religion that can greet Jesus as bridegroom.

When the Lord was born, who first knew and came and bowed before him?

The Magi from the East. What sort of people were the Magi? Fortune-tellers. They were not even Jews. Such a thing can happen even now. It is Christians who most fail to know this.

The gentile religions know how to sense the fortune of the age and heavenly fortune, but Christians, not knowing whether it is night or day, only doze blankly. Because yesterday is like today and today is like yesterday, they think there are only sunny days, not knowing that there are also days of thunderbolts.

They do not know that someday a typhoon may suddenly blow in and sweep away, root and branch, their house and their belongings.

Can they know when and how they will fare?

That is why it was said that in the Last Days only the wise can live, so go into your inner room, anoint your head with oil, and pray.

Complete Restoration Begins from the Individual

Then what has the Unification Church come forth to do today?

It has come forth to bind together this nation and the world. It has been working on this problem at stake.

If the nearly one billion Christians now scattered throughout the world would only open their doors and meet and converse with the Unification believers, the Teacher has the confidence to bind them together within three years.

However large a church may be, one strike and it splits apart. Let only this nation and the democracy of the world open their doors. Then it can be done simply. We are unfolding a battle to bind these together.

The course you are walking differs from the course of old, when Jesus, in his public course, fought in place of the people. The age and environment have changed. That was a national age, but now it is a worldwide age. And because now is an age of free democracy, there is freedom of speech and assembly everywhere.

We have entered a sphere of the age in which one can assert an ideal. It is not an age like the one in which Jesus lived, when a single wrong word got one killed. We have entered an age in which even a president, when he does wrong, cannot budge if he is criticized because of principle.

Whoever makes a new religion, whatever one does, it is different from the old. That is why, if the Lord who comes again were to come riding a cloud with the trumpet sound of angels, the world might be overturned all at once and all might submit before him; but if he does not come so, there is a problem. Would it do for him to come so?

If he came so, why would God have waited six thousand years?

Complete Restoration begins with the individual. If this individual is not completely restored, the family cannot be completely restored. And if the family is not completely restored, the clan cannot be completely restored; if the clan is not completely restored, the people cannot be completely restored; if the people are not completely restored, the nation cannot be completely restored; if the nation is not completely restored, the world cannot be completely restored.

Then what would come of it if Jesus came riding a cloud? If it could be done by his coming, why would he have waited six thousand years? Probably, had he meant to come so, he would already have come.

Jesus Does Not Come Riding on Clouds

When a person sets up fidelity and a Will, what is it that God, seeing the fidelity and Will he has set up, can find worth remembering, worth believing, worth cooperating with?

One must not merely wait, hoping the Lord will come automatically. We must pave the road so that the Lord can come. If for six thousand years one only prays, “Lord, come,” one cannot meet the Lord.

The responsibility of the Unification Church is to bind the world into one. Yet when one quietly watches the Unification believers these days, some people keep watch, thinking, “It will get done even without me.”

Such a person is worse than a robber. Such a person is the same as one who, when a robber goes off having robbed, if there is a hole in the purse, follows behind to pick up and eat the lump of gold that will drop out of it.

Such a person is worse than a robber. Such a person is worse than one who has fought, swinging his fists to fill his desire.

Such a person is like an ox that plants itself firmly on the bank of a stream and watches a school of minnows.

How base must one be to do so?

There must be no Unification Church members of this ox-like kind. Whoever says he is not such a person, raise your hand once.

If the Lord comes riding in a cloud when he comes, he will surely fail. When pastors come out in fine gowns and preach, it seems holy, but there is nothing inside.

So do not boast that one is a pastor, or a pastor’s child, or an elder brother. Is everything absolute predestination and a settled fact?

If there were people predestined for salvation and people not, then such a thing would occur as God telling some person, “You are predestined to go to hell, so do not come to heaven,” and telling another, “You are predestined to go to heaven, so come, though you cannot.” Within such a limited sphere, such a thing would occur. But God’s salvation is worldwide. That is what is predestined.

Even the sons and daughters of a loyal subject, if they try to do as they please, God drags them out. Such a person, because he is a child of sin, must receive punishment. But after all is indemnified, it is different.

However great a sin a person has committed, if there is one who steps forth to bear all the sins of the world in another’s stead, he has the prospect of being able to return before God. Do you understand? (Yes.)

However great a national sin one has committed, one who strikes down a worldwide traitor or murderer can, in a worldwide age, have his national sin forgiven. Salvation is set to be received in that way.

So the predestination that Christianity asserts is trifling and slack beyond compare.

In fact, the Teacher’s view is that he would like to keep the Unification believers from even meeting such people face to face. But can that be?

Now they stand in a relative position to such people, but once one pass is crossed, the Teacher must take responsibility for them too; and because if one does wrong now, one must bear responsibility when that time comes, one endures and goes on, though wronged and indignant. That is the fact.

The Responsibility of the Unification Church

A person who does not know the content of God’s salvation, even when he prays, merely asks that his sons and daughters prosper and that his house prosper; but if everyone prays only so, God will become a beggar. Would it not be so?

Would it do to seize away all the blessings that are with God and say that grievance and nakedness and starvation are all God’s? Rather than that, when one says, “God, my blessing is the Father’s,” one must equip the bond by which God can say, “Yes, your blessing is Mine.”

Only then can one become God’s child. Then that blessing becomes both the Father’s and the Son’s. Yet there is not one person who can pray for this eternal world from such a position.

So God sent the Messiah to form such an inner bond. And He sought to seek the individual through the Messiah, the family through the Messiah, the clan through the Messiah, the people through the Messiah, the Israel through the Messiah, and lay a worldwide bridge. But Israel was shattered. Because the standard, which should have built the hoped-for nation of Israel and strode forth toward the world, stepped backward into the world of death, they were driven out as a throng that betrayed God.

The people of Israel, until they could completely recover this, until the time when the piercing heart of Jesus was loosened, did not attain liberation and independence.

So the people of Israel suffered wretchedly for two thousand years as a people without a nation. That they have nevertheless remained until today is because of God’s love.

Though the people of Israel were once Jesus’ enemy and made a great, irreversible mistake, now, because a worldwide age has come, He has forgiven them.

Therefore, the fact that the nation of Israel came to be able to gain independence is proof that we have entered a worldwide age of Heaven’s Will. Do you understand this? (Yes.)

From this vantage point, the responsibility of the Unification Church is immense. The Unification Church must achieve Complete Restoration.

For Jesus to achieve Complete Restoration, he had to come again as the historically responsible one for Complete Restoration. To be acknowledged in that age, he had to be acknowledged by historical loyal subjects and virtuous women or by the meritorious ones of the heavenly nation.

So Jesus had to accumulate historical merit and lay a capital and foundation by which he could be historically witnessed to. One who does not know this, however much he believes in Jesus, is not one who believes rightly.

Then why do you believe Jesus is the Messiah?

Some may say, “Well, it is a story I heard from the pastor, and it appears so in the Bible, so I believe so; how would I know? Since they say so, I take it to be so.” Why is Jesus the Lord of all things? Jesus said, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” and in a way that seems a very arbitrary saying.

If so, what makes Jesus different from Confucius or Shakyamuni?

And how arrogant Christians are, saying one is saved only by believing in Jesus! They say no gentile can be saved at all. But that is a saying spoken in utter ignorance.

The Forlornness of Fallen Human Beings and God’s Reproach

Jesus, in terms of bloodline, is entirely different from fallen human beings. You must know this.

Jesus, seizing God with a firm grip, came forth, setting up, without fail, upon the course of history, the law of indemnity centered on the historical bloodline. Upon such a foundation, Jesus passed his life.

You know about the Fall, do you not?

You married women know about the Fall, do you not? (Yes.) How much do you know? Do you know it as much as a thorn stuck in a fingertip? When a thorn is stuck in your fingertip, how painful is it?

One would hold out one’s finger to anyone and ask for help. When the thorn is pulled out, one is truly grateful, isn't one?

So, do you know about the Fall as much as that?

Did you know it as much as the pain of that stuck thorn? Men, being large-hearted, would think little of a small thorn getting into a fingertip, would they not? Is it not so?

That you are fallen descendants is beyond doubt, is it not?

That is a fact no one can deny. How forlorn the fallen descendants are! Then, seeing the fallen descendants, should God reproach them or praise them, saying they did well?

How much reproach should there be?

Would a single glare or a single blow of the fist be enough? There may be people here who have come for the first time today. Think about it. How many historical twists accumulated for God due to the fallen descendants!

When one thinks of how human beings have driven nails into God’s heart for six thousand years, God would not be satisfied even to lift all of us human beings at once, like dust and sand blown on the wind, and throw us into the Pacific Ocean. If the Teacher makes such an expression, some may think, could there be such a God?

If the Teacher rolls up his eyes and looks about and speaks a few harsh words, those who have come here for the first time will go outside and say that when they went to the Unification Church today, the young man cursed exceedingly well.

Then would God praise you, saying, “You have been beaten and wronged, so welcome”?

It is not so arranged. Because it is heavenly law that sin is settled by punishment, and good is praised and set up. That is why there is the great judgment.

Have you ever considered that a command will be issued to you to appear before the great judgment court of the spiritual world?

Some day, the command to appear before the great judgment court is issued. To manage and govern that court, there must be a judge, a prosecutor, and a lawyer. Then who is the judge, who the prosecutor, and who the lawyer?

The judge is God, the prosecutor is Satan, and the lawyer is Jesus. Jesus can be no more than a lawyer.

Human Beings Who Must Be Grafted onto Jesus’ Blood

The prosecutor will make his charge: “These, born as descendants of fallen Adam and standing in a bloodline relation, are people with a fundamental condition by which they cannot be restored before God.” And, citing one by one the fact of the sin committed in Noah’s time, the fact of Abraham’s mistake with the offering, the fact that, passing through Isaac and Jacob, in Moses’ time the people of Israel disbelieved and Moses himself gave way to temper, and the national sins of Israel, which betrayed Heaven wretchedly for nearly four thousand years, and the sins of the Christians who stand today in the position of the Second Israel, he will submit that such charges are caught under such-and-such articles of the public law of Heaven and earth.

Then the lawyer must plead for this; but when one compares that person’s good and bad, unless the good is at least a little more, if the bad is more, would the courage to plead arise?

So, are you confident?

When you stand at the court of judgment, do you have content by which you can say, “God, I did such-and-such good deeds”?

When you come to stand before the public law of Heaven and earth, you may think that, because you believe in the merit of the blood of Jesus the lawyer, you will surely have some privilege; but you must not believe in Jesus only with words. There must be content. Jesus shed his blood, bearing content.

So you must be grafted onto that blood. That Jesus died on the cross too was a dying bearing content.

You must be grafted onto the blood of such a cross.

Jesus did not regard his life or death as a means to love all people and, to set up the public law and public principle of Heaven, of his own accord, walked the road of death.

Because Jesus was equipped with content of such a solemn dimension, he could receive the protection of the heavenly hosts and angels; but for you to believe in Jesus from a position not equipped with such a form.

So, are the Teacher’s words wrong?

What kind of blood is that blood of Jesus?

This is not a matter to be thought of simply. For example, is the blood of father and mother, the blood of husband and wife, the same as each other?

They are different. The red color that appears outwardly may be the same, but if one analyzes the components professionally in terms of content, though both are blood, they are different blood.

Therefore, onto what must one be grafted?

One must be grafted onto the blood of Heaven. Because Jesus was grafted onto the blood of Heaven, by the power of that blood, he could transcend death, and by that merit, he was resurrected from death.

Therefore, one who cannot be grafted onto that blood cannot receive the grace of resurrection. Then what kind of blood is it? It is blood pierced with deep grievance, blood containing wronged, pitiable, and grievous stories.

If, centered on such a bloodstain, one prays before Jesus, Jesus will say, “Ah! Do not pray such a prayer.”

If, before Jesus, who departed two thousand years ago, one prays, “You fought bearing such a heart. Who is to loosen the han knotted against the people of Israel, who did not know your grievance-pierced heart?

How painful must your heart be, unable to take vengeance upon them?

I know the han of the blood you shed,” then he will stop you, saying, “There, there, stop, stop.” You must become such ones. Is there such a minister among you?

The Privilege the Unification Church Holds

The Unification Church bears a great responsibility. The Teacher takes pride in the fact that we possess great content that can move Jesus and that, sympathizing with Jesus, who went bearing a historical mission, we can equip and lead, responsibly, a procession that bears today’s epochal mission and walks over the road of the cross, the height of Golgotha—this is a solemn privilege that only we possess.

As long as there is humanity in the world whose heart is alive, as long as such fidelity stands, the Teacher is confident that the flag of unification will not vanish and our Will will develop.

Have you ever taken hold of Jesus’ hand and made a promise, saying, “Send me to that place”?

When one thinks of this and that, all are bunglers. Bunglers. What is the elder brother of a bungler? What is worse than a bungler? It is Satan.

The established churches call the Unification Church Satan.

So, then, the Teacher of the Unification Church here has become the chief of Satan. Fine.

The official hat worn may be the same official hat, but the content is different. Take just that off, and he is a different person. What is this called—counterfeiting (假裝)? disguising (僞裝)?

That is why the Teacher finds it amusing even to receive such a misunderstanding. Do you find it amusing too?

Is it amusing, or not? Those who do not find it amusing are a lot below standard. What is most fitting for such people? A cudgel. (Laughter) The Teacher does not know why he says such things. As far as possible, he tries not to say such things to you….

When the Teacher sets a purpose and works abroad, all sorts of things happen. It is so even now. He could take you and do again the work he did of old. But he does not wish to do the work of an elementary school teacher.

Do you understand what this means?

If you ask mischievous children what is best, they say airplanes, cars, and tanks are good and beg you to buy them. It is the same with our children. Even if you say you will buy something better than that, they refuse and beg only for that. That is best for them. A toy suited to one’s own age is best.

But now the Teacher does not wish to play such games with you. The Teacher wishes you to become individuals of character who can stand boldly before the world and give command, who bear God’s grave Will and go forth, whom God can trust for a thousand, ten thousand years, and whom He can praise for all ages, saying, “I will be with you on the road you go.

You are walking, in My stead, the road I must go—but done wrongly, one becomes not a tiger cub but the cub of a wildcat or a cat. That is why you must do well. Is it not so?

All of you will assent. People dislike answering, yet they wish to say what they want to assert. When the Teacher speaks so, some may think, “Oh dear, why does he say such awkward things?” but that is amusing. And that amusing thing is what makes even God unable to keep his footing and even Satan unable to keep his footing.

God, Who Strikes the Elder Son and Subjugates Him Before the Younger

For you to achieve Complete Restoration, the blood spoken of a while ago is the issue. God works centered on blood. A moment ago, the Teacher said that Jesus’ bloodline is different from ours. Now the Teacher will speak to you about that.

You will know if you read the Bible. Since it is the history of restoration, the child born first is Satan’s offspring. All humanity in the world is Satan’s offspring, with no relation to God. And the son born next is Jesus.

Therefore, you will all know through the Principle that the providential history of restoration is a history of striking the elder son and subjugating him before the younger son. It is so with Cain and Abel, so with Esau and Jacob, so with Perez and Zerah, so with Joseph and his eleven brothers, and so with the people of Israel and the nations of the world, and with all humanity and the Son of God, Jesus.

It is not that the elder son is struck and destroyed, but that what was struck first is judged and subjugated. The heavenly way became inverted. That is why, though the elder brother ought to come out first, a history unfolds in which the younger brother comes out first, riding upon the elder.

That is why, in the Bible too, when Jacob blessed Ephraim and Manasseh, the sons of Joseph, he crossed his hands upon their heads and blessed them. He blessed them crosswise, the elder with the left hand and the younger with the right. No one knew why Heaven and Earth had become so.

Therefore, this present chaotic age must all be judged once. It must go into the fire pit and come out. If one compares a human being to iron, it is iron, but iron of all sorts mixed in, impure, mongrel iron. That is why judgment must come in the Last Days. Because it has become mongrel and impure, one must graft on the pure flesh and blood of the son.

It was said that one who does not eat Jesus’ flesh and blood has no relation to Jesus. By eating Jesus’ flesh and blood, the condition is set up that one has been grafted in by Jesus. Thus, one must receive from Jesus a receipt that the false has become the true before one can go before God. It is to receive this receipt that one believes in Jesus.

In writing this receipt, Jesus writes it only for one who is like him. To receive Jesus’ receipt, one must become one with Jesus’ circumstances and his Will and follow the road he walks.

When one so receives the receipt, Jesus does not become the Lord. Jesus becomes our elder brother, and we become his younger siblings. Why? Because Jesus, too, called God Father, and we, too, call God Father. But we are sons restored by having our bloodline changed over from the position of adopted child, whereas Jesus is the original son. This is the difference between Jesus and Jesus.

Because Jesus comes to restore human beings into God’s bloodline, Jesus must come forth, laying a foundation for restoration. And then he enters into restoration.

When we were born into this world, we had already become human beings of the satanic world. Therefore, for us to be restored as sons of God, we must be born again. We must go back into the mother’s womb and come out again. One must be reborn. Rebirth means to be born again. This appears in the dialogue between Nicodemus and Jesus (John 3:1-10).

When Nicodemus asked Jesus about rebirth, saying,

“How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” (John 3:4),

Jesus, after answering him, said,

“Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?” (John 3:10).

That is nothing apart from “rebirth.”

Let Us Become Those Who Can Stand in Jesus’ Stead

When you were born into the world, you were all born bearing the bloodline of the enemy. You were born bearing the bloodline of Satan, who holds the placard of a traitor before God. Saying so grieves you, does it not?

In our country of old, what was done to an enemy’s household?

It was said to be exterminated to the seventh degree of kin.

So, since you were born bearing the bloodline of the enemy, even if your flesh were torn apart a fourth and fifth time and made food for eagles, you would have nothing to say. Fortunately, it did not turn out so, so you ought to be grateful.

Because we were born receiving the blood of the enemy, we must draw out and remove this blood. That is why religion has carried on a history of striking one’s own flesh—saying, “Fast, be gentle and humble,” and the like.

Because a human being is originally God’s child, it is human nature to have a standard high and broad like the high and broad Heaven and earth. Nevertheless, because the human being fell, God could not bestow such a standard upon the human being.

The desire to conquer the world is a human instinct. It is an instinctive craving.

Though we are born, our human ancestors having fallen, in the position of robber, betrayer, traitor, because the original mind, made at the creation of the human being to act toward heavenly law, has not vanished, a human being wishes to become the highest and greatest in the universe.

Yet religion teaches, “Do not be arrogant, be gentle and humble, strike your body.” It also says to cast off the satanic lust in one’s body and to cast off temper. That is why one fasts. It is a matter of fasting to cut off entirely the bloodline of Satan.

When you go to the spiritual world, if you have not fasted for Heaven for a week or more, you will be unable to gain admission when you go to that world. Why?

Because God toiled over the six-thousand-year course of the history of restoration, one must fast while thinking of that.

That is why the Unification Church has a seven-day fasting period. It is not to make you suffer, but to make you set up the condition of having struck your flesh before Heaven.

Therefore, one must strike one’s flesh. That we human beings should have stabbed with a knife, saying, “This body of the enemy, this lump of flesh! Within it, the blood of Satan is stirring. Jesus was stabbed in our stead.

Then what did Jesus leave us?

He left us his flesh and blood. We must become those who can stand in Jesus’ stead.

To become a substitute, what must one do?

One must become a responsible one who can conquer the satanic world. One must become not a servant before the satanic world, but a responsible one who can strike the head of Satan and conquer his world. That is, entering a family, one must be the conqueror of the family; going before a people, the conqueror of the people; going before the world, the conqueror of the world.

For that responsibility, Jesus left all his flesh and blood to us human beings. Yet they, having eaten well the wine and bread, which are the flesh and blood of Jesus, at the Holy Communion, betrayed and sold them off as cheap flesh and blood, not worth a single penny. There is no way to deny that the sin of violating such a holy body (聖體) cannot be forgiven by heavenly law.

The Worker of the New Age Must Suffer

If one knows this content and reads the Bible, one will say, “Ah! So that is it.” When one reads the Bible, from Adam’s family come Cain and Abel—are you Cain or Abel? At “Abel,” one feels good, and at “Cain”… You like only the good things, do you not? But becoming good is not simple. Good is good, but the process until one becomes good is hard.

In the fallen world, there is no rule by which, starting with the good, the good comes out. Had there been no Fall, one would start with the good, and the good would come out; but because of the Fall, there is no rule by which, starting with the good, the good comes out.

So for the Unification Church to seek a good place, it must start from a bad place. Then, from how bad a place must it start? That is the problem.

It will not do to say, “Oh dear, my individual circumstances are bad, from a bad place….” One must become a person who goes from the worst place, swept up in worldwide circumstances and in the circumstances of heavenly law.

Only then can one enter the good place. For example, it is the same as the shape of a trumpet horn. The bad place and the good place spread wide apart; when one goes deep into the very worst place, one is closest to the good place. Do you understand?

The world did not start like this horn. It started from a single point—that is, from Adam and Eve—and has now spread out like this. From the place where it has spread out, one must go deep in just as it is. To where must one go? One must go to the very first place of Adam and Eve.

In going in, though there be many crises of death, one must cross over all at once, unheeding of such things.

So you must know that God drives the people He loves, without mercy, into world-historical suffering and the road of death. Such a process everyone alike must pass through, without exception.

The Unification Church Is a Church That Suffers

Even the saints who came and went in the past—none upon this earth was gently attended and succeeded in his one lifetime. That is why God, to bring anyone to prominence, drives him hard.

Only when one feels that God sought one out with a love greater than one who loves the people and with a hope greater than one who hopes toward the world does God bestow upon that person the qualification to set out as a worker of the new age.

The Teacher of the Unification Church is busy with the restoration of humanity.

Though the thirty million people betray me, and countless religious bodies drive me out and pin on me the worst placard, the more they do so, the more the Teacher, knowing that he is bound to God all the more deeply, has borne all of it.

Believing and enduring that, on the day all that course ends, not a pitch-dark Heaven and earth would come, but a bright new morning would dawn and, by that light, he would be welcomed together with Heaven and earth—such a day would come—the Teacher, I believe, has indeed succeeded.

The method by which the Teacher guides you is not a method thought up by the Teacher’s head.

You must know clearly that the Teacher has guided you according to heavenly law or according to principles that conform to that scope. Yet in this process, some people say, “Our Teacher just tells us to suffer.

Our Teacher is merciless and such-and-such.” To such people, if one says their toil and merit are great, they will feel somewhat relieved. But though they may rejoice on the spot, if in heart they go before Heaven and reflect upon themselves, when will they be able to take off the cross they bear?

That the Teacher is persecuted by the people of the world is not because I did wrong. It is entirely because you did wrong that the persecution comes. But that does not mean the Teacher does so to take vengeance on you. He forgives. Yet, being forgiven, you must set up, in the position of the forgiven, a condition that Heaven and earth can publicly acknowledge. That is, just as the Teacher, cursed and rejected, in a wronged place, seized hold of God and walked a tear-stained road, you too, in such a place, must seize hold of God and, thinking of the course the Teacher walks, repent of your sins with tears—only then can you be forgiven.

The Unification Church is a church that suffers. It has always walked the highest road of suffering. For us, the highest crisis is the 1960s. It is not that one kicks that pass aside and goes around it; one must cross over that pass. We are crossing the last, sixth-year crisis of the seven-year course.

When we cross this crisis, it becomes a time when the future fate of these people, the Republic of Korea, becomes clear. A time comes when these people can cross the hard mountain summit and develop. When we think of that, we must once again feel how great Heaven’s toil is.

You prefer Abel to Cain, do you not?

When you, in your distress, in the pitch-dark night, cry “Father!” and pray gazing up at Heaven, what do you see? You see “the stars.” At night, when you gaze at the ground, it is pitch dark, but when you look up at Heaven, you say, “Ah! There are the stars.” The Teacher, too, gazed at Heaven and prayed such prayers many times. The teacher, too, has many such stories.

Do our Unification Church family members wish to become Abel or Cain?

(Abel Then, how great an Abel will you become? Of Abel, too, there is the individual Abel, the family Abel, the national Abel, the worldwide Abel, and the cosmic Abel. Even if you cannot become the root of such an Abel, you must become at least a branch of Abel, a leaf of Abel.

If that is hard, you must become at least a worm-eaten leaf of Abel. Even worm-eaten, it must not die.

When one quietly looks at a tree leaf, even if a worm has gnawed one side, it does not die. Even so, when summer comes, it grows green and well. Is it not so?

Will you become a worm-eaten leaf of Abel, or a fresh leaf of Abel?

Which Abel will you become?

There is no need even to ask—of course the good is good for you and good for me, good for all. But the world is not so arranged.

Jesus, Who Came to Make an Abel Heaven and Earth

Are you an Abel like a worm-eaten leaf? What are you? If you spread open your conscience, you yourself will know well. “Ah, I am worth so many points….” Yet, though one is worth zero points, if someone announces before others, “Hey, you got zero, zero!” one dislikes it. Is it not so? When a fact is announced as a fact, one dislikes it. That is precisely the disposition of fallen nature.

The Teacher thinks that he himself is not an evil person. Think about it. Is he an evil person? He is not an evil person, is he? The Teacher does not wish to become a leaf of Abel. He wishes to become the root. He wishes to become the root of a tree that becomes the root, bears fruit, and, as that fruit falls, can cover all Heaven and earth. You, too, will crave that.

Since Abel's history began with Abel’s sowing, Abel must reap it, and since Cain's history began with Cain’s sowing, Cain must reap it. Therefore, as a result, it splits into two worlds. And so the one who came as the fruit of Abel, bearing world-historical responsibility to make it an Abel Heaven and earth, is precisely Jesus.

The one who came in the position of the worldwide Abel is Jesus, and it is this evil world that is in the position of Cain. Therefore, when Cain submits before Abel, all under Heaven is pacified.

So, such a fight is going on, and because of the fight, the family too is decaying. Democracy these days is in such a state. Senators and representatives, the opposition and the ruling party, split like this and fight one another.

Further, the world is divided into democracy and communism. This is the same as your body and mind fighting each other—one being like the body and one like the mind; they are fighting.

Because such a world was brought about by human beings, the resultant world too must inevitably be made by human beings. That is the truth. On the day human beings tumble over this truth, the world will become one freed from suffering and groaning, lamentation, and misfortune.

Furthermore, a person can find rest at last only when he can govern the body not as the body wishes but by the standard the mind wishes.

Until now, people have lived a life in which the body rules the mind. Moreover, because democracy, materialism, and individualist thought have swelled in, it has become, ideologically, a world in which the body tramples the mind. These days, people say, “God is dead,” and that saying came out well. That is the last problem that must be loosened.

One must strip it bare and see whether that saying is true or not. That is, one must assay whether He is dead or alive. Who must do that? Precisely, the Unification Church must do it. The responsibility to assay lies with the Unification Church.

“God is dead?”

That such a saying has come out shows that the time is fully ripe. God did indeed die. The God who grieved in the satanic world died. When God is resurrected, He will appear as a rejoicing God. This is precisely the principle of restoration through indemnity. So the Teacher thinks.

Restoration Within the Womb

Until now, brothers have fought one another. God, to set right the principle of Cain and Abel, carried on a providence of driving them back into the mother’s womb.

Therefore, the elder brother must submit to the younger brother and hand down the blessing to the younger. He works by such a reverse method. That is why, in the age of Egypt too, He struck the firstborn. Thus, the history of the Bible is centered on the younger son.

God set up an individual providential foundation through Abraham and Isaac and sought to set up a family-level providential foundation centered on the twins Esau and Jacob. From that time, the fight between the twin brothers began. They fought even in the womb, and after coming out, they fought each other.

Cain and Abel of Adam’s family came out separately and fought after being born; Esau and Jacob, twins who received one bloodline in one womb, fought from within the womb. Thus, gradually, along the bloodline, restoration proceeds through the womb.

In the end, because Jacob subjugated Esau, he could subjugate Satan. That is, in terms of bloodline content, he blocked the road by which Satan could invade. Thus, one gradually goes seeking into the womb.

Who is Judah?

He is Jacob’s son. And Perez and Zerah are Jacob’s grandsons. Perez and Zerah, the two brothers born as twins through Judah and his daughter-in-law Tamar, came out with a reversal at birth from the womb. Because this was done, the foundation of the providence of restoration could be settled.

To Rebekah, who worried about Jacob and Esau fighting each other in the womb, God said,

“Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.” (Gen. 25:23)

When Perez and Zerah too came to be born, the younger, Perez, pushed aside the elder, Zerah, and was born first. Thus, the history of restoration unfolded within the womb, and because within the womb the younger, Perez, won victory and subjugated Satan, cutting off the bloodline bond by which Satan could enter the womb and accuse, the womb became inviolable. That is why Jesus could come out through the womb.

Inheriting that victorious tradition of Perez, descendants born against the background of the bond of heavenly law according to the law of Heaven lead history forward. Thus, setting up Joseph as a national representative, He came forth reproducing through him the condition of having won victory.

One of the requirements by which Jesus, differently from the other sages of history, could become the Messiah is that he was born upon such a historical foundation, in the course of the providence of restoration, on which the bloodline had been set right. That is why Satan could not inwardly invade Jesus.

God comes forth restoring in reverse. That is, He begins the providence from the outward and gradually goes inward, settling the decision of victory within the womb. Thereby, He laid a standard on which Satan could not accuse.

On the condition that Jacob fought Satan and subjugated him by wrestling with the angel at the ford of Jabbok and subjugating the angel, he gained the authority of victory and, returning to the land of Canaan, could subjugate Esau. Thereby, through a victorious people, because the younger brother subjugated the elder in terms of bloodline from within the womb, Israel could in earnest make the departure of the providence, and the eldest grandsons of its descendants could go forth bearing responsibility.

Thus, there was only one who came forth through a victorious foundation of restoration, having purified the historical bloodline and indemnified all the content that had to be indemnified; that one was Jesus, who, bearing providential responsibility upon such a foundation, came through Joseph’s family. That is why Jesus differs from the other sages. It appears so in the Bible too, does it not?

Jesus, the Second Adam

Then what kind of Jesus is the Jesus so born?

God created Heaven and Earth over six days. For five days He created all things, and on the sixth day He created Adam; the one like that Adam is Jesus. Thus, Jesus is the second Adam—that is, the latter Adam. He is the original, unfallen Adam.

Since God, in the beginning, created Adam and, centered on that Adam, created Eve, so, centered on this latter Adam, a latter Eve had to be set up; but she was not set up.

Who must set up Eve?

Adam must set her up. Because Adam did not fulfill his responsibility when Eve fell, Adam must seek and set up the lost Eve. In the principle of indemnity, there is no pardon.

Who is Jesus, and why did he come?

He came as the True Parent of humanity, with the mission of the True Father. Had Adam not fallen, he would have received God’s blessing and become the True Father of humanity, and Eve would have become the True Mother. But because they lost that blessing through the Fall, to restore it, God sent Jesus with the mission of the True Father, upon the foundation prepared through the long four thousand years of history.

Jesus, inheriting this providential history, entering the Adam position, must subjugate the one in the position of Eve, who received Satan’s accusation, and, seizing away all the conditions of that society, subjugate the whole of Satan standing before Eve, before he can restore.

That is why what Jesus asserted when he came was,

“I am the bridegroom, and you are the bride.”

What movement did Jesus carry on, seeking something in this world? He carried on the movement of seeking Eve.

If one looks at the very end of the Book of Revelation, it says,

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Rev. 22:17)

Then who is the Spirit spoken of here? It refers to the Mother, the Mother.

Who fell first? The mother (Eve) fell first. Therefore, the mother, rather than the father, must first wash away that sin. Because the one who planted the root of sin is Eve, in the position of mother, the Holy Spirit must come and carry on the work of the great spiritual providence. Thus, setting up the condition of indemnity, one must receive forgiveness from God.

Unless you receive the Holy Spirit, there is no rebirth. It is the same as one who cannot be born except through the mother’s womb.

Thus, unless one receives inspiration from the Holy Spirit and, in a love that yearns for the bridegroom Jesus, takes it in, and, in such a state that one cannot tell whether one’s body exists or not, whether one is within the body or outside the body, receives the proof of having been resurrected, one cannot go to the Kingdom of Heaven.

This is the rebirth spoken of in Christianity. Once understood, it is simple. The established churches say with words that rebirth is this and that, but it is all bungling.

Jesus, the Bridegroom

What was it that Jesus needed when he came to this earth?

More than the people, the clan; more than the clan, the family; and what was needed more than the family was a relative bride—that is, Eve. And what had to be sought even before that bride was his self.

That he fought Satan in Satan’s three great temptations (Matt. 4:1-11) was to restore his self. By winning victory here, he found himself, and next he had to find the family. To find the family, he had to find the bride. But in that age, Jesus could not speak of such circumstances of his.

He merely said vaguely, “I am the bridegroom, and you are the bride.”

Over the four-thousand-year course of history, God had the whole world adorn a bride. Therefore, it was Jesus’ mission that, having come to this earth, he chose there a single Mother of cosmic history and greeted her as a bride, and, centered on that father and mother, restored a new family, a new clan, a new people, a new nation, a new world, and realized the Kingdom of Heaven.

You must know this clearly. Do you understand? You must know it clearly. Jesus, in terms of bloodline, was born as such a man.

Then what must one do to become a person who can say, “I have completely attended to Jesus as Savior, as Messiah”? One must become one body with Jesus.

Has Christianity become one body with Jesus?

It has not. What is one body? It refers to the state before the Fall—that is, the state of not yet knowing the opposite sex; in other words, the state like the seed of sons and daughters within Adam. One must return to such a state. One must become one body.

All the peoples of the world were born before the True Mother appeared, so they were born in vain. Therefore, from the position of being grafted onto Jesus, one must go into Jesus’ body and be born again through the Holy Spirit when Jesus forms a married couple. Because one was born of a false love, one must be born again through a true love. Therein too lies the reason Christianity emphasizes love.

What did Jesus do in the spiritual world for two thousand years?

Those who believed in Jesus and went to the spiritual world are in the position of seed-babies within Jesus, who is in the position of a father not yet married; therefore, being unable to go to the Kingdom of Heaven, they have gone to paradise and are awaiting Jesus’ bride. Such is heavenly law.

Then what must be done?

The bride must come. Passing through the bond of the bride—in other words, unless one forms a bond with the bride—one cannot call the heavenly nation one’s own country, nor call the Kingdom of Heaven one’s own ideal world of living.

Jesus did not marry, but because he was in a perfected position, he was in the position of a perfected man who could bear children if only he married.

Jesus said,

“He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.” (John 6:56-57)

Then what does that mean?

It means that one must become one body with Jesus and dig deep into Jesus’ body. Thereby, when Jesus grieves, one must receive the grieving feeling, and when he rejoices, one must receive the rejoicing feeling.

Becoming one heart and one body with him, one must enter a place where one can feel,

“His circumstances are my circumstances, his demand is my demand, the purpose for which he fights is my purpose.”

One who does not become so can absolutely not greet the bridegroom Jesus, who comes hereafter to greet his bride. That the Unification Church has suffered until now was precisely to solve this problem.

So, do you have the confidence to greet the Lord?

The Family of Heaven’s Side

Then how will Jesus come?

The conclusion comes that Jesus, when he comes, cannot come as a worldwide Jesus. Furthermore, Jesus comes not gloriously but forlornly. Jesus comes bearing the mission of greeting a bride and organizing a family, organizing a clan, organizing a people, organizing a nation, and organizing a world. He comes bearing the mission of inwardly connecting the worldwide environment prepared outwardly.

Because the human being, through the Fall, died spiritually, it is a world the same as one in which only the flesh exists. Therefore, just as the spirit must be injected again into the flesh, so too in the outer world, there must be ideological content that has settled an inner standard centered on a historical background.

When people meet the coming Lord hereafter, that person—whether one who believed in Jesus well or one who did not—will be drawn, without knowing why, before the coming Lord and will wish to be with him night and day.

And only so is the condition set up that one has become one heart and one body with the coming Lord and been born through the womb of the True Mother; you must know that it was as a strategy for this that the seven-year course was set out from 1960.

Before a family of Heaven’s side appears, a family of Satan’s side cannot be grafted into a family of Heaven’s side. That is why, to form such a family on Heaven’s side, our Unification Church holds the joint wedding ceremony.

The people of the world laugh that the Unification Church holds joint wedding ceremonies, but through the joint wedding ceremony, one comes to have content that God can graft.

Thus, on the day we equip the standard of clan-level victory and win national victory, the world can be unconditionally forgiven before God. How moving such a road of restoration would be!

That is why we are waging a fierce struggle with Satan in the process of the restoration of the people. This one moment is a time when the cosmic life breathes. According to whether it breathes well or ill, it can suffocate or it can revive. Those who bear the responsibility to discern such a destiny are the warriors of unification. Yet do you feel such responsibility? You are just slack.

If there is anyone who has come here for the first time, do not judge the Unification Church as the Christians do.

The Unification Church is fundamentally, qualitatively different. Because it is qualitatively different, it also differs in content and in form. It cannot be done by an established church.

The Flower Bud of the True Olive Tree

Even if we are in the position of a tree leaf that falls before autumn even comes, even if we stand receiving the driving snow-wind as, when the cold wind blows, all the leaves fall, we must, in the midst of it, not lose our life-force, and, driving back all outward hardship, revive as a victorious life. Only then are we born again.

In like manner, all that the Unification Church has done, paving the road while fighting the outer storms, was in order, like a sacrificing spring season, to greet a new age; but have you, then, become such a branch, become such a stem? If you have not become such, it is a problem.

For the Unification Church, from grafting onto a branch that has had its revival of spring (回生春) until leaves normally come out and flowers bloom—how many years does one reckon? Seen by our course, it must take three years.

Then, when one wishes to cut off the wild olive tree and graft on the true olive tree, which part of the wild olive tree must one cut?

One must cut the trunk of the tree. Even if it is a tree whose bulk is larger than the world, one must cut it without regret and throw it into the fire of the furnace. And so the wild olive tree must have the new branch of the true olive tree gently grafted on and receive a new view of life, a new view of living, a new worldview, a new view of the universe, and a new view of love.

In grafting, because we try to graft on a single flower bud of the true olive tree, which can hardly even be seen, and then cut off the whole wild olive tree and change it into a true olive tree, the people of the world blame us, saying, “Those crazy fellows, those senseless fellows….”

Our Unification Church members receive much of such blame and persecution.

The true olive tree and the wild olive tree, seen outwardly, are the same tree, but the inner content differs.

So one must cut off the whole wild olive tree and burn it, and, onto that root, carefully bind the inner content of the true olive tree, tending it as one cherishes one’s own life, and make new shoots grow again with true sap.

For that, one must deny one’s own self and bury one’s whole self. For the sake of a single life, however large a leaf one has been in one’s lifetime until now, only when there is a standard by which one can bury it and hold the new thing in higher regard than one’s own life, than one’s own individual self, than one’s own kin, does a new sprout of life at last spring up from there. Seeing such things, the conclusion comes that it is difficult to follow the road the Unification Church walks.

The Teacher once had a dialogue with God over such a matter. “Can you do that work?” “I can do it.” “Oh, my parents; oh! my relatives; oh, my sons, and daughters….” “Even if the people of the world become a problem to you like this, will you go this road?” “Such things are no problem.”

Such was the answer the Teacher gave. The Teacher answered that Complete Restoration is no problem.

We Must First Make Our Own Kin the Offering

The Teacher will hereafter explain to you in detail the particulars of what course the Unification Church will take. But to tell all such things, the time is still a little early.

If the Teacher says such things now, the people of the world may go wild-eyed and say this and that about the Unification Church; but the point is—if you overcome all such difficult persecution, will you not be able to achieve your individual Complete Restoration?

Then what kind of person must appear in this world hereafter?

A person must appear who has a Messianic mission of having completely restored the individual.

The Messiah must complete not only the individual but also the family.

To complete the family, one must indemnify and resolve the han of all the defiled things of the vertical history and set the order right. And so, setting up the standard of family restoration, one must lead the clan and relatives.

Just as there were Jacob’s seventy family members, the seventy elders in Moses’ time, and the seventy disciples in Jesus’ time, so too our Unification Church, centered on the standard of building a new Israel, must set up a family-level foundation of such a tier and prepare a clan-level foundation, and, that clan uniting, centered on good, subjugate evil, and from there build a new people. And, going further, one must build a new nation, a new world, a new Cosmos.

Even at the cost of death, to build it and offer it before God is our mission. You must know that we are the throng of the Unification Church, which bears such a destiny. Do you understand?

That is why even the Teacher who speaks here had a time when he could not but reject his parents. To the people of the world, that was an unpardonable thing. Or there was a history in which he had to hear all sorts of curses and go, casting off even those he loved. Because the Teacher has walked such a road, he can drive you out to walk this road.

But now, because a time has come when one can cross the course of restoration centered on the individual, family, and clan through restoration by indemnity, it is a time for the Unification Church members to enter the home and witness to their parents.

The teacher, too, had an elder brother who believed in God well. But that elder brother did not know who I was.

The Teacher could not tell even his father a single word of all these things. One does not speak first, centered on one’s own kin.

If one loves one’s own kin first, there is no way that the sons and daughters of God who believe in God—that is, God’s people—would become offerings to accomplish God’s Will. Because it was God who said He would strike His beloved sons and daughters, His beloved people, His beloved nation, and make them the offering to save this world, we too, who follow that Will, must have the magnanimity to strike our kin first and make them a worldwide offering—only then can we stand before the Heaven and earth of righteousness.

You Must Become the Teacher’s Fellow Supporters

When the Teacher thinks about it, however much our Unification Church family members love the Teacher, they cannot love him as much as my parents did.

Do they love more?

They do not love even as much as they love their wives and children. But one Unification Church member is worth four or five of the people of the world. What the Teacher speaks of is that only righteousness and heavenly law will remain.

The Teacher must set up the heavenly law that will be the standard of judgment for a thousand, ten thousand years—that is, the law of righteousness for all people. So the Teacher, asleep or awake, thinks of that and moves.

Then how must the Teacher guide you, who follow him bearing such responsibility?

The Teacher desires to make you into a form that can win victory before such righteousness and public law and to go together before God the Father. Is it a good desire or a bad desire? (A good desire.)

It may be good for you, but for the teacher, it is a desperate plight. Why? Because he is busy just gazing at the road ahead, he must walk, and the road to go is worldwide, yet he must look back for your sake….

Though the Teacher says come, you cannot come, and you grow weary and collapse and are dying…. You ought to say to the Teacher, “Teacher, go quickly. Though we grow weary and collapse, your road is time-sensitive, so go quickly”; but far from doing so, you only groan and clamor, “Oh! Save me,” so there is much hindrance on the road the Teacher goes.

What sort of throng are you?

The Teacher wishes to ask that. And he will wish to ask it hereafter too. In following God’s Will, the Teacher struggles, determined not to become a man who receives God’s pity. Before the Teacher, who so walks the road of God’s Will, will you become a fellow supporter? Or will you become an opposer? Become a fellow supporter. Yet, is it simple to become the Teacher’s fellow supporter?

The Teacher at times feels, “I am left all alone.” But that too is fine. Because I must walk my road, even when the Teacher had difficulty, he never sought help from the association president or anyone else. Because the Teacher must take responsibility for all of Heaven’s providence.

You, too, have a responsibility remaining that you must fulfill as children, so you must fulfill that responsibility. When you fail to fulfill that responsibility, what will the Teacher do?

The Teacher’s thought is that, even by setting up other people, or even by setting up the Teacher’s own children, he will fulfill the responsibility God has given and win victory.

That is why the Teacher’s head is very complicated with this thought and that. And he also comes to think that the Teacher’s family is not smooth. Do you understand what this means?

That you can support the work the Teacher does and, harmonizing with that atmosphere, hold a unity of breath, means, seen in terms of the Will and in terms of fortune, that you come to stand in a position of indirectly aiding the mission of restoration. That is why, difficult though it is, the Teacher does this work. Needless to say, this work must be done to the end.

What must we do?

Bearing the solemn task of loosening the han of history, we must go forward toward the one purpose of showing the restored world of the future. The teacher, the other day, watched a tightrope walk.

Watching it, he thought, “So is the road we must go!” In walking the heavenly course, a single slip and God’s providence of restoration, which He has led for thousands, tens of thousands of years, loses the day; it can spring up and be tumbled over at a single crisis pass of a moment. When one thinks of this, one must know how hard the road we go is.

Yet to walk such a road, you must give much devotion. Asleep or awake, you must vow and vow again.

Among our Unification Church members, how many are there who do so?

They are slack. When the time comes for the world to be restored, if you once blow hard, you can know how much you loved Heaven. Think once about how much you yourself vowed for the sake of Heaven.

When the year’s end comes, the Teacher thinks he may teach you all the matters in detail. Until now, before the Teacher did any work, he did not teach you about that work.

The Teacher of the Unification Church would not teach without first doing it himself. After the Teacher did it first, he told you to do it too, since the Teacher had done it. The Teacher must make the Unification Church members do that work, even by striking them.

The Unification Church members are set so that they cannot budge even when beaten by the Teacher. Even when he pours out curses, saying “you brat,” they are set so that they cannot budge before the Teacher. That the Teacher curses and beats you is because he does it for your sake. It is to pave a road for your sake.

When we say we will pave the road of restoration for your sake, what do we do if you say you cannot go?

One must drag you and go, even so. One must drag you even upside down and drag you even by tying you to the hind leg of a horse.

Even if you collapse utterly exhausted, if you go to the end, you arrive at the homeland where the True Father and True Mother and the son live. So it is. That is why hereafter too the Teacher intends to make you true people, even by striking and beating you.

Until now, because evil struck good and made evil, it was sin; but when good takes up the whip and strikes evil and makes good, it becomes good. This is a new philosophy. So, must the Teacher strike you, or is it all right not to? (Yes.) Is it all right even if he strikes you? (Yes.)

No one taught the Teacher to walk this road. Even God did not teach the Teacher. The Teacher sought it out, staking his life.

You would all like, somehow, to achieve Complete Restoration quickly, would you not?

Complete Restoration. For that, you must resolve firmly. That is why the Teacher is busy these days.

Let Us Make a New Departure

I must not lead you as of old. I must lead you very severely.

So the Teacher has decided to see the grandmothers and married women as young maidens. And he has decided to see the grandfathers and married men as young bachelors too. How is the Teacher’s idea? Good, is it not? Elder Kim, is it good? (Yes.) Run even a hundred ri a day—this is the point.

Why is that unwelcome?

Even if you cannot run in first place, run. When some athlete enters a certain event at the Olympic Games, even if that athlete comes in last, because he took part, he is an Olympic athlete. Do you understand?

For example, at the Olympic Games, when one runs a certain course, even if one has been running for ten years, one is still running. In principle, one must not close that event just because the time is up.

Even if it takes ten years, one must wait ten years. That is the principled rule of closing. Because the principled rule of closing is to wait until the last person reaches the finish line, even if it takes ten years, one must wait. Because God thinks so, God too waits so.

You must show a new form before God. That is, run.

If you run for ten years, God waits ten years. If that person is running for ten years, he is an Olympic athlete for those ten years. Therefore, though always last, at any rate, if one runs and reaches the finish line, it is enough.

Whether one falls ten times and goes back and forth ten times, if one goes even a single step forward, one makes restoration by indemnity that much.

Then, is the Teacher’s harsh treatment of you a breach of etiquette, or not? Think clearly. Is it a breach of etiquette, or not? (It is not a breach of etiquette.) Just so, it is not a breach of etiquette.

Do you not recall vowing, in the early days, “I will run well before the Will”?

Those days were good. Those days when you were persecuted by the people of the world, beaten by your husband, your feet blistered, and driven about—those days were good.

Then which time is best now?

The time of running as an athlete is best. And next, the time of receiving the prize is good, is it not?

What does the Teacher always think of?

It is the mission of subjugating the worldwide Satan. That is what the Teacher must accomplish until the day he dies. If you say you will not follow until the day he dies, the Teacher will discipline you.

So one who does not wish to be disciplined may withdraw his association application beforehand and go. The Teacher tells you frankly.

In the new year, let us wake from the sleep we slept, lift the head we bowed, reveal the form we hid, fast for about a week, and make a new departure. Understood?

One World Descends and One World Ascends

When the Teacher looks at you, there are many times it is pitiable. Without fail, one must go this way, but there are too many circumstances by which one cannot so go. There are so many circumstances.

The Teacher regards it as a matter of course that there are so many circumstances.

One who says he has not even that many circumstances is a real falsehood and a heretic. You, too, will know well, seeing the results of what we have done, that we have not come down the wrong road.

Look at the sun—how is that sun?

Is the rising sun slow and the setting sun fast? The rising and the setting are the same. But one world descends, and one world ascends. After the sun sets, one passes through the night, but that sun has not completely set.

That sun is shining on the opposite side of the earth; because they do not know this, the people of the world drove us out and all went off into the world of darkness. They did not know that we, gazing upon the bright world of the Cosmos, live greeting broad daylight. Is it not so? That is why the Teacher thinks that we go forth holding the privilege of being able to rule two worlds. Is it so, or not?

Gazing upon this dark world, we must stride forth. Now we are not amassing money, but hereafter we will amass the most. Just watch. We will amass more money than Mr. Lee Bong-chun. We will become the rich of the Republic of Korea. Or else we will make the great rich of the world come within our Will….

I understand that among the Unification Church members there are family members who, having not even barley rice, live on twelve won a day somewhere in Gangwon Province.

If it is for the sake of the Will, even this twelve won is much. Rather, just live fasting a day. Where else is there anyone besides me who says such a thing? Do you know why the Teacher says such a thing? Within our net, there is no person in the world who will not be caught.

If, ideologically, the latter half of the twentieth century is called the golden age, there is no one who holds a higher and greater ideal than the Teacher. The Teacher is the first when it comes to high and low.

If only I could drive all the humanity of this world at once, I would herd all the humanity of the world into that net and catch them all. That is why, for a time, one becomes wretched.

After a while, the Teacher intends to buy a car. He intends to buy a Lincoln Continental, said to be the best in America.

Then you would be glad, would you not?

The Teacher will ride about in it and work. Even doing so, the Teacher feels no reproach of conscience. The Teacher paved this road beginning from prison life. So our family members are the tail that follows along behind, so it is enough if the tail just follows the head.

As one comes along, even if the head is at daytime, is not the tail at midnight? But this tail, if only it stays attached to the body, will someday meet daytime. You must know this.

The Teacher does not say he alone will eat well while others starve. Though now, even if he wished to eat well, he could not. In the thirty years of his life, the Teacher has passed; there was no day he was not hungry, and no day he did not long for people. He longed for ten million things.

In longing, because he longed not falsely but truly, you must know that that longing became bound to the Teacher. The purpose of that longing will, on some one day, without fail, be revealed to the world.

The Teacher, Who Is in Debt to No One

The Teacher does not envy anyone in the Republic of Korea. Among those who follow the Teacher, there are many who can die as the Teacher commands. How to drive them onward is the problem.

Then where does the center come to be?

Watch closely how that center is made. Because God aims at a circle, if one takes hold of the center, drives in a single nail, ties a thread to it, and spins it, it is tremendous. The longer that thread, the more the whole world turns. That center is precisely our Unification Church.

So the Teacher thinks. That is why the Unification Church members must become people who will die for the Will, people who will live a wretched life. Only by passing through all the processes of wretchedness can one rise to the highest position, that of God’s son or daughter.

Hereafter, among the Unification believers, there will be some who live well and some who live poorly. But among those who live poorly, there must be none who resent this and waver back and forth and, ruled by the environment, turn away. Only so can one rise later to a good position.

Can one obtain for nothing the good position left behind by those who fall in the world?

The principle is so arranged. For that, all must walk the contrary road. Shedding tears and mucus and merely being driven about, one must go forward with head bowed. One must not fail to know this principle. Almost all people like the temporary.

Especially women, when it is cold, just seek the heated-floor room and will not even look at the bare floor or a stony field. But unless you pass through that process, there is no indemnity.

Otherwise, half will become wild olive trees and half true olive trees. Or two-thirds will become wild olive trees and one-third true olive trees. Would it be good to become so? That is why one must inwardly settle accounts completely, and if even that is insufficient, one’s own body must become the offering.

That even so one ought to feel it insufficient is the posture of those who walk the originally normal road of faith; know this clearly.

I may look to you like a dreadful teacher, but I hope you will not think of me too much as an enemy. The Teacher does not sponge off you. He absolutely does not go into debt.

Though countless people of the world pray for me, for God, and for this place, the Teacher does not go into debt even to those people. Because everyone is a spiritual being, they do so because they inwardly feel something.

Those who have entered the Unification Church, however much they may think they possess something, when they look at themselves once again, will know well that they bear a burden on the underside.

Rather, because you are placed under the destiny of having to repay a debt, your road is time-sensitive. Knowing that, in the new year, you must resolve anew and set out.

Prayer

Father, each time we bow and pray before the presence of the majestic Father, the more we think that it is not the form of a Father who is rejoicing, the more we cannot but feel abashed and cannot restrain our sense of guilt.

Father, in this broad, broad Heaven and earth, though there is no people lower than our Korean people, Thou didst choose this people; and though among the countless of humanity there is none lower than we, Thou didst come seeking us.

When we think of how Thou hast protected and cherished us, who behave without sense, a hundred times, a thousand times, we feel once again that Thou lovest this people, that Thou lovest us unconditionally.

We give thanks that, seeking the ignorant and senseless ones, Thou didst bestow upon us the ideal of the blessing of Heaven and earth, difficult to bear, and gavest us a day on which, upon a foundation of holy grace others cannot even dream of, with a heart welling up infinitely, we can call The Father; and we feel that all this is the touch of Thy love.

When we come to think of how Thou hast, until now, reared us and made us the standard-bearers who uphold Thy command, and when we think of what Thy road must have been, on which, enduring even in those sorrowful bygone days when the frost drove down, Thou wentest to pave the road of restoration, we cannot but repent once again of our past, unfilial a thousand, ten thousand times.

Set up before this nation, this people, a throng that can advance even while pursued, up to the final standard of victory that Thou didst cross until today.

Grant that we may become ones who can bend our form, feel shame of ourselves, and wield the whip upon ourselves.

When we newly realize the fact that Thou hast come pierced with a great Will, grant that we may of ourselves feel that we have no way but to render up to the glorious Father a thousand, ten thousand times, thanks and thanks, praise and praise—this we earnestly desire and beseech.

Now we must go before the Father resolved to die. We must know that the present time is precious. We must feel once again that upon our bodies we have worn many of the dirty rags of history and that our minds are seized by mean things in which God cannot dwell.

According to the Word, unless one becomes like a little child, one cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven; we must become little children. Just as a little child longs for its mother’s bosom and longs for its mother’s milk, we must seek the original position of children, who can long for the Father, long for the Father’s bosom, and long for the Father’s water of life.

We were a people without a nation. We were exiles who had lost our nation. We were starving public beggars seeking our lost nation.

Since we have known that Thy Will is the true thing of seeking and building a new homeland, the land of our origin, we must seek our lost original family and homeland and take vengeance upon Satan.

And not stopping merely at that, adding all our rights of inheritance, which are the heavenly blessed institution that Satan cannot take advantage of, we know that, facing Satan, who is the historical enemy, the enemy of the age, and the enemy of the future, whatever the difficulty and whatever the pain, we must take vengeance and indemnify; so, Father, give us strength.

Give us, Father, the strength and power to render full loyalty and filial devotion for Thy sake; we earnestly desire and beseech.

Since they are Thy children who, grieving over children born in the midst of death, struggle to find the bond of life, grant that they be not scattered, and grant that the things they seek to do be not in vain, but be gathered as fruitful results before Thee—this we earnestly desire, Father.

We know that Thou art calling us a thousand, ten thousand times, and that at this hour too Thou art urging on the steps we must take. Because the direction we must go is of a thousand shapes and forms, we must walk the road of frost and the perilous sea-road and pass even the rugged road where the enemy hinders; grasping through experience the heart of the Father, who cannot but command us to go a crisis-road with twists never experienced in the living of life, grant that we may become ones who, even at the cost of bearing the cross a thousand, ten thousand times, give thanks for such a command and struggle to go that road gently. Grant that we may become the substitute of Jesus, who called upon the Father on the height of Golgotha, and grant that we may become Thy sons and daughters who can stand in the position of him who, in the Garden of Gethsemane, offered up a decisive prayer with life and death at stake—this we earnestly desire.

And so grant, Father, that we may become true children who will bear the responsibility of planting the placard of victory on the height of Golgotha and turning the world about, setting it forth toward the new world the Father desires—this we earnestly desire and beseech.

Today is a holy day, so Father, bless these people and bless the countless religious bodies and countless religious people. Personally protect Thy true, hidden children, who toil, unknown to others, to prepare a foundation on which Thou canst descend.

In the Last Days, gathering all to one place for one purpose, hasten the road, we earnestly desire and beseech, so that the nation of unification, the world of unification, that Thou hast longed for may be realized.

The year 1966 is now waning, so grant that the children gathered here today may once again compose their hearts and greet the new year, and grant that in the new year they may become light together with the seven-year course, and become Thy sons and daughters who, striving mightily, of themselves struggle to become masters in the world of rest and know how to run before the Father—this we earnestly desire, Father.

Father, remember the countless brothers of the unification family scattered throughout all the world, who pray for this place, and grant that they may quickly realize the hoped-for nation they seek to build and restore the world they hope for.

Grant that, avenging Thy historical enemy, avenging the enemy of the age, avenging the enemy of the future, avenging the enemy of all humanity, we may raise a song of victory before Thee, and there attend Thee and live in peace.

Father, if those who build that world are weak, add strength to them; if they are weary, give them strong legs and strong knees, so that the heart to run toward the enemy’s camp may well up, and grant that they may become Thy children who run in the Father’s stead.

The remaining days gaze upon us and call us; so, however hard the road we go, work that we may endure and go on, and grant that we may not tire in that battle, and become Thy sons and daughters who can press straight forward toward the goal—this we earnestly desire.

At this time, when the seven-year course is about to wane, we give thanks that Thou callest us in the building of the new history of this people and this world. Receive with joy all the things Thou hast granted, and bless us, we earnestly desire, that we may make a new, original foundation before this people.

Grant, Father, we earnestly desire that through the content of the Word spoken at this hour, each may resolve something new in his heart, and, newly resolving and vowing in his heart to bring to conclusion the things that a life must conclude, may become Thy child who knows how to pioneer his own living.

Take charge of and govern all things personally from this hour on. Bearing the holy name of the True Parents, we have prayed. Amen.
